Current limit for the PXI-4110

I'm a PXI-4110 with LabWindows programming. I'm trying the current limit. I have an output to 5V with a load resistance of 1 K; This makes the current 5mA. I put the current limit of 2mA to work. When I read the voltage and current is 5V 5mA. Here is my code:

g_voltageLevel_ch0 = 5.0;

g_currenLimit_ch0 = 2.0E - 3;

status = niDCPower_ConfigureOutputFunction (vi_4110_0, channel0Name, NIDCPOWER_VAL_DC_VOLTAGE);
niDCPower_error_message (vi_4110_0, status, errorMessage);
status = niDCPower_ConfigureSense (vi_4110_0, channel0Name, NIDCPOWER_VAL_LOCAL);
niDCPower_error_message (vi_4110_0, status, errorMessage);

status = niDCPower_ConfigureVoltageLevel (vi_4110_0, channel0Name, g_voltageLevel_ch0);
niDCPower_error_message (vi_4110_0, status, errorMessage);
status = niDCPower_ConfigureCurrentLimit (vi_4110_0, channel0Name, NIDCPOWER_VAL_CURRENT_REGULATE, g_currenLimit_ch0);
niDCPower_error_message (vi_4110_0, status, errorMessage);

I find that if I put my current limit to channel 0 to 10mA, above the error message disappears. However, I can put the current limit for channels 1 and 2 to 2mA, and I do not have an error message with them. I see nothing in the power supply on a valid range on the current limit. To be clear on what happens if I do this:

status = niDCPower_ConfigureCurrentLimit (vi_4110_0, channel0Name, NIDCPOWER_VAL_CURRENT_REGULATE, 8-3);

I get the error "Invalid value for the parameter or property."

However, if I do this:

status = niDCPower_ConfigureCurrentLimit (vi_4110_0, channel0Name, NIDCPOWER_VAL_CURRENT_REGULATE, 10th-3);

I don't get an error.

Channels 1 and 2 do not have this limit. I went down to 1mA on these channels and no problems.

    Hi Engwei,

    Programmed tensions are the levels that you would have to exceed or down before a change of digital status is saved. This means that in your example, coming from a high level of 3V goes to 2V, the Analyzer signals would still record a strong logic. The deadband is actually a way to filter digital noise, common to the majority of the architecture of digital input.

    In my Windows 7 SP1 x 64, I have at least 15 keys with values that add up to more than 65 535 bytes.
    In fact, I have more than 15 values (strings, binary and multiple channels) which, by themselves, have some sizes larger than 65 535 bytes.

    Here are a few examples.

    Yes from the doc

    Primary and unique keys because composites are limited to 32 columns, a composite foreign key is also limited to 32 columns.

  • Accuracy of the PXI-4110 and aid for the supply of the sweep of the voltage-2, 5V to 2, 5V

    Hello

    I want to know about the accuracy of PXI 4110 DC power. I use 4110 PXI to apply a voltage sweep-2, 5V to 2, 5V with a 0, 5V step using Labview, how can I do?

    Hi Khan,

    After reading my post, I realized I'd probably be a bit clearer on that last paragraph...

    Available for PXI-4110 voltage ranges are different for each channel, as shown in the first page of the specifications:

    CH0: 0 to + 6V

    CH1: 0 to + 20 v

    CH2: 0 - 20V

    So to create a sweep from-2.5 to 2.5 V, you will need to use multiple channels. You would use Ch2 to sweep from-2.5 to 0V. Then you can use Ch0 and Ch1 (Ch0 would be better since you'll have better accuracy) to sweep from 0 to + 2, 5V. There is a good example, called "NOR-DCPower channel in software timing Sweep (curve) .vi tension" which does almost exactly what you are looking for.

    I hope that clarifies the it!

  • is that any limits the current entry for the digital I/o?

    Hi all

    I wonder if there is no limit on the input to the digital I/o port. I have a device about 0.2 volt voltage outputing and the manual says the maximum sink current is 25mA. I connect this signal to a DI entry in my 6711 map. I wonder if the current is too large for the entrance of DI or the PFI?

    As we have already mentioned, there is no current flowing on the device in low level mode.

    The current specifications mentioned see the maximum current that can be managed by the device in low level mode.

    I hope not to confuse you more than necessary. On a row of data to the TTL level, nothing flowing from the device to the main circuit in level mode high current. In low mode, there is flowing in the main circuit in the current device. This current is inherently limited by the circuit.

    So, if you have a file specification of 25mA max. of the peripheral device in low level mode, it will never sink too much power from the main circuit. You can connect two devices without any risk. The maximum current is just specified in case you manage more current with the device, a led or a relay for example. In this case, the charge current must be limited, so that you do not damage the device. But - as mentioned - this is NOT the case in your application.

  • IVI Configuration with the PXI-4110 in TestStand

    Hi all

    Implementation:

    PXI-1033 connected through MXI to a PC running Windows 7. LabVIEW 2014. TestStand 2014 (32 bit). DMM PXI-4110 food and PXI-4070.

    In MAX, I can open two soft signs and two control units and they work great.  In LabVIEW, I can control the two cards as well.

    MAX I put in place a pilot and a logical name for my DMM. This unit works very well within TestStand using one-step IVI DMM.

    I then configure the 4110 to the MAX with a pilot of the IVI and logical name. Here are my settings:

    Name: ni4410_PS

    Material: Immobilization of additional hardware and select the PS. This is checked, any other assets are checked.

    Software module: NOR-DCPower, 4110 is listed as a device supported.

    Virtual names: It is where I am confused, under the name of physics there are four options that arise (0, 1, 2 and 3). This power has only 3 exits, so I'm not sure why four rise. I've done 4 virtual names, one for each of the options. I named the ch0, ch1, ch2 and ch3 respectively.

    When I put a power of IVI step TestStand, everything seems to work. I open the configuration window and set my values for each channel. If I try to validate the configuration by deselecting simulate and click init I do not receive an error.  As soon as I click on 'Set up' or 'Show Soft Front Panel', I get the following error:

    "IVI operation failed set to the name of lgical"OR PS 1'. Details: Possibility of Extention not taken care of by instrument driver. (Base) (- 30717) »

    Any information would be appreciated.  I tried to play with it for a few hours yesterday and a few colleagues trying to help.  We are all under the assumption that it should work.

  • OR SHC68-68 for the PXI-6255

    I see that the PXI-6255 DAQ module recommends the SHC68-68-EPM cable and SHC68-68 cable for each connector. My question, is there any detailed diagrams for the SHC68-68 cable pinout? Is it a one to one with the data acquisition module?

    Hey TreyB

    SHC68-68-EPM cables both SHC68-68 have mappings to pin one.  Links to our documentation for pinout for these cables are below:

    The SHC68-68-EPM cable pinout - http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/DE2D842E545DE64B86256F78006EAB1A

    The SHC68-68 cable pinout - http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/26223F0B830148FD862577770069EBC4

    You will notice the two cables have different internal shielding, as well as twisted pairs different configurations.  The two are armoured noise outside (the prefix "SH" indicates this).  The SHC68-68-EPM cable is optimized for mixed signals on our X and M Series devices that contain analog and digital channels and offers additional internal shielding between digital and analog lines for better signal integrity. The SHC68-68 cable offers only twisted pair and no armour to protect against digital transients because the cable is intended to be used on the single analog connector.

    Versil1

    Hi Versil1,

    I advise to use niModInst, DAQmx and DAQmx system device nodes. Examples of these functions can be found here:

    niModInst: the device name of query by programming or other information using the API OR-ModInst http://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-7454

    Device node and DAQmx system: programmatically obtain product DAQ device http://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-3716 names

    For the outputs that are not in the string format (i.e. DevNames), you can use the flatten the string function to convert them to strings.

  • Current limit for analog output on USB-6211-OEM

    The current output drive listed in the specifications of this card is of +/-2 my. What happens when you try to go beyond that? Is there damage to the card or is it simply rail out around 2mA. For example, if I connect a 1000 ohm load. I'm okay, if I have the output up to 2V (= 2mA), but what happens when I exit 3V with the same 1000 ohm load?

    Thank you.

    Protection of the overdrive is 2.4 mA, which means that you can ride this current without damaging the card, but a current of approximately 2 mA, tension is more guaranteed to be compliant to the specifications.

  • Character limit for the entry of short answer?

    Cap 9.

    I use SCORM 1.2, which imposes a limit of 255 characters for the text input, however, I can't find a way to limit the entry of text box for the quiz/short answer, which means that the people of entry much more of 255 characters and submit their responses, but unbeknownst to them, the answer is off.

    Is it possible to apply a limit of characters for pre-built Answer questionnaires/Short models?

    Thank you

    You can limit the number of characters entered in a text entry area.  The maximum number of characters that will now be accepted by a BER 9 Captivate is 150 characters.  But you can set the number being less than that.

    You can certainly include an area for text input in a quiz, but it's usually only when you set the Validation option on WE so that the text of the learner is assessed to see if it matched to a correct answer.  In your case it is not necessary for a correct answer if you want just your comments.  If you do not set a Validation we then report to the Quiz option is gray.

    Developers wishing to receive feedback courses accepted by the LMS often use the value short answer question survey instead of rated.  It seems that some LMS then saves the text entered.

    If it's somewhat a catch-22.  I still believe that your best option is to simply tell users NOT to go more than a few sentences of comments.
