HP M7170N too hot to 214F. Computer stops after 1 minute

I need some additional opinions on what may need to be replaced. In summary, here is the problem. I unplugged everything from the motherboard including USB and media players. I took out all but 1 Memory stick. Everything that is connected to the motherboard's power supply graphics card, System fan, CPU fan, and button / stop. Also, I had to connect to the mouse and keyboard. It was an attempt to eliminate everything else. In any case, I start the computer and go to BIOS. I can stay in the Bios for about 1 minute until the computer reached 214 (F) or 107C and then stops. The CPU seems to be OK. I have not seen a failure of the CPU at startup. I reapplied grease thermal and cleaned and reconnected the heatsink with fan. The fan runs but slows high-speed after 5 seconds approximately. I usually less than a minute to go BIOS before the CPU is hot. The CPU fan turns at 3800 RPM. My guess is that there is a problem with the radiator. I would appreciate any advise on what could be bad, before I have to start to buy coins. I'm thinking that its either the motherboard or the radiator. The power supply seems ok. Thank you

It is one of the best CPU cooler air cooled.  Final cost is $ 21,50 after coupon code CPJUCOLEP05 and save $ 5.  Delivery is free.

How old is your laptop and you clean the cooling fans in the past?
If this isn't the case, I recommend you this doing.

To clean the fans, you can use the jet of compressed air that can be bought in most computer stores.
The problem is that dust and debris inside of the laptop prevents cooling modules works properly, and so the temperature increases to a higher level. This leads to the farm automatically from the bottom.

Using a laptop or a desktop computer?

The reason for this question is, if you have a plugged AC adapter you must set power accordingly as opposed to laptop settings battery operated.

I suggest you head over to the power settings and create your own power management.

    a. power by clicking on the Start button, open the Options click on the Control Panel, clicking system and security, and then clicking Power Options.

    (b) according to the plan you want to change, click on change plan settings.

    c. on the parameters of change in the plan page, choose "Put the computer to sleep" that you want to use when your computer is running on battery (if applicable) and when it is plugged.
(Change in 5 minutes for the batteries and sector)

    Hello

Could be heat related - try using a small fan to blow into the air intakes to see if that helps.
Even if it doesn't seem to be too hot the sensors could be defective and stopping.
It is just like it loses power or stop it in the normal way?

Remove ALL power and reinstall all the memory cards and cables (both ends where possible).
in fact, remove and replace - don't do not just tight. Remove the dust bunnies and clean the
air vents. Check that fans are working (before and after opening the case). When your laptop on all the

    Hello

    What to say...

    Regarding the automatically close downs;
For me, it looks a bit like overheating. Maybe you should check if the temperature is not too high and check if the cooling modules are working properly and it can cool the laptop properly. Sometimes the dust inside the laptop could have a bad influence on cooling.

Regarding the system BIOS checksum bad - default configuration used:
Try to access the BIOS and set the default BIOS settings. Then save the changes and restart the laptop.

    Regarding the MS patch:
I found this Microsoft Knowledgebase document:
The STOP Error Messages troubleshooting 0x0000009F DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE in Windows
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/246243

It is said that this problem occurs when drivers do not properly handle power state transition requests.
The error message most often occurs during one of the following actions:
    -Closing
-Suspension or out of standby mode
    -Suspension or out of hibernation

Check solution proposals in the document of Microsoft.
If this does not help, I guess it's a hardware problem and you will need to contact the ASP in your country.

    Good luck

  • Pavilion DV 6000 stops after 30 minutes or more

    Hello

    HP laptop Pavilion DV6000 DV6330ea

    Running Vista home premium

The machine stops after a while. Sometimes a blue screen appears, but I don't have the time to read before that the thing turns off by itself. At other times, there is a noise of slamming and all off immediately. He did this occasionally in the news, but now I have a chance if I get 1 race hrs. The fan runs constantly at high speed. It becomes warm to the touch around the upper-left corner of the keyboard. It of a common problem, is there a solution?

    Any help much appreciated.

My best guess for your problem is overheating issues. If you you use over a year and have no extended warranty, it's time to clean the vents, see this doc HP here it shows different models, however, it would be useful for you.

  • Computer stops after the installation of security update KB2393802

I'm 'rebuild' an old computer Gateway E-4600, to give via a local social agency.

OS is XP Home, and the product ID of the COA is valid.

I'm writing this, I'm in the middle of the 3rd attempt to get all of the updates to install * without * preventing the closure of the computer.  Each facility has given me minor differences in available updates, but I was not sufficiently detailed records of what was suggested to be more precise in these differences.    I'll know better here on out!   Laughing out loud

I didn't know that a problem existed in the judgment until I was almost done with the first reconstruction, which included the installation of the software.

During the reconstructions of the second and third, I largely used the system restore to isolate any problem and found the following:

KB 2393802 for Windows security update prevents the computer from closing with the closure of the XP Start Menu or Task Manager.  The only way I found to stop it is to hold the power button on or unplug the computer.  I don't actually unplug the unit, but that obviously has to work!   Laughing out loud

More interesting still, the article refers to Intel and AMD graphics cards, and this computer has a graphics card from NVIDIA GeForce2 MX/MX 400 (via Belarc Advisor).

I'm still trying to find an answer online, but nothing so far.

I can't give this with this problem :-(

I would like to know the answer to one or both of the following questions:

    1. Why Windows/Microsoft Update tells me to install an update for a graphics card that is not installed in the computer?
    2. How can I prevent Windows/Microsoft Update listing and want to install the update that is as a manual or automatic installation install?

    Thoughts and suggestions?

Yes, I'm still 'watching' this thread.

My answer 11 - Aug 31 is still standing.

    Hi, PA Bear.

    Hallelujah, it's fixed!    : grin:

While working with the technical support of MS, I discovered by chance that the computer turns with KB2393802 installed if the computer is disconnected from the internet.   AKA, unplug the Ethernet cable from the computer.

Finally, I started to wonder if the question can be hardware and not software.

So I started picking at glitter and for me, it means generally try the easiest to accomplish the solution first.   Laughing out loud

It was a replacement of the CMOS battery, but that didn't work.  I really didn't think he would, but hey, it was the best thing to do.

I was going to swap hard drives, with a new installation of Home or Pro, but then I realized that it was still easier to swap the Ethernet card.

I deleted the Linksys card (the latest version of the driver is already installed) system drew the card and dug an old map SMC EZENET of the pile of junk.  (Who doesn't have a lot of junk!   LOL) went scrounging for a driver online and got that installed, then used the device to update manager the driver, and the rest is history.

I shut down the computer at least 10 times since (I kept a detailed log and when I hit 7 successful stops I stopped making new entries) and it worked fine every time.

This could be something to the file in memory banks trivia!    Laughing out loud

Thanks for the help and suggestions.
