• Word no longer works after Vista automatic update

  It is now the third time that I had this problem. When Word is open and my computer automatically applies an update to Vista, Word doesn't work more once the computer restarts.  Word opens, but it is not functional. It does not, will not answer even the scroll bar. I checked and the latest updates (13 August) have nothing to do with the word: they are all Vista and Outlook related. I managed to lose access to the resolution I found the other two times this happened and would appreciate an overview of how to solve this problem. I am also concerned because it happened with each update of Vista.

  I suggest you to contact Acer and ask them for the Touchpack software. Trouchpack software will be provided by the manufacturers of touch screen monitor. Install the software and check if that helps.

  I recently installed a Windows update (update for Windows Vista for systems X 64 (KB2524375)) March 23, 2011, and it is Windows Aero and even Windows Vista Basic color schemes to no longer work. They can be selected, but the preview is black, and it does not change when I apply.   Edit: I also want to add that the system restore stopped working and restore points have been removed when I tried to come back before the installed update.
  Edit #2: I looked in the services that are related to the Vista themes: Desktop Window Manager Session Manager and themes; but they both started and the startup type is set to automatic. I tried to restart these services, but that did nothing. Desktop Window Manager is running, but the theme does not work even then.
  Edition #3: When I stop Desktop Window Manager, then restarted, but now the themes are no longer available for selection under color schemes.

• Touchpad no longer works after upgrade to VISTA on my M105-S3084

  I recently updated my system to VISTA and since that time, my touchpad does not work. I tried to install all types of drivers, that nothing seems to work. VISTA indicated that the device works properly. All other devices work - just the touchpad.

  Have you checked if the touchpad is not disabled?
  You can enable and disable the touchpad by using the FN + F9 key, but I don't know if it will work if you have not installed the correct drivers m.

  Try to restart flash cards.
  Start > all programs > Toshiba > utilities > restart Flash Cards

  I have a cl dv7-1273.  Just changed from Vista Home Premium 64 for Windows 7 64.   Win 7 installed OK.  After you install the pad at the top of the keyboard no longer works in the dialogs like this.  When I entered the numbers here I had to use the keypad.  Keys still work in Word, Excel, Evernote, etc..

  Someone on the forum had the same problem of pad during the upgrade to win 8.  They solved the problem by uninstalling Comcast constant guard.   I removed a constant guard and now my keypad work.  Is there something in constant guard that is in conflict with the keys from HP laptop during upgrade to Win 7 or 8 Win.
