  I brought and downloaded Photoshop elements 14 in March and still learn to use it.  I'm editing a RAW file and tried to use the functions of layers by opening the layers panel. Once it opens, I can see my photo RAW showed that the background layer and was partially closed. I tried to hit the "create new layer button but it is disabled.  Even at the second button, which is the "create new fill or adjustment layer".  I was wondering if it's a software problem? Since I paid because he doesn't understand why some features of the software are disabled.  Help, please!

  Elements has never supported 16 - bit layers.

  This has nothing to do with trial versions.

  When you change in the raw converter, you can set the menu in the middle of the bottom line to 8 bits.

  Or you can open 16 - bit, use the global changes of the editor without layers (the only edits where 16-bit is useful) then convert 8 - bit to layer or detail work.

• Photoshop CS6 creates new layers when cropping

  When I crop my picture CS6 today creates a layer.  If I check the history, there is no sign that a layer has been created, just cropped, however if I check under layer, "Flatten Image" is highlighted.  How do I get rid of this, just started today.

  Layer 0 is the only layer that displays in the layers panel after crop you the image or is there still a 'Background' layer below layer 0.

  Photoshop CS6, the crop tool has been refined. There is an option that allows you to 'not' to remove the trimming pixels when you crop - which means that your image data is not lost - you can return to the original version at any time. With this feature enabled (disabled by default, it is - look in the menu bar at the top - "Delete the cropped Pixels" will be), your "Background" of the image layer is all simply "unlocked" so leads to "Rename" the layer as the layer "0".

  If you enable the option 'Delete cropped pixels', it will simply get rid of pixel data which you are flush and your layer will remain as 'Background '.

• I can't stop the Blob brush, create new layers, or painting on layers other than the one intended?

  I'm having trouble with the tool BLOB brush. I applied to a layer clipping mask, and I'm pain inside. If I paint touching the object in the layer it works fine, but if it doesn't touch or touches a layer above the I targeted that has the same color, then paint on a new layer, or on the top layer. Is it possible to disable this option? It's frustrating the dick out of me.

  Basically, it's how the blob Brush tool is supposed to work.

  What you could do:

  -isolate an object or a group existing, then paint.

  -block the other layers that you don't want painted.

  I currently work in CS6 however in my old CS2 version and other versions of I have worked with, including CC 2014, I was able to create new layers without the dialog box with the hotkey Ctrl + Shift + Alt + N and I would immediately get a new layer which was interesting because it has helped speed up my workflow of paint.

  However, it has stopped working recently and I've been looking for some sort of solution to this... But nobody else seems to have this problem or is it a shortcut/secret largely unknown or unused. In any case I don't mess with menu keyboard shortcuts, only those for different tools in order to use my graphics tablet and keyboard at the same time.

  Any ideas?

  It's weird that Photoshop won't let you put anything in the shortcut field!

  I'm not reinstalling would solve the problem. Bad behavior is often erased by resetting the preferences do not by reinstalling, but it is interesting to try of course.

This continues and and for each line, it makes a new layer and previous mask. Why he continue to create new layers? I want that all the lines stay on the same layer.

  I guess you can consider a text layer in Photoshop as analogous to a container of text in Indesign or Illustrator.

• cannot create new folders on windows 7

  It started happening a while back and I thought nothing of it, but now it's a problem. Whenever I try to right click on my desktop right click window won't open. It just loads for a while and then it crashes with a "Internet Explorer has stopped working". I don't even use IE and it becomes a big problem because it crasehd click on my pc when I can. Anyone know anything about this?

  It is the answer to not be able to create new folders. If it helps doesnl with IE crashing, make a separate thread on this in the forum IE.

  Had no problems in the past creating new folders in my documents or elsewhere.  Can't do it now.  I tried recovery tool and that did not work.

• Unable to create new folder anywhere on the computer

  Help! I don't know what I did, but I managed to delete/disable my ability to create new folders anywhere on my computer. I have Windows 7 Home Premium. I right click on the desktop, the menu appears, but when I go down to 'create' folders is not yet an option. However, when I open a similar pre-existing record a music or photo foler, the option to create a new folder is there, but the button does not work. Please help me! I am a student and need it works bad!

  The "new folder" is on the menu but nothing happens when you click it.
  Right-click in the library and the NEW is an option, but only the towel is available.

  P.S. unless you have moved the Windows taskbar to the top bar, you are probably talking about a toolbar for a specific program.
