  Assuming you are using iCloud, in a browser go to icloud.com and connect and see if they are there.

  If they try to go into system preferences > iCloud and uncheck and recheck the Contacts. If not successful, disconnect from iCloud and reconnect

  When you disassemble a machine for sale, the only Mac OS X can be installed without providing WHAT YOUR Apple ID is the original version it comes with.

  You can not install ElCapitan in this situation, what is left as an exercise for the buyer.

• MacBook Pro has started to randomly stop when it is on battery since the upgrade to El Capitan

  I have a MacBook Pro (15 inch, early 2011) which works very well on the Mountain Lion for a long time. I finally got round to upgrading to El Capitan last week: directly to 10.11.6. A few days later he just powered down without warning while I was working. He was so very well for a few days, but then made several times in the last 48 hours.

  I am moderately sure it happens only when it is on battery (it did not in the past hours 8 while that plugged). Whenever it happens, that there is no warning and the Mac then fine restarts (manually) - Although the clock resets always in 1970 until he can contact an NTP server. One of the curious side effects is that my PostScript fonts were blank on the screen in Excel for a few reboots yesterday but then OK once again!

  No hardware has changed. Major software change is only El Capitan and possibly an iStat Menus update.

  I have reset PRAM and SMC. I ran the short AHT. I disassembled the machine and clean the fans. they were OK, but the problem seems to occur when the Mac is hot.

  Spotlight and Time Machine sometimes seemed to be struggling for the upgrade, and I also saw rpcsvchost with 100% of a core for a while. The machine feels sometimes slow - but for the last 8 hours, it was very good. The only model that I put in place, is that it seems to occur only on battery; It's even happened then that the Dock (etc.) were loading after logging in after an unexpected shutdown.

  A negative stop code generally indicates a hardware failure. Have the Apple to assess your Mac. The fix may be as simple as a spare battery.

  Reset the SMC has been a great step in this situation.   An intermittent connection problem became constant after a week of using the computer.  My router DLink DSL (model 2750B) is two feet away from the computer.  In the system preferences / iCloud, I get "There was an error connecting to server Apple ID" my MacPro, iPad Samsung Galaxy S7 and Air 2 all connect with the same router wireless without any problem. (All my OTHER computers connected also with the same Apple ID and password without problem.  IMac 2012, MacPro, 2012 MacBook Pro, iPad 2 and the new iPad 2 Air)) I have a screenshot of the error message "None of your preferred networks are available" and in the same time to a list of all available networks, including my own.  Several times, I click on my network and get the response "the xxxxxxnetwork could not be contacted."

  I solved problem with Verizon, my provider, yesterday, and the routine test found that I have an intense tone, but the computer could not complete the test routine.  I ran "Diagnoses" several times this evening - this is after 23:00, and the report suggests that I will review wi - if recommended (fact), that I have a crowded WiFi channel (almost anyone else is in the building at this late hour) and I have to reboot the router (I did several times) and that maybe I should join a Wi - Fi network network that is associated with the Internet (like mine that works for all other devices.)

  Any suggestions on how to solve problems, or I would return the computer.  It's beautiful, and I spent a lot of time updating, installation, customization, before this stop of a Wi - Fi.  I had to buy a new router, but tests with Verizon made me doubt that a new router would solve this problem.

  I have a game (canton) on my iPhone 5s and I would play on my mac because of the larger screen. The same edition of the games is available on a Macbook pro, but it will not save the data from my iPhone and it shows as two separate games. Is there a way to get around this?   As Apple is not the developer of this game, Apple has nothing to do with how it works. Contact the developer to see if it is possible to do what you want. If this isn't the case, suggest that they they feel.
