CQ71 - installation of the recovery Kit

Does anyone know if Win7 is pre-activated on HP Recovery Kit discs?

I have a CQ71-314SA with problems of nasty virus that killed the system partitions and recovery, also my recovery discs have been scratched and are unreadable. To make things worse, the COA Win7 sticker is worn out and I can make only the ends of the license key for installation from a normal Win7 oem drive is not an option.

See you soon

Hello

If you reinstall using a set of HP recovery disks, it will activate automatically, so you will not have your product key.

You can order a set of replacement recovery disks using the link below.

http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c00810334

If you have a problem with this link, order them directly from HP.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

Kind regards

    Hey,.

I recently bought a Toshiba laptop computer, everything worked perfectly until my laptop was attacked. I've got rid of the virus and went to reformat due to a lot of problems that occur. The main one being a mistake has cursed and 'Blah blah' program must be closed. As I continued to get loads of errors.

Now then reformatting disk Toshiba said just put the disk in the drive and turn off. I did very well. The said toshiba drive press F12 on startup and then click on run the CD. The CD starts and gets half way thro reformatting.

Suddenly, I get a blue error screen. I thought oh well ill reboot and continue. This is where the problem started. Because I was half way thro removal/reinstallation of windows I was missing some files. I'll reinstall or try to use the Toshiba CD, I get a blue error screen.

Defective memory (including main memory, L2 RAM, RAM video cache memory) or incompatible software (including remote control and antivirus software) might cause this stop message, as may other hardware issues (for example, incorrect SCSI termination or imperfect PCI card).

Any ideas what I can do? I don't want to return the Toshiba laptop to fix However im thinking this is the only way out.

Please if repplying try to keep technical language to a minnium. Thank you, Dan.

    Hello

It s very strange because the installation since the Toshiba Recovery CD should work properly and without any blue screen message.
Usually, if the BSOD appears if there is a serious software problem or something wrong with the hardware.
I don t think that the software on the CD of restoration could be corrupted.

Have you tried to install the OS from the original CD of Microsoft Windows? It would be very interesting to know if the blue screen also.

However, I think that your laptop is new and the warranty is valid. In my opinion, you should ask the after-sales Service of Toshiba partner to help him because guys could start the diagnostic test and can find the fault.

  • Launch the program before the installation of the distribution kit

When you create a distribution kit, there is an option to launch an application

    After the installation.

I would like to launch an application BEFORE installation.

Is this possible with the installer?

Specifically, I would like to launch a program to save the configuration

files from the previous installation (which may have been modified

by the user) before allowing the installation of the new software to proceed.

    Thanks in advance,

    O. Marty

Unfortunately there is no mechanism to support this feature. A Variant that I would say is that instead to install your configuration files, you have your application create them if they are not detected. In this way, your installer doesn't have to include them and crushes them. The first time your application is run on a new machine, it detects that files are missing and create them with the default settings. Therefore, it will just read these files in. Your user name can change without fear of losing changes made to an upgrade.

  • Installation of the recovery on laptop with partitions disk

    Hello

I made a partition on my laptop using Partition Magic. What will happen if I use the recovery CD to reinstall the system? The system will delete the partition or will only format and settle on the C: drive. Thanks to advamce

    Hello

As in the previous announcement described the recovery CD provide two types:
Standard recovery mode and expert recovery mode.
Standard mode removes the whole HARD drive, also the partitions.
In expert mode, you can choose which partitions the OS is to be installed.
Then only the files and data on this partition will be deleted.

  • Cannot read the KEY for the installation of the recovery disc.

My Toshiba Satellite has crashed and I have used the recovery disk provided to re - install.  It asks for the product key, but I can't read it on the underside of the computer.  How can I get the key while I am legal with this OS?

    Thank you

    Joe

If you use the appropriate manufacturer recovery system, there is a key (key OEM_SLP) built in work and you should not need the key to the sticker.

  • Bluescreen apears on Satellite A40 after installation of the recovery CD

    Hello

I have a Toshiba A40, and I tried to restore the system to factory with product CD recovery setting. The booted CD systems and you are prompted for an installation which was then completed and asked to restart the computer.

However, after a reboot, the PC is not booting. A blue screen appears with a message that "Windows cannot be started due to some problems. Please check viruses or hard drive '.

Then I started the PC with another disk bootable CD and checked for the latest anti-virus that doesn't show anything. Then I run SCANDISK on the hard disk and it doesn't show the problems.

    Could someone please advice?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

It is perhaps a silly question, but have you used the right Toshiba Recovery CD designed especially for the computer laptop satellite A40?

I read many threads here in the forum about people who has recovered or tired to get the phone clean with different and wrong Toshiba recovery CD s.

After this procedure the laptop will not work properly and the BSOD could if poster because drivers preinstalled on the image of Tosh are not compatible with the laptop!

If I m well to remember this old book was offered with Vista and recovery image was recorded on the second partition of HARD drive in the folder called HDDRecovery.
    This file is always available?
Original recovery disk can be created if the laptop to factory settings, pre-installed Toshiba disk creator tool and recovery recovery image stored on the HARD disk.

Of course, I don't know what it looks like with all this, but you can try to find this Toshiba tool and check if the creation of recovery disks is possible. If this isn't the case, then you have a problem.

In General original recovery disk can be ordered on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx but I don't know if you can order it for this older model laptop. Check it out.

  • HP pavilion dv6-7029wm recovery kit lose after changing the hard drive

    Hello

Recently, I changed the hard drive after the old one crashed, so I need the recovery kit, but the site it says shipps only in canada or the United States

as I left the States, how can I get them?

where can I download the recovery image and burn it to a DVD?

    Hello

Another option that you might consider is to create your own Windows 7 installation disc.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

An example of a COA label can be seen here.

You can create a Windows 7 installation disc yourself using another PC - just download the Disk Image correct ( this must be the same version that originally came with your laptop - it is listed as Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit ) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn ( Note: you can deselect additional software during installation of ImgBurn offerings) to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write that an ISO on a disc is here.  The source of the Windows Image is Digital River.

    Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit SP1.

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA at the request and once the installation is complete, use ' 'phone Method' described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system -this made method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.

  • Cannot start the Recovery Console Windows from the installation CD

On my MacBook I ve running in VMware Fusion 3.0.1 a Virtual Machine with Win XP Pro.

When I reboot Win XP Pro and start again from the Windows XP Pro installation CD, I can see the "Welcome" with the menu screen

-To install Win XP now, press ENTER

-To repair an installation of Windows XP using the Recovery Console, press r.

-To quit Setup without installing Windows XP, press F3.

When I click ENTER or R, I see the message

-The installation program did not find any hard drives installed in your computer. Setup cannot continue. To quit Setup, press F3.

Today the question? In the 40 GB of the virtual machine, I have two free partitions of 10 GB and 20 GB Win XP Pro execution. Why see Setup cannot process this partition?

I ve also installed a second Virtual Machine, but the installation of VMware Fusion not show the "Welcome" screen, but it installs both Win XP Pro.

The installation of the recovery in the virtual race Machine Win XP Pro Console is successful, but when I start the recovery in Start Menu Console, just the screen blue 0x7B (inaccessible boot device).

What must I do, to start the Recovery Console in VMware Fusion? Or another question: when merging does support the Windows Recovery Console?

Wow, nothing indicates that you use a German version of Fusion that your English is excellent.  Anyway as VMware headquarters is in the United States, like me, I always provide information in English and information-specific guidelines in the VMware Fusion help files come from the English version as well as any Documentation from VMware that I reference.  I say this next part as a general and not directed comment towards you, as you have noted your using the German version... Any person requesting help must always at least include technical information referencing manufacture, make, model, version, and language other then English, material goods and software involved in issues.  We'll find a good reference for the type of information that must always be included in HOWTO: ask (and answer) Questions.

As a much get into the BIOS if you use the Fusion 3, you don't need to enter the BIOS to change the boot device as this can be done in the settings now however to enter the BIOS for other things that need/want of press you F2 directly after starting the Virtual Machine and after having clicked on the screen but the av VM boot so fast that it's easily missed.  You can add the following settings to the file of configuration .vmx of the Virtual Machine to slow down the startup so that force once in the BIOS.

    bios.bootDelay = "3000"
    bios.forceSetupOnce = "TRUE"

The bios.bootDelay is in milliseconds and the bios.forceSetupOnce Boolean value is then set to FALSE, automatically.  Each of these parameters are independent of each other.

You can find the following useful notes for this and or other uses...

    ====================

    Notes: keyboard

Different setting function, you may need to adjust various preferences keyboard to work with the function keys and or use the Fn key.

OS X > you may need to press the Fn + F6 etc. and this can be changed in system preferences > keyboard & mouse > keyboard > use all F1, F2, etc...

Merger 1 > VMware Fusion (menu) > Preferences... > keyboard and mouse > activate Mac OS shortcuts keyboard

Notes: Starting the virtual machine from CD/DVD or ISO Image

If the Virtual Machine is not initiating the CD/DVD or ISO Image, and then select the CD-ROM in the Boot Menu.

Engage the Boot Menu and select the CD-ROM drive...

The bottom of the virtual machine just above the status bar after the Virtual Machine is started, it has...

"Press F2 to enter SETUP, F12 for the start-up network, ESC for Boot Menu"

On the status bar, it features...

'To direct entry to this virtual machine, click inside the window.'

BIOS flashing by is very fast so you need to work quickly however give it a try and if the Start Menu cannot be higher then the configuration of the Virtual Machine file .vmx must be edited to slow the STATION and or change the boot order.

OK, click the big Play button on the screen of the virtual machine, and then quickly mouse click in the Virtual Machine screen and then press the ESC key to bring up the Start Menu and select the CD-ROM drive. If it boots the CD very well and if the Boot Menu does not appear, because he goes just to quick access and then try again or...

Watch the Boot Delay section in the current user's Guide to VMware Fusion and the section of the virtual machine files of A Beginner's Guide to VMware Fusion on when the configuration of the Virtual Machine's .vmx file is and add the following lines to the file. TextEdit can be used to edit the .vmx file.

To give more time to indulge, the Start Menu Add the following...

    bios.bootDelay = "3000".

For, once, force the VM in the BIOS to change the Boot order in the BIOS if the CD-ROM is first add the following...

    bios.forceSetupOnce = 'TRUE '.

    ====================

Notes: By modifying the .vmx file

For Fusion 2.x and 3.x ctrl-click the target entry of Virtual Machine on the windows of the library of the Virtual Machine and choose Show in Finder and then Ctrl-click on the packaging of the Virtual Machine and select to display the contents of the package.

By default in the normal Fusion 1.x virtual Fusion function file are created in the folder "~/Documents/Virtual Machines" and according to host operating system version and or Fusion worm. There may be a .localized after Virtual Machines although by default, this extension is not visible in the Finder.

    ~ Is your Home Directory.

The files that make up the virtual machine are placed in a folder (aka Bundle and or packing) bearing the extension '.vmwarevm' which, by default, this extension is not visible in the Finder.

Example: "~/Documents/Virtual XP.vmwarevm Machines/Windows" in the Finder would just resemble an icon named "Windows XP."

To view the contents of the entire file "Windows XP.vmwarevm" ctrl-click (or right-click) on the "Windows XP" icon and select Show the contents of the package.

To change the configuration file of .vmx ctrl-click (or right-click) on the "Windows XP.vmx" file and select open with > choose another... then in Application choose TextEdit.

Note: If you use Firefox do not copy and paste the parameters if TextEdit unless you copy only the exact line and nothing else in the case, use an editor such as TextWrangler.

    ====================

Notes: Creating an ISO Image of the CD/DVD drive

When you use utility disk in order to have a bootable ISO Image, you must select Master CD/DVD without encryption in which case by default, it will have an extension .cdr file and in version 1.1 of the merger and later does not need to be changed in .iso, although one can if one chooses to. A default .dmg image is compressed and is not bootable, as an uncompressed .dmg will start if changed in .iso and of course the source CD/DVD should be bootable in the first place.

To create an ISO Image using disk utility...

1 insert the CD or DVD disc into the optical drive of your computer.

    2. open disk utility (/ Applications/Utilities/Disk utility).

    3. Select the CD or DVD drive in the list of disks and volumes.

    4. Choose file > new > "Disk Image from (name of the disc)."

    5. type a name for the disk image.

    6. choose "DVD/CD master" from the Image Format pop-up menu.

7 choose "none" from the encryption pop-up menu.

    8. click on save.

  • Pavilion 4070 - us: new hard drive for the recovery disks do not work! Help!

Hi - the hard drive on my Pavilion 4070 - crashed us, so I bought a replacement - a Samsung SSD 850 EVO, 256GB drive.  The problem is that I can't seem to get the recovery disks to work, and neither Microsoft nor HP is willing to help me.  Of course, Microsoft tells me they don't give me any help for Windows7 OEM versions and HP said that my product is no longer supported so they do not help me.  This is ridiculous - I own a legal copy of Windows 7 and I can't get any help from the company who sold me the computer?

What happens when I go through the process of installation with the recovery discs, is that instead of the Windows installation continue as it is supposed to, I have "no boot device - insert boot disk and press any key any."  I'm desperate, I tried two different options - one was the minimum image recovery, the other was a factory restore.  Nothing seems to work. What can I do?   Moreover, the original hard drive is not * completely * dead - I can still access most of the data on it.

  • Spectrum of HP x 360: creation of Recovery Kit

    Hi all

I just bought a spectrum HP x 360 running Windows 8.1, with no recovery DVDs provided.

I noticed that the recovery Kit must be created on the USB stick with a capacity less 32 GB (even it the necessary space is 22 GB?) I don't remember the steps between 16 and 32...) or DVD.

Is there a way to create an image and save it to a hard drive? I am not internal nor external DVD burner, and I don't understand how not to use a 32 GB USB...

And what happens if I need to change the M2. SSD? What kit would be of any use?

  • P2-1033W not answer during recovery using HP Recovery Kit

I try a system recovery using the HP Recovery Kit. Windows 7 is the operating system.

I insert disc 1 into the computer and it seems to start the process. In a few minutes, he gets to a screen similar to sunlight at the top that shines through a blue sky and the rest of the way. There is no HD activity light or a message on the screen. Only the mouse cursor is on the screen. I want to know if it of the way the process works, or is the computer hung up? The screen is this way for more than 45 minutes. The instructions say the process can take two hours, but it does not say what should I see on the screen if anything.

Sorry for the delay in response to your suggestion.

I tried to use the hard disk recovery program. However, the program has never worked for me. I received a message stating that "Recover Manager cannot restore your computer by using the original image. Please contact HP support. "Error code: 0xe0ef0003" this is the reason why I bought the recovery Kit.

My final solution was to use a new HDD (WD 500 GB) with the recovery kit. I always had problems with the program past fashionable unanswered. The system seems to lock up periodically. I decided that I had a memory problem, so I did a test of memory on the system. The memory also hung up test. I removed the memory stick of 1 GB and run the test again. This time she completed with no blocking. I then put the 1 GB module in the system and run the memory test. This time it completed without any problems. When I finally got the recovery kit program to work once again he completed 100 percent instead of the lock up to 70 percent.

Instructions for use this recovery kit is very basic, in my opinion. HP want me $49.99 for technical support in answering my question on the way to know if the program actually work load. After paying for the recovery kit I considered not just as a good option. I lost a lot of time because I didn't know if the system fails or if it still worked. I would not recommend this system to anyone. If it belongs to my sister, I would have thrown it out the window a long time ago.
