Configuration wireless all-in-one Officejet J6480 problems

I recently changed my router and I can't get the printer connected to my laptop via wifi.

Here is the error I get:

The network printer 0.0.0.0 subnet mask does not match your router. Reconfigure the setting on your printer to function.

Your computer is unable to communicate with your printer at 160.70.201.185. This can be the result of firewall software. If you use firewall software, make sure that the 427 UDP port is unlocked for the incoming and outgoing traffic.

Your PC cannot communicate with your printer at the address 160.70.201.185. Check all cable connections. Make sure the printer and the PC and the router are powered on and connected to the network.

Here's more information:

  1. My laptop can connect to the Internet
  2. My printer is connected to the router
  3. I uninstalled and reinstalled the good software\drivers of HP
  4. the wireless network test report said that there is no problem.
  5. I ran the tool of diagnosis without help
  6. I can not connect to the printer via a browser (no errors, just can not find the device)
  7. I have disabled all firewall (Norton, WIndows and wifi router)

Here are a few configuration parameters that are printed:

  • Network status: ready
  • URL: http://192.168.1.255
  • Wireless status: connected
  • IP address: 192.168.1.255
  • Subnet mask: 255.255.240.0 (identical to my wifi router)
  • Primary and secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0

So what can I do else. Also in the error message, why is the subnet 0.0.0.0 mean and what is the 160.70.201.785 IP address? Moreover, I also can't connect to this IP address either.

Don't know what I can do...

It is certainly something funny here.

What router are you using?  What operating system?

On the front of the printer: configuration > network > network by default.  Now, in the same menu, run the Wizard Setup wireless for re - connect your printer to the wireless network.

  • All-in-one Officejet J6480: printer Officejet J6480 on Windows 10

I've owned a printer all-in-one Officejet J6480 for a few years.  I bought a new Lenovo computer several months that came with a free to Windows Update when 10 is which would be published.  I managed to load the J6480 software and everything worked very well, including the scanner.  When Windows 10 came out I upgraded to it and rebooted the printer software and everything worked fine.

Then about two weeks ago, all the J6480 would do is printed.  When I tried to open the HP Solution Center to scan a document all I had was a 'ping' and the Center does not open.   So I tried to remove all the HP software and re - load.  It would be the load but not completely.  I kept getting the message that "the application you are trying to use has been blocked to open because it could damage your PC or the loss of data. This is because some applications that worked with a previous version of Windows may not work the same way with Windows 10 ".  I do not understand why it worked fine for a few months with 10 windows and now it's incompatible, unless there was an automatic upgrade (Windows 10 or HP) that is now causing the conflict.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the software several times but to no avail.  Can anyone suggest a solution?

OK, one more not - we will reset the printing system: right click - Sys Prefs, Print & Fax - (control) the area of the print queue and select Reset printing system. -Select the sign + to add again. Search for the printer, select it, and wait until the button 'Add' becomes available. Until it clicks.

    Hi @jcoronat,

Welcome to the Forums of HP's Support. I understand that you get an error when you try to scan. I would like to help.

I took most of these steps from a post of Sunshyn2005. To be honest, all I did is to change the links to software, but the post is enough onsite for troubleshooting of Mac software.

    Scrub / uninstall

    • Open the Applications folder > folder HP or Hewlett Packard > Uninstall HP
    • Click continue, click on one of the printers in the list.
    • * Only perform this step if you have not all other HP printers.  Press and hold the Option, control and command, while now the three buttons.
    • Click Uninstall.

Manually uninstall the remaining files potentially - I apologize in advance is not a fun task! I'll try to make it easy to follow. Some of the files described in the following steps can be found, if you can't find one of the files or folders on your computer, do not be alarmed.

Move the files or folders to the Recycle Bin, drag and drop

    • In Macintosh HD/Library/Preferences - delete all files and folders on HP/Hewlett Packard

Move the Macintoshloginwindow.plist on the desktop. NOTE: Does not delete the loginwindow.plist file during the manual uninstallation may cause uninstall be retained.

    • In Macintosh HD/library/printers/hp - delete the folder
    • In Macintosh HD/Library/StartupItems, drag the following files in the trash, IO HP and HP trap monitor
    • In Macintosh HD/users/username (this should have a symbol of a house next to him) / Library/Preferences, drag the following files to the Trash: * all files starting with com.apple.print, * all files starting with com.hp, * all files beginning with Hewlett-Packard, * files starting with HP or hp
    • In MacintoshHD/users/USERNAME/Library/printers, drag all all-in-one printers listed here in the trash.
    • Drag the icons of HP from the dock and drop it onto a blank space on the desktop. The icon will disappear.

    Close all open windows.

  • Of Scanner all-in-one Officejet 6500 problems

    Hello

I have a brand new Officejet 6500 that prints, faxes and copies without fault.  It is connected wireless to two different computers.  However, for the life of me, I can't scanner at work - and the errors are the same on both computers.  No matter what I do, the scanner software opens and begins to work, but the scanner itself doesn't do anything (no noise, nothing) and eventually I get message and error that says "Scanner Error" with a bunch of steps to try to fix.  I tried ALL the steps, restart the software, reset the printer, unplug, re - connect, re-boot and even re - install the software - still nothing.  Once I even put in place via a USB cable just to make sure it wasn't a wireless issue, and is not; I had all the same mistakes.  I spent two hours on the phone with HP tech support and after changing a bunch of firewall and other security settings, still nothing.  I don't have anythign fancy; just Windows XP, Windows Firewall, McAfee Suite.  Any idea what could possibly be the cause of the errors of the parser and why there is no communication between the computer and the scanner?

After countless hours to suck his soul troubleshooting with alleged HP 'Technical Support', at least I managed to reduce this problem down myself and find a solution that works.  I found that the problem of scanning don't occurs if the printer OR the computer is connected to the wireless network.

The solution is to TURN the wireless RADIO and connect to your network via an ethernet cable.  Then try to scan with a computer that is connected to the network via an ethernet cable.  Note that this will NOT work if each connection - printer to the router - or computer to the router is connected wireless; It takes the two connecitons via an ethernet cable.

This is obviously a software problem that HP does not and will never be resolved.  So, if there is no way to connect your AIO to your router with an ethernet cable (for example, if the priter is in another room), you're SOL and should probably try another printer that HP will never solve this problem.

  • Printer all-in-one Officejet J6480 prints the document leaves "error sent to printer" message in what.

I have an officejet 6480 connected wireless that I print from a connected computer eithernet running Windows 8. When I print a document from various (Notepad, adobe, outrlook, etc.), the document print OK, but I find myself with a message in Quebec under the State that says "error - sent to the printer. 8/2 is listed under pagesand I print a two-page document. I ran HPSSdr and it shows errors found and it erases Quebec, but the next time that I print, I have the same problem. The printer is connected to an Actiontec PK5000 without wire/eithernet DSL modem/router. It's a router securred with a WEP password. When I do a test print from the HP software it erases OK, but she let the other message in the what. I also ran SFC/scannow, which did not find any problem.

The problem seems to have corrected itself. I did a system restore to before the updates required and still had the problem. I reinstalled the updates that have been deleted and the problem seems to have disappeared. I had to turn and then turn the WiFi printers because I received a message to unavailable printer. After all what it seems to work now.

  • My iMac 24 "4 GB 460 GB scan a picture of an all-in-one OfficeJet J6480

I just bough an iMac yesterday and when I configured the printer for wireless use, and tried to scan a picture, it wouldn't work.  The printer works fine wirelessly and I have not set up a fax because I really don't need now.  When I try to scan a picture, it gives me the message error "an unknown error has occurred."  I hear the scanner move, but there is no picture on the screen.  If anyone has had this problem before or have any ideas on how to fix this? Help, please!

    Thank you

Oh, you have snow leopard, correct?  Do not use Scan Pro, use of Image Capture or preview.

If this does not work, you will need to uninstall the software you probably loaded from the CD of the printer (for 10.5 and earlier only).  This by running the program of uninstalling applications, Hewlett-Packard.

Once you do this, download the latest drivers (in case the uninstall them program wiped out - he did it on my Mac) here.

  • Printing DCP color red problem - HP Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless All - in - One Printer, the 4th copy

I have a HP HP Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless all-in-One Printer and try to print 75 copies of a program for our event. After the first 5-6 pages the RED in my program starts to turn magenta. I have new HP ink cartridges and print on HP Color Injet paper. I have renectly replaced the Black/Yellow Printhead (at least 6 months ago). At the beginning when I cleaned the printheads, I was able to print 2 or 3 pages showing my color RED. Then back to magenta. When I received the images of test after you have cleaned the print heads, they are all perfect, no lines.

What happens and how can I solve this problem?

    Hi TM1997,

    Thanks for the reply!

Given that the printer seems to work for a bit and then comes back to the same question, it must be a problem with the printhead (Cyan/Magenta one) or the ink lines that go from the cartridges to print heads. First of all, I would suggest that you check the warranty date on your printhead C/M. If it is under warranty contact HP Technical Support in your area and inquire about a replacement, but if not, it's you if you want to replace the print head, printer service, or look into an upgrade.

    Have a great weekend!

  • Cannot sweep the all-in-one Officejet 4630

Hi all - help needed please.

Recently bought a printer all-in-one Officejet 4630 and had nothing but trouble, set-up and use it. After several attempts to put in place, everything is roughly in order, though I can't yet scan of the control on the machine Panel (I can scan only through "system preferences" under the apple icon).  Whenever I try to scan the engine control panel (and not through system preferences), using either the wireless network (Airscan or whatever it's called) or the USB cable, I have the following message on my laptop screen:

    Task is not available

The task of "Photo (JPEG)" found on your device is not available on your system. Please select another task.

The same thing happens if I try to scan to PDF. I use an old (c.2007 MacBook Pro) that runs the OSX10.9.5 Mavericks. Internet connectivity is not a problem because we have the right cable broadband. All I want to do is scan directly from the printer to my computer, preferably using a wireless connection. Help, please.

    Thank you

    Hi @nckbtlr and Happy Halloween!

I'm sorry to hear about the problems you are having with your Officejet 4630. I understand that you are unable to scan from the front of the printer. I'd be happy to help you with this.

In the spirit of Halloween, first I have to ask: what did the Mummy to tell the Agent from HP Support?    Let's wrap this case up!

I suggest to uninstall and reinstall the software. Please follow the instructions below to complete a more comprehensive uninstall than basic uninstall. I know that these steps look long and convoluted, but I made it easy to follow and have confidence that these steps will solve the problem.

    Scrub / uninstall
