  • "Laserjet 1022n Windows Update", causing problems printing: print jobs do not print

    Hello

A few days ago I installed upgrading Windows Laserjet 1022n on my Windows 7 64 bit and since then I can not print a page normally: the page does not print. I use a TCP/IP network port.

I made several attempts to resolve this problem:

-uninstall the printer driver and install it again (I tried the latest version on the HP site and an older one that worked perfectly before)

-update the firmware of the printer to the latest version on the HP site.

When I put the printer in pause and start the print job, you can see in the list. Resumption of the printer, printing starts on the printer but you see that the job remains in the list, flashes again and again. The printer keeps printing the same page.

I don't know what I can do to solve this problem. There is no way to uninstall the update of the HP Laserjet 1022n software because it does not appear in the list of installed programs (course list is also op updates from windows updates).

I have same problem printing to the same printer from another PC Windows 7 (with the same windows update done)

But I have no problem printing with my laptop on an other network printers.

Is there someone who has the same problem and how to solve?

    Thank you for answer

I found the solution on this site: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/59912-29-1022n-printer-stop-printing

Just uncheck the chekbox "enable two-way communication" on the "Ports" tab of the properties of the printer and it works normally again!

  • LaserJet 400 M401n local printer problem

I work for a company with remote office environment.

We have just recently swtched to a new model of small laser printer for the use of the local printer, and I have problems with the first we set up. The LaserJet M401n first was the installation of one of our field technicians program. They connected the device via USB for users HP Elitebook 2540p on docking station and installed the printer using the software from the cd provided and it worked fine.

End user required to move the printer away from the office, so the USB and power supply were disconnected from the printer and it has been moved and reconnected. After that, the computer showed that the printer is offline. Option of printing of the disabled user, but every time jobs have been sent to the queue, offline they errored quickly.

I worked with the user remotely and deleted the printer in printers and faxes and print driver from the options in the server properties in this window. I had the user re - connect the printer, but it was not to recognize that something has been connected.

I went into Device Manager, but I don't see any options to print USB media or DOT4 print media (which is usually the virtual USB port.) There were several devices named "USB Composite Device" and a device called a "USB Mass Storage Device". There are no data storage devices or memory cards connected to the laptop. After removing everyone from the Device Manager, I had the user he disconnect/reconnect the USB from the printer. At this point, the printer has been recognized as connected and adding hardware wizad came. At the same time, a HP Installer utility began. I checked in my computer and there is a removable storage device that provided this installer. It seems that this printer can be a memory chip that contains the software and drivers required.

I used the HP Installer and installed all the software and drivers, and the printer started working again.

A week or two later, the user has contacted me and the Office has had some changes made, then the printer must have been dissconnected and resumed contact with a long USB cable. The same problem resurfaced. The printer is connected and even shows like ready. Jobs fail when submitted, and reconnect the cables or rebooting doesn't fix it.

At this point, I wiped out all the HP report printer software and drivers, removed something that looke HP printer partner since the Device Manager, unplugged the printer and restarted the computer. I connected the printer after the restart and inserted the CD that came with the printer. I used Device Manager to install the printer driver and the print media files on the CD USB (I had to close the HP Installation Wizard about 10 times more it kept popping up). At this stage that the printer has been installed and operational, but when logged in with admin account, the printer should always be prompted for the HP installation software that seems to be running from a USB device stored inside the printer. Which is not "very important, but when I looked at the same way of dissconnected and reconnect the USB cable from the docking station, the printer has stopped printing again.

The laptop is a HP 2540p with a docking station. He seems to have the same problems when we use one of the USB ports on the docking station or the laptop itself.

In our company, we run a range of McAfee as VSE, MEE, MEE/PBA, DLP products.

I will try to upgrade the firmware of the printer and the laptop BIOS. I also asked for one of this model of printers be ordered for our test lab see if we can reproduce the problem on other machines

Ideas or recommendations would be appreciated.

    bigbankitguy,

You mentioned that the printer is connected via USB, is that still OK? I want to try the following:

    1. disable Smart Install via the control panel. (Small icon tool and equipment) Configuration menu > Services > scroll Smart Install > DESACT

Restart your computer and see if that solves your problem. If you continue to have problems, try the following:

    2. go into your task manager > Services tab > click on the button in the lower right of Services > locate HP DS Service > set to automatic; If stopped and then start the service.

    Restart the computer.

    Hi @phlump,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I see that you are unable to print from Internet Explorer 11 to your HP LaserJet 1022n printer. I'd be happy to help you and don't forget to come back to this thread and check "Accept as Solution", if I have successfully helped solve you the problem. If you want to say 'Thank you' to my effort to help, click on the "thumbs up" to give me a Kudos.

I understand that you are able to print from other applications. While this question would be better suited for Microsoft, I can make some suggestions. If these solutions do not help, please contact Microsoft.

Reset Internet Explorer settings (backup your Favorites):

You can reset the Internet Explorer settings to return to the State they were when Internet Explorer has been installed on your PC. This can be useful to solve the problems that could be caused by some settings changed after installation. Reset Internet Explorer is not reversible, and all the previous settings are lost after reset.

  • HP LaserJet M4345 MFP: Network printer problem: cannot print, but can ping

    Good evening

I have a big problem. We have a network HP LaserJet M4345 MFP printer. It is connected to a switch and the switch is connected to a Modem of Telmex.  It has a static IP address. 5 computers to connect to this printer, but I'm going to use one as a sample.

The problem is that I can't print anything.

    • I can install the printer in all computers
    • I ping the printer
    • I can access the printer configuration using a browser
    • I can even scan a document

But I can still print the test page. We have a static IP and it does not repeat the IP address, the host name is unique and date everything is fine. I tried to ping to test for the default gateway and it a ping with a correct response time.  So:

    • The configuration of the printer can be accesed via browser
    • The computer can ping the printer
    • I can scan a document to the PC
    • The printer installs very quickly in all machines
    • The printer can ping the default gateway
    • The IP address and the host name are unique

What could be the problem? I tried to print in all the machines without success.

    Thank you for your attention.

It is possible that the network adapter has a problem but since it's your only work around would be to buy a direct jet EIO card and put in the EIO slot in the back near where the network cable is plugged.  They are fairly cheap on ebay and you want to buy a 610N, 615N or 620N one of these models will work.  You must assign an ip address that is different from the one assigned to the integrated card.  I think that there is a way to disable the built in network card, but I have to carry out additional research on that.  If you have an old hp printer that you do not use with a network card eio, even if older 600N it will work in this printer.

  • LaserJet P1102w - lack of printing problems and sleep-wake duplex in ML

I have my printer installed via AirPrint, the latest firmware and all that.

However, the attempt of Apple to a driver treats this as a very basic printer, and I can no longer print double-sided. There also problems waking up to print if it has not been used for some time. I have to turn on the printer, cancel jobs, place them again and hope it works. Sometimes it takes two or three attempts.

When will they be available for Cougar your real drivers? I want that my printer to work as if it was in SL and Lion.

    Chris

    No, this isn't

When I run the setup I get to step 'Select device' and the printer does not appear. I connected it via USB for it and still nothing. I removed the printing device configured to AirPrint and the same thing. I installed it using the generic 'PCL' profile via the port USB, and the installation program still shows nothing.

However... I returned to the page produced and found another download

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=bi-80684-8&cc=us&DLC=en&LC=en&OS=219&product=4110396&sw_lang=

It is for 10.4 to 10.7, but I gave it a shot. Updated the firmware on my printer (again). Now I can add the printer as "HP LaserJet Professional P1100w, 5.0", and the duplex option is enabled and works!

If this page needs updating to include bones x 10.8. I don't know why it says version 8.0 when the control panel no longer reports as 5.0. Whatever, I print double-sided once again.  I'm a happy camper

    Chris

PS I am that mark it as resolved because it was in a roundabout way, but not with the link you provided.

  • LaserJet P2055d: LaserJet P2055d two-sided printing problems

I have a new computer with Windows 10.  I have connected my LaserJet P2055d and recognized Windows and the driver PLC6.  I don't have the ability to print double-sided, like I did when I was with this printer with a computer running Windows 7.  Any advice would be appreciated on how to acquire the ability to do double-sided printing.

The function "automatic detection" used by some drivers on the install (or update) does not always; make sure the driver knows that a duplex unit is present on the printer (assuming that a single is present):

    • For the instance of the printer in question, bring up the printer properties dialogue.
    • Select the device settings tab.
    • Make sure the duplex unit is set to installed and not installed.

You will probably need to be logged in with administrator credentials in order to change the settings of the device.

  • Windows 7 x 64 Laserjet 1022N printing issues

Background:  I have three computers connected via a cable network on a LaserJet 1022N.  The computers are running on a domain.  Users have a user access to the computer.  All computers are new and under Windows 7 x 64 with the latest updates applied.  All of these computers have the same problem. A Windows 7 x 32 attached to the computer even works well.

Problem: When the computers send a print job to the printer, it continually back at work until the job is removed from the queue and the printer is restarted.  If I send a copy out a test page.  It does not matter which application is printing.  We tested with Word, Excel and Acrobat Reader.  It does not matter the length of the document sent to the printer.  We treid a documents as well as multi-page documents page.

Have you tried to uncheck the option "Enable bidirectional support" in the port real estate 1022N tab.

Can you please try the following:

    (1) Press Win + r (run the window will open)

  • HP Laserjet 1022n, 1022nw printers shared cannot print

    Hello.

We have a number of these printers shared on a Windows Server 2003 server for Windows XP clients.

We use Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 on certain print servers and Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 on the other.

Some of them work, but some refuse to work. You will get the first page to print, and then print queue will be for more claim to be printing, when it is not. Restarting the spooler service will reset things. I can't what is different between those who work and those who are not, well on the same network, it seems that no 1022 will work at all. I've tried three different Windows 2003 servers, and they all fail.

Printer drivers that I use are the last leave the HP website, and I have firmware updated printers also.

    I use a Standard HP TCP/IP port.

I found that they seem to print correctly if shared on a Windows 2000 Server, but it doesn't really help me.

Can anyone suggest anything please? We have been obliged to the coil of a number of them out of Windows 2000, but this should be temporary.

    Thank you very much

    Paul.

    Hi Rick.

I spent some time on this investigation via google but also experiment with the drivers, and it seems that if you be wrapped this printer from a Windows 2003 server and that you have the latest MS patches, then you can print only if you have administrative privileges on the server. It does not matter at the end of the workstation. However, it seems that some of our printers are not affected, and I can't believe that users who continue to print well have administrative privileges on the server.

Anyway, there is a simple solution to this - use the Laserjet III of the original distribution of XP driver. This driver appears to print very well to the 1022.

However, it would be nice if HP has acknowledged the problem somewhere and eventually created new drivers. I see no evidence of this on the internet.

Hope that this workaround works for you.
