  The current versions of Firefox have allowed a built-in PDF Viewer that has all of the features that other PDF as Adobe Reader readers have or can not work properly otherwise.

  You can change the action for Portable Document Format (PDF) to Preview in Firefox to use another application like Adobe Reader or define always ask in "Firefox > Options/Preferences > Applications.

  You can set the pref pdfjs.disabled true on the topic: config page to disable the build-in the PDF Viewer.

  You can check the value of pref plugin.disable_full_page_plugin_for_types on the topic: config page and delete the application/pdf if it is present or reset the pref via the context menu by default if you want to display PDF documents in Firefox with another application (i.e. not integrated PDF Viewer).

  With the current version, it only downloads the pdf on FireFox and IE. On Chrome, it will not. It will display only the string 'MAXIS_RENEWAL. "DRIVER_FILE_API.download_file_upload? p_file = xxxsomeID" in the region.

  When I copy the string and passed in the url of the browser, it downloads the files.

  I can't really understand the problem. Any help is deeply appreciated.

  I think I understand quite well the functioning of cross-references in Framemaker, but one thing that bothers me, it's how, when you generate a PDF from Framemaker file and clicking on a reference, the resulting page view locates the cross at the top of a page reference marker.

  It's very annoying and confusing when, say, referring to a figure of legend that appears at the bottom of a page. Page display that results when such a reference in a PDF document after Center the text of the _following_ page, with the text of the legend of the barely visible figure at the top of the page.

  My question: is it possible to build cross references that show the page, when you click in a PDF document, is centered on the page that displays the cross-reference material?

  Not AFAIK in FrameMaker.

  But in Acrobat, set the initial view one Page instead of continuous.

  File > properties > Initial View.

  Given that we have upgraded to Adobe Acrobat DC, I'm not able to create a PDF from Framemaker 11. Message says that the document is not PDF / x-3: 2002 compliance checks. Notepad displays a list showing annotations were found inside bleedbox, cropping area or artbox and lists on the pages. Don't know what are these annotations.

  However when I run the page 3, I get a messy confusion of the characters to the screen against the PDF that was downloaded earlier...

  I usually download PDF via a report so I wonder if the code I use is not sustainable at APEX 4.x

  This seems to happen only on chrome when displayed in the browser of the graphics, especially the text appears incorrectly, or in this case at all. You can see that the financial 'Fi' is missing. It is a major problem because most of the people who visit the site hit the download and the PDF file automatically opens in the browser. Is there any solution for this? Not bad I exported in Indesign? Fonts should be returned in an object before you export it in PDF format (this is the galley)?

  BUT a quick fix is to download the PDF file, display in the browser, then refresh the page and display all fonts. Weird. It is a step that many will miss.

  You probably view the PDF file in the viewer of PDF from Google Chrome and NOT Adobe's PDF Viewer.

  3. If you see (active), then you use the viewer of PDF of Chrome.

  Missing in many ways for the feature.  Fonts is one of them.

  If you have installed the Adobe Reader software to the deafult location you will see in your hard drive / Applications folder.

  Try this:

  1. Quit Safari

  2. from Finder > go > go to folder... > type in the path: /Applications/ and click 'Go '.

  3. run "Adobe Reader"

  4. accept the end user license

  5. open a PDF file in Safari.

• How to restore good export PDF from InDesign CS3 or CS5 in Snow Leopard?

  I had no problem to export to PDF from InDesign CS3 files (on a Mac Pro running Snow Leopard 10.6.4) until last weekend, when all the fonts appear bitmap or thin and rough, and the images lost color depth and contrast. When I copied the InDesign document to my MacBook Pro laptop, also running 10.6.4 the PDF has emerged with its original quality. Support calls Adobe referred me to the incompatibilities between Snow Leopard and InDesign documents. One of these documents was several pages long, but I could not print from the Adobe to my HP website all-in-one Officejet, because one-third of the document was hidden under a white board. This makes it impractical for the troubleshooting document, because I don't have enough screen real estate (even on a 23-inch screen) to let the open document and all the pages and dialogue boxes needed for reference. Back to the phone and chat support, I was told to upgrade my Creative Suite Premium CS3 to CS5 ($ 800!) and buy the updated Acrobat Pro ($200), with no guarantee that this cost of $1,000 would actually solve the problem. I downloaded the trial version of InDesign CS5, and it has NOT solved the problem. I am also afraid that the problem did not exist before last weekend. Before that, my CS3 and Snow Leopard combination worked very well. Then I checked the forums and was appalled by the variety of issues related to PDF files, for which there seems to be no general solution. Meanwhile, I have hundreds of ads, I'm supposed to be prepare and e-mailing as evidence PDF to businesses nationwide. I have two books of 120 with 256 pages to be submitted to printers in PDF format with all kinds of fonts and files image belonging to my clients. The last time I presented a paper on a printer by electronic mail, the work went perfectly. This time and the next, it is obvious, that I won't be able to send a PDF file to all! If this is the case, my activities related to the directories of 27 will be unable to absorb the expenditures necessary to start all over again with software and new computers, and I'll be out of business.   Such an entry in the context menu is probably added by a PDF file about the extension, in order to check your extensions.

  Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

  • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe
