Dual monitor second dark screen

I use a Setup dual monitor both monitors same accurate on my pc at the same time on the same exact settings and one of the screens is much darker that the other I tried switching on the cable with no result and have searched the Internet for the past hours searching for answers with no result, any help would be appreciated , I'm completely at a loss I'm 100% sure that it is not a monitor problem

Hello

The mother system/card manufacturer and support of the manufacturer of video cards and devices, online
documentation and drivers and forums would be a good source of help and information.

These should help:

Connect the multiple monitor to your PC
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/how-connect-multiple-monitors

Do more with multiple monitors
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/multiple-monitors

I hope this helps.

    original title: confusion bi-ecrans

At my place of work they have a 2nd monitor mounted to my computer so I now have 2 of them. I don't know I like this immediately. I don't see the advantage (still, in any case) because you cannot watch two of them at the same time anyway as you can with overlapping windows. I'm always looking for left right 1 monitor, then the other.

    My question:

I noticed that sometimes I click on a link in my browser on one of the monitors and it will open up a new page on the other monitor, so I have to swich my field of vision. I was expecting for the new page opens on the same screen as the link that pointed to it rather than the other monitor. Is there a setting that controls this?

I use Dual monitors all the time, I don't know how I managed without, but I guess it depends on what you use on the PC

Monitors can be placed in what position the monitor "means" provide, you can have one on the other with the right stands.

And no there are no settings to change that monitor a links don't open the. It's win7 pre available condition had been installed the complete graphics driver and may be available if you use some graphics drivers

  • HP Pavilion a6750f: problem dual monitor (Second monitor not detected in DVI input)

Hello everyone, I'm going to by a problem of not being able to setp toward the top of my second monitor.

I own a HP Pavilion a6750f with an ATI Radeon HD 3200 card on board running on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit operating system.  In the back, I have two VGA and DVI inputs, VGA works, but when I connect the other monitor which is connected to a DVI adapter on the back, Windows does not detect any.

I tried to go the DVI adapter to the other monitor and noticed that it refuses to work. I will note that my display drivers are all updated and I activated the option of customization to detect the second monitor, nothing shows up, it will not be the same acknolowdge that there are several screens.

I think it's weird that I don't see this problem being issued when I was searching for a resolution on google for hours now. If someone can help me here please I would be very happy.

Just to remind you try to connect a VGA (analog) monitor to a DVI - D (digital only) output on the computer. This is never going to work as analog and digital are two completely different incompatible signalling methods. With the help of an adapter DVI / VGA passive is the problem that these cards may work with DVI - I or DVI - A output... not DVI - D.

    Wikipedia - DVI;

"More digital, the DVI connector includes pins that carry an analog signal compatible with RGBHV signals in a VGA connector. This allows a VGA monitor be connected to a passive adapter and offers a universal solution for the DVI interface. The analog pins are the four that surround the apartment or cross the blade as shown on the right side of the diagrams below. »

    8 analog vertical sync

    C1 - analog Red
    C2 - analog Green
    C3 - blue analog
    C4 - analog horizontal sync
    C5 - analog ground

Note the absence of the pins on your computer and your so-called card C1, C2, C3 and C4. Without these pins is not just going to work. Still, there is no way to get an analog VGA monitor to work with your digital DVI - D only output using a so-called DVI - D to VGA. You may be able to buy an asset DVI - D to VGA Converter, but this will be expensive and cannot provide a poor video image quality.

As you said, the HP f1703 monitor supports only VGA. However, based on the specifications, your HP w2207h 22 inch LCD monitor supports the entry to a VGA and a HDMI input. HDMI and DVI - D share the same signage and using a HDMI-DVI cable or adapter HDMI-DVI and HDMI Cable will solve your problem. For two monitors running on your computer, please connect as follows:

Computer > HDMI-DVI cable or adapter HDMI-DVI and HDMI Cable > HP w2207h monitor

Computer > VGA cable > HP f1703 monitor

    Hi Kalad,

I think the same as you do sometimes, especially when I watch a movie and you want that it will display on the bigger screen and the simultaneouly have the laptop screen is off.

As you need to use the keyboard of the laptop and want the second poster only, which suggests to select the "Projector" only option in the pop-up menu by pressing the Fn + F4 key.

& to come back again having two screens or single screen press Fn Key & F4 on your keyboard and select "Extend" or 'Unplug the projector' options respectively.

  • Installation of the driver software window opens on the second monitor in a dual monitor extended installation of the monitor

The "Software Installation" window will open on the second monitor in a dual monitor extended installation of the monitor

I have a dual display setup. A 225WS 1680 x 1050 monitor LG is connected via a VGA cable and a VGA - DVI converter to a DVI port on a Radeon 6850 video card. The second screen is a Samsung HDTV set at 1920 x 1080 and connected via HDMI on the same video card. I have set up the screen LCD as main monitor and the Samsung HDTV as the extended display. HDTV is most of the time, but I use it at least once a day. This isn't a driver problem, because it happened also when I had an old Nvidia video card and it is fixed by a new installation of windows and setting up of screens from a square.

The installer works great almost all the time except when I try to use some programs or Windows functions (7). When I try to start the MozBackup application or I pop in a new usb device and click on the notification bubble, both these windows (MozBackup and the "Driver software Installation" window) open in the center of the HDTV as opposed to the LCD (which is defined as primary). The problem is that the views are ~ 3 meters out and HDTV is mostly off.

I sent a bug report to the developer of MozBackup because this part is perhaps a problem with its software or what old Windows functions and hooks it uses, but the window "Installing the driver software" (or who knows what other program Windows Basic) has exactly the same problem and is part of Windows.

What can I do about it? I DIDN'T put the displays in any mode "clone" to have office in mirror between them. Is - this fixable somehow? I guess that is not a problem with the video card drivers because I used two different video cards with either the manufacturer or windows update drivers and the problem is the same.

I'm talking about a window similar to this one

    http://jaunty-electronics.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/Freedom_FRDM-KL25Z_driver_install.PNG

    Try changing the backup.ini

    you find it in

    .. \Program files (x86)\MozBackup\backup.ini

Open the file backup.ini with editor

Check if you have the rights to save the changed files in this directory. You may need to change the Directory rights

Change the value of "1": monitor

    wyzodir =

; Monitor: the monitor number where MozBackup window will appear

    monitor =1

'2' or whatever the value of your primary monitor is:

    wyzodir =

; Monitor: the monitor number where MozBackup window will appear

    monitor =2

System main screen could be identified as '1 '. If you have changed the monitors, it can be used internally '2 '.

  • The main screen becomes secondary in a Setup dual monitor (DVI-HDMI)

Original title: WINDOWS PROGRAMMERS: problem with OS Windows7 not being not able change the numbers of identifiers when using multiple screens and HDMI

To be clear... This problem is with the Win7 OS - no video card GUI that allow to change number ID display on multiple monitors.

Problem with several screens and the use of HDMI cables substituent and #1 assuming that for its corresponding display view identifier.

    Not always ID desired.

But there is no way to change this.

    EXAMPLE:

Monitor is configured as primary display (ID #1) using a DVI cable

Then I connect my SONY Bravia or my LG HDTV displays using HDMI cables, the new screen automatically takes over as the display identifier #1 and the monitor becomes identifier #2.

-This introduces to the identifiers is not something I want, need or want to deal with every time I use several displays. And it creates problems.

There is NO way to correct or modify the identifiers.

Please provide a FIX as soon as possible if you have an ounce of concern for the customer service.

The solution can be as simple as:

GO to THE control panel - appearance and customization - display - change display settings:

Right CLICK... on one of the displays in the window to the left of "Detect" / "identify."

Then the OPTION 'Change display login' with a list of relevant identifier numbers according to the number of multiple connected screens.

    Click 'apply '.

    CLICK ON 'OK '.

and Voila! View identifiers are defined.

    Hi Jean-Pierre.

Thank you for all the information related to the issue.

This problem may occur if the display of the configuration settings dual monitor retain the configuration. Possible reasons could be installed on the computer outdated display driver.

    1. What is the brand and model of the computer or the graphics card?
    2. Are you using double display card? Sometimes changing the display settings for the display cards might solve the problem.

First of all, if you have a display of the map or media panel installed on the computer, go to the control panel and change the setting under multiple display change. Assign the identity number according to the status monitor, then check if it retains the configuration when you restart the computer.

Additionally, make sure that you have installed the latest version of the display driver for Windows 7 from the website of the manufacturer of the computer. Sometimes, if the driver is not being updated, the setting may not keep the entire installation. See the link to know how to update the driver on Windows 7:

You want to hope that it is not a compatibility problem, because that could leave you a GROUND for a solution. Assuming that everyone even working on a solution. I had a few problems after the upgrade of Vista that never existed when running the Windows 7 RC on the same computer. The cause of a problem is not necessarily in a straight line between Win7 and the problem device. The only things I can think of now are the driver/software standard, tedious, technical troubleshooting. Jon,
Download ATI Catalyst Control Center, which includes the updated drivers for your card, of the following:
    http://game.AMD.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx?p=Vista64/common-Vista64

After installing the software and restarted, you can access their software by clicking on start-> all programs-> Catalyst Control Center, click on CCC
Then adjust your settings of dual monitor since the display under chart type Manager, here you can set the desktop, the refresh rate resolution and you want 1 of a possible 5 modes (press F1 to get help with their applicaton) display. Make sure that save you after having selected the desired configuration. Hello

I am currently under a dual screen setup with my monitor and a separate screen. It seems to work fine for a while and then all of a sudden my computer will start to act up, and then it will go to the blue screen of death. A small window pop up at the bottom left says there is a problem with my video card driver, but I have updated their and still get the same problem.

  • Mode Dual monitor: can I extend the main display from right to left?

I have a Setup dual monitor with

Main screen with desktop computer: Dell S42092

    Secondary display: Inspiron notebook.

Is there a way to extend from left to right?  I wish I had my secondary screen (laptop) positioned on my left, not the right, which seems to be the only way that the configuration of the resolution of the screen allows you to do.  I currently configured as

    Display (2) Dell s24092

Several screens: extend these screens (this allows me to drag from left to right, which is not intuitive if the laptop is on the right.

If I can't do it with this configuration, this work with another monitor, type?

    Trudy-o

My OS is Windows 7, but I've been to the screen "Changes the appearance of your poster" you describe.

It identifies the laptop as monitor 1 and the S24092 Dell Monitor 2. It allows me to do 1 or 2, my main screen, but it does allow me to pass the identity of 1 and 2.   Therefore, any screen is my main screen, management of drag forces me out of the side right of the main screen (the great Dell) before entering the screen of the computer, which I turned to the left.  I am left handed and I smile with my left hand, and I'd rather have my secondary monitor to my left.  Is it makes sense?

The identity is to tell you, visually, that is, whose number has no significance. The computer screen will always be 1 and the outside will be always high because you can not disconnect and because it will be the first computer find at boot.

To put secondary (2) on the other side, press the image of monitors, monitor 2 drag it to the other side of the #1 and press apply then / adjust displays are flashing and if he succeeds, it will appear a window with a 15 seconds timer to reset the display if no one pressed the Yes button.

Basically, you want to match the image with your configuration.

I'm left-handed too, but use the mouse with your right hand. and I have a laptop with Vista and an external monitor (primary) to the left of the laptop.

  • Dual monitor problems

I have been using two monitors (1 monitor my primary monitor, 2 monitor showing an extension of monitor 1) for several years now. All of a sudden, monitor 2 links is no longer. I swapped the connections from the cables to the back of my Tower. When I started my computer, startup began the 2 monitor, but as soon as Windows is fully booted, 1 monitor again became the primary monitor and 2 the screen went black. I guess this isn't a hardware problem.

After some tinkering on the video card Control Panel, I could get 2 monitor to display, but it is no longer made reference the name of the 2 monitor (Asus) as a monitor. It refers to the second screen as "Digital Display" and considers it a generic Non - PnP monitor. I don't understand how it happened, why it happened or how to get my second screen displays correctly again. Currently, monitor 2 a haywire resolution, and I can't improve it (my own, its because he does not recognize the Asus monitor properly and does not know the capabilities of resolution of it).

I hope someone can understand my problem and is able to help, because I simply can't understand it.

  • Dual monitor in first Pro CC

Just updated yesterday and thousands of others.  Had no problems whatsoever.  Opened for the first time this morning and support dual monitor disappeared.  I go into Preferences-> playback and the box is always checked yesterday.  I unchecked, saved, restarted the computer, restarted, it re-enabled and the second monitor displays always only my desktop.  Pulls up to After Effects and support dual monitor still works fine.  My colleague has not had the same problem.  I'm on an iMac 2012 with 20 GB of Ram, using a bolt of lightning DVI adapter for the second monitor.  Still, second works fine for everything but the first monitor and it worked yesterday.  Any ideas?

Thanks for the quick response.  I came back to the post that we had solved when I saw your post.  In my case, the issue was that first was 'pending' just a pixel or two on my second monitor that prevented to use it as a second screen.  Not sure how that is spent, but thought I'd share in case someone else has the same problem.  I'll keep your thing in mind for the future too.

    Thank you.

If you compile Robohelp or perform any function at all that displays a dialog box, Robohelp, 'remembers' that monitor this dialog box is displayed to and it displays on the same screen next time, UNLESS you drag the dialog to the other monitor. It does not matter if you go to one "monitor 1" setting.

Example: You compile your project and the dialog box publish poster on your secondary monitor. If you drag this to your main monitor dialog box, the dialog box will display on your screen main next time you compile. If you leave the dialog box where it is, it will display on your secondary display next time.

Then, to work my dialogues were all showing on my secondary monitor. I unplugged my laptop and it took home, and whenever I have compiled, I could not see the dialog box. I had this "ding" you get when a dialog is open, so I could not close Robohelp or anything. When I went to the Task Manager, the application is active. The only way I could close out of it was to end the program via the Task Manager.

I learned that Robohelp was stubbornly poster on a non-existent second monitor dialog box. My settings at home were for "monitor 1" and he ALWAYS thought that I had two and hung at my request. I could go through the process by pressing enter, but I didn't know what I was getting into because I didn't see it.

The fix was simple. When I returned to the office, I have compiled a project and the dialog box displayed on the secondary monitor. I dragged to the main screen and in the process of publication. Then I compiled again and verified that Robohelp dialogues were now or by default in the main screen. I had nothing to do, and it worked fine even when I compiled on my laptop.

I wanted to just pass this along to anyone with a double screen and Robohelp 7. (I have NO experience with Robohelp 5).

  • Dual monitor problems / external

I recently bought a netbook NB200/007 and want to use two monitors (mainly for display of pictures etc on larger screens)

It came preloaded with Windows 7 starter, after having found that the Starter edition did not support dual monitor that I've upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium, but I'm still not yet to make it work.

When the external monitor is connected, the netbook picks it up and sets up two monitors, but the external screen does not light (it remains in standby mode) I tried several different resolutions and also tried to use the external monitor as a single screen by selecting the option to have it as my main screen.

If anyone has a suggestion of how I could get it to work, I would greatly appreciate.

    Kind regards.

    Hi puma325,
    install the 'value added package.
This will add some features like "Fn + F5" for switching the display...
