Computer stuck on the early start options page

Original title: cannot start
My office is stuck on a screen that has text that says that windows cannot start.  It gives me the options of Mode Safe Mode safe mode with networking, safe mode with command Promt, known last good configuration and start windows normally.  I tried all of them and once I chose one the computer restarts and goes back to the same screen.

Hello

I suggest you perform a startup repair in the system recovery options. Startup Repair replacesmissing or damaged system files, that might prevent
Windows to start successfully.

    Hello

Try to rebuild the data to start manually as follows.

If you do not, use another PC to create a rescue CD Windows 7.  Your laptop is listed as coming with 64-bit - ISO for this at the link below.

    Windows 7 64 bit

You must use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO to a CD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here.  One time created, or if you already have this, typing away at the esc key when you launch Notepad to open the Start Menu.  Insert the rescue CD.  Select boot options (usually f9), use the arrow keys to select the CD/DVD drive and press ENTER.  You can also get a prompt to "Press any key to" continuous - it if requested.

When loading, select repair your computer and choose the command prompt.  When this charge, enter the following commands and press on enter after everyone – including spaces as shown.

    Bootrec.exe

    bcdedit/export C:\BCD_Backup

    c:

    Boot CD

    BCD attrib s h - r

    Ren c:\boot\bcd BCD.old

    Bootrec /RebuildBcd

    Bootrec /fixmbr

    Bootrec /fixboot

Remove the rescue CD and try to restart the laptop.

  • Satellite L840/020 - can't get into BIOS after enabling the quick start option

I have a laptop Toshiba L840/020 (PSK8LA-020007). I recently installed a 330 Series SSD and Windows 8 Pro RTM 6.2.9200 MSDNAA on this Intel and enabled the fast boot option in the BIOS (boot speed > fast).

Now I can't get into the BIOS, no matter what I do. I tried pressing the power button / stop while pressing F2 (as suggested by a few other forums), upward on default that I tried all F and Esc keys, but nothing does. I also tried repeatedly pressing F2 during startup, plugged a USB external and supported on F2 keyboard on it, but no matter what I can't get into the BIOS.

When I go to the Toshiba support download section > 8 64 bit Windows, I see also a BIOS update for my laptop, but when I try to install I get the following error:

Please contact BIOS OEM Engineer to add the feature.
Without this IHISI interface, variables to authenticate will be modified or erased by flash process.

You can add the following parameter in platform.ini to ignore the error.

I'm not changing platform.ini and flash, without first asking the help of the community.

Please let me know how to enter the BIOS. Thank you.

    Hello

First try INS then F2 key.

Then you should be able to access the BIOS, I recommend disabling the QuickStart in the BIOS if you can successfully enter the BIOS.

With regard to the update of the BIOS.
I checked the page of the Toshiba driver to THE and it seems that the BIOS v6.20 is even similar to Win 7.
I think that the BIOS update must be done running the system pre-installed Toshiba since Win 8 is not officially on the market, and to my knowledge, there are some big restrictions updated BIOS running Win 8

I think I managed it to the State the main master. Muse, but didn't want it to be that easy so I now have my foot stuck in the same place in the middle of all my pages. What have I done? It was supposed to be a final cut before the release. Please, any help would be appreciated.

Looks like you just need to mark your items in the footer as a footer item. Right-click on your footer elements in your model, and then select "footer Element. This should force to the bottom of the page.

    Hi Lori,

I understand the frustration when things don't work as expected.

    Search for viruses.

I suggest you scan your computer with the Microsoft Security Scanner, which would help to get rid of viruses, spyware and other malicious software.

The Microsoft Security Scanner is a security tool free to download that allows demand analyses and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malicious software. It works with your current antivirus software.

    https://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

Important: During the scan of the hard drive if bad sectors are found, the scanner tries to repair this sector, all available on which data may be lost.

Please get back to us with the results.

  • Computer stuck in the 3rd phase of transformation of the malware Microsoft Update tool

When Microsoft Update tried to deal with the new version of the malicious software tool. Have downloaded and then installed for stages one and two of the process, and then to step 3 after the restart, he never completed the process and guard re-cycling. None of the tools of recovery works. I tried to put the Windows Vista CD in the drive and it never does on the disc to run the CD, even when I choose, "run from CD".

Are there other methods to stop the update process?

Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    See you soon.

If the above does not work, try to make a Bootable ERD to do a Startup Repair:

As is the case with most computers/laptops these days, they do not come with good Vista disc to repair only the recovery disks.

As your grave in the category above, download the ISO on the link provided and make a bootdisk of it.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

You can make a tool to restart system, System Restore, etc. with it.

Read all the info on the website on how to create and use it.

    http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/

    ISO Burner: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html

It's a very good Vista repair disc.

You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.

There is not a disk of resettlement.

And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.

    See you soon.

I am running windows xp and for some reason any (probably a major virus or main registry errors) when I try to log on to my computer nothing does market no mouse movement any key stroke in any combination... nothing will make this computer work... as soon as does boot in safe mode will not move at all... I was wondering if there is some way I can do as a system restore or anything to help save my laptop

    Dear michaelhelmers

Can you let us know the brand of your laptop? If you have the Windows XP disc, you can fix the errors of system files from there. To start your computer in safe mode, press F8 after that brand of laptop logo disappears and before when appears the "XP" logo. But if somehow the safe mode is inaccessible then I suggest that you use the Windows XP disk to repair your system.

After that I tried to change the drive letter and path, but it displays the following message 'the operation did not complete because the disk management console view is not updated. Hello

    ·         Have you installed a third-party program like Partition magic on the computer?

Try these methods further and check if it helps:

    Method 1:

Try to use diskpart to assign a drive letter to the disk #0 Partition #1.

    (a) click Start Orb > type diskpart

    (b) click right diskpart in the above results > click run as administrator right

    (c) once diskpart load type list volume, press enter

You should notice that you can see your partition you use for your data, it should not not have a drive letter assigned to it.

    (d) type select volume 6 (replace 6 with the number of the volume assigned to the partition in question)

    (e) type assign letter Z (replace Z with the letter you want to assign)

When you look in the computer, you should be able to see your score.

    Method 2:

  • "I understand the risks" missing option - page is read from cache

trying to access the Web site, I am facing a security warning because the certificate is self-signed.
This is an internal site, which is currently the subject of tests - so it's ok to add an exception.
the question is, the option to select "I understand the risks" is totally absent, the only available action is "get me out of here"

Since it is an internal site under our control, I did a few tests more:
It seems that firefox redirects the initial http request to https
This does not happen on other browsers (chrome and IE), also tested in a clean install of firefox running without the extensions.

even after completely cleaning the cache and temporary files, question remains.
This site (over http) does not load on firefox, always redirected to https

even after deleting the server mod_ssl apache and by eliminating completely any mention of the ssl on that server, connection with firefox always redirects http to https (now results in the error "Unable to connect to Server" - but still not to load the basic site http version)

    Amir.

I forgot the screenshot of SQLite Manager.
