DELL Studio XPS 435 t/9000 card reader problem

I have received my computer desk DELL XPS9000 exactly one month ago. In the first week, the hard drive has failed. If Dell sent a technician has replaced the hard drive.

Last week, the card reader does not read the SD card. I found that there is a "unknown device" under Bus computer USB controllers, the Device Manager. I was following result after runing DELL self-test - "error initializing Test results: device, 5 d 00 error Code: 0009, Msg: UUTUSBTM - DEVICE_INITIALIZATION_FAILURE user must attach the RH 3 port unit and re-start the test.

Contacted DELL XPS technical support. The agent could not solve the problem after you install several drivers. He will then plan to send a technician to replace the card reader.

It seems that I am not alone with this problem. I wonder if there is lack of system design with this nice computer.

I've had this problem forever. Problem is that the media player is left in a State of 'strange' because of a BSOD, and I have not found the cause of THE BSOD this.

My 435 t comes with Vista, and not until I upgraded to W7 I was able to get a handle on this. W7 has reported that the device did not work. Before this Dell replaced the unit and cable. This device appararurent again, only to stay for about 2 weeks. I had it happen once before too, and support me try to remove and reinsert the cables, but I couldn't reach them (support hung up before I could try) and had only tried the device itself, not the motherboard. I called back and said I could not and they sent the parts. Later arrived before the parts I decided to try again by taking unscrew, but I've loosened it and feared the screw would fall into the system and it has tightened. The unit was working again? However, two weeks later he failed. Items sent and installed and it worked.

2 weeks about go by and it fails. Dell asked me to reinstall Vista and format during the installation. I hesitated and pushed them to do the following. Send a motherboard... and they did it, it was installed and the machine worked. Change the motherboard to solve another problem, 2nd DVD drive opens randomly and narrow when I open the first time, after that, worked OK. That stopped happening.

After that, I installed W7. Got a BSOD running DVD Flick (there are reports of this failure on Dell because IASTOR, the SATA driver) and the re-start, W7 has reported that a USB device does not work. Well, the media player was gone... open the folder, messed with the wires on the side of the motherboard, case closed, re-boot and it worked again... now I know the "fix."

It turns out that the fix is REALLY SIMPLE, pull the power cord, wait for the green light to go a little longer, plug the power cord from back in and reboot. Fixed a problem.

Well, I'd call it a work-around. The real problem is the device USB is not be initialized, either because the BIOS does not power on or the unit was in such a State, it could not be. Removal of power resets the it.

I hope it works for you.

My diet giving me in my Studio XPS 435 t/9000. The fan is very noisy, but otherwise there is no obvious symptoms. Since the system is about 5 years, I was planning to change some parts.

    My questions are:

    (1) what could be the cause of the fan to be strong, and what are the potential problems with that?

    (2) a system of 435MT 475W PSU would be compatible, or would I need specifically a 435 t?

The first thing I would do is keep the Office of your garage. Open the side cover. Use compressed air can and blow all the dust that has accumulated in the tower. Blowing from the rear of the PSU and the inside of it. Replace the cover and retest for the noise of the PSU. The power supply 360w on Studio XPS 435MT will not work. The only Dell validated PSU for the Studio XPS 435 t / 9000 has been F217J 475w. The best video cards, we validated our eating 475w were:
    2XTG4 AMD Radeon HD5870
    5X2CH Nvidia GeForce GTX260

You might consider installing a power supply of higher power, but with a single card video, you need something bigger then a 650w. You could then spend the video card for sale retail Nvidia GTX660.

    Hello

I posted here earlier on my dell studio xps 435/9000 beeping non stop on start up.  I discovered that the CPU is the problem and must be replaced.

I have an Intel Dual core i7 (socket LGA1366) processor, what are my options for replacement?

Can I he move to a Quad core as long as the plug is the same, or should I stick to a dual core.

If I replace the processor should I replace the motherboard as well?

Is there a way to know if a particular processor is compatible with my motherboard? (the other is the same)?

    Any help is appreciated, thanks!

  • Stops randomly on the new desktop Studio XPS - 435 t/9000, please help!

My parents spent an obscene amount of money on their computer, however, some being computer illiterate they needed me to help out, which I'm all too happy to talk. So here's the problem, the card will be at the end.

As long as they have had this computer there randomly stop, little by little is that after large amounts of time to be under a light load (I would say 25% of capacity). He would not give an error or close the problems one by one, power, and everything shuts down (turns screen black computer is silent). He tries to return as if you were starting a shutdown computer about 5 seconds after it turns off.

I thought it was overheating, so I installed a few programs of the manual fan control and ran a few tests with Prime95 torture. Overheating shutdown for CPU was at 90 c, but since the computer is idling at 36 and 62 max on a charge is no longer me, overheating is the problem. So the only thing I can think of that might cause the problem is the power supply.

It was a costly computer and I do not want my parents wasted their money on it, any suggestion/help will be greatly appreciated , because I'm stuck and do not want to tell my parents to buy a new PSU, if this isn't the correct answer to this problem.

Any other information needed is provided if I can find a way to find it on request.

Hi could someone tell me if I can put a third hard drive in my Studio XPS 435 t / 9000

Yes, the Studio XPS 435 t/9000 supports three 3.5 ", SATA drives, see page 57 here:

    http://FTP.Dell.com/manuals/all-products/esuprt_desktop/esuprt_studio_xps_desktop/Studio-XPS-9000_User%27s%20Guide_en-us.PDF

You need a SATA, 3.5 ", internal hard drive 7200 RPM, a SATA data cable 2 x 6-32 x 1/4 cylinder head screws to install the drive, there should be a spare 15 pin power connector SATA for him in the case.

    The Service Manual is here:

  • Studio XPS 435 t / 9000 desktip - new hard drive compatibility

I may need to replace the hard drive on my Studio XPS 435 t / 9000 office. How can I make sure that the new hard disk I receive is compatible with the computer? What should I look for? I see one in the Dell store, but it takes 3 to 6 weeks to ship! Thanks for any help.

    Roman J

You can install all internal, SATA, 3.5 ", hard drive 7200 RPM, up to 2 TB in size.

Best to search hard drives Western Digital and Seagate brands, also check the length of the manufacturer's warranty, plus the better.

  • Dell Studio XPS 9100 integrated video card?

Hi guys, I own a Studio XPS 9100 and I currently have GPU issues.

I want to use my PC without having to rely on my graphics card. The studio XPS 9100 has an integrated video processing system? If so, how can I connect to that?

I am aware that the Studio XPS 9100 is not an integrated video connector, and I have to use the connector available on the video card in the expansion slot to connect to my monitor.

    Hi Poorbeggarman,

The card mother Studio XPS 9100 has a GPU integrated, but it is disabled, and there is no way to enable it. You have no other choice than to replace your video card.

  • Studio XPS 435 t / 9000 - PCI-e 2.0 speed outcome

I just bought a Startech SATA 6 Gbps PCI Express controller card in order to install a new Samsung 850 SSD and run at speeds of SATA 3.  However, it does not appear that the controller card is PCIe 2.0 speeds.  The controller card currently gets 2.5 Gbit/s (PCIe 1.1 speed).  When I run some performance tests on the disc, I get only half of the maximum speed of the drive.

Everything I've read, it seems that my original motherboard is capable of PCIe 2.0.  Can you please confirm this.  Any other advise would be welcome as well.

    Thank you.

Sorry, if I have my speed was confusing (it was late at night).  Transfer speed that I am trying to accomplish is 5 Gbit/s and my main question is whether or not this PC supports PCIe 2.0 or 1.1.

The PCIe 2.0 standard was released in 2007 and I bought this PC in 2009.  In addition, the following link for my motherboard says it's PCIe 2.0 - however, I get only 2.5 Gbps transfer speed of the x 1 PCIe SATA controller card.   .

  • Studio XPS 435 t display problems

I have a Dell Studio XPS 435 t desktop and a Dell Inspiron 560 monitor flat screen Dell ST2310 23 via a port two IOGEAR KVM sharing switch. I have a Samsung TV HD 7100 that I am connected to the Studio XPS video card HDMI port and it worked beautifully, better than I expected. However the Dell monitor has become completely black except for the cursor that lights up when I move the mouse. According to the specifications, the video card Radeon 4350 in the XPS is capable of driving two screens at the same time. If I unplug and then reconnect the HDMI cable going to TV Samsung monitor analog Dell ST2310 returns to the top except there is no bar of tasks or cursor, simply on the desktop. Two display (monitor and TV) devices work perfectly by themselves, but I should be able to use them simultaneously. I scanned for and determined that all drivers are up-to-date. I tried VGA for monitor / output HDMI to the TV with the above results. I tried to use DVI on the monitor, but get no signal HDMI plugged. How can I make this work with what I have?

Wow, that's a long way for a HDMI signal to run, but it works!

If your two connections are VGA and HDMI. The Catalyst Control Center shows two monitors?

  • Dell Studio XPS 8000 - Asus Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 Ti Graphics Card

Hi I have a Dell Studio XPS 8000. Information on the system it's an Intel i7 CPU 860-2.8 GHz 2.79 GHz and 6 GB of RAM. operating system 64-bit, x 64 based processor.

I would like to know if I could adapt an Asus Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 Ti graphics (2 GB, GDDR5, PCI-Express 3.0) without any problem? Or is there a better option?

The current map graphic is a GeForce GTS 240, that it came with.

I searched the internet to find out that if that would be ok, but became confused if the power supply is sufficient, the appearance of it bed 350w max power. I can't find some people say no and Yes.

    My computer knowledge is Basic.

    Thanks for any help.

You're better than replace the power supply Dell with a retail food more high wattage. Then the video card will be fine. Read your Manual for instructions.

  • XPS 435 t - graphics card double slot?

I guess we can integrate a video card double slot the existing PCI-Express 2.0 16 slot. I do not if I hide the adjacent PCI 1 slot because it is empty.

If dual slot graphics cards stack up?

    It's absolutely, positively FALSE.

    Why say that?

The Studio XPS 435 / 9000 video slots has full size. Total and 6 locations.

A range of maps of graphics ATI including the Radeon HD3450, HD3650 HD4670, of the HD4850 and HD4870

The map in the image below is a DOUBLE WIDE 4870.

I recommend the upgrade of a corsair CS750M power supply if you plan to use a map of hunger of power such as Geforce 960 because the 475W stock power is a bit too small IMHO.  I had an EVGA GeForce GTX 960 SuperSC ACX 2.0 + 2 GB memory GDDR5 128 bit, 02 G-P4-2966-KR to work with the power supply but I was not comfortable leaving in this way.

    The Studio XPS 435 t uses 1333 MHz DDR3 non - ECC and non - ECC DDR3 1066 MHz.

  • XPS 435 t/9000 Max size of the hard drive?

    Hello

    I have a XPS 435 t/9000.

I currently have two, 1 to SATA HDD and need for additional storage space.

There is a 3rd available Bay, a connector available on the motherboard and the power available.

Reference Dell tells me the motherboard is a Microstar International X501H and the motherboard will limit myself to a 1 TB drive.

HOWEVER, I found several online vendors that sell to larger capacity of disks and state that they will work on this machine.

I will ONLY use the 3rd disc as a data reader and will not boot from it.

Can someone tell me DEFINITELY HARD drive supported (data only mode) via the connector on the motherboard.

    IN ADDITION,.

Are there options to add a new HARD disk controller to an expansion slot?  (I have no slots half remaining due to other small improvements).  I need all THE details on what I did not research on this yet.

    Thank you very much!

INTEL RST less than 10.1 DOES NOT support greater than 2 TB.

Intel RST RAID DOES NO more than Volumes Raid 2 to support.

You cannot use the last 11 12 13 14 versions of INTEL RST with older Chipsets.
