Create problems of recovery using Verbatim DVD + R disc

HP 110-213EA desktop PC.

I have problems, create a recovery disk using the HP Recovery Manager.

I use Verbatim DVD + R discs but recovery manager says that the disc is a DVD - RW

Walter, welcome to the forum.

Sometimes optical drives are picky about the drives used.  I, too, have always used + R discs without any problem.  In fact, they are usually the best option.

Here is a guide that can help you solve your problem.  You will need to use a USB flash drive.  I did my last drive recovery with a USB flash drive.  It has worked well.

Please, click on "Thumbs Up +" if I helped you and click "Accept as Solution" If your problem is resolved.

  • Satellite A300 - how to use the recovery with external DVD drive disc?

    Hello

    I bought a toshiba Satellite A300 - 15 d

FTM the tsscorp drive that is installed in the camera no longer works (does not detect any type of media what so ever). ) need to recover the laptop, so I used a USB DVD drive to boot from the restore disc, but after that the charges of recovery console it says waiting for media in the f: drive, which is the tsscorp drive although I used an external drive to load the disc.

What files should I edit to make it to load from the drive externally and if this isn't the solution, what do I do?

    Thanks in advance

    Hey Buddy,

Unfortunately I think that it of not possible to use the recovery with external CD/DVD drive disc. Therefore, place the internal for use the recovery disc.
You can get a new drive to an authorized service provider.

But if the original OS from Toshiba is installed, you can use the function of disk recovery HARD reinstall Windows as well. Go to the advanced boot menu (F8) and select Repair my computer :)

Anyway to cut a long story short, I tried to rebuild the system by using a version of windows xp that has been successful, it is now, I found the original recovery disks, but without using the cd drive inward, I had recourse to an external cd drive freecom, I hold the c key at startup , but nothing happens, can anyone help emergency
PS: I made the changes in the Bios to boot from the cd drive

    Hi nichollsr,

in our society, we have 2 Satellite 1110-Z15, and there is a delicate hint for recovery.

Toshiba has made a small mistake and printed the wrong order on the CD. You only need to change the order of the Recovery CD. No.. 1 is no. 2 and vice versa.

Insert the diskette n ° 2, hold down the 'C' key and the recovery is expected to begin. If your laptop does not identify external drive-Freecom CD try to hold the 'U' key to boot from USB.

  • Satellite U400 - failed to create the recovery disk - bad DVD player?

    Hi all

    I have a 13 inch Satellite U400.
Due to problems with my Softkeys, lighting and hibernation status (any help on thos would also be useful) I want to create a recovery DVDs with the Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator.

The thing is: it starts when I have a CD in the DVD drive, but as soon as I put a DVD in (what is needed), it gives me an errormessage that said something like 'another application is using this drive or no disc recording where found in the laptop. 0D00E4-F0-00000000 error code).

My DVD player does not work properly, I can play movies and the drivers and the status is ok too.
I noticed, that error code changes, but I don't know how to get the recovery disk creator will.

What can I do? Change something in the registry?
I don't know what happened on my laptop, I bought a few months ago - new. I guess that, reset everything would bring my softkeys, lighting and hibernation status back.

So, if someone nows how to work at least one of the problems, please give me advice.

    Thanks in advance,

    Hello

Did you create virtual CD/DVD drives with special software? If so, remove the software completely. In addition, if you have installed burning, programs, you should check if they will be started when Windows starts and if so, disable the beginning upward. So go to start > run > msconfig > start. Here, you can disable the start of burning software (for example Nero, CD Burner XP, etc.).

And what DVD are you using for burning? I have good experiences with DVD - R Verbatim and TDK discs. These are high-quality discs and you should try it too!

Last but not least, you need to remove the upper and lower registry filters. It is always advisable to the problems of the CD/DVD drive:
    (1) run Regedit (start-> Run-> Regedit)
    2) go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
    (3) in the right pane, delete the "UpperFilters" key and delete the key "LowerFilters".
    (4) restart.

Depending on your problem with the keys to enlightenment that you should try to reinstall the Toshiba value added Package. This determines the buttons of enlightenment, FN keys and other special functions on your laptop. I had a similar problem with my Qosmio F50 illumination buttons and I posted something on this subject in the Qosmio forum that you should try it too!

I can't create a recovery using Toshiba picture disc. DVDs are dismissed as empty when they are empty. DVD R/W burning OK with Microsoft and Nero software. How can I get a fix for this problem? TIA ZIZOUETZIZOU

TOSHIBA recovery disk can be created with preinstalled Toshiba media recovery ONLY tool creator.

Did you check user manuals document s and the chapter on the recovery media creation?

To create recovery DVDs I recommend you to use empty DVD-R virgins only.

  • Problem creating hard drive recovery

I just bought a new T61 with Vista and went to create the rescue and the proceeds of the recovery disks. Everything goes well until R & R prompted me to insert the fourth disc of the set, how this error came.

Disk is not ready or busy to perform another operation.

Data were not properly stored in the disc currently in your drive. This disk can be is no longer usable.

Click OK; Then, insert a new disc when promotion.

I tried multiple disks, but got the same message. Also tried to restart the process, same thing, but this time from the beginning, IE once the program seemed to try and write on the first disc. Tried to uninstall and reinstall R & R but the same thing. In fact, records that won seem to have some data written to them. Also checked the drive and burn photos to a CD and running a DVD pre-recorded and everything seems fine. I read online that the process will only let you create a set of rescue and recovery disks but I think a full to be up to 8 CD, my process interrupted after 3 and don't work no more?

I guess I can ask Lenovo for a set of disks (if they are really needed), but I wonder if I have a big problem?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Thanks for this review. I tried all this and test to check the drive burns on CD and DVD. Everything seemed to go well with the computer. I even tried to reinstall Rescue and Recovery. But nothing seemed to solve the problem, whereby the disc creation process seemed to stall, hang or crash after only one just a few CD had been burned.  So I called Lenovo Australia and the technician that I talked to was suggested to use a different brand of CD - R. I said that I had done this without success. Then he suggested then I use DVD - R instead. I went and bought some and here it worked first time and without a hitch. So apparently, problem solved, use only DVD-R of for this if you can - drive less anyway.

Either way, Lenovo Australia were not to simply send a set of on-demand recovery discs - it seems that they don't do so when there is a serious fault proved with the hard drive. I have not so far as to ask if I could just buy a set anyway - just in case.

    Thank you

S just put the first disc in the CD/DVD drive and the start of this drive and then follow the instructions on the screen. :)

  • Can I use a DVD + R DL to burn a recovery disk?

I have a HP s5660f desktop computer. Can burn on this disc.

Applies to Windows 7, but may apply to other versions of Windows as well.
Software recovery disc creation creates a set of system recovery discs using DVD blank, recordable (DVD - R or) DVD + R. HP recommends to use blank DVD + R disks. Use a label of the brand from a manufacturer that trust you, because the recovery DVDs is very important. You need about 2 blank DVD + R discs. Disc Creator software program indicates how many discs are needed early in the process.

NOTEnly DVD-R and DVD + R discs are compatible with the program of creation of recovery disks. The following disc types are not compatible with the program of creation of recovery disks: CDDVD-RWDVD + RWDVD-R DLDVD + R DLDVD-RW DLDVD + RW DL

@rleigh... You can't use DVD + R DL (double layer) discs to create recovery discs. These discs are not supported for this operation.

@Starry... You cannot use DVD DL or RW to create on a HP/Compaq system recovery disks.
