  I have updated from Windows 95 to Windows XP Home Edition, after that my hard drive crashed on my old computer. I had a rarely used, but more recent computer wiped and had XP reloaded with works for Windows 95.  Whenever I have print in Microsoft Works 4.5 of the window, I get the 'documents and settings of the printer do not match. Size and orientation of the page for your printer do not match the settings in your document and the size of the page.  Looks like there will be a simple way to solve his problem. Please notify. I am able to print. But after 3 weeks of this message, I final received a fatal error of Microsoft works just after printing. I think it came from this problem. Not sure. I'm not a technical person.   If you haven't done so already, try the following.

  From the desktop, hold down the Windows key and press R.  In the run window, type services.msc and press to enter.  Scroll down to the print spooler service, right click and select Properties, then click the Stop button.  Now search for C:\Windows\System32\Spool\PRINTERS, then delete the work inside this folder - you may need to click a command prompt to get the authority to open the PRINTERS folder.

  Restart the computer and you should find that the document has been deleted.

  I export a PDF from InDesign. The PDF looks fine, but when I print it seems as if a degraded border has a stroke applied. In InDesign, I confirmed that the race is 0, but I still get a slight black line when printing. In addition, it seems only to print our high quality color printer - when I print from an old black and white there is no line. Can anyone think why this might be?

  I can also confirm the problem here on my printer Adobe PostScript 3, using Acrobat 7, 8 and 9. The problem goes away if I turn on the option 'Print as Image' in the Acrobat Advanced Print dialog box. If your black and white printer is not a PostScript device, it is actually doing the same thing. (Note that I do not mean 'Print as Image' as a good solution because it can change the color output, may take long time to print, and if you send the file to someone else to production, it might be difficult to guarantee that they will do the same.)

  The line occurs on the lower edge of a raster image that was created by the flattening of transparencies Adobe to simulate your gradient in a 1.3 PDF (flattened). I would say either try PDF 1.4 or higher. If it is not acceptable for some reason, I would suggest making sure that gradient background will completely to the bottom of the page AND the gradient fade to something else than white (for example, 0 C, 0.5 M, 1.0Y, 0 K). If all goes well, which results in the raster image created by flattening to extend completely to the bottom of the page and put the mean line off the page...

  The error you get at the end of the restoration of the system is typical of some anti-virus programs (Norton, especially) that interfere with the restoration of the system.  Try to start your computer in Mode safe (on several occasions, key to tap F8 while your computer starts) and run safe mode system restore.

  Additional information is necessary to treat your network problem.  Try to bring up a command prompt (start-> Run-> "cmd") or if it does not, try (start-> Run-> "command.com") and enter the command:
  ipconfig/all
  and after the info that appears in the State resulting.

  Also, check the logs of your system related errors (start-> Run-> "eventvwr.msc") and click on 'System' in the left column.
