  Hello. I have a problem with the sound on my computer. I think that's maybe a bug in Windows 7. Whenever I try to play music or watch a video there is some distorted crackling sounds that come also with audio. I had no such problem in XP or Vista. I have tried everything to solve this problem re-installing the audio drivers switching different and trying different versions of Windows 7 but without success. I have not had any problems with him using Windows 7 beta, but I do now running version 7600. And my lapyop is well capable to run Windows 7 at 2.26 Ghz CPU, 2 GB Ram, 320 MB graphics card - its very fast. Only problem is her.   Hello. I do have the problem fixed - this is if you have a RealTek sound card. You need to contact them about the problem and they should give you a diagnostic tool. Run the tool and the info. Then send it to RealTek. I got good service from them that everything was done in half an hour! They sent me a version updated their driver who was in phase beta but the change Turn Off Mode jumper (if it makes no sense to me) and it works completely fine! I even had new arrivals with him too - special enhancments that can change the height of the audio, karaoke, effects on the environment and Equalizer mode. No crackling or distorted sound.

  Mute key functionality is provided by IDT Audio software, so the problem may be that Windows 8 has installed a reference driver that does not contain.  Often, the Windows 7 version works Ok, so I would try downloading and installing the following driver IDT.

  You have a few options as I see it.

  Click Start in the search type Recovery Manager, and then click it once select Yes on user access control, and then select I need immediate help and then select driver & select recovery requires the audio driver and install it and then restart the device.

  Go into Device Manager and uninstall the sound driver and restart and unit automatically installs the driver.

  Try to run the system restore to the date where the unit was working fine.

  Try to update the driver from hp.com for Audio & Bios site.

  Last step is to perform a recovery on the unit before they please back up your data.

  If your laptop is still under warranty, contact HP and make arrangements for the speaker replaced.

• HP Pavilion P6 - 2220t: distortion of sound when using Vinly to CD software

  Used Audacity and Golden Records Vinyl to CD software while using Numark Platinum vinyl and Uphono devices. Sound of the devices was good through headphones, while listening to that recording has been distorted and unpleasant. Audacity has worked with the previous desktop, but not this one. In addition, registration counters were bolted on two software. Not sure if it's a sound card, or a series of bad luck with the devices and P6. Never had a problem with Numark Platinum the previous desktop, but faced this distortion on the P6 - 2220t. Also noted the audacity meter monitoring does not always work on this desktop computer.

  I don't think that it is a problem of HP hardware.  I suggest contacting the customer to the software publisher to see if they can help you.  They know the best software.  It could be that there is an incompatibility which they can identify.

  I had my T500 now for about 3 months and you have problems with the sound and crackling distortion. It is not obvious when you play, but loading Youtube videos, it is particularly evident. Maybe something to do with interference with the network card, I'm not sure.

  I just thought that Id mention a solution to the problem. Lenovo has recently updated the IDE ATA/ATAPI driver for Intel ICH9M/E/M SATA AHCI controller driver. This seems to solve this problem as a stuttering problem I had with my mouse I have ensure that was due to Razer drivers not Lenovo.
