DeviceCapabilities continually in print? DeviceStatus?

Hello... Recently had a power problem and now as soon as I have a link to our network the printer demand continually (prints) DeviceCapabilities? DeviceStatus? I uninstalled the printer drivers and software reinstalled print & drivers, router rebooted, even did a restore of the system since 25/04/14 (had a glitch storm & power more following weekend but the computer has been turned off at the time), we have 4 computers running on the network, but mine is the only one which causes repetitive printing. Please help as I am admin assist, and really need to be able to print without the infernal DeviceCapabilities? DeviceStatus?

Thank you very much for your answer. I have 2 users on this computer. As soon as I connected under another user the problem disappeared. The printer is an Epson WP-4020, but I found several returns for this problem posted by people with different brands and models of printers.

Once again, thank you for the help!

    HI oldtoot,

  • HP Designjet T7100: Designjet T7100 continuous long print document

My plotter is on the local network and works very well.  I have a PDF file that is much larger (longer) that these are great.  Due to the large amount of information on the layout, the police is very low.  This means I have to print large drawing that I can do. If the drawing prints to the maximum width of paper of the plotter scale is sufficient (font is readable).  The print dialog allows to break the document into separate poster sized pieces, but I want to print the whole thing on a piece of paper continuous time.  It's theoretically possible, but I need to figure out the correct settings.  Anyone has experience with this, and you can post the appropriate settings?

    @Douglas_Phelps

I don't have any experience with your printer model, however the User Guidesays that you can create a custom for your printer paper size and that would be useful.  See Chapter 9, Page 80

    A few general ideas

Because you cannot create a larger custom paper size that the driver can handle, you can create your custom paper size to be longer than it is wide, and then perhaps to print the document in the landscape, which actually has the orientation of 90 degrees.  Note: Depending on your printer software, you may need to log outgoing/incoming or restart the computer to see the new paper size in your list.

You can try to open the PDF file in Adobe Reader MS> file > Printe > print preview (open)

Depending on your printer driver software, you can maybe open properties and fnd the paper size option.  The custom paper size should be listed.

Another option of interest (in print preview mode) > under sizing Page and handling > Poster

If the poster is not useful in this context, or if the paper size is elusive (assuming that you did create a model appropriate to the custom made size, try selecting "source of paper to choose depending on the size of Page PDF.  NOTE: By selecting poster appears to eliminate / reduce to zero the possibility to choose paper...

Also on the homepage of the print preview > option to change orientation

Now, I don't know if this will actually work - I have a OfficeJet Pro 8630; It does not print the wonderful, long, rolls of paper.  The smile.  It may be a few minutes of your time to play with the settings.

There may be information on what you need to be mentioned the User Guide - it is quite broad - or there may be something useful in another manual from those that are available to the Web site of your printer Support pages.

  • C4585 trying continually to print the alignment page

I just replaced the black ink cartridge, and the printer asked me to print and scan an alignment page. Printing works fine, but the analysis still fails to "alignment page not detected." The alignment page is printed black and white only, perhaps because the cartridge color is very low, maybe because I put the printer in B & W/gray levels only.

I've got 5 pages of B & W alignment, that all sounds good and is due to complete or skip the alignment step.

Unfortunately the printer continues to try printing alignment pages, market, and also at other random times.

Looks like there is a print job that is stuck in the print queue. Depending on where you have printed the original document, you will need to erase the work out of the queue.

To empty the job queue on your Android phone, try the following steps.

    • Go to the application manager, select Print Spooler and clear Cache/clear data.

To clean the queue on the computer, follow this guide:

I hope this helps. Please respond if you have any questions. I wish you a nice day!

    Thank you

    old guys

I don't know what you mean by "BACK displays."  Do you mean the results to run ipconfig/all in the command prompt window?

In any case, it seems that the IP address of your computer is 192.168.1.42 and IP address of the printer is 192.16.1.24.  It's exactly the way things should be: both devices have the form 192.168.1.x IP addresses, which means that they are on the same "subnet" and so can communicate properly.

One of the things that happens, especially on a network where there are several devices that get turned on and off or disconnected from the network, is that the router re - assign the printer an IP address different.  In this case, it may be that your computer may no longer be able to find it.  The usual way to deal with this is to set up the printer with a static IP address.

Before that, however, because you have an HP printer, you can have another option.

On the problem, open Printers and faxes and right click on the icon for the HP 2605dn.  Select properties, and then click the Ports tab.

You will see a list under the heading "printing on the following ports.  Documents are printed up to the first active port free. "The port for HP 2605dn should be checked and highlighted.  Without clicking anywhere in the list, check the port information in the column "Description".  He will probably say: 'HP Standard TCP/IP Port' although it can just say "Standard TCP/IP Port."

Click on the button "Configure Port".  You will see 'Name of Port' (which will be something like LaserJet2605Series) and "printer name or IP address.  In this box, you will see IP address of the printer (192.168.1.24 OR a name of the printer (for example, desktop printer).)

If the printer has been installed with a 'HP Standard TCP/IP Port', there was also a checkbox just below the printer name or IP address box.  This box says, "Always print to this device, even if its IP address changes."  If you have this box, enter"hostname" printer (get this printer setup page or the internal web server on the printer Network Setup page) and check the box. "  Discount to zero just to make sure that the new connection options are in place.  Does this solve your problem?

For the solution the more reliable and if you don't have a box, use the printer's internal web server to configure the printer to use the static (fixed) IP address.  Make sure that whatever you choose as the static IP of the printer is the same as the IP address in the box in the "Configure the Port" window described above.

On the page for my HP DeskJet 6980 series, the setting is on the "IP configuration" tab on the "Networking" > "Connections" > page 'Wired '.

HP calls the parameter "manual IP".  Define IP address manual that you used, 192.168.1.24.  The value of the manual subnet mask 255.255.255.0.  Set the default gateway of 192.168.1.1 Manual (this is the IP address of your router).

In the next section, set the addresses of DNS server manual to what you saw when running
ipconfig/all in the command prompt window.  In general, these are the DNS servers of your ISP.

My printer HP Deskjet Ink advantage 2010 continues on printing the same page over and over again. I don't really know what is happening. I've tried everything. What should I do?

    Hello

From the desktop, hold down the Windows key and press R.  In the run window, type services.msc and press to enter.  Scroll down to the print spooler service, right click and select Properties, then click the Stop button.  Now search for C:\Windows\System32\Spool\PRINTERS, then delete the work inside this folder - you may need to click a command prompt to get the authority to open the PRINTERS folder.

Restart the computer and you should find that the document has been deleted.

    Kind regards
