cRIO-9012 incompatible IP settings

Hello everyone! I have a RIO that I can't seem to get on with the job. I wish to follow the getting started tutorial found in this document http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/372596b.pdf but can't seem to go beyond the mentioned error. I tried the solutions available in these forums, including:

-Factory reset default settings in safe mode

-Assigning static IP address to the controller

-With the help of dynamic IP parameters

-Perform a DIP switch reset IP

But still, I can't extend the device to the MAX to select the tab of the software to install the disks required for communication. No idea why I can't do?

Take a look at this document http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/A0F6EFF8A33578948625749C006DEC3B

What version of configuration OR system do you currently have? If it isn't OR System Configuration 16.0 Please try installing this patch http://www.ni.com/download/ni-system-configuration-16.0.1/6412/en/

Kind regards.

I have a cRIO-9012 controller and chassis 9101.  I can't perform the basic examples.  My question revolves around game upward.

Background: I have 8.6 with time real/fpga, NIRIO 3.0, NICAN2.6, as well as the 985 x software 1.3.2.  I loaded up the most recent 2008 of NIRIO3.0.0August on my RIO, however running example base reception/emission FPGAs cause time-out errors.  I added another module (9472) just to make sure I can turn some of the visible lights.  However as soon as my typing the CAN node loop this loop freezes all my lights are flashing away.

This morning I thought that to run the example, channel CAN Receive.  I've loaded and sent the channel config in RIO.  I try to deploy the host VI and receive the following:

Deployment RIO0 (the goal settings successfully deployed)
    Deployment ncConfigCANNet.vi
    Cannot download ncConfigCANNet.vi

LabVIEW: Unable to load the shared library nican. *: ncConfig:C on the target RT device.

Here's where I'm confused.  I thought that the VX works system does not support the CAN.  I see not everything CAN be supported under the NIRIO3.0.0August 2008 software, but this error of downloading indicates miss me a driver (or else...)  Someone had a similar problem, I'm missing the software on my controller?  Any suggestion is welcome.

    Thank you.

I have found a new 9853, we received last month.  I could put in the 4 Groove and using my reception and transmit programs successfully.  I could watch the heart CAN, in addition to performing a loop of CAN1 to CAN0 test.

The original 9853 headed on an RMA for NEITHER.  This module is apparently 1 year old.

  • How can I resolve 'Incompatible IP Settings' NI Max?

Hi all, I'm using LabVIEW 2012 SP1, my hardware is a NI 3110 industrial controller, which connects to various Beckhoff EtherCAT Terminals.

I'm having a problem with 'Incompatible IP Settings' NI Max when I try to connect to my goal of RT (NOR-3110 industrial controller). I am able to connect to the target without problem, but be it via DHCP or static IP address, I keep getting 'Inconsistent IP Settings'. I downloaded a few screenshots to imgur album, you can see here. Here is a list of things I've tried (and various combinations):

1 / flipped "IP Reset" switch on the controller, reset it and put the ip of the PC to a static IP address on the same subnet.

2 / hit the 'Safe Mode' switch the Safe Mode boot target and connect.

3 / formatting of the target and reset network through MAX cards.

4 / DHCP configuration where the target has it of own IP assigned automatically and is visible on my network of the University.

To be clear, I am * not * having a problem connecting to my target, it is very easy to connect via DHCP and static IP, but I can't seem to get rid of incompatible IP settings.

I have read many topics Forum and knowledge base articles that suggest that this is usually the result of the IP address of the target and the PC is on a different subnet. However, as far as I can tell this is absolutely * not * the case. The IP address of the target is 10.158.20.8, and the host PC is 10.158.20.x (this varies) and the subnet mask is 255.255.255.0 for IP addresses * are * on the same subnet. I even put it in one of these subnet calculators just to be absolutely sure.

One thing that stood out to me, is when I have the controller connected to the network with DHCP on and it automatically 10.158.20.8, he has a strange subnet mask (see image 4 here), I assumed it would be 255.255.255.0 as when I do ipconfig at the command prompt. Could it be the cause of the inconsistency? If so, can I change?

Also, every time I reset the target thanks to MAX (after the change of the DHCP server to the static IP, or vice versa) MAX does not connect to it again automatically, I have to delete the target and MAX of refreshment and it records again.

The finals 2 screenshots in the imgur album (found here) are the video output of the controller (just connect a monitor with a VGA cable with an adapter). Picture 5 is what I * currently * see and the last image is a screenshot of old, what it * should * look like. In the first splash screen image, the message "error boot disk program initialization" sticks out, which indicates some kind of hardware malfunction? I don't remember when I see a message like this when I originally set up this system.

So in summary, I get 'Incompatible IP Settings' - I tried all the usual suspects, all IP addresses are on the same subnet, etc., it seems that there is some * other * problem which is at the origin of the incompatible IP settings that I can not detect. Any help is greatly appreciated, since I have this error I can't install software to the target, which means that I can not install NI-industrial Communications for EtherCAT, aka I can't do anything until I have fix this. Please let me know if there is additional information, that I can provide as well.

    All the best,

PS, I've created a report to technical support at MAX and it attached in case it is useful for your comments!

Hey thanks for your reply. The images were in an album of imgur related to the position. I tried actually all to connect to the controller, I made sure that my network card has had to function to automatically detect the crossover (apparently it is the industry standard for Gigabit Ethernet cards). I even managed to try two controllers, a colleague had a spare, and finally the problem turns out to be an incompatibility of the software. I borrowed a laptop of University Department and installed the same software I have on my original laptop and tried to connect to the controller and it worked fine, no incompatible IP settings.

From there I could say that the problem was related to the original laptop, since settings incompatible IP was not on the borrowed laptop. I actually ended up completely reinstall LabVIEW on the laptop original just in case it was somehow a facility damaged from somewhere. However, I noticed that a colleague had updated the Configuration of the system NOR to 15.0. If I remember, it is usually backward compatibility to the previous 3 versions of LabVIEW, sort of version 15 with a LabVIEW 2012 SP1 works very well. However, during this new LabVIEW installation (before I updated day NOR Sys Config 15) I checked the controller, and I connected to it fine, no errors. Then I installed the version 15 of the Sys Config and * then * got parameters incompatible IP. The better I can understand, is that it is some sort of bug in verses backward compatibility between OR System Configuration 15 on a LabVIEW 2012 SP1 install. That, or it is related to the fact that the controller I use is waaaay out of fashion and unsupported by certain aspects of our days.

Thanks for your reply anyway, I forgot to post the solution I found here, so I hope that if anyone has this problem, they can check their compatibility of versions and things like that!

  • Read the VISA of RS - 232 on cRIO-9012

    Hi all

I'm reading a GPS signal via port RS-232 on a cRIO-9012. I enclose the simplified code.

The same code works when I run it on my PC (after changing the port) and transmit the GPS signal via a USB port using a series converter / USB. However, when I plug it into the port RS-232 on the cRIO and run it on my cRIO, the buffer seems to be in the wrong format, i.e. some information is read, but it shows some weired characters. Does anyone have an idea on how to fix this?

    Thank you

It seemed that it was a hardware problem. The cRIO-9012 was probably too old/weak/slow to handle communications. Passed to 9022 and it works!

  • Can I use SMB connector in cRIO 9012 as an external trigger source to excite my system?

I use the clock real time of a cRIO 9012 for generate two pulses with a deadline given to fly a lock-in amplifier. Unfortunately, the jitter generates a beat that gets worse the ratio of SN. I would like to use an external source to trigger the system and reduce the jitter. Can I use SMB connector for this?

    Hello

What color is the status light? It is green or amber? According to the manual, a solid status light means the cRIO met a fatal error, which could mean a lot of different things. After you reformatted, you redeploy the code that started this issue? If so, I would try again and do fitness then deploy your exe to boot. In addition, you might want to try to restart the cRIO with the no app switch flipped on the position 'on' and see what happens.

Another good troubleshooting step is to get information via the serial port. Here are instructions for how to do this. If you attach this information to this topic, I can take a look.

I experienced a problem with an application. I think I've isolated the problem in the "Timed loop question - Source Code.zip" attached source code. A detailed list of my results are in the attached document "Timed loop detailed question - Results.docx.

Overview - it seems to be closely related to the IO files and the use of "Timed loops" on the OR cRIO-9012

    1. If I activate the e/s in two loops, then two loops crash simultaneously

    2. If I activate only the e/s in a loop, then only this loop crashes

    3. If I activate the e/s in two loops and make a 'While' loop earrings, then it don't crash

    4. If it is wrote nothing in the file I/o, then it don't crash

    5. If the reference to the file is left open instead of opening and closing on each call, so it don't crash

    6. If I try to run it on "My Computer", then it don't crash

    7. If the IO is only activated in a loop and programmed to wait for one second between the file access, then it always crashes

In my real application, any given row is only writing (at least) once a minute, but I couldn't still my application to plant within a period of 24 hours by writing a single error of a single loop once per minute, with a low CPU use. It was the impulse to test the seventh point above.

It seems that the best solution was to open the reference to the file and let it open. I think it is a good practice in general and I'll do the update in the application. This should solve the problem, but it is very difficult to verify this due to the sporadic nature of the question. As such, I'd like to understand what was causing the problem so I can verify that it was fixed. So far, my attempts to create a single, coherent theory able to explain all aspects of this issue have failed.

I just wanted to know at all that there has been a request for corrective action (CAR #214156) has filed for this issue to be fixed in a future release. This seems to be a problem with the VxWorks operating system, we use in real time. We have additional cRIO chassis which have a Pharlap OS where it does not work. For now, you can search for this CAR ID notes to see if this problem has been resolved for publication in the future.

Currently, there are two solutions, we have identified for this problem:

    1. open the file before the loop and close it after. (recommended)
2 perform file i/o in a normal loop and transfer data to a queue.

  • Computing time on the CRIO-9012

    Hello!

I'm actually under an algorithm on RT using CRIO-9012 with 60 MB of memory and 118 MB approx.what disk space I did it in record time is I used flat sequences. I created three frames of it and placed the resorption in window of 1st and 3rd. My middle manager code. By subtracting the amount of time between the 1st and the last frame to get how much time is taken by my algo. When I only launches on the VI created on the HOST PC, it takes approximately 14ms and if I run it on CRIO RT be close (initially deployed and then run). VX Works is also running on CRIO RT. I assumed that this time should be less time on my computer. If I continually run the VI on RT, time moves at about 1.2 sec I need to know that if I want to know how to find out the exact time taken by my algo when it is deployed on RT? If the memory is improved, it will affect the performance?

RT operating system such as VxWorks is not a guarantee for performance of running faster, all depends on how fast the material is! This particular device cRIO has a 400 MHz processor and 64 MB of RAM. Compare that with your host pc.

What a RT OS gives hard limits on necessary. In other words, you can get a more predictable in your discussions parallel/process jitter, while, as in Windows, the process/thread scheduler is not deterministic.

If someone sold you this system based on the performance and processing speed is, I return it.

  • cRIO-9012 regularly loses connection

I am trying to collect and log data using a cRIO-9012, an analog input module (NI 9209) and a CAN (NI 9853) using Labview RT module.  The cRIO is connected directly to my computer with an ethernet cable.  The problem is that as the main VI is executed, it starts to slow down and finally stops after a certain number of loops.  It tends to stop at the same place every time, leading me to believe that it is a memory problem.  I'm currently no data record (see below), but I'm not sure if the values are stored on board the cRIO without my knowledge.

Here's a screenshot of my troubleshooting VI.  It reads simply 5 analog and entries including VI falls down after about 896 loops (and it can be reproduced).

I don't know if that helps, but it's the VI which is called by the target FPGA above block.

You see the same behavior if you move the FPGA VI open to outside reference of your loop?

    Hello

I have trouble getting the remote façade work.  When I try to view the page in my browser, I get the message "Required VI is not loaded in memory on the server computer." I tried following the steps in the following two links, but I still receive the message.

I wonder if something is set up correctly in my project tree.  I posted a picture (counter_test_v7.vi, is what I'm trying to see the control panel).  Any other ideas?

    Thank you!

    -Brian

    Brian,

What you see is a correct behavior.  What you need to do is to get your e/s of your FPGA to your RT of one of the two methods (as I see you are using LabVIEW 8.5.1 or more).  The first method is to use a control node of read/write on your VI RT to access controls and indicators on your FPGA VI.  The second method is to use a FIFO of DMA for your FPGA VI write its data to the FIFO and have your RT VI read from the FIFO.  These are the methods you need to use to accomplish the task you're wanting.

I would recommend a training Module FPGA base available here: http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/3555#toc5 specific lesson 6.

I'm putting in place a system of vibration using a search of wilcoxon accelerometer 797-33. Is there some setting you have to light to light the target NOR?

I used the getting started with the example of 9233 as base. However, it will only read 0, while the vi is running

The power of the module 9233 is always.  Its successor, the 9234 contains options to be turned off, and by default the 9234 is turned off.  So with the 9233, is always under tension.

You can watch the specific\NI LabVIEW\examples\compactRIO\module 9233 examples for some ideas on coding.
