DVD/CDROM (CODE 39)

I recently installed windows 7, my dvd/cd drive was working fine and I was able to burn a cd/DVD delivery thereof. Now it does not read the cd or dvd and in Device Manager it comes up with code 39, my model number is a6440a.

Thank you

PS - windows update does not pick up anything, and I can't restore the drivers in Device Manager.

The fact that the light on the drive flashes indicates that she is always defined in the BIOS.

Have you checked in the Device Manager to see if the disc is displayed? If so, you can click on the entry for him and select "Troubleshooting" to run tests on the disc.

  • Does anyone know how to unlock region on a CD-ROM DVD player codes?

Does anyone know how to unlock region on a CD-ROM DVD player codes?  I have this stupid Windows 8 and so far I only have PowerDVD. But I also have windows media player.  I am trying to get Windows Media Player to access the DVD that I used for Windows 7, but whenever I stick one in this computer stupid, by default it starts to Power DVD.

According to the power dvd faq: "the limit is in accordance with the requirements specified by the major movie studios. PowerDVD allows you to change the codes of the region up to 5 times (also depending on your DVD player) and then automatically record fifth region code setting. Subsequently, you can only play DVD titles in the fifth code region or non - CSS all regions DVD titles. Area code will remain locked even if you reinstall PowerDVD. »

Is there by chance a legal way around this? I wish I could watch my DVDs on my laptop when I want without locking on my other. I don't do anything illegal as piracy of DVDs, I just want to be able to watch them. Could someone please? Thanks in advance.

Use another program like VLC player or Potplayer.

It's by design, not much you can do about it. He was there for Vista/XP

Otherwise, you will have to Flash a hack of firmware for this DVD region

How could I solve this problem?

    Hello

Description of errors related to the 10 Code that generates the Device Manager in Windows on computers
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/943104/

Please make all below even if you have done some before as it is often the set of operations which solves the problem.

    Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
This will refresh the default driver stack.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a loose cable or
slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

  • Qosmio G20: DVD region Code?

    Hello

I am about to purchase a Qosmio G20 wasn't what I just learned today that they won't be available mid-2005 in Belgium.

However, in preparation since then, I have a few questions:

Because the Qosmio is a DVD playback mode without having to start Windows, this means that the region will be probably set somewhere in the Bios for a given region.

Travel laptop users and my partner is American, so we have DVD region 1 and 2.

Are there any evolution of the WinDVD software when running on Qosmio the failing lock a region code after X play. I've never understood that laptops (mobile systems) have the same restrictions as the reception of readers of DVD/entertainment (whow by the way no one knows!)

So, how can we play the two regions on the Qosmio G20 or anything that will be available for the Belgium.

    Thank you

The bounding can be changed 5 times.

After the last selected region Code is saved in the DVD player.

But also, there are a lot of programs (Freeware) that help make your life easier and work around this Limitation.

The only thing that you can do this through precaution is to google all over the place.

My driver is corrupted for my CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive.

I am running win 7 32 bit and the DVD drive is the same one that came installed when I bought the laptop.

This is the message I get "Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device.
The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) »

    CAN ANYONE HELP?

    Hello

I m a bit confused how you managed to download the CD/DVD driver for the STRANGE internal (optical disc).
The point is that all Windows operating systems contain own driver Microsoft ODD that controls the CD/DVD drive.
That is why it s not necessary to load/install the drivers for the CD/DVD drive.

    I think it s a registry problem.
You should first go to Device Manager and should remove the CD/DVD of the system drive.

Next step is cleaning the registry.
Start regedit and delete the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters completely from the following registry key values:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

After this restart of the unit
    Should work

    Welcome & good luck

PS; It is a model of cell phone US and all the drivers are located on the Toshiba U.S. page.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD

    do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
