DV7 display failure

My computer locked when the battery is low.  It put off, rebooted and got a black screen.  I could tell the computer started, but could not do anything to display on the screen.  I tried the fix static - take out the battery, press power button, etc.-, but nothing has worked.  Trying to hook up an external monitor and found the computer worked well.  Once I discovered that it was just the laptop screen, I called support thought that my warranty was expired after 5 days.  Support was not helpful because I was past my warranty and I didn't pay for the customer service.  So, I sent the CEO and actually received a call from the "Executive customer service."  They gave me a case manager, who seemed very useful.  It turns out that it was passed only 2 days and said that it was virtually a lock that they would cover it under warranty and I had received a call back within the hour.  After that I went with a couple of calls over the next two weeks, I was told that my application was rejected without any other explanation.

I am very disappointed, especially since I used my laptop only a few hours each week to check your e-mail or surf the internet.  I use dv4 my fiancé right now, and I am waiting for this same problem infecting that computer.  I hold hope that HP will recognize the number of us frustrated with this same problem and we cover through a program of extended warranty or recall.  Until then, I will continue to vocalize my displeasure with HP products and services.  If you hear anything that could help, let me know.  Thank you.

After 6 months of not using my laptop, I found a post through a google search that has worked for me.  My screen was not working, but the computer was working fine using an external hard drive.  I tried 2 things easy, and I don't know who fixed, so try this one first: while turning the laptop on and in the starter set, squeeze the computer to ensure good connections of the card player or hard graphics (I think that is what worked for me).  The second thing I did open the panels to expose the hard drive and the graphics card and removed a small, round lithium battery and succeeded him.

    What is graphic switchable?

    Plug here.

I should also mention that I tried to boot from my recovery CD as well as the recovery partition, but all that happens is that I get the same blue background. I think it's the Windows Installer screen but there is no icons or anything.

    Thanks for the reply!

Switchable graphics is a portable dual graphics solution.  A low-power integrated graphics chip is used on battery. A superior graphical power module is used when connected to the power adapter.

Did you do a test of memory via the BIOS?

The error (303) fast is a prediction of disk failure hard iminent. Which can be solved by replacing the hard drive.

It is also why the recovery disks do not work. Once you have installed a new drive, and the operating system installed and working I can provide a link to a Sofpaq that has the reputation of being able to restore the partition recovery and F11.

    Hello

Hmm if he s really a graphics card problem then that would mean that a whole motherboard must be replaced.
The point is that the graphics chips more be removable, but the chips are special modules that can be purchased separately

In any case, you should get in touch with a local ASP (partner) in order to obtain more details, perhaps that the chip graphic is ok and other malfunctions of the party that knows the technician could run tests and could tell exactly which part is dead

  • Display failure DVI to HDMI

Recently, I bought a DVI to HDMI connector for use of my graphics card than Geforce 550 TI in my twenty six inch brand TV Toshiba (not aware of the name of the template). I also met dvi to dvi my monitor, which works very well. For a while, I was able to use both at the same time or separately. Quite recently, however, during the execution of the two, I accidentally put my TV as my main instead of my sixteen inches HP w1907 screen, causing some kind of accident. Now whenever I plug the second TV, both black and my audio temporarily stops then continues. It still seems to take at least my microphone input, judging by the fact that Skype call, in that I was still worked and still make sound, but two monitors just turn completely black and will not display anything. Hello

When your computer does not display anything on the screen, you have a problem no display or blank display. This may be caused by one of the following reasons:

    · Monitor or system has no power

    · The monitor is defective

    · Connecting the cable loose VGA(Video Graphics Adalptor) /DVI(Digital Visual Interface)

    · Video card problem

    · Problem connector AGP (Accelerated Graphics Port) /PCI (Peripheral Component Interconnect) EI / motherboard

  • BSOD BCCode 116 - generated after installing updated drivers for ATI Mobility Radeon HD display drivers for HP Probook 4520 s 5470

I continue to work through issues with my HP Probook 4520 that is now almost 4 years with the same problem of a frozen screen.

Today, I decided to work in seeing if there was new ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 available display drivers.

I have the version of 15/03/2011 of the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470.  With that came the AMD Catalyst install Manager Version 3.00.0868

    .

During his visit the HP site I saw that they had a newer version available on the graphics card available with the date of April 30, 2011 and the download file has been identified as sp52818.exe for the Version of the graphics driver to download 8.743.2-- 110315 5A - 115833C.

In light of the penalty, that I got with my graphic display driver 15/03/2011, I decided to uninstall the drivers of my 15/03/2011 and download the drivers of 30/05/2011.

Doing this has my computer I notified that I already have the sp52818.exe file and so I was a little confused, but I allowed him to install over my existing file.

To install the file sp52818.exe successfully, I went to work.  Then after some time (within an hour), I got a message generated by computer at the bottom right of my screen saying a newer version of my graphics card was available at www.amd.com .

(first thought was - why HP had it?)

In any case... I decided to click on the suggestion box, visit www.amd.com and see what they had.  I was directed to install a driver to automatically detect the utility, and during the installation, the utility's suggestion came back that my computer can access a new graphic display driver.  I thought it was nice and so I then proceeded to of course download the .exe file for my HP probook 4520 s.  The proposed file was qualified: 13-12_mobility_win7_win8_64_dcl_ccc_whql_exe (graphic display for the ATI Radeon HD 5470 by suggestion of AMD driver.)

Everything goes well.  It starts to download the Catalyst install Manager Version 08.00.0915, then the ATI display drivers with > .NET Framework 4.5 (I'm just observing things that are facts).  Several times the black screen comes on, but that is to be expected.  I wait patiently, and finally I see the green bar of progress.  Just as the green bars come in the end, the screen goes black again for about 1 to 2 minutes.  Then suddenly the dreaded BSOD Blue Screen of Death comes with an error message saying that something has gone wrong and closing of windows, and he mentions something about Windows display drivers.  I'm not panicking yet, but is offered the possibility of recovering and I let the computer pick up normally, and I return to the screen of welcome with happiness and connect to.

From the entrance, the first thing I see is a Windows Error Message, I opened and saved and here provide for our education and research.

I'm not able to open the .dmp file to display as the file associations cannot establish a connection, and I am unable to find the AppData file under users.  Windows 7, it is extremely difficult find the files suggested by error messages.

I would like to know why the BSOD appeared, then please explain the error message that came as I was trying to install a driver recommended for my computer using download driver acceptable practices, causing me concern and frustration, as well as the 4 years of intermittent to faithfully display failure.  I'm not sending the machine backwards.  There must be a solution.

(Rabbit Trail - the suggestion to display the privacy statement is also an attempt to distract people to get a real fix and do believe that Windows 'help' you who isn't.)

The laptop is running and I can see things on the screen.  It seems OK, but I'm going to face other issues?

You are right that the accident may have been caused by the newly installed ATI driver. I checked on the HP Site and there is a version of the same display offered with the same output driver date on the ATI site, so the difference may be that the version of HP's specific system, while the ATI Version is just generic, so my suggestion would be to uninstall the ATI Version and replace it with the HP driver.

  • Captivate 7: entry boxes not showing captions failure when the bad input.

Hello.  I'm under Captivate 7.0.1.237 on a PC with IE 9 as my default browser.

Something has changed in the text entry areas (TEBs) and the way that they validate.  It was think I would enter several options validation of the user and, if the user didn't enter one of the correct entries in the BER my failure message would come by telling them what to enter.

This is not the case, instead, when I have to go to the next slide BER, the project advances to the next slide if they have input a correct answer or not.  I can type any kind of junk in BER and I get no legend of failure.

At this point, I change my TEBs for the following parameters have experimented and added a box to click with the shortcut tab (because that's how the application that I am a teacher moves a field to) the value, but the problem still occurred. Earlier in the project, I had shortcuts to my TEBs defined in the tab, but that's when I noticed the problem:

    missing failure caption.pngcorrect possible answers.png

    teb failure caption timing.pngteb settings.png

I only put my BER close to the top of my calendar because I had problems with the click boxes do not display failure messages when they were farther down in the timeline panel.  They are now on top.

    Thank you!

  • Default configuration restoration changes Windows updates do not turn off the computer

Step 1 of the 'solution' to this error reads:

Drag from the upper right of the screen (or if you use a mouse, move the mouse to the upper right of the screen) and then tap or click settings.

It is impossible to do this step 1 because my computer never stops display failure message to offer a mouse or interactivity, whether... it is in an infinite loop of failure with no way to stop.  Same way as fail-safe after power reset does not work.  There is nothing I can do at all.

You will then need to repair your computer using a recovery disc or installation media.

Boot from the media(Instructions are here)

and then select repair your computer in the first screen that says install now:

    Then follow option 7:

Then troubleshoot > open command prompt, and then type the following:

  • Captivate 8 (8.0.1.242) hotfix for 8.0.3 - it will fix "click the box" comments/fail - access to legends

    Greetings,

I seem to have a strange problem with Captivate (8.0.1.242) 8. I'm not able to attribute a "Legends of failure" at a click box, only of the forms.

Instead of having subtitles available, that I have only "basic" forms available, which is ok (click correct or wrong click feedback from users) for most of your comments.

    Click Box-> properties-> display-> failure (selected)

When I select the 'fail' form that appears, I am unable to change this to a "form" of a "legend." I want to be able to use the captions so that I can 'point' to the areas of the screen, rather than just have a message appears.

If this is corrected in the Captivate 8 patch that updates Captivate to build 8.0.3? I think remember that you could do this in earlier versions of Captivate.

    Thank you

  • Recovery disk failure after replacing hard drive of a laptop computer DV7 series

I have a HP Pavilion dv7-4270us with Windows 7 64 bit and recently received a message on start-up indicating that the intelligent of my hard drive failed. I bought a hybrid Momentus XT drive. I bought the recovery discs, since I neglected to follow my own advice and did not have a game. Replaced the hard drive, and begun the process of recovery, after the disc of the Application, the system was declared finished, clicks the button, the system shuts down. Activated power, recovery took over for a few minutes, declaring that he was copying files, a few minutes later, he said it was over asking me to click done. After that I did it, the system has rebooted hung on the screen of the HP logo with the statement in the lower left corner indicating "press ESC for the Start Menu. My only recourse was to power down the machine. When I restart the computer, I get the message 'Bootmgr' missing

I have already paid through the forums and tried to download the Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit DVD of digital life. As it starts installing, it indicates that a driver is missing, I poured by drivers for this computer and see nothing for SATA, and none of the others would be required to start. I succeeded in my Windows 7 Professional on the loading system, but since I don't have an extra code to hang out professional, it's not helping right now.

I also tried to partition the new disk manually using a device that allows me to see the drive using a USB port and my office, but he's not right. The good news is that the old drive still works to a point. I can read it via USB, and I can back up the drive, with the exception of the recovery partition. But when I put the new disk and set up similar scores for the original drive, it still does not start.

I have tried many other things all pronounce the failure, I'm not used to failure when it comes to computers, so be gentle.

    Hello:

The missing pilot is due either to a bad burn or use another brand of DVD. You must burn the ISO at the slowest speed possible file that you can.

In addition, check the size of the ISO file that you downloaded. Sometimes you do not get the full 3. XX GB even if the download says completed.

If you have 4 GB or more large USB flash drive, you can install W7 as it.

    Just follow these instructions...

Download the MS of W7 USB installation tool and read the instructions on the page to use.

You may also make this mod as I did if the flash tool-error.

Download the bootsect file form http://www.everettsporting.com/bootsect.zip

You will need to go into Control Panel, select display large icons, go to the icon of folder options, view tab, and select the hidden files and folders option.

Once downloaded, copy the BootSect.exe file in the same folder that contains the file of Windows7-USB-DVD-Download - Tool.exe installed. This file in Windows 7's default installation directory is C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Apps\Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool\

Run the application from the Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool as described on the Microsoft Store website. The end result will give you a boot USB flash drive that contains everything you need to install the 64 bit version of Windows 7.

  • HP DV7-12xx - display driver stopped responding

    Model: HP DV7-1232nr

System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

This laptop was having overheating problems when I got it. I have attached a platform of double USB fan led to her and which has helped considerably. I keep a temperature monitor runs in the background to alert me when time pass through more than 90 C.  In general, with navigation average and no video, I can stay between 70 ° c - 80 c.

I had done a few things administrative for the laptop, including a full defragmentation and update to the latest version of the BIOS (F49) because I upgraded the OS from Vista to Windows 7 (expected an improvement).

Everything was going well for several days until that I installed the latest ATI Catalyst Control Center.  Then that's when things started badly, but it may be a coincidence.  I noticed that when I started the laptop and it runs pretty cool, I would get these UI freezes, then "display driver stopped responding but has recovered" type of messages.  They would like to happen every 60 seconds or more.  HOWEVER, the laptop once warmed up, they would stop.  This has become particularly sensitive when I first start the laptop in the morning.

I thought it's maybe some kind of problem with the ATI CCC, so I tried to uninstall it but then ran into all sorts of errors - he refused to be removed from my system.  I had to manually get it (edit, painfully long registry).  In any case, the driver earlier that I could come back was the "current" available on HP... and installation that it resulted in the same matter; This display driver problem when the laptop runs cool.

It is ironic. Problems occur usually when a computer overheats, not when it's cold!

So... is it software or hardware?

I have a Linux (Ubuntu) partition, which worked perfectly well.  I booted up into that and... low and behold, I would periodically go into lock up, especially when the laptop is cold.  But this was not always the case.  When I first got the laptop and reformatted, it was fine, any time.

I'm still not sure if it's hardware or software.  My thought is... was there any question recorded with BIOS F49?  I heard that some underlying problems can trigger problem display driver, which means that there is really nothing to do with video drivers.

I've also run a full CHKDSK and a Piriform Defraggler disk check and it extracted a - OK... even though the hard drive suffered some sectors failed previously that were much more early on avoided with a complete reformat.

    QUESTIONS RELATING TO THE:

    * If it is a software problem, what are the recommendations?

    * If it is a possible hardware problem, is it possible to prevent the problem or am that I confronted to a replacement of the motherboard or just wait that the laptop "heated" enough before using it?

    CHANGE!

Well... I thought that the laptop was fine when it is hot, but this display driver doesn't answer more question arises again while I was typing this message (Mobile CPU at 66).  But it happens now, after running for about 30 minutes of hot.  Then... material can get which is flaky? I thought that it's usually an all or nothing with the material (works or does not work), and that the software drivers, commissioning of all sorts of scenarios of data different throughout the usage would be more suspect for intermittent failure.  Is there a video driver DEFAULT Microsoft I could replace to exclude drivers ATI?

Thanks for any help you guys can provide.

"If you keep an open mind, life will give you more opportunities."

It's certainly plausible. I have not heard of questions with a mosfet specifically, but this issue certainly seems to be motherboard related. There are "companies" out there that repair card mother offer, but it may be more cost-effective to buy a new motherboard.

You can also try to use a Map of Test Post if you have one or can borrow one. I don't like to think about buying something, unless I know it will solve the problem, but if the computers are a hobby for you, Test Post cards are a very handy to have around. If you decide to get one, look at the comments and make sure that he has the right connections to be used with your computer.
