  • 2016-002 App Store of security update problem

    I downloaded and installed Security Update 2016-002 10.10.5 three times, and it always appears as an update that is available on the App Store.

    It also appears as having been installed 3 times today (each of these updates in double has its own line) under "Installed updates in the last 30 days" under updates.

    What gives?

    This means generally that it is not actually be installed.

    I recommend that you manually download this update combo, which is supposed to have that security update as well and see if that fixes the problem and that he fixes what might be bad start.

  • don't restart after update Win xp pro

    After the installation of the update package new instaled yesterday, my pc restarts. First of all, I get the Safe Mode screen. He doesn't care what I select when the startup screen appears th start stops and my computer restart.

    Anyone know this problem or has a sollution for this?

    Thank you, gabber77

    If it restarts, you can choose to disable the automatic restart on system failure option, you can see what is happening, then you can fix it.

    If there is a problem starting, XP is configured to automatically try to start again and you can stuck in a loop not being able to go beyond the screen boot options, or none of these startup options you choose will work only.

    Sometimes, when XP has a problem starting or falls down and tries to start again, it will give you a "short" menu of boot options and none of them will appear to be good to get your system going again.  You have tried them all!

    The options are similar to the Advanced Boot Options menu XP, but the only option that you need (disable automatic error system reboot) are not offered, because XP went too far during the boot process and offers a limited number of boot options.

    If this is the case, you must call Options menu advanced boot yourself until you do not see the option:

    Disable the automatic restart in the event of system failure

    When you get the XP Advanced Options correct start menu you want to see, he has options on it like these:

    Safe mode
    Safe mode with networking
    Safe mode with command prompt

    Enable Boot logging
    Enable VGA mode
    Last good Configuration known (your most recent settings that worked)
    Directory Services Restore Mode (Windows domain controllers only)
    Debug mode
    Disable the automatic restart in the event of system failure

    Start Windows normally
    Reset
    Return to OS Choices Menu

    You need to choose in this menu is the option:

    Disable the automatic restart in the event of system failure

    Then if XP does not start normally, you will see an error screen with information and clues about the problem and then you can decide what to do next.

    If you do not see the automatic restart on system failure option turn it off, you must reset your system and start typing the key F8 on the keyboard until you see her disable automatic restart on system failure option.

    If you miss the window of opportunity F8, you must try again and start tapping the F8 key with more urgency (earlier and more frequently) until you see disable automatic restart on system failure, and then select.

    You must keep trying the F8 menu until you see disable automatic restart on system failure option, and select it.

    If your system has a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD), we need to know what the screen says:

    Here's a BSOD example showing information you provide:

    http://TechRepublic.com.com/i/tr/downloads/images/bsod_a.jpg

    Send for the nose and the Red arrows (3 to 4 lines total).

    Send all * line STOP message since there are clues in the 4 parameters.

    Ignore the boring text unless it seems important to you.  We know what a BSOD looks like, we need to know what your BSOD looks like.

    Answering queries and results report of the disable automatic restart on system failure screen and you can decide what to do next.

  • Cannot restart after El Capitan put 10.11.6 updated

    I have a MacBook Pro (13-inch, mid 2012) with the OS X10.11.5 (15F34). When the update to 10.11.6, rebooting is not the case, the update is not implemented. Finder and System Information.app do not react. It is impossible to relaunch the Finder or kill the Information.app system. I tried a hard stop, but I come back to the same situation, even after waiting the necessary time to reopen not already running applications. How to do this?

    The only application that I recently installed is Express Scribe, a transcription software I really need and I am reluctant to remove or uninstall. Is there a solution? Thanks in advance for your help.

    Try to boot inSafe Mode and see if the problem persists? This will allow to test if the problem is in your user or system.

    Restart now ' shift '.

    (Wait to take more time to start in this way because it runs a check of directory first. Also give it some time after the start because he runs maintenance routines at the beginning).

  • 2016-002 10.10.5 - security update problem

    The recent update on my MacPro (2 days ago) came with a message after reboot that "in order to run applications needed rebuild libraries" or words to that effect. He then took my password did not accept despite several attempts. I continued pressing ESC until the message has disappeared. With the reboot, all my request in the lower tray buttons had disappeared and the standard wallpaper for Yosemite was back, so all my user settings have disappeared. I run the base operating system off my MacPro and the balance of my data, applications, documents etc. off a Lacie Bay record of 10 to 5. I tried to do a restore from Time Machine and restored the disc matrix. I then ran a restore based on internet for my MacPro drive. My user settings were not returned. All my photos in iPhoto are missing and reloading on the Cloud. I also found that many files on my table had not been restored and had to restore those files on a selective basis. This morning iTunes appears as if it was the first time, it runs, and I discovered that all my music albums (500 odd) have disappeared.

    I'm not really impressed by this...

    Problems like this are sometimes caused by files that should belong to you but are locked or have the wrong permissions. This procedure will check for these files. It makes no changes and is therefore not, in itself, a solution.

    First, empty the trash, if possible.

    Triple-click any where in the line below on this page to select, then copy the selected text in the Clipboard by pressing Control-C key combination:

    find ~ $TMPDIR.. \( -flags +sappnd,schg,uappnd,uchg -o ! -user $UID -o ! -perm -600 \) 2>&- | wc -l | pbcopy

    Launch the Terminal application integrated in one of the following ways:

    ☞ Enter the first letters of his name in a Spotlight search. Select from the results (it should be at the top).

    ☞ In the Finder, select go utilities ▹ of menu bar or press the combination of keys shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

    ☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.

    Paste in the Terminal window by pressing command + V. The command may take a significant amount of time to run.

    Wait for a new line ending with a dollar sign ($) to appear.

    The output of the command will be a number. It is automatically copied to the Clipboard. Please paste in a response.

    The Terminal window does not display the output. Please do not copy from there.

    I just updated the 2016-001 (Sep 02/16) security update on El Capitan v10.11.6 and it has caused a major system failure, twice.

    All applications are unusable, cannot load system preferences, constantly get "led unexpected resignations" error windows pop up that won't go away.   It wont let me report it to Apple and ignore just made another appear.

    First time I started to the Cmd - R system recovery and reloaded OS - X and spent a few hours fixing all the links of the app, then reloaded the updated security after several own boots and's done it exactly the same again.

    Having just now booted to safe mode and empty the contents of/Users/yourname/Library/Caches in the trash, but it made no difference.  Have a time machine backup of it is 6 weeks, but not yet used.

    Seems that I'm not alone... maybe Apple was too fast it rush out before the big event in next weeks...

  • 2016-001 security update restart blocks iMac

    This is an iMac of 2013 end on OS X 10.11.6. Installation of security update 2016-001 10.11.6 requires a reboot. The iMac freezes on the restart with a black screen showing a cursor sensitive but do not restart. Is the only alternative to the power of the machine cycle. I downloaded and reinstalled OS X 10.11.6 on the App Store. After installation, restart in the Apple menu has worked very well and directly for 3 restarts successfully. I then tried again to install the security update. When he initialled the reboot, the machine hung up again as previously described. I have power drove the machine and after reboot, restart from the Apple menu has failed, resulting in the same shot on reboot as described above - black screen, sensitive cursor.

    The machine runs an i7 processor at 3.5 GHz with 16 GB 1600 Mhz DDR3 RAM and a 256 GB SSD.

    Any ideas on how to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated.

    TIA,

    John

    If the problem is still there, try to start safe mode using your usual account.  Disconnect all devices except those necessary for the test. Shut down the computer and then put it up after a 10 second wait. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the SHIFT key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. Startup is considerably slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a check for directory and disables all start-up and connection, among other things. When you restart normally, the initial restart may be slower than normal. If the system is operating normally, there may be 3rd party applications that pose a problem. Try to delete/disable the third-party applications after a reboot using the UN-Installer. For each disable/remove, you need to restart if you do them all at once. If it works, try to rerun the update from the drop-down list. If it is successful, use the link below for the security update.

    After the recent update (2016-001) for Yosemite 10.10.5 I can't access certain sites.

    I use the connection cable to the router (192.168.1.1). It says not available.

    Diagnosis of Internet, said ok.

    I also have Windows in VirtualBox. From there on, I can access my router and surf the Internet.

    I also have a VPN I can reach my router from the "outside" and surf.

    But never directly with 192.168.1.1.

    Ping is ok< 1="">

    Browser Safari, GC and FF. All the same.

    All this happened after the update.

    Email is ok (Thunderbird)

    DNS seems ok because I get ip addresses in the search.

    I saw a lot of similar community issues and of many workarounds, but none that really works.

  • Mac restarts after the last security update

    Hello, I upgraded my imac (late 2009) to El Captitan, a few days ago and everything went well and I had no problem to use it after the upgrade.

    Yesterday I tried to update the last security fix (2016-001 10.11.6) and now it will not re - start. I get a clear grey screen with a circle with a line through it.

    Can anyone help please?

    Thank you for using communities of Apple Support. It is my understanding of your light a circle with a bar symbol backslash when you try to start your iMac. I use my iMac every day and I would be very concerned if he does not start correctly. I'm happy to help you.

    This particular screen means that your Mac could not find a valid system folder from upward. I recommend that you try reinstalling OS X using OS X Recovery. Please follow the steps below.

    To boot from OS X Recovery, hold down the command (⌘) r immediately after start-up or that you restart your Mac. Release when you see the Apple logo. If you can not boot from OS X Recovery, now try the Command + Option + R key at the start of the OS X Internet Recovery*.

  • How to check remotely that a computer has been restarted after Labview LIFE 2011 has been installed on it?

    Hello

    I'm deploying an application Labview 2011 on 150 XP machines in various plants worldwide. Currently, all the machines still have an old 8.21 Labview runtime (+ old DAQmx). I sent a procedure to my colleagues in the plants so that they fit the new runtime environment (+ new DAQmx). For my part, I built a code to check my PC if a certain registry key is present on the PC 150 who told me that the new run installer or not.

    The key I found is:

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\1C5E801AE54C4AE43A59FC169F95CA28]
    "ProductName"="NOR-DAQmx Configuration 9.3.5 Support MAX"
    "PackageCode"="61EEAEC207A28A842B3341ED6809453D."
    'Language' = dword:00000009
    "Version" = dword:0923 c 001
    "Transfer" = DWORD: 00000001
    "AdvertiseFlags" = dword:00000184
    "InstanceType" = DWORD: 00000000
    "AuthorizedLUAApp" = DWORD: 00000000
    "Clients" = hex (7): 3A, 00, 00, 00, 00, 00

    It works well but it does not say that the PC has restarted after the Setup has been run. If I do not have to restart the PC and try to run my Labview 2011 executable I get a long error message (NIDAQmx not registered,...).

    As it seems difficult to get the properties of a key to know when it was installed I was leaning rather to check whether or not a certain DLL (?) was recorded. But it's just a vague idea, and I don't know how to set it up.

    I enclose the code that I have and that works well, but cannot differentiate between Labview 2011 installed runtime and PC restarted or not.

    Thanks for the help

    Christophe

    You could look for a file that would be created as part of the installation to determine date/time Setup (ini or another file created as part of the runtime support installed)

    Combine that with a request of availability of the station and you can calculate if the station was longer than the time since the installation. Not perfect, but should be possible...
