    Hello
I have a HP laptop Compaq Presario R3000 running XP sp2.
While trying to install software for my new HP laserjet printer 451color, I couldn't finish because my computer seems to have a problem with the file gdiplus.dll.  After a regsvr32 in the "Run" dialog box, I get the following message: "gdiplus.dll was loaded, but the DllRegisterServer entry point was not found.  This file cannot be saved. " This problem MAY occur in the past, while the installation of other software or printer, I don't remember, but I CAN get frustrated with it and simply ignored and passed without being able to use everything I tried to add. • The module "mscomctl.ocx" was loaded but the call to DllRegisterServer failed with error 0x8002801c code.

Software Access 2003 worked for years. Then received "There is no object in this control" which referred to a control in mscomctl.ocx I used in a form. Then, I got an error, "There was a problem accessing a property or method of the OLE object.".  Then I tried to re - insert the control in the form and got the error "the OLE server is not registered.  Then, I tried to register the OCX with the command 'regsvr32 mscomctl.ocx' BACK and received the 0x8002801c error message in the title of this question.
    Help please!

Access discussion groups, I found a description of a problem with the controls in Visual Basic 6.0 Runtime Extended Files. Update of security 960715 disables controls in Visual Basic 6.0 Runtime Extended Files.  In my case, the TreeView control is in MSCOMCTL. OCX. It's logical.

The proposed solution is to download the update on the Visual Basic 6.0 Runtime Extended Files and install.  I did and I now have MSCOMCTL. OCX version 6.1.98.16. I run my Access app and I get the same error, "It is not object in this control".  I re - record MSCOMCTL. OCX, open the form, remove and reinsert the TreeView control.  The same problem.  Will there be another question in the newsgroups dealing with my problem?

Moreover, the 0x8002801c error went away after installing the Vista SP2.  However, I always get the error "there is no object in this control".

I studied the problem of killbit described in the FAQ of The Kill - Bit which is suppose to disable certain controls in IE and 'Scenarios of Microsoft Office' (?). I find valid Pheonix-Bit entries in my registry (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE Microsoft\Internet Explorer\ActiveX Compatibility\ {...} corresponding to the TreeView control ' killed'.  No change to the error.

Sometimes miracles happen.  Life is back to normal, and the problem stopped. Microsoft must have fixed in a recent press release or there was divine intervention.

After you remove the Treeview control on the form and re - insert, the problem has been resolved.  So, the solution is:

-Install the Visual Basic 6.0 Runtime Extended Files.
-Remove the Treeview controls on all forms.
    -Re-insert the Treeview controls.

    muweb.dll    "            "              "            "

I guess my question is what I have to do a restore of the system under windows 7, before I can upgrade to windows 10? Or y at - it another way?

    Hello glockrow ;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your post about windows update problems and wanted to help.

I would that be able to say that updating to Win10 was an exact science where we know exactly how he does it, and what it should - but the flooding of this and other instances of Win10 problem after that problem indicates that, at best, we are all guessing.

So, I think, from what I've read and done on my PC, is that you SHOULD be able to avoid the problem of missing updates by updating using Win10 created using this MS link media: 10 Windows Installer using the media - Windows help authoring tool

After you create the DVD or USB, NOT boot from it. Instead, insert it into your PC and, if it does not auto-start, right click on the file setup.exe and run it.

HOWEVER - and this is important - PC Win7 have a rate low success updated Win10 without problem - primariluy lack of OEM Win10 drivers.  Typical problems include display artifacts (to cause to be obliged to use the driver for the card of Microsoft Basic), not wireless and touchpad problems.  The drivers Microsoft provides have only the most basic features, with none of the extras that the HP drivers bring to the stage.

It is further complicated by the function Win10 GoBack, whereby you can return to your original operating system, being known to be unreliable. So when your upgrade machine malfunctioning, only then you discover that you cannot return the machine to work, that you had originally!

You can protect yourself against ending up with a damaged machine - seriously considering using a free third-party product that works for airport Imaging/restoration - Macrium Reflect.

Macrium reflect (MR) provides a FREE version that can be used to image and restore partitions or drives together.

What I recommend is the following:
    (1) download and install Macrium reflect (MR)
    (2) run M. and choose the option: "Create an image of the partition (s) required to backup and restore Windows" to write a full backup to an external drive or USB key
    (3) use the option to create a CD or a USB startup key

NOW, you have the means to restore a full system that works for the external hard drive or USB key in a few minutes.

So now you can recharge before with the upgrade, knowing that whatever happens, you will be able to return to your currently works in a few minutes.

    Good luck

I'm a volunteer and I do not work for, or represent, HP.

  • TestStand on Windows 2K 3 x 64 deployment issues

    Holil:

I hope that there can someone advise me.

I recently tried to build an application TS to deploy on a server running WIndows Server 2003 x 64, and I ran into some difficulties.  On my development system, (32-bit Windows XP pro), I built a deployment TS Installer.  I transferred to the destination machine.  Installation failed... He says that many files were missing from different CAB files.  I tried again... the second time I had more luck... the installation seems to take.  Using the License Manager, I turned on my setup using my development license (my deployment license has not yet arrived).  I tried to run my application and I get an exception that seems to indicate that the ActiveX DLL are not saved:

    Unhandled exception: System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0 x 80040154): C

at System.Windows.Forms.UnsafeNativeMethods.CoCreateInstance (Guid & clsid, Obj

I tried to register these manually to help

    regsvr32 "D:\Program NIUninstaller Instruments\TestStand 4.1\API\DotNet\Assemblies\CurrentVersion\NationalInstruments.TestStand.Interop.UI.AxControls.dll"

but he complains that this DLL has no DllRegisterServer entry point.  (Is this the wrong DLL to register?)

I tried to uninstall my deployment and installation the teststand full... and the SeqEdit seems to work fine.  (He must have registered the DLLs required, no?)  My app, however, still does not. I try to install Visual Studio to see if I can rebuild the application on this system with better results.

    I missed an important step?

    Thank you!

    Tom MacLean

I think the problem was I have to target the solution for a x 86 platform... not any platform.  If I have other problems with this particular application, I was able to recreate the example Simple OI in a new project with the same exception that I had with mine, and change the target platform does the job.

  • Cryptsvc.dll serious problem with Windows Update.

    Hello world

    (Vista Home Premium - 32-bit)
I'm having a serious problem to Cryptographic Services which will affect my ability to update windows and use my PC. Since all April 24 Windows was not able to update and I noticed that my computer has been running extremely slow. Manager audit tasks revealed that svchost.exe ate about 50% of my CPU at all times.

When I checked the services running in svchost.exe, I found that Cryptsvc.dll was eating my resources. I finished the process (svchost.exe) and my processor immediately returned to normal. I checked the wires all over the internet and while I see a lot of people have had problems with crytpsvc.dll I can't find someone who knows my specific problem.

To start Windows Update, this svchost.exe also usually starts and causes the update of Windows hang saying something like "Download x updated. (Total 0Kbs, 0% complete.) and the progress bar continues to scroll, but nothing happens (I left this all night to test and it was the same thing when I woke up in the morning).

The svchost.exe in question contains generally:
    CryptSvc
    Dnscache
    Tapisrv

Check the Sysinternals Process Explorer process revealed that CryptSvc was eat the processing power. Also if I manually start this service via; Right click computer > manage > Services - my processor immedietly rises to 50% again.

I ran many anti-spyware/virus controls, including Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool and they detected some small viruses ' but not managed to solve my problem. I tried to register the DLL in question, but I get the error:

"" Cryptsvc.dll"module was loaded, but the DllRegisterServer entry point was not found. Make sure 'Cryptsvc.dll' is a .dll file or ocx valid and then try again. »

What sounds horribly wrong to me.

Unfortunately I can not format my PC because I don't have a copy of windows (my pc didn't come with one) otherwise it would have been my first step.

If anyone could advise what newspapers you see to help diagnose it, I post them here (don't really know what to do more).

Help would be appreciated, I'm getting sick of having to kill svchost every 20 minutes to keep my computer running.

    Hi Nick12321

The link below shows you how to analyze the log file of SFC
    http://support.Microsoft.com/default.aspx/KB/928228

Perhaps a better way to change the file is to use Notepad instead of modify it.
Open an elevated command prompt, go to the folder where the sfcdetails.txt file is and enter
    Notepad sfcdetails.txt

Copy and past the last 30 lines or so back here in the Thread (Post) - thanks

    Hi all

I have a software that worked very well in a 32-bit of Windows Server 2008, I installed the same software in a 64-bit Windows server 2012 R2.

I get an "error 48 error loading the dll" error when I run.

I tried to register the dll through command regsvr32. I get an error "dll was loaded, but the DllRegisterServer entry point was not found."

I checked the dependence of the dll with other files you use Depends.exe

I tried to copy the dll in the other place, but none of them worked.

I still get the same error when I run the application.

Please help us with this if you know the solution.

Forgive me if this isn't the correct phase and guide me to the correct page.

    Thanks in advance.

This issue is beyond the scope of this site (for consumers) and to be sure, you get the best (and fastest) reply, we have to ask either on Technet (for IT Pro) or MSDN (for developers)

  • Windows update error 80070424 code and 0x80070005

Impossible to update windows more (service pack) been like that for months (can't even to service pack 2) that's what I tried (tried a lot of things besides)

Step 1: Went to start-> all programs-> Accessories. Then click on "Command prompt" and click on "Run as Administrator".

Step 2: Typed REGSVR32 WUAUENG. DLL in the command line and press ENTER. Then I got a "DllRegisterServer c:\windows\system32\wuaueng.dll error could not go further to move forward with:

Step 1: Click on start-> all programs-> Accessories. Then right-click "Command Prompt" and click "Run as Administrator".

Step 2: Type REGSVR32 WUAUENG. DLL in the command line and press ENTER. You will get a window "DllRegisterServer in successful c:\windows\system32\wuaueng.dll.

Step 3: Then please pass to enter the following commands one by one. A success notification is received after each command.

    REGSVR32 WUCLTUX. DLL

    REGSVR32 STINKS. DLL

    REGSVR32 WUPS2. DLL

    REGSVR32 WUWEBV. DLL

OK, after completing all the steps mentioned above, you have fixed the error code: 80070424 Windows update. Now try Windows Update again.

Put up-to-date Windows sometimes also have other errors, such as the error 80070005 error 646, error 80070490.

And Yes, it is a registered version. Bought for my son in a department store.

    Thank you

  • Error with MSXML 4.0 in Windows 7 (64-bit)

    Hello

I'm having a problem with MSXML. I'm running on a Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. I am launching a game called 'Age of Empires 3 '.

I installed twice, and I get the same problem "MSXML 4.0 is not installed correctly, the program needs to run".

My version of MSXML is 4.20 and it says I haveSP2 MSXML as what the details of the file show.

    I downloaded "MSXML 4.0 SP3 " and "MSXML 4.0 SP2 " of http://support.microsoft.com/kb/973685/ here

and it gives me this error when I open these files

"Error opening installation log file. Verify that the specified log file location exists and is writable. »

I also went here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/810209 and I also have an error then

Method3: extract and save XML files Step 1: extract the file
    (It worked without problem)

    Step 2: Save files

    1. click on Start and then clickrun .

    2. in the run box, type regsvr32 MSXML4.dll, and then click OK .

After clicking on OK , I get an error and the error reads

"Module"MSXML4.dll"may not compatible with the version of Windows that you are running."

    Check if the module is compatible with a version 86(32bit) or regsvr32.exe 64(64bit) x x ».

Anyone know how I can get this fixed a problem?

PS: can I play Flight Simulator X very well without any problem and if I'm not mistaken both games require MSXL 4.0.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your help and your time.

    Hi, level,

I suggest that you try the steps in the Microsoft article in the mentioned average lower.

    Method 1

    (a) visit the following Microsoft Web site:

    (b) http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=3144B72B-B4F2-46DA-B4B6-C5D7485F2B42 & displaylang = in (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=3144B72B-B4F2-46DA-B4B6-C5D7485F2B42 & displaylang = en)

    (c) scroll to the bottom of the page.

    (d) locate and download the following files:

    ·         MSXML.msi

    ·         Msxmlcab.exe

Note Save the files downloaded to the desktop.

    (e) when the download is complete, double-click Msxml.msi and then follow the instructions on your screen.

    (f) restart the computer when you are prompted.

    Method 2 Extract the files

To extract the files, follow these steps:

    (a) double-click the Mxmlcab.exe file that you download in method 1.

    (b) create a new folder on the desktop.

    (c) when you are prompted, select the folder that you created in the step above as the location for the extracted file. Then, clickOK.

    Method 3 Save the files

To save the files, follow these steps:

    (a) click the Start button.

    (b) in the search box, type command prompt.

    (c) in the list of results, right-click guest, and then click run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    (d) by default the location in the command line would be inc:\windows\system32

    (e) type cd... Press enter

    (f) type cd... Press enter

    (g) now, it would be to c:\ now type cd c:\users\\desktop\

    (h) now its c:\users\\desktop\ now, type regsvr32 MSXML4.dll and then click OK.

Note You should receive the following message is displayed:

    DllRegisterServer in successful msxml4.dll.

    (i) click OK.

Check now if you run the game.

    Method 4

If the steps above fail then I suggest that you try to execute the MSXML 4.0 Service Pack 2 (Microsoft XML Core Services) and the game installed in compatible mode and check if it works.
