Computer update downloaded vista crashed all I get is blue screen please help!
I downloaded an update about 4 days on my daughter's computer. Now, Vista does not load, I get a blue screen saying Windows has been shut down to avoid damage to the computer, it gives an error 0X0000C1F5 shutdown more it give fixing options like Unplug appliances and start in safe mode, but none of it works. I tried all the options in the F8 menu, I tried F12 and I also tried to use a new Windows Vista disk to start. I also ran the repair of the system and checked every option it gives under the menu in advance. Someone please help me I am at a loss. How an update to do this. I know that this is not a virus, because I did an audit of security with CA and done a defrag through the system until I installed updates. It was my weekly check for the computer that day.
Please help soon!
Thank you!!!

When I turn on my desktop computer with windows xp on it I get a blue screen telling me that it is dumping physical memory. Why it does this and what I can do to fix the problem?
Hi KarenSellers,-What is the exact and complete verbatim of the error message that you receive? Thanks for mentioning the same thing with the error code that is displayed with the blue screen.Method 1: Try to start your computer in Mode safe mode and check if Windows loads successfully.
Safe mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers. Startup programs do not work in safe mode, and only the basic drivers needed to start Windows are installed.
Check out this link to do the same thing:
Method 2: Use the Windows Memory Diagnostic tool to check if there is an error with the memory.Refer to the section "using the Windows Memory Diagnostic tool" from the link given below for the same: -
Running Windows 7 Home and Office on a laptop computer brand new and am startint to get the blue screen often enough so that in the middle of something.
The screen came back 1 or 2 times, but usually, I restart and hope the laptop comes back to life at this time.
Had he come back and tell me that Windows Outlook does not close properly and that he wants me to reinstall the program.
This laptop is only a month and a half, am also under Norotn 2010, on this, the protection against viruses.
Thoughts or ideas for me?
Thank you.
As the laptop is barely a month old and a 1/2, it is under warranty.
Communicate with the computer laptop manufacturer A.S.A.P. and make a claim.
Make a claim because it may be the precursor of future problems with your laptop and you want this connected with the manufacturer.

I upgraded my card mother cpu ram and hard drive. I reinstalled windows xp home edition has got all of the updates. After 9 latest updates download and installtion was going well until I rebooted the computer and go to page window showing all the icons that I get a blue screen and the computer restarts its self and does not stop. How can this be corrected?
Hi KevinRy,
Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!
Unplug all external devices.
Try to start in safe mode. If you can start in safe mode, and then do a system restore to restore the computer to an earlier point in time.
Change the recovery settings to disable automatic reboot, if you are able to boot up to the desktop computer:
1.
Right-click my computerand then click Properties.
2.
Click the Advanced tab.
3.
Under Startup and recovery, click settings to open the Startup and recovery dialog box.
4.
Clear the automatically restart check box, and then click OK many times necessary.
5.
Restart your computer so that the settings take effect.
Now, when you are going to close and a fatal error occurs, you will see at least and it won't cause an automatic restart.
Please reply back with the error message you get because it helps us to resolve the error.
Kind regards
Amal-Microsoft Support.

Original title: Vista Activation issue
After 4 years of use my computer without any problems at all, I get a message saying that my copy of Windows Vista is NOT activated.
Of course, he was and has been deleted now tile view! I made no changes to anything on the computer, so I did a little research
and found that it could be a virus trying to get 'paid' for a new activation code. I did a complete reinstall of Vista to remove
such viruses or errors and it still say my copy of Vista is not activated. When I try to follow the steps to activate Vista,
I got nowhere! Everything I've read say s do the activation of the phone, but my computer doesn't give me the option of phone!
It gives me only 3 options - "Buy a new online product key", "Enter a different product key", "Contact Hewllet Packard to help solve this problem."
I called HP and of course my warranty has expired and they even want to talk to me about $100! I'm going crazy trying to figure this out! Help someone?
Thanks for the reply, but I tried ALL the links you've posted over and over again until I've already posted my question here! The links you suggested sent me round in circles! They say all "choose the Activate by phone option" but I was not getting the phone option on my computer for some reason any.
I have corrected the problem and HERE IS HOW - 1-800-Microsoft
It was as simple as that! Now, if only they post this number somewhere here on the site it might save people hours or days of research! After calling the number, work your way through the automated system until you get a man! The guys at Microsoft that answered the phone was great and had activated me and up and running in minutes!

Original title: Windows of Vista SP2 update fails. Vista Upgrade option grayed out
Is no longer, I can download and install the updates for Vista SP2. I get error 80070490, who reports that Vista Service Pack 1 is no longer up-to-date. Vista Service Pack 2 also went out of support?
Kind regards

My computer date deadline and I get a blue screen message
My computer is less than 60 days old, and now for a week, he stops (crashes) at least once a day. When I reboot, I get a blue screen message. I have vista with all kinds of measures to protect against viruses and worms. Automatically, it downloads and installs the updates daily and other than that I have not downloaded or installed anything from the internet.
Microsoft Geeeeeee, I am not a Curmudgeon and don't know how to fix my machine. I just need (and wait) a reliable system that works! What is the problem and how to fix it? Thank you.Thank you very much for your answer, but I have read far more after my post and understood how to correct the problem. Microsoft has created two UPDATES of BAD August 27. in safe mode and I went to my control panel, see updates, uninstalled the 2 bad edits. I don't remember the exact numbers, but one was 36xx and the other was 29erxx. Now, my computer is fine. If anyone who reads this message is having the same problem, go to the blue screen and updates of messages to read on how to solve the problem.
How is BTW, that microsoft has put 2 updates of bad anyway? You should be ashamed for causing problems for your customers!

Is there anywhere to get a new copy of the system recovery disc for my windows vista computer. I have a HP Pavillion and I get not anywhere when trying to start repair, it tries to fix my computer and takes forever... and then I get the blue screen saying I need to reload windows. The recovery discs that I burned when I bought the computer do not work. What are my options?
How to reinstall Vista
Contact the manufacturer of the laptop computer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it
they do it for a nominal cost of $
also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought
you would normally press F8, F9, F10 or F11 or Alt + F10 or 0 to start to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer
Ask them of the exact key sequence
With HP normally press you F11 at startup to start the process of recovery from the recovery partition
or borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc
Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer
they contain all versions of vista
This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed
