  • Free remote desktop to control windows 7 PC with my android phone?

Hey I was wondering if there is a free program for Remote Desktop for my windows 7 PC, so I can access my computer to my android phone? I can't control my computer, just access it from another server. For example, if I'm on the app on my phone, I want to be able to use my computer at the same time, separately. Most applications only act as a remote control to navigate / control you computer and you can watch the mouse move on the screen, which is not what I want. If anyone can help please I could use it. Also if you are confused, let me know and I'll try to rephrase or better to explain it. Please and thanks in advance.

You then need a server operating system.  http://www.Microsoft.com/windowsserver2008/en/us/RDS-product-home.aspx

Probably, the company uses a combination of roaming profiles or RDS so that you connect in a Virtual Machine.

  • Connection remote desktop has appeared in my Start menu, but I don't use it, does that mean someone else has had access?

I sat down at my computer today (I'm the only person who uses it) and pulled the top of the start menu. There were four programs listed there that I have not used for several months:

    Remote Desktop connection
    Dreamweaver MX
    Freehand MX
    MS Office Picture Manager

In my opinion, that means that someone had access to my system.

Can I change my remote desktop connection to protect against this, or is a more complete analysis of my machine required?

The remote desktop connection settings include providing everyone the read and Read & Execute access. If I remove these options that will make me safer? Skype uses this access (this is the only thing that could, I think I use)?

I went to system properties and remote access disabled.

  • Need help to set up a network between two Windows 7 computers

I have two Windows 7 computers at home: one is a desktop computer that is connected directly to the internet (with a network cable), and the other is a laptop computer that is not directly connected to the internet with a network cable.  We have a configuration of wireless network for your laptop is set up of this network and has internet access.

What I want to do is set up a network between the two of them, so that the laptop can access the printer that is directly connected to the desktop computer.  I got this configuration when both computers are Windows XP, but since we their past to Windows 7 I can not it works.  I tried to create a home network, I set the printer on sharable and given him a name, but I can't access it on the laptop.

The printer is actually a photocopier, but it is directly connected to the desktop computer.  In fact, it is connected to the router than the phone company provided.  But we want the laptop to be able to access it and use it.  As I said, we had this configuration when these computers are computers Windows XP, but I tried following the instructions to do this for Windows 7 and I can't make it work.

Also, I'm not that computer savy, so please if you tell me to run a program it please tell me how to find and launch this program.

    Thanks for any help.

    Hello

Welcome to the Microsoft Community Forum.

Before you start with the troubleshooting steps, I would need some information on the subject, so that we can better help you.

    1. What happens exactly when you try to access the shared printer on the network home?
    2. You receive an error message/code?
    3. Have you tried sharing the computer and using collective housing resources?

As you mentioned, you can share printer for two other computer running on Windows 7, you can check the items below that will provide you with information on how to work with the host group, and also another article that will you provide steps on how to share a printer on the network.

    Homegroup from start to finish

    Share a printer

Hope that the information provided is useful. Let us know in case you need additional assistance.

    Thank you.

  • Connection remote desktop has stopped working

I'm used to be able to connect via the desktop remotely from my computer Windows 7 on my Windows XP computer. Both machines have been recently updated (Windows updates) and now remote desktop doesn't work anymore.

After that the two machines reboot their updates, I tried to connect to the Windows XP computer.  I got a dialog box on my Windows 7 machine (which was never released before) titled "Windows security" and asks me to enter my credentials. It shows my username (which is displayed correctly), and give me the ability to use another account.  There is also a small box downstairs that allows him to "remember my credentials".  As I said, I've never seen this front window.
When I put my password it comes up with another dialog box that reads 'fixing remote connection', where he stops, then fails stating that "the connection attempt has failed."
I checked on the remote computer (XP), that he will accept Remote Desktop connections.  I checked my username and password I use are correct.
I went back to my machine windows 7 and tried to use remote desktop.  This time, I never had the Windows 7 dialog box (one titled "Windows security") it displays the Windows XP login screen (which is what it normally does).  I was able to connect properly.
Now, today, I tried to use the desktop remotely again, but again got this dialog "Windows security" Windows 7 once again and the same problem everywhere.  I can't connect to the XP machine more.
    Any idea what's going on?

  • Some icons on the start menu are missing after a remote desktop session in Windows 7

I use Win7 Pro SP1 and whenever I come back to my office after finishing a session desktop connection to my computer remotely, I noticed several of the icons in the all programs from the Start Menu section changed to default page icons. If I try to open any programs that are pinned to the start itself, it will indicate that the program cannot be found. Notepad and Calculator in particular to keep more victims of this problem.

I also noticed that the audio controller is disabled until I restart.

I found a batch file that will rebuild the icon cache, but this very annoying to have to keep doing it because I have to remote into my computer almost every morning for the daily scrum meetings we hold in a conference room.

  • What is the fastest way to transfer files between two Windows 7?

I have two machines windows 7. I use LAN to copy files. It is only 140 Kbps. Then I use TeraCopy to the task. The speed is now 410 kbit/s. It is still too slow to copy a 80 GB of files via the LAN.

    You have any good ideas?

I Googled that there are a lot of said articles file copy Windows 7 via the LAN is slow as it is the case, is it?

I tried to use Windows Easy Transfer. Well, I do not see the speed, and I don't know how long it will take for the transfer file either.

I want to see a better plan and advice.

    Hello

Transfer of files from one computer to another depends on many factors such as the speed of the computer and the method you choose to transfer the file.

  • Between two Windows 7 computers to sync Outlook 2010?

Specifically, my aim is to synchronize "Outlook 2010" calendar, Contacts (including 5 subdirectories), tasks, and notes between 2 computers on Windows?

I have a desktop computer and a laptop. Both Windows 7 and Outlook 2010.  Both are on my home group.  I currently use the Briefcase to synchronize specific Document files between the two computers.

(I'm currently syncing my Palm Treo 850 to my desktop, then to my lapstop via Mobile Device Center but the Outlook Contact (5) subfolders used to synchronize without new version Pocket PC 2010 - not yet published.) Only the main folder synchronization / by default.  Therefore, I must find a new solution until the Pocket PC 2010 is available for a full synchronization.  Unfortunately, new mode sync from computer to computer could exclude them have Outlook Contact subfolders on my phone well.)

    Help?

    Gwen

The key element to keep Outlook in sync on both machines is the. PST file. It contains everything. If you want your home Outlook even as your work in Outlook, make a copy of the. PST file to work (make sure that Outlook is closed when you do this), take the said copy home with you, set a folder where it will not overwrite your existing. PST file, then open it with Outlook using ' file | Open | Outlook data file "."  You now have two options:

    1. drag and drop what you want to work. PST at home. PST to their doing the same thing or,
    2. this new set. PST default file and just continue to use it.

There are a number of third-party tools that will do the synchronization, as see you in the link that I sent, but most cost money.

On the cell phone, you have reached the limit there is no way to sync subfolders of Contacts; It is a limitation of Windows Mobile and has no good workaround solution.

  • Connection remote desktop and printing problems

    Hello

I use Windows 7 on my desktop and also connected to Windows Server 2008 R2 to run applications in Windows Server. However, I have noticed there is problem with printer problems. Sometimes, when I tried to print some documents with applications in Windows Server with my printer in my room, connected to the desktop computer, it won't work.

Besides, I need to go to Windows Server, restart the Printer Spooler Service component, so it does not yet. It is a pain.

I also noticed there is to wait about 30 seconds to process any document to print.

Unlike if I print documents directly from my local desktop computer that is running Windows 7 and is connected to a local printer, it takes seconds to print.

My office is connected to Windows Server 2008 via LAN. I wouldn't have such a significant delay in printing.

I also wonder why Printer Spooler needs to be restarted when the printer does not work.

Can someone advise me on this? Peut - what Microsoft looks at this problem and release updates to fix the bug to improve the system?

    Thank you

    Kind regards
