I just bought a Wireless-G Broadband Router WRT54G2 and it works very well with my wireless computer, but I can not connect my printer. I use the Linksys Advisor program to search for the printer, but it does not. I see that my router starts by IP 192.le xx and my printers IP is 172.xx. May this be the problem? Unless you are connected to the router via USB - the likely router isn't the issue.  There is no need of drivers for your system (Windows XP, Vista, 7;) Linux; OS X; Android; iOS...) for the router itself - only wireless computer device used to connect to ANY wireless access point.

-Discover drivers for any wireless network is installed in your laptop that allows it to connect to wireless access points - and visit the manufacturer for drivers and software updated.

  • Can I use as a point of access Wireless-G broadband router?

I use a router broadband wireless Netgear as main router to the ground floor and connected to the internet. I connected an access point wireless of LinkSys (WAP54G) as a wireless Repeater. Same SSID however, I turned wide dissemination. My office upstairs, I have wifi internet access very well and remain connected indefinitely. However, shortly after connecting to the Office VPN (off-site), the connection drops-both internet and VPN! I ran a loooong cat5 to the office on the floor and when it is connected to WAN I remains connected to two connections indefinitely. I do not have another AP, but I do not have a router Wireless G (WRT - 54G). Can I use this router as an AP, the same SSID, but I noticed on previous posts I should reactivate broadcast on all devices and change the channel settings. I noticed, when I went into the Setup utility 192.168.1.1, I access my netgear router, how to enter the Linksys router?

    Thank you

    Ken

Nothing beats an AP on the WRT mode. It's just connecting it via the main router LAN port, you can use the access point without going through the router within the WRT component.

You will have to do exactly what I wrote. Don't change anything on the Netgear.

    1. disconnect your network WRT. Wire a single computer to a LAN of the WRT port.

    2. open the web interface of the WRT to http://192.168.1.1/ since the computer you plugged on the WRT.

    3. on the main change WRT configuration page the LAN IP of 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.2 and disable the DHCP server.

    4. save the settings. Unplug the computer.

    5. wire one of the LAN ports of the WRT to the Netgear. Do not use the internet port of the WRT!

That's all. You don't change anything after that. It is the final configuration. You can now access the web interface Netgear http://192.168.1.1/ and the web interface WRT to http://192.168.1.2/

  • Satellite A100-998 - O2 broadband router wireless number

I have the laptop above. It connects fine to the Netgear routers and other but won't connect wirelessly to a router from O2. I am using the WEP key OK but after that the network is acquired nuer automatic DHCP and DNS assignment etc, I have limited or no connectivity message.

I uninstalled the wireless network card, reinstalled, updated the driver (Intel 3945) and does not different.

I know the default gateway, the DNS Server data and the subnet and have tried to enter this as fixed information in the area of adequate properties for the wireless card, give my portable IP apropriate to be agreed. I also deleted all the networks without wire already connected. No change.

It is not a firewall issue as I stopped the firewall still no effective connection.

I can connect via LAN to the router of the O2 using the same fixed data, by the way.

    The data are:

    Default gateway 192.168.1.254
    Subnet 255.25.255.0
    DNS 192.168.1.254
192.168.1.69 for LAN IP address (but the latest issue up to 254 should work as long as it is not a duplicate of an existing one, which is not)

There is no security MAC operation and others in the same building have no wireless connection problem. If I look at the router admin pages, my laptop is shown as one device as well as all others who are connected.

Oddly enough, I also couldn't connect wirelessly with my EEE PC (Linux OS and Atheros wifi card). I get the message "not enough leases of work." I never no problem elsewhere, so I think it's a problem of router-side. Toshiba is aware of this problem? If so, is there a solution, apart to change the router, I prefer not to do what he's going to disturb others in the House and cost me money.

    Thanks for any help.

Toshiba or any other manufacturer of the laptop / desktop has nothing to do with the router you use for LAN or WLAN connection. If you are 100% sure that the network card wireless on your Toshiba laptop works properly it is the end of history.

  • Set up a wireless network without router

When you configure a wireless network without router, how many computers can I connet to this network?  Is there a limit?

Wow, I'm sorry.  I must have had a brain freeze when I read your post.  * From http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/20446-43-wireless-networking-general

What is the maximum number of wireless clients that can be networked using the Ad-Hoc mode, i.e. without an access point?

The theoretical limit, which is the same as in Ethernet, is determined by the 48-bit MAC address field in each frame of wireless data. The practical limit is determined by the constraints that can be integrated to client drivers. As a general rule, Ad-Hoc networks with 16 to 32 stations should be possible.

    See you soon

  • Looking for Wireless-N Gigabit Router with VPN

    Hi all

I recently bought the WRT310N Wireless - N Gigabit Router and I'm in love! I've updated from an old Netgear router, so now I'm enjoying performance gigabit.

After buying my SIN, I now use VPN to connect to my NAS when I'm remote.  I started to look at installing openVPN on my NAS, but it seemed complicated and buggy, so who's got when I read that a large number of routers today include built-in VPN features.

I searched but did not find any Wireless-N Gigabit router that also included the VPN features.  I found 10/100 routers with VPN, but not Gigabit Wireless-N.

Linksys Wireless - N Gigabit routers with VPN integrated?  If Yes, can you tell me what model should I buy?

In summary, I like to keep my Wireless-N Gigabit performance and (hopefullly!) the use of the VPN on the Linksys router so that I don't have to worry about the complex and buggy software VPN installs on my NAS.  How can I do this?

    Thank you!

As far as I know model onlyh 1 that is suited to your requirement is WRVS4400N. Its a Wireless Gigabit router.

Is what brand and model of printer?

I do not work unless your new router has the same SSID and password wireless as the old. Consult your printer documentation to find out how to handle the situation. For example, some Lexmark wireless printers have a program called Configuration Utility Wireless in the Lexmark folder under all programs on the start menu that is used to set up the printer when changes are made to the wireless network.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500 all-in-One Incompatible with D-Link Wireless N 300 Router?

We have upgraded to a new D-Link Wireless N 300 Router and have consulted successfully the router using the key to safety with two cell phones and a desktop based ethernet but am getting an error "password WPA not valid" when you use the Wireless Setup Wizzard of the HP Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless all-in-One.  We have administrator access rights to the D-Link router using the desktop computer but not sure what to change.  We have restored factory on the 8500 and am not sure what next step to take to try to get it connected.

New technology of security of this router is not compatible with the all-in-one series 8500 or y at - it fixation or modification which could be considered to get this connected with the new router?

This problem has been resolved.  We 'Restored default network' in the network menu of the 8500, however, we needed "Restore Factory Defaults" in the Tools menu that solved the problem and allowed us to use the wireless configuration Wizzard correctly.

  • Can I use a hp b209 and a hp4500 wireless through a router on the same network

I have two HP printers that I would use wireless via a router. When I tried to set up the two of them, one or the other is not recognized. I tried to uninstall and reinstall and nothing seems to work.

Ok.  Uninstall all software HP from start > all programs > Hewlett-Packard.  Then restart your PC.

Now, download the latest version of the software for the 4500 from the "Support & drivers" link at the top of this page and install it.  Restart your PC.

Finally, since the same link on this page to get the latest version of the software for the b209 and install it.
