The sound on my laptop works fine until I connect it via HDMI to a monitor HP Pavilion 24xw.  Then the sound disappears.  If I disconnect it, the sound comes back.

I tried to go to the 'Sound' of the control panel section.  There are two options:

    Realtek High Definition Audio speakers

    HP 24xw

The default value is Realtek speakers.  When I use the test installation my laptop plays the sound test.  I've updated to the latest version of the driver.

If anyone can help with why where the monitor audio disappears from my laptop?

    Thank you very much!

  • Pavilion 25xi: connect the speaker Hp pavilion 25xi

Hello.. I have a problem, connect the speakers supplied with the monitor of 25xi Pavilion. The connection on the sheet of paper supplied with the monitor shows that the speakers can be connected using the adapter. However, the power adapter has no provision to do so. Or the monitor has an audio input jack. Displays the the laptop HDMI cable but without sound. Have I been delivered with an incorrect power adapter or that the sound can be activated through my portable speaker? Help please...

    Hello

The screen itself has nothing to do with external speakers

    https://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=Oq5EJUV9Rqw

and you have to deal with external speakers as of different devices, not a single unit with the monitor. What is the model of speakers? Normally, they should have their own power supply, and you must connect directly to your computer, not through monitor as you can see in any case no port.

Please try to connect the speakers DIRECTLY using the helmet on your laptop. I think it's a promotion complement (or throw in). Speakers and monitor function as two different units.

    Kind regards.

  • Need help to connect the monitor to Dell Inspiron Dell

I recently bought a laptop computer Inspiron 17R in order to reduce the use of my laptop Precision M6600. A Dell U2312HM monitor has been used precisely as a second monitor and I want to use with the Inspiron system newly acquired as a second monitor. The different video ports on both of these computers and I failed to get the monitor to work with the Inspiron. While the accuracy using an older VGA connection, the new Inspiron using a HDMI connection. To further complicate the issue, the monitor has several ports to connect to a source of video output, which includes the DisplayPort, DVI, VGA and ports for USB connections upstream and downstream, but not including HDMI. I used a DisplayPort to HDMI Cable adapter trying to to connect the Inspiron to the monitor, but could not produce an image on the screen of the monitor. This continuous monitor to answer correctly when it is attached to the precision via the VGA cable & port so I'm confused as to why I had no luck by attaching the monitor to the new system with the adapter DisplayPort to HDMI. How can the Inspiron 17R be connected to the monitor Dell U2312HM?

Computer output HDMI cannot convert a monitor of DP (DisplayPort) using a straight through cable.
What you have purchased is designed to do the opposite.

  • Connect the monitor to the laptop with displayport/DVI

Help, I have a laptop Dell 1749 Studio. The machine is less than a year. There an i5-520 with 8 GB and Intel HD graphics. I connect to a monitor ACER X233H. I used the VGA connector on the laptop but wanted a more secure connection. I bought a Displayport DVI cable, but the monitor says "No Signal" I googled around but not found help with Win7 system.

The photos are interesting. According to the photos, the cable connector is a DL-DVI-D, and the monitor is a DVI - D. I wonder if that causes problems?

I have an old Samsung 203 b monitor. The monitor has the same connector DVI - D, like the ACER. I downloaded the driver on the Samsung site, on the laptop. When everything is connected, the laptop does not detect the Samsung. The message reads 'another display not detected. This is an another can of worms that I won't do side followed with.

Time to try another cable, I think, with a regular DVI - D connector.

  • W2371d: Failed to succcessfully connect the monitor to the laptop

Hi all. I received the beautiful 23 "W2371d monitor for Christmas. I succumbed by plugging on my Sony laptop series F. I have installed the cd information and cable connected to another. The VGA and DVI displays no signal. Another thing that appears is a color banner that says check the video cable.  Then the screen keeps going to standby mode... I'm puzzled. Any suggestions?

Without a more complete Sony model number, it would seem that you have available VGA or HDMI.  Normally, the laptop will identify when an additional monitor is connected.  Try looking in the Windows 7 display options (right click in an empty area of the desktop and then choose "screen resolution").  The screen in the following box will show what has been detected available for display.  Or choose the "Detect" button, it should indicate if the HP monitor is detected and the computer screen.

  • How do I connect the monitor 3 on Windows XP

We want to install a third monitor on a desktop with Windows XP.  We are currently implemented with two monitors.  Tried upgrading to Win 7 with the new video card & disaster struck.  Went back to XP.  Some configurations or hardware I should look at?  Any advice?

    Hello

Only high-end graphics cards are capable of supporting more than 3 monitors. You can use your favorite search engine to look for one, we cannot recommend a particular material, but keep in mind that the most recent have no drivers for Windows XP support.

Warning: using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. • Pavilion 23tm - connect the speakers but connection problem

I have a Pavilion 23tm connected to an Asus S550C laptop. I did not like speakers of the flag so I wanted to connect a pair of Bose multimedia speakers.

To use the speakers, I can't use the HDMI cable to connect the monitor to the laptop but would need to use DVI monitor. The problem is that the laptop is not a DVI input (it has VGA) and the monitor does not have a VGA input.

Is it possible to bypass the monitor speakers by using the HDMI connection?

    Or what should I do?

DOH! Figured it out. Is there an easy way to disable the speakers to the monitor using the software.

  • 750se envy: envy of the brand new office no signal to the monitor via HDMI

Just got my new 750se envy and 25 x 25 backlit monitor. After putting it all together, I connect the monitor of the Tower via HDMI. Tower boots, display lights, I pop in setting up the drive, but the monitor says that it cannot find a signal. I test my old monitor to the new Tower (a monitor of series pavilion aged 7 years). Same results. The Tower seems to be the treatment given that you can hear what it read the disc.

I take another hdmi cable and and test exactly as described above. New monitor, new Tower and new hdmi cable still no signal. Old monitor, new Tower and new hdmi cable still no signal.

Just to be sure, I plug my new monitor to my old HP Pavilion desktop computer. Tower lights up as usual, and the new monitor immediately comes to life with color. I can safwly guess it's the tower. I open the side panel and check all jacks to make sure they are warm and fully attached. Nothing seems to be loose or out of place.

I start to sting online for answers. I met this reset of the BIOS. Press F10 to 8 seconds, down, 3 times arrow, enter twice and restart. Nothing. Still no signal. Can I assume there is something wrong with the Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 and windows the cause? Maybe turn hdmi ports are messy? It was the only other subjects I really found on the issue. Everything seems to work, just no signal between the monitor and Tower.

Since it is a relatively new machine, instead of hurt for hours to fix yourself, why not just let HP repair at our expense!

You must contact the HP Customer Support directly so they put you in contact with HP Tech Support to see what they can do on the diagnosis and repair of your machine remotely.

I did recently, and HP technology was able to remotely access my PC on the Internet and to make the necessary repairs.

  • Connecting 2 monitors to a p7 - 1446 s

I have a p7 - 1446 s running 64-bit Windows 8. I want to connect 2 monitors. I have 1 VGA port and HDMI 1 monitor. I have to add a video card and if so, what will work with this machine. How can I disable the graphical subsystem integrated?  I have a XFX more edition of cards which has now an ATI Radeon HD 5450. He recommends a source of power of 400 watts and the machine has a 300 Watt installed.  Will this work? Thank you.

Here are the specifications of your desktop HP Pavilion p7 - 1446 s. According to the specification, this model has a DVI - D output (digital only) and a VGA (analog only) output as shown below.

    (3) / VGA (analog) (4) - DVI - D (digital)

I want to connect 2 monitors. I have to add a video card and if so, what will work with this machine? NO, you don't need a graphics card to support two monitors.

How can I disable the graphical subsystem integrated? Integrated video is automatically disabled when a discrete PCIe x 16 graphics card is installed.

My graphics card recommends a source of power of 400 watts and the machine has a 300 Watt installed. Will this work? NO, you need at least a power of 400 w.

    Please provide the brands and model numbers full of monitors you plan on connecting to your computer. Assuming that you have a VGA monitor and a HDMI, you buy an adapter or a HDMI-DVI cable. Connect the monitor to the computer as follows;

    Computer > DVI-HDMI > HDMI monitor

Computer > VGA cable > VGA monitor

    Please send Bravo

  • HP Pavilion 27xi monitor: monitor HP Pavilion 27xi: Mac Mini running Yosmite display problem

    Hello @adsben,

I understand that the image quality for your HP monitor is poor when connected to your Mac Mini, and I'd be happy to help you in this case!

According to this document on the use of Monitors HP on a Mac:

"The HP monitors are not supported in a Mac environment. However, recent Macs use graphics with VESA modes and can display most of the HP LCD monitors. To do this, connect the monitor to the Mac, while the Mac is turned off and then turn on Mac. The monitor must operate at 60 Hz. The INF and software for the HP monitor are for Microsoft Windows and cannot be run in a standard MAC OS environment. »

    I hope this helps!

My screen has turned pink. Would it be a bad screen?

Bad track or show the wrong adapter.  If you connect the monitor to another computer and the screen is pink while the monitor is bad if you connect another monitor well known on your computer and the screen is pink then the graphics card is bad.
