CUDA

At the start up after effects cc, it says I need to download a graphics card NVIDIA for ray tracing enable CUDA. I have an AMD graphics card but it won't allow me to enable CUDA. I tried to use the After Effects 3d element and I can't do it because of this problem.

, In any case, install the CUDA driver. You can ignore the warning and your system should work just fine. Drawn in the acceleration Department is a very small part of the AE that you should not worry. If you still have problems, while something is not. It is not the driver or the lack of one.

First of all, I have to warn. G4 MDD don't have a CUDA button and old Macs - it has a PMU reset button. The difference is that, for a computer with the PMU system like yours, you give the key ONLY a short thrust, not longer than a second.

If treat you it as if it was a CUDA button and hold for 20 seconds, you will seriously damage your computer. That said, this image shows the location of the PMU reset in a G4 MDD:

What is the difference between reset pram by keyboard or cuda?

Since your G4 has no CUDA reset ability, this becomes a moot point. In the old Mac (G3 Beige and more - the "Old world ROM" Macs) reset PRAM via the keyboard is not completely zero everything; the CUDA reset did.

    Hi all

I have GEFORCE 8700 M GT, which is supported by NVIDIA for CUDA.

How to enable CUDA from NVIDIA GPU computing on X 200? CUDA allows access to the GPU of fast algorithms, so as to try.

    BOINC/CUDA link: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/cuda.php

Anyone using CUDA on GEFORCE 8700 on Toshiba laptop?

    Grateful for the help/pointers?

I don't know where you Born this last driver NVIDIA but on NVIDIA page you can find the drivers for graphics used on desktop computers.
For laptops drivers will be offered by the laptop manufacturers.
Unfortunately for laptops you cannot find so many updates. Generally each new update offers better performance for graphics operations. On the desktop with good opportunities for cooling, it isn't so problematic but design on mobile units doesn't allow these updates only on desktop computers.

Heat is a problem common on laptops and the design is the trade-off between performance and physical protection. So do not be surprised if you don't get this latest version of the driver on Toshiba download page.

Where you found information about the version of the 8.15.11.8603 driver?

  • Qosmio F750 - CUDA driver problem and display

    Hello

I do computer scientist parallel with my Qosmio F750, but I am unable to run CUDA database test, called "bandwidthTest.exe". It returns the following error:

    cudaGetDeviceProperties return 35
-> CUDA driver version is not enough for the version of the runtime CUDA
    ...

I did some research on this problem, and everyone agreed that the driver of my screen should be updated. I already 290 driver version, but the latest version is 301,24. Why can't just install the NVidia site Web of NVidia drivers as I do with all my other computers?

What can I do to fix this? I don't want the certified driver for Toshiba... I want just a standard NVidia driver.

Thank you for all the efforts made.

    > Why can't just install the NVidia site Web of NVidia drivers as I do with all my other computers?
With computers, you mean laptops or desktops? I put t know where to work but I guess in your company or school where you work is THIS Department. Contact the people who work there and I hope they can help you with the explanation why you can't use the NVIDIA drivers.

There is big difference between desktops and laptops. Desktop graphics cards are supported by the manufacturers of graphics directly, but on mobile units are mobile manufacturers.
There are several reasons for this.

Thanks for that, but usually it s advisable to use the Toshiba because the GPU graphics card driver, overheating protection.
Other drivers don't support this protection and the use of these drivers can cause a higher temperature which could affect the GPU chip.

  • CUDA Matrix Multiplication fails

    Hello

I am trying to expedite my application by moving some operations of heavy matrix on the GPU. Given that I have never created a block diagram to run on the GPU to date, I did a simple example to see how things work. The screenshot of the VI I wrote is attached.

Simply, it initializes the device and the LVCUBLAS library. It allocates memory for matrices, it will use and uploads the data to the device; calculate the multiplication. However, even if I am not getting any error, the result get, which should be [2, 2], is not correct. What I get, it is essentially the C vector, which is [0,0].

    Am I missing something?

Thank you in advance for help you.

    Hi man,

Finally, I got it working. I post my solution here, because it might be useful to others.

The problem is that the latest version of the CUDA, 7.5 Toolbox, has only 64 bits of the cublas and cufft library versions. Therefore, they cannot be called by Labview 32 bit (I actually tried to force Labview to do this, but I got an error, and that is the explanation http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/6C2CEE5925B8C1B08625721A00731B5E).

I could install Labview 64-bit, but I'm also using the FPGA module, which requires Labview 32 bit, as pointed out here http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/374737b.html

I cant even install the 32-bit CUDA Toolkit from a previous version (6.5), as my machine is a Windows 7 64-bit.

Then I overcame all this simply by copying the libraries cublas32_65.dll and cufft32_65.dll of the CUDA Toolkit 6.5 installer and pasting in the CUDA Toolkit 7.5 folder installed on my machine.

    I hope this can help.

For support of World of Warcraft, see: http://us.blizzard.com/support/index.xml?locale=en_US (I don't know what version you're talking about, so I can't be more specific).  In fact, all I could find was a page of e-mail support: https://us.blizzard.com/support/webform.xml?locale=en_US - not a telephone number or a chat service.  This is a forum for technical support for WOW: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/board.html?forumId=11110&sid=1 where you may be able to find additional help.  BattleNet is something recent (not quite new) support for games (and your user information) and games.  If it works, it should HELP you with these problems, not cause them.  It seems that your installation does not work properly - you can try to do again the installation - do not forget to read the instructions carefully (maybe by first uninstall everything and then re-install) - but I would contact their support email group and/or the forum first to see if they can help you more easily on the problem.

If this does not work, try the suggestion of Michael Murphy.

  • First 2015.4 is not using CUDA when H.264 rendering

I use 2015.4 first on Windows 10 64-bit (current as of this date patches) on an i5 - 3570 K/32 GB with an EVGA GeForce GTX 650 Ti SSC 2 GB with driver rev 372.70 (current).  When I visited a project in the format H.264 first DO NOT use my CUDA cores.  When I visited the same project format MOV first FACT use my CUDA cores.  I have all the settings of export to their default values.  In preferences-> media, Enable accelerated Intel decoding h.264 is turned on.  In the project settings, Renderer is set for the Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration (CUDA).  I can't find other settings that look like they could cause this.

Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?  Or first just not support the GPU acceleration when rendering H.264?

  • Maximum Bit depth and maximum quality, unnecessary with CUDA?

    Hey people,

I don't understand. I know that both of these Options are in normal use.

BUT I don't know if there is a difference in my result in my special workflow.

I turned on RED 5 K, Davinci, exported in the form of Prores4444, having at first in 4 K timeline to export a 4 K Prores4444 for DCP Mastering classified.

When I'm starting to, I would say that rendering maximum quality because I am staggering 03:55 and maximum depth also due to some graphics that I add on my calendar. BUT I red this article from Adobe:

CUDA, OpenCL, the Adobe Premiere Pro and Mercury playback engine | Creative blog Cloud by Adobe

Here I understand well that while exportiing with CUDA on a GPU (I have installed GTX980), scaling operations ALWAYS operate on a maximum quality and export on gpu work always in 32bpc color. Is this correct?

If this isn't the case, I don't understand bit prores depth settings in my case. Prores4444 is a little 12 Codec - so when I export and let off all will be encoded with 12bpc, right? Under the maximum depth, I have 4 options: 24, 36, 48 and 64-bit. I think that 24 bits is 8bpc, 36 is 12 PCBs, 48 is 12bpc with alpha and 64 is 16bpc.

Why should I use 24 with PRORES as an export option? It takes 64 all the time or is it unnecessary because it's a little 12 Codec anyway?

You're right on works of PP.

I have no info on the issue of ProRes that I simply never use it.  There is a little 12 option Cineform which might work for you, however.

I don't think that I am currently using Nvidia CUDA with Adobe first CC 2015. My card is compatible with this feature?

Also, if the answer is "Yes", when I install drivers Nvidia CUDA, I uncheck the display driver? Since I also use my rig for games, I want to make sure I'm not downgrading my display driver. Or is the necessary display CUDA driver?

    Thank you.

    It will work very well.

You only need the CUDA for Mac pilot.  The normal display driver has everything you need for Windows.
