    Hello

It seems that there are a few system files that have trouble.  One of them being mstsc.exe, I wish you find spyware or infection by the virus first, before you try the next step.  Please see the sticky thread in the security forum.  MVP offers some good advice how to remove these problems.

If everything is clean, we will try a repair installation to replace the problem files and also to ensure that other system files are good.

The 'repair' installation (upgrade on-site) will not affect your installed programs or data.  Just make sure that you are already connected to your computer when you start the installation.  Do not boot from the DVD.

If the installation does not start automatically when you insert the DVD, run setup.exe from your DVD player.

    • When the Setup program starts and the install now screen, click install now.
    • Note When you receive the important Get updates for installation message, click go online.
    • Click upgrade when the which type of installation you want? appears

Please let us know if this solves the problem for you.

    Hello

We need more information to help you, please answer the following question.

What is the brand and model of the computer?

Error code: 0 xC0000001 indicates that there could be some problems with the boot device or startup files are corrupt. Most of the new machines come with a recovery partition, allowing you to return your purchase, you will need to check your user guides (or the manufacturer's Web Site) for instructions. Choose this path requires you to save all the data first. The OEM must be able to provide a recovery CD to you at time of purchase.

  • Remote Desktop error: the system cannot find the specified file. C:\WINDOWS\system32\ < LANG_NAME > \mstsc.exe.MUI

Came across an interesting problem this morning. After starting my PC from various applications (OutLook 2002, Management Studio of SQL Server 2008, etc.). I was able to connect to a server by using Remote Desktop (RDP, alias). On trying to connect to a second system, I started getting the following error message:

The system cannot find the specified file. C:\WINDOWS\system32\\mstsc.exe.MUI

Will always be connected to the server, I tried to launch a second instance using RDP, but received the same error message.

I googled the error and found different solutions (the best solution to examine ishttp://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/itproxpsp/thread/164d1e0b-51e6-4201-9dc2-3f4a0ccb14e5), however, none of the solutions seemed to work.

I tried checking the virus/malware, etc, but nothing was found. I tried to re - load the dll and the exe (s), but still not received the error message.

The next solution was to try to see what can be changed on my system (new programs, etc.). I noticed there is an update downloaded to my system (C:\Windows\WindowsUpdate.log): AutomaticUpdates content success install successful and Restart required for the following update: update for Windows XP (KB969084)... the update is related to remote desktop.

I rebooted the system, still not received the RDP error messages. Is I did a complete "install updates and shut down ', and then restarted my system that started working again.

For the record, here is some information on my system:

    XP Professional: Version 5.1 (Build 2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.091208 - 2036: Service Pack 3)

    c:\windows\system32\mstsc.exe: 6.1.7600.16385

I wanted to just post this in case someone else runs into a similar problem...

    Thank you!

I have a machine with the same problem

XP Professional: Version 5.1 (Build 2600

I installed the update for Windows XP (KB969084).

    MSTSC.exe works now

I suggest you try the methods mentioned below and check if it helps:

    Method 1:

These are files update - note the .log extension - logs created sometimes upgrade from Java.

You can read them in Notepad or Wordpad.

Also, they can be removed without problem (only those like jupdate - 1.6.0_21 - b07.log for example).

  • Win 7 by default, the white arrow and the "cursor corrupted files" pop-up windows.

    Original title: Max the mouse

I had a little friendly MS mouse pointer / cursor schema greet me on the initialize upward from Win 98 to Win 2000 Milnm, finally to Win XP.  It was simple, little grey mouse that has nibbled cheese if the program was busy.  Since the abandonment of Win XP, I bought a Dell E6440 with Win 7 Pro installed. I used a USB transfer cable / program to migrate settings and files above. My favorite mouse pointer scheme is not. I tried to change my plan of cursor recorded, but Win 7 by default, the white arrow and the "cursor corrupted files" pop-up windows.

Someone at - he saw this original classic pointer / cursor for Win 7 64 bit?

Thank you, Mr. Singh. That did not help.  But for the record, I finally found the correct cursor plan I was looking here: http://www.rw-designer.com/cursor-set/mouse download a .zip file that I had bad access to when you change the pointer of the mouse, but resolved by downloading each schema of cursor .ani and .cur individually on the site. I used this from Win 98 to Win XP.

I get the following message appears when I try to start a remote desktop connection (the shortcut target is % windir%\system32\mstsc.exe).

The system cannot find the specified file. C:\WINDOWS\system32\\mstsc.exe.MUI

I have a Dutch version of Windows. The mstsc.exe.MUI file is available in C:\Windows\System32\nl-NL

It was not available in C:\Windows\System32\nl, but after that I copied it on I still get the same message.

I even copied the entire content of the... \nl_NL folder in the... weather folder and still no luck.

Isearched the internet for more solutions but nothing has solved the problem.

    Thank you

    John-Pierre

    OK problem solved.

I ran the scan of the updated and all updates already installed.

I checked the list of updates installed and already had KB2592687, KB2574819 installed.

However, when I looked under installed updates, it showed KB2592687 and 3 others in English while I have a Dutch version of Windows.

So I decided to uninstall the updates English 3 so I could reinstall it again.

"Note that after uninstalling these 3, Remote Desktop already worked again.

Apparently, these 3 uninstalling uninstalled a lot more, because after a reboot, there were 10 updates available instead of only 3 that I uninstalled). And after installing them and another restart there was even more updates available. Overall, it took three update sessions and restarts all up-to-date again.

Although the list of installed updates again 3 updates in English, Remote Desktop works now. So obviously something has went wrong with one of the previous sessions of Windows Update.

    You run a virus scanner?

These programs are known to corrupt big files pushed, which is what you download, even if the file has the extension ".exe".

Disable the antivirus and then download the files, start the virus scanner and try to install.

Another way would be to download the installation program generic Erich you will get files zip or jar files which you can test before you begin the installation.

missing or corrupt file error system32\DRIVERS\pci.sys keeps appearing. I had a problem with google chrome and then stop everything. This error appeared. It tells me to use the cr rom boot but xp was already loaded on the sony vaio that we bought a few years ago. If your data is not backed up, then at some point that the data will be lost.

Your Sony are delivered with a hidden restore partition or recovery disks, but I do not think that the Sony recovery allows to repair an installation of win, only pure install.

You must remove the drive and it slave on another PC in order to retrieve the data, or take it to a decent repair shop for them to do it for you
