  • Thunderbird Setup does not start by double clicking on

    Downloaded Setup for Thunderbird 31.4.0
Double-click the installer does not start the installation program (even if a process is created as seen in Task Manager).
The reason for downloading the installation program has been that the automatic update failed to 31.3.0 and asked me to download the installer.

    Platform: Windows 8.1

I tried as admin and also disabling the AV/Firewall.

A reboot solved the problem and I was able to run the installer and install 31.4.0 after the restart. However there is a thunderbird called "Software Update" window that displays a progress bar and says "Download update" & "Connecting to the update server" - but it seems to be stuck there forever.

I killed the process of updating the software and the system now seems to be at peace.

  • Cannot start Windows, Windows Setup does not detect the hard disk, Bootmgr is misiing

I have a few problems on my laptop [Acer 3810 t]

    -The first problem
My mobile give me screen "cannot start windows' who have 2 choices: run the Startup Repair tool and boot normally. I chose to fix it, but nothing happens and stuck "starting windows" and gives unmountable boot volume 'blue screen '. the Dungeon of blues screen appear (for laptop is a not restart). So I turned off my phone and turn it back on it. the "could not start" screen again and I chose to start normally. but the result is negative. My portable Dungeon cannot start windows. Because of that I am using the advanced boot option and choose all the boot type such asit cannot load the safemode, last configuration etc, but the result is the same, you cannot start windows. in safe mode, its stuck in loading fileinfo.sys. I do not give up to try again with the advanced boot option. until I have a bad situation. My laptop can only 1 file in safe mode and blues screen do not appear again (my laptop only return at the beginning of start or restart)

    -The second problem
because it cant solved, I want to reinstall my laptop. My OS is Vista 32 bit (pre-installed). I want to install the new operating system, windows 7. I use Dsik Flash bootable USB to install Windows 7. But in the BIOS, it is detected as a USB HDD. So I set my BIOS to load USB HDD to the first order. the installation can be done, but only until the "start Setup" screen and its deadlock. I have it wait up to an hour, but nothing happens. So I'm going to BIOS, change SATA mode to IDE mode AHCI. Then load the USB and go "installation program start screen. but the new problem is the installation of window does not detect my hard drive. So I can not choose the place to install the operating system. I have to load the driver, but I did not. Again to load the configuration to AHCI and IDE, until I get my HDD can detected in IDE mode. So I think I can move easily, I choose custom installation and choose the hard drive to install the operating system. But unfortunately, at the beginning of the process, after choosing the OS, the Installer gives error if installation location the installation failed. (I forgot the error message)

    -The third problem
So far, I can't spend 'startup begins' as well in mode IDE and AHCI. Also bootmgr in my hard disk is missing, so I can't go to move the startup repair or the startup option in my HDD as before

What is the error code that you got with blue screen?

  • BEFSR41 works, but Setup does not load

    Hi all

    Weird problem.

I have two PC hooked up to the same router, a BEFSR41. Both connect to internet just fine. You can access the page of configuration/admin to the router fine. On the other, however, the router asks you a user name and p/w, but the configuration screen never loads. I get the message "Loading" eternal, but it never gets there.

    Attempted fixes:

    Factory reset

    Firmware update

    Reinstall the NETWORK card

    Pass the CAT5 cable

    Switch port

Cycle of modem, router and power PC

    Disable the firewall and AV

    Tried two different browsers

Login ID and p/w is not incorrect, without typos. I done this 20 times less than today.

I am writing to the PC with the question, while there are of course traffic and communication with the router. And I'll say it again, I get to the login screen every time. She accepts the ID and p/o, but the configuration page itself does NOT load. If I walk through the room and the connection on the 2nd PC, it works very well and I can't acess all the configuration screens.

It's seriously making me crazy. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you!

He solved. I do not fully understand, but I solved it. I'm frustrated and began uninstalling things rather than simply of deactivation.

Problem was the AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition, v9.0.698.

Open the AVG user interface, opening the shield component reside, then uncheck "Active resident shield", receive you a Windows warning that no anti-virus is active, as well as the red shield icon indicating a security problem. Windows Security Center, then opening and inspection of field Virus protection indicates that "AVG Anti-Virus Free signals that she is not".

With this in mind, I was confident yesterday, since AVG told me I had turned off, since I had actually turned off.

    Evil.

A background activity must remain on even when AVG tells Windows that it's off, because uninstall AVG has allowed me to access the router configuration page immediately.

I have reinstalled AVG after confirming that the Linksys configuration page was now available with IE8, FF 3.5.5 and Chrome (it was). Settings by default after reinstall caused the problem to return: router request and accept p/w, but configuration page does not load. Then I started to turn off specific components of AVG from the user interface.

Was of the AVG Active Surf-Shield, which lies beneath the LinkScanner component. Deactivation of Surf-Shield allowed me to immediately access the router configuration page. The problem and the solution are both reproducible by checking and unchecking this box a only.

Stay two free ends (which frankly, I don't like enough about to mess with):

    (1) why doesn't AVG, and therefore Windows, report itself disabled when in fact, some elements of it remain active? The inability to really (and ideally) disbable the program without uninstalling all difficult troubleshooting.

    (2) why is the 2nd PC on the same network can access the router configuration screen, even with AVG Surf-Shield active and running? The only difference is that the PC with the problem solved now rolls AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition v9.0.698 and the PC that never had a problem running v8.5.425. It's curious because both computers have the same version of the virus database and the same version of LinkScanner (145). Remember that this is a component of LinkScanner causing the problem, so that both computers have the same version of LinkScanner is particularly weird.

Thanks for the replies. I saw this question on several message board posts over the past two days, and I hope that this correction is useful to other owners of Linksys.

    Best,

    Krin

  • Setup does not recognize connection to printer

    Hi duckhookob,

OK, if the printer works when you connect it to another computer and then your question has to do with the USB ports on your computer does not. I suggest you contact the computer is built to solve the problems with the computer.

HP has designed a quick and easy tool that diagnoses and solves many problems of printing, scanning and connectivity: The HP Print and Scan doctor. • Error "Setup does not" (Vista)

My Vista SP2 installation down a setback. A culprit is certainly the installation service. It works, but literally, I have to install things all night. And then I get the message "installation program does not.

After searching these forums and knowledge base (and the internet in general), I have not found a solution. Yes, the service is started. I have also not recorded/registered DLL. I scanned to find errors and looked for a spyware (Defender - I've not managed to install my recently bought Kapersky s/w because of this problem).

Are there good 'clean up' utilities that could identify problems / conflicts? I failed to run the Windows Installer Cleanup utility is!

    Thank you all,

    Hi jd_inca,

Thank you for posting your question on Microsoft answers you!

I suggest you try the following steps:

Step 1: Put the computer to boot and check.

Follow step 1 in the link below,

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

If everything works well after a clean boot, you can deduce that some third-party services are at the origin of the problem.

After find you the program that is causing the problem, you will have to perhaps to update or install a newer version of the program, if you rarely use that you should consider uninstalling the software

Important: n ' forget not the computer to start normal follow step 7 in the link.

Step 2: run Disk Cleanup to remove unnecessary files on your hard drive
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/delete-files-using-disk-cleanup

Step 3: Download and install the latest version of Windows install, see the link below:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=5A58B56F-60B6-4412-95B9-54D056D6F9F4&displaylang=en

Try running as administrator-do a right-click on the installation of program files and select run as administrator , click continue if you are prompted to confirm.

    If the problem persists,

Step 4: The System File Checker (SFC) utility allows administrators to perform an analysis of all protected resources to make sure they are the correct version. Whether SFC should find all incorrect versions in one of these protected resources, SFC will be replaced by the correct versions.

You can still run a SFC scan on the windows vista computer. To run a scan suite SFC as follows:

    a. Click Start, in the start search bar type cmd, right-click on the command prompt icon in the box programs and then click Run as administrator.

    b. at the command prompt type sfc/scannow , and then press ENTER.

  • upgrade vista to 7, fails when you try to uninstall programs, windows setup does not

Install Windows 7, but Windows Installer does not work.

Recently, I received my upgrade to 7. I have a new Toshiba running Vista 32 bit. When I try to do the upgrade, I can't go past the part where certain software is uninstalled. The Windows Installer does not work. I'm now waiting to upgrade that I can't because of this. I tried every fix I found, but nothing works. I even tried to download and reinstall the installer, but I get an error code indicating that it does not apply to my computer. I would appreciate a response. I can't believe the issues that I'm with a laptop two month old.

  • After upgrade to Vista, the desktop Setup does not save, but he returned each time unwanted installation

My computer (laptop) did an automatic update of Vista. Since the restart, he lost all cookies, and all applications have behaved as if they were never used.  The files are OK. I had to reset the desktop resolution because it came with something too big. But it does not save the installation program, every time that the computer starts again (even after having his sleep), the office returns in a default setting that I don't like.  Why didn't he save properly?  I have to back to the resolution I love every time. The aspect ratio of the sidebar is also evil in this default value. The clock appears as an oval, for example. I must go to the video driver every time, set the desktop resolution seems correct.  In addition, the sidebar doesn't seem to have an option to display seamlessly, but is a big silver margin is too large for my taste.
My office was working great before the upgrade, now he isn't very good at all.  How can I fix it so it will stay the way I like it?

Thank you very much for your answer.  I solved this problem.  He has been
caused by the last windows update. I think that the file was KB2524375. I have
uninstalled and everything is back to normal. The windows update (which
says he has been recommended by Microsoft) completely changes the configuration, disable
Aero, etc. so changes can not be made.
There is no error message, it was as if he superimposed a very primitive
version of windows. Of course, I do not recommend this update.
Anyway, it's fixed and I'm so happy!

    Thank you!

  • C4780 Setup does not complete

I'm trying to reinstall a Photosmart C4780 on a Windows 7 laptop.  When I use the installer from the installation CD, it gets as far as asking me to verify that I have accept the license agreements and installing.  He then slowly runs out and stops.  No messages of any kind.

Background: I had previously managed to install this printer on the same laptop.  When I moved to a new wireless router, I went through a series of problems to make the printer work properly with the new router.  Each corrective action only made things worse.  I finally got to the point where I uninstalled the HP software and I tried to reinstall from scratch.

I have Bitdefender Antivirus installed.  I tried to disable it, but that did not help.

In addition, autorun does not work for the installation CD, so I resorted to the location of the installation on the CD application and start it manually.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

After I clicked 'OK' in the error message box, the installation is completed, apparently successfully.  I got regarding a test photo printing.   Do I need to worry about the previous error message?

I can't find the "Bravo Star", so I'll just say thank YOU!

  • Setup does not support installing on a windows 64-bit operating system?

I bought adobe photoshop elements and first elements, photoshop has installed fine but when first installing should end I get a pop up saying that the installer does not support installation on a 64-bit windows operating system. I don't have a disc, just a card download software.

    Hello

First 12 Elements have different installers for 32 and 64 bit machines.

You can download the installer 64 bit from the link:

  • Mac OSX 10.5.8 Setup does not work

I just uninstalled my old version of Adobe Flash Player (removal of caches, preferences, etc. (as the instructions say)) and tried to install the most recent version that my OS is running, Flash Player 10.3.183.90. I closed all my apps, empty my trash and even restart my computer, but the installer does not work. It bounces just for a minute or so on my dock and then just sits there, not opening. I have to force it leave because he says that "the Application is not responding do not. I also unpacked the .app file that comes in the .dmg and I tried to launch the Flash Player application that has appeared and it also does the same thing.

    Safari 5.0.6

    Mac OSX 10.5.8

    1. try to create another user account and try the installer under this accoiunt. If it works, you must repair the permissions on your account using disk utility.

    2. If that is not the problem of the installer for your account, try resetting the PRAM. Now restart the Cmd + Option + P + R keys and wait until the "startup chime" sounds three times, then release the keys.

  • 7 Enterprise USB Bootable Windows Setup does not

Hello! I am new to the community, so please forgive me for posting something incorrectly, but I'll be as descriptive as I can.

I'm currently trying to boot Windows 7 Enterprise from a USB key, which normally works very well. The screen 'Windows loading files' rises, it starts implementing, but on the Setup screen, there is no text for me to the language selection or whatever it is. It's just the empty default image, nothing else.

I have never seen this error before, nor have I met before. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I tried to change the settings of the BIOS in class, which all, and form possible, still no luck.

    Any help is really appreciated.

    How long took you?

Its possible the installation files used to create the bootable copy is corrupt.

I suggest that you download a new copy of the volume license service center and recreate a bootable copy and try again.

After getting the file .iso that you use it Microsoft .iso to USB/DVD tool to create a bootable DVD or USB (requires a blank DVD or USB flash to at least 4 GB key).

    For UEFI systems based

If your computer is UEFI, they are normally the systems that come pre-loaded with Windows 8 or later, you need prepare the ISO for such a configuration file or you will receive an error during installation. The USB key must be formatted in FAT32 and use the GPT partitioning scheme. To do this, you must use Rufus, a small tool that you can download for free.

    Rufus - credit: Pete bastard/Akeo

    After installing Rufus:

    • Launch it
    • Select the ISO Image
    • Point to the file ISO for Windows 10
    • Check create a disk bootable using
    • Select GPT partitioning to EUFI firmware as the Partition scheme
    • Choose FAT32 NOT NTFS as file system
    • Make sure that your USB in the device list
    • Click Start
    • Close when you are finished

    Begin the installation.

The following describes the standard way to start the installation, especially if you are in dual boot a 64-bit version of Windows 10 alongside a 32-bit version of Windows. Another way is to start from a version of runing Windows installation and select the partition where you want to install Windows 10. See below for instructions how.

For information about how to modify your BIOS options to boot from the DVD drive, see the following tutorial:

    http://notebooks.com/2011/05/05/How-to-load-BIOS-and-change-boot-configuration/

Once your computer is configured to boot from the DVD, you should see this option.

If you are installing from a USB key, see the instructions below how prepare your computer to boot from a:
