DeskJet 3050 a will not connect to my wireless network

I absoulutely can't get my Deskjet 3050 has to connect to my home wifi connection.  It is a Motorola modem/router (wireless) model SBG6580.

I went through the doctor for help (don't show me the wireless information.  The button did not work.  I tried to use my home password and id, but it does not work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

To connect to the printer Deskjet 3050 to a wireless network, you will need to temporarily connect to the computer with a USB cable. I'll link the instructions detailed below. If this does not work, let me know and I'll see what I can do to help.

I got this HP printer for a while and it worked fine.  Our old router is out and we had to get a new one.  Installed perfectly and printer continued to work properly.  The password for the router was ridiculous, that's why I changed it to something much more simple to remember.  Since then, my printer will not connect to wireless internet.  I have a ~ and reinstalled the printer but still have the same problem.  I thought maybe to try the former password would, but who does not work either.

Anyone has any ideas that might help before chuck it and go and get a new one altogether?

    Thank you.

Easy things first.  Turn off the router and the printer.  Turn on the router and wait 3 minutes.  Turn on the printer and see if it connects to your router.  Status?

If no joy, temporarily disable all security in the router.  Now try to connect the printer to your SSID not guaranteed without password.  Status now?

If OK, go back and add WPA2-AES with your simple password.  Status now?

  • HP 7520: HP 7520 will not connect to the wireless network

There is some additional information to

    http://forums.Xfinity.com/T5/home-networking-router-WiFi/HP-7520-will-not-connect-to-wireless-networ...

    on this issue.

Have several APs for a single wireless network allows the printer foolish law.  (Not a Repeater, a second AP connected to the local network with the same configuration of network for security, etc.).

I solved this problem.  In accordance with the discussion on the link, the problem is that the printer cannot connect to a wireless network if there is greater than 1 for a wireless network (SSID) name wireless access point.

This thread has had several useful suggestions, but what finally solved the problem, it's the second point has access to a mode where I can create a 'virtual' access point and, above all, a SSID associated.

Note that not all access points or routers support virtual APs, but this function seems to be more common over time.  Older models is not able to do that.  However, a new access point is sometimes cheaper than a new printer.

If you do not understand the jargon in the procedure below, I recommend that you find someone who does, then they can do it for you.

    Solution:

    1. On one of the wireless access on the network, create an a new virtual AP with a slightly different name SSID (for example < name of the network - > _1), on the same VLAN (usually VLAN 1).  You may need to put the AP in "multiple AP mode" or something similar, and then restart the AP.  All other settings (DHCP, security, mixed mode b/g/n, etc.) must be the same for the new SSID.
    2. Run the printer Wireless Setup and connect it to this new SSID
    3. Confirm that the printer can be seen by other devices on the network

    Tips:

    • Check the security is the same as the original SSID, Alternatively you can create a vector of insecurity in your network.  Do not WEP-128 when the other SSID uses WPA2 AES, for example.
    • The AP I had had several resets to make it work because of the mode and parameter changes.
    • If you connect the SSID but cannot connect to or be seen by anything on your network, check the new SSID/AP is in the same VLAN as the original.
    • Because the printer is not roaming, and the speed is not a problem for me, I used the access point that could support this solution, which is deeper and slower than my primary AP.  I have not noticed any problems.

The printer has been reliable on the wireless now on the new SSID, 48 hours.

I have not upgraded any software on a client of the printer (PC, Mac, phones).

I think that it is a positive confirmation that the problem is with the implementation of the printer of the stack of network and not with the driver or client software on remote devices.  The 802.11 protocols provide for a network name (SSID) wireless with several access points using different MAC addresses.  I suggest this HP look into this as a potential bug with their network printer for the 7520 protocols stack.

  • Laptop will not connect to the wireless network

I have a Toshiba laptop with windows Vista, and it does not connect to wireless internet at my father's House. My father and my sister have the same exact computer, and both of their computers work perfectly well. Mine will work with an ethernet cable plugged in, but when I try to connect wirelessly, it does not work. I've never had this problem in my mom's house or anywhere else. Can someone help me please?

    Hello

This is a security feature of each wireless router I've ever seen, although I wouldn't be surprised to discover that some router didn't do it. You need to check your router admin pages to see if mac address filtering is in effect. Address filtering Mac prohibits access to the router by any unauthorized network device. All network devices have a unique mac address which you can find through opening a command prompt (click Start, then type cmd and press enter) and then typing ipconfig/all. The output refers to your device Wireless 'physical address' (mac address) and will be in the format hh-hh-hh-hh-hh-hh, where hh is a hexadecimal number (A - F and numbers 0-9), dashes are not important and may not be required when you enter your mac address in the router configuration.

  • My Mac Pro and HP Deskjet 3070 PowerBook does not connect via a wireless network from dorm

Both my laptop and printer (an all-in-one) are connected to the same wireless network dorm, but they do not connect on it.  They connect only wire using a USB cable.

I have for the MacBook Pro and the Deskjet printer IP addresses but no way to use to establish a connection.  I don't have access to the network router.  When I test the connectivity, the software tells me, "too many networks."  He can't make a choice!

Interestingly, I have my MacBook Air along this journey, too, and the two MacBook have no problem of communication on the same network of dorm.

Is it possible to plug these devices such as computers connect or should I remain attached to the USB cable to use my new printer?  I guess you know how I feel about this.  Thanks for your advice.

You are right.  There is no way to bypass security protected by password and thus to connect a Mac to a Deskjet 3070 via a secure network without access to a router, and a password.  However, even without access to a network or a router, there is a workaround solution.  In my case, where the technical ability to correctly configure the router and the printer is beyond the understanding of the management of the dormitory, qualified through the difference to happen anytime soon, it is the answer I need.

The solution is to build your own Mac + network printer and make it private, protect it against unwanted entry.  This offer you little mobility in the area of the printer, which is much better than nothing.  A sofa can be more conducive to creative thinking as an Office Chair.  The unconventional twist that Johnny introduced the user, the printer that generates the sender-recipient, not the Mac network.  Very smart.

I refer you to the thread,

"Deskjet 3070 cannot connect to the ad - hoc network (Mac)"

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/printer-networking-and-wireless/DeskJet-3070A-cant-connect-to-ad-hoc-network/m-p/1446819#M38598

Then the only question is to know how to connect your Mac on the Deskjet 3070 printer via the generic (as he calls it, "ad hoc") network created by the Deskjet printer.  The Mac has abundant features for this purpose.

Thanks for the categorical assertion, however.  No sense to break down the walls looking for a nonexistent hidden tunnel...!

  • Photosmart 5524: Photosmart 5524 will not connect to the wireless network

I recently moved house, and since the move does not connect the printer to the network.

The router and the parameters are the same as before the move, and appliances are on opposite sides of the same coin.

Initially, he sees the network, but does not connect when you press the WPS button or the password.

After the first attempt he cannot see all networks at all until the settings are reset, even if the network name is entered manually.

Printed on the test result to get a 'Pass' for YOU wireless and WIRE WORKS, a "failed" to FIND NAME of NETWORK and "Not run" on all other tests. The proposed solution is not useful, as it suggests using the Wireless Setup Wizard to set up the printer, which I already do.

No other device has problems see the network or connection to it. MAC filtering is not lit. Some devices have a static IP (required to stop Ipad wife being a tyrant of intellectual property), but the router DHCP is still active for most devices.

Temporarily remove your SSID of your router password. Now try to connect to your SSID unsecured. Are you successful? If so, go back and add WA2 - AES with a password and try again.

  • ENVY 4520: printer will not connect to the wireless network

with wireless on Printer Setup Wizard, printer detects the network but when I enter the key to encryption (correctly), he comes back with a message "Unable to connect to the network".  The printed report suggests the address filtering MAC can be activated.  But I checked and it is specifically DISABLED.    The printed report indicates a FAILURE on "no filtering."

    Please notify.

After struggling with this for two days and after the announcement of this question and all by downloading the HP doctor, I noticed that the printer had suddenly cured himself. I'm not sure what I should credit this miraculous healing. Thank you I guess?

  • My computer does not connect to the wireless network

My computer does not connect to a wireless network. It's almost like there is no WiFi. I go into the settings and nothing is. I know that the networks are there because the other computers connect to it. He says always "no connection available. When I try to pull of boredom he tells me to plug an Ethernet cable, which is the thing that I try to avoid. I want to connect to WiFi.

Based on this information, your laptop isn't wifi, it is turned off, or it is broken.  A wifi used to work?  If so, what happened to your system, just as the problem started?

Type "Device Manager" in the search box and press ENTER.

    • Look in the Device Manager to the network adapter section.
    • What devices are listed?
    • Are there warning icons?
    • It appears to be a wireless adapter, what's his name? Double-click it and to report to what is shown for "State of the device.

You can also provide additional diagnostic information:

    • Type 'Information system' in the search box and press ENTER.
    • Click in the system information window and select all (CTRL + A) and copy (CTRL + C)

  • CQ60-210US reformatted for Windows XP Prof, but it does not connect to the wireless network...

Long story short, I tried recently to "downgrade" my husband computer CQ60-210US laptop from Vista to XP.  I followed the very detailed guide posted here and everything seems to work great but my computer does NOT connect to my home network.  It comes as an available network, but when I try to connect it goes on to say that the network is no longer available - is yet to ask security key.  I tried to click on the connection to a neighbor to see what would happen and it seems to go further (it asks me the security key).  I can connect directly using the ethernet to the modem cable.

This laptop was initially working on my network wirelessly with Vista.  I use a CLEAR 4 G wireless modem.  The signal from the modem is good.

Can anyone help me identify the problem and propose a solution?  Everything else seems to work well.

    Thank you very much!

    Scope of David

Yes, it is very probably the router.  SMC routers are non-standard (as are most of the routers ISP-issued) and does not play well with HP printers and other devices designed to the WIfi Alliance standards.

I recommend you get a modem by your ISP and go buy your own wireless router.  Get a name-brand a Linksys or Netgear and be happy!

    Hello kkina6bz

I have a few questions to help troubleshooting:

    • How your printer is connected?
    • The icon on the Desktop gives / error message or is it opens at all?
    • You have another computer, you can try scanning from? It would be one of the easiest ways to identify the problem.
    • Have you tried reinstalling the printer software?
    • Have you tried to run printing HP and doctor Scan? If this isn't the case, it is a diagnostic utility that can sometimes find the problems of scanning. HP Print and Scan Doctor

I suggest following the procedure described in the article below. The article contains several possible solutions to correct the mistakes of scan from the control panel of the printer.

Model number J610a - I installed this a couple of years ago and had been fine up til a few weeks of work (scanner and printer) with wireless connectivity. I use Windows 7 Home Premium

Firstly, he said that the scanner was not connected and that I needed to download the software. Whenever I tried to do, he tries to download the software but failed. Now, the printer does not work - it says that the software is installed, but that the printer is not connected to my computer. When I try to follow the steps to connect using the USB cable, the computer shows that the usb cable is connected even! I tried to use printing HP and Scan doctor but that doesn't work either!

    Help, please!

    Hi mpele,.

I found something that I am confident will help. Please try the following:

    1. Make sure your virus checker is updated and then run a full virus scan.
    2. If you do not have a scanner of Malware such as Malwarebytes (www.malwarebytes.org) I would be one to install and run a full scan and remove any malicious software that is found.

After these two steps restart then try a fresh uninstall and reinstall.
