• Difference between the cDAQ-9174 and cDAQ-9178

  I have several cRIO-9081.  Each cRIO-9081 running NOR-DAQmx 15.5.  On four of the cRIO-9018 we show you cDAQ - 9178 with 8 modules.  Everything just worked.  On the fifth cRIO-9018, we tried to connect a cDAQ-9174.  The aircraft appeared in the Windows Device Manager and MAX, but MAX has indicated that the aircraft was missing (error-88705) and that Windows can't find a driver for the instrument.

  We then plugged a cDAQ-9178 in the fifth cRIO and everything just worked.

  What is the difference between a cDAQ-9174 and cDAQ-9178 other than the number of the module support?

  Hi Paul,.

  It seems it could be a driver problem! What DAQmx version you have installed on two computers? Reinstall the latest version may be worth it because it looks like there may be corruption. You can find the latest version here: http://www.ni.com/download/ni-daqmx-15.5/5901/en/

  There are modules connected to the cDAQ chassis?

  Also, sometimes, this can happen if you do not restart your computer after the installation of the NOR-DAQmx driver. Restart your computer after the driver installation will allow you to reserve the device successfully. Here are a few others not to try:

  I do turn a cDAQ-9174 with modules 9225 and 9239 to measure the voltage (120, 208-240, 277 VAC) and current (via the clamp amp i400, Fluke - 10mA/exit A) respectively.

  I have the set scale scale Differential No. (1:1 I guess) for 100: 1 for current and voltage.  With the acquisition mode set to "N samples", 10 samples to read, at the rate of 500 m.  This feeds into 'EPM_Power.vi' (polymorphic VI of the palette of EMP... can be downloaded here, http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/en/nid/209826)

  I try to check my numbers with an Analyzer of power quality of 435 Fluke and supporting that upward is a Fluke 179 True RMS DMM with clamp amp i200 (for current playback)

  Now, I'm running is my numbers I take data look like they're following a curve of fishing... the averages are on the right, but when my blood pressure is expected to be relatively stable, it's over the map... same story with my current readings.  I tried several different filters without success.  I would like to have relatively stable values for voltage and current so my other values are correct.  Is there a signal conditioner or filter that will help with this?

  Hi, Will,

  Your request for a screenshot actuall lead me to the solution.  Not enough samples!  I took little data too slowly and only seeing part of the wave of fishing AC each iteration.  .. that became glaring when I tried to this graph.  So I increased my sampling of 100 to 5 Hz and things seem to have settled things down a bit.  Thank you for the good question!

• Generate a pulse train, NI 9402 modules in cDAQ-9174 chassis

  I have two modules NI 9402 in a cDAQ-9174 chassis.

  When I output a pulse train on a specific line of the PFI to a specific module, the pulse train is out on the right line of PFI, but on BOTH modules.

  I want that the pulse train out only one of the modules.

  for example, I select cDAQ2Mod1/ctr1 to output a pulse train on PFI3 of module one.  I hear the pulse module one PFI3 train, but I also get it on PFI3 of module 2.

  I am also a measurement of separation of two edges with a different counter, but I don't seem to have this problem.  (The measure only works when I have the signals connected to the module that I've specified.)

  I have a cDAQ-9174, I want to configure to use and DI, at the same time in two different tasks. It gives me the following-89137 error:

  I understand that this is because some courses is in use, but I don't know what that means. I tried to reference the peripheral roads in MAX, but I don't really understand. I have attached my code. You can see that I want to read and write at the same time, which I think should be a fairly simple thing to do. I found a note on the site NOR on the definition of the clocks with the Timekeeping property node. I tried to do, but I couldn't make it work anyway.

  Can someone tell me how I can use DI and PERFORM tasks on the cDAQ even at the same time?

  I figured out that I can not do readings of equipment timed at the same time, I do timed written with this module, so that was the problem.

  When I check the itineraries device in MAX tab' for chassis and c modules individually, I found many clocks with the Green blocks (direct Route). "Once a physical connection is determined, the NOR-DAQmx driver lets the user quickly and easily use this connection to synchronize operations".

  Now my question is how do you choose among these clocks available. What is the frequency of these clocks? The highest frequency the better? What is the difference between /Ctr0SampleClock, /Ctr0InternalOutput, /Ctr0Source, /Ctr0A?

  For example, why well/Dev1/I/SampleClock or Ctr0InternalOutput or of others, especially as a source for the .vi DAQmx Timing (sample clock)?

  I think you mix instructions from the manuals of different material. The link you posted refers to the synchronization of several separate devices, while your cDAQ with its modules really is like having one device almost. You will find more relevant information in your manual of cDAQ chassis. For multiple devices, you indeed have a "physical connection", but with the cDAQ is not necessary. You set up these connections in the software in any way, and this should get the routing sorting at the driver level.

  Try to identify which channel will be your a 'primary', the one driving all others and synchronization, the value then asked SampleClock of this string as the rest (DAQmx Trigger.vi) trigger ('secondary') channels, then start all 'secondary' jobs and finally start your "primary" task This will trigger all tasks at the same time. Take a look at the attached picture, which is another application that I worked on, but I think this will help.

• DASYLab w / support NOR-DAQmx NI 9227, NI 9229 &amp; cDAQ 9174

  I am trying to use DASYLab 11 w / NOR-DAQmx 8.5 to my configuration material of NI 9227, NOR 9229 & cDAQ-9174. After decommissioning of my PC Win7 for XP that takes in charge OR-DAQmx 8.5 (the OR-DAQmx last, supported by 11 DASYLab), I discovered that NEITHER-DAQmx 8.5 does not support the cDAQ 9174. Right now, looks like I'm watered except so use LABView. Is there any other way at this time to use this hardware configuration with DASYLab or any other application?

  DASYLab V11 supports Windows 7 when you install the Service Pack (see www.dasylab.com).

  Where are we going to say that it does support NOR-DAQmx 8.5? I installed the most recent NI.com last week, and it seems to work very well. I use only simulated devices so far, but DASYLab is data collection and display correctly.

• problem installing driver cDAQ 9174

  I am a new user of LabVIEW and just got our first shipement material today of 2 x cDaq 9174 with analog i/o.

  I tried to install the driver for several hours without success. At the beginning of the installation, I get an error message that says:

  "This installer needs to access 'My images' However this place XXX is not available." Make sure that this directory exists and is available, and rerun Setup.

  First of all, the folder my pictures pointed to a NAS drive where all of our photos of the company are located (which was the N drive) - so I show it to the location of the normal C drive but it is still giving me an error message and try to find the folder in drive instead of C N (and Yes I tried to reboot).

  Secondly, the location was available, as I opened through Explorer without any problem.

  Thirdly, why a driver would fail to install simply because it could not access the folder my pictures?

  Any help would be appreciated.

  It may be a registry key which is always pointing to the NAS drive. Try to use the following Microsoft Fix it tool, reboot, then install DAQmx.

  I'm sorry I didn't know not the 9215 was a simultaneous module.  Instead of the S series card, you should be good to go with a 9174 and 2 9215 modules. If you use the same DAQmx task to run on all 8 channels acquisition they share all the same timing engine and snack at the same time.

  I intend to synchronize two cDAQ-9174 chassis for an application where I need to acquire data of 8-Thermocouple, voltage 3, 1-Full bridge (strain gauge) and channel 2-meter at the same time. This enforcement action is based encoder (quadrature with 1024 ticks per round) and I need to acquire data very fast and synchronized in all channels!

  I bought the material and I'm going to set up 3-voltage channels in NOR-9221, Thermocouples-4-NOR-9211, 1 strain of NOR-9237 and 2-meter gauge in NOR-9401 first cDAQ-9174 chassis Modules. I will then put remaining Thermocouples-4 in the second cDAQ-9174 chassis.

  The question is whether it will work?

  If Yes! Then, kindly help me on how to have synchronized it data from these two cDAQ-9174 chassis with all such modules as mentioned above?

  I hope someone can help me with that and can guide me to do this task! I'm using Labview 2009 with NOR-DAQmx 2009

  A few comments after looking at your code:

  I don't understand what you're doing with cancel in the task of counter.

  You try to use the encoder as your sample clock?  You can do it for the module 9221 and NI 9211, but it will not work with the NI 9237 as I mentioned above.  You can move the NI 9237 in a separate task and from there, you have a few options depending on how you want to synchronize.

  How many times you expect to get your clock on cDAQ2Mod3/PFI0?

• Simultaneous release of digital waveform at different frequencies - cDAQ-9174 with two 9477 maps error-50103

  Hello

  I'm working on a project that requires two outputs digital signals at different frequencies. Frequency of the phase 1 is about 1 kHz and is modulated on and off to a pace that will change during the execution of the program. Wave 2 passes from 1 kHz to about 6 kHz while needing to be pretty accurate to the tenth of a Hertz.

  Initially, I tried to manage the simultaneous output of signals at different frequencies using a single task on a single 9477 daqmx in a cdaq-9174 chassis. As far as I know, the best way to get a specific frequency in a waveform output is to set the sampling frequency up to 2 times the frequency of the wave that is generated and generate a waveform that is given to each clock cycle. This works very well when it comes to a gesture, but I was unable to get the frequency of the modulated wave (wave 1) remains constant when the frequency of wave 2 modified or vice versa.

  I have a few other modules lying around (another 9477, 9403 and 9476) and I thought I would try another task running on a separate module. I find myself receive error-50103 message if I add these modules to my cdaq chassis and run one of the waveforms of a task set to run on the add-on. Is there a way to bypass this error? I guess it would cause by running two digital output on the cdaq-9174 tasks at the same time, but it seems to me that this wouldn't be a problem with an additional module.

  How can I have two outputs digital signals, running at the same time, maintaining their independent frequency frequency of the clock of the other sampling rate changes. In addition, because the wave 1 is enabled and disabled at a defined frequency, I use it to set the number of samples to write when you write a range of waveforms in the module (when generating these two waveforms on the same module).

  I have a follow up for you. You encounter the error because the cDAQ chassis has only a timing engine of. You will not be able to perform simultaneous tasks of the call by the hardware. • cDAQ-9174 WinXP hotfix usb

  I'll put up a new machine with a cDAQ-9174 running a 8.6.1 exe.  Everything seems fine, but I went to add a scale and noticed a strange message in MAX.  He said looking for "windowsxpusbhotfix" and to search the knowledge base for "5F81A72I."  Something to do with the USB data.

  I tried to search in each of these and came with a post from 2004, or almost, but the knowledge base article is different.  The computer is running XP service pack 3.

  Here is the link to the KB for reference.

  There is a bug in the Windows XP USB driver (which was actually discovered and reported by NEITHER).  Microsoft has a fix for what is available here, but NOR does not directly offer this patch for licensing reasons.  Unfortunately, Microsoft does not push this hotfix through Windows Update, so NEITHER decided to try to proactively inform customers of the possible problem.

  A note linking to the Microsoft KB added first to the DAQmx 9.0 readme, then the importance in the readme 9.1and more.  Because there is always concern (valid) that many people do not actually read the readme files, a notification has been added to MAX in DAQmx 9.3.  If your development computer is on an earlier version of DAQmx, or if you already have the patch installed, then you wouldn't see the warning.  Note that the warning itself by design disable all the features, it is simply intended to inform customers of the behavior.

  Regarding the consequences of not having the hotfix installed, the KB pretty much sums up it.  You might see crashes or incorrect data in the form of a swap chain.  The behavior itself is actually quite difficult to reproduce (I remember runs tests during the night several times, start and stop tasks with random intervals and still not see all systems), but nevertheless the integrity of the data is of course a huge concern OR if we want to make sure that customers are duly notified of the bug and stressed the appropriate solution.

• Reset hardware cDAQ 9174

  I test station with two cDAQ 9174. We work without problem. But the second after a time more long every day, using problem. The second is not recognized by the MAX of NOR. When I connect it to the USB port, nothing will happen. No new hardware found... No refreshing of the hardware in the Windows Device Manager list... Nothing. :-(cDAQ power led lights, but no led lights the LOAN.

  It seems to be that the cDAQ is broken. Is no way to reset the cDAQ 9174?

  $line0: Boolean 1 time = 10ms

  Line1: Boolean variable 1 time = 20ms

  row2: Boolean variable 1 time = 30ms

  line 3:20 pulses (period = 250us, duty ratio = 0.5) after a time = 40ms

  the value of line0:3 must be Boolean 0 after 45ms

  Can someone let me know what I need to work to solve this please?

  I have some experience in programming of microcontroller with C. I learned LABVIEW for about 1 month and followed a lot of demons in line and tutorials. I know that nodes DAQmx Data Acquisition screws and fundamental property.

  As I said at the beginning on the $line0, lin1and line2, they serve to control the relay in my circuit. 10ms could be controlled with the OS clock. Pulse of line3 series is used for IGBT gate signals, which is the critical moment. I want to use the clock machine to accurately control line 3 and synchronize at the same time the pulse with analog inputs from an another two NI9206 modules in the same cDAQ chassis.

  I just want to know more on the digital line demand signal relay output and a correlation between the line of analog input-synchronized finished pulse output. Waveform diagram is locked.

• OR unrecognized cDAQ-9174

  Hello, I'm not sure if it's good advice, but here goes.

  I have a USB OR cDAQ-9174, I try to use with LabVIEW 2009 and DAQmx 9.1. After you install LabVIEW 2009, I thought he had DAQmx and device drivers installed with it, so I plugged in the cDAQ. Then I realized my mistake and installed the disc that came with the cDAQ DAQmx.

  Unfourtunatly, the device is not recognized by SignalExpress or MAX. She appears in the Manager of Windows devices like "cDaq-9174" under the heading "National Instruments Device", but the monitor of devices OR never detected the device.

  I uninstalled then plugged DAQmx cDAQ without success, then uninstalled the driver from Device Manager and uninstalled DAQmx new and trendy cDAQ, same case. I'm now uninstall all software from National Instruments to try to solve this problem, if it doesn't work I have really no idea what to do.

  If someone could help, it would be great. I'm working on a HP desktop computer.

  If you get this message in time, hold off the coast on the Windows reinstall, there's another step I want you try if possible.  Follow the steps in this KB (completely delete the data folder in step 7): what is the process to remove MAX Database Corruption?

  I hope that this will be a less painful way to address the issue.
