    Hello. I have the HP pavilion 15-e020TU laptop. My DVD player has worked with windows 7 and windows 8. After the upgrade to windows 8.1, the DVD player does not work. The Windows Device Manager find the DVD player, but represents a brand yellow error. I chose "update driver software" and then "automatically search for updates of driver software". My DVD player does not work. I insert a disc, you can hear the drive works for some time, but then nothing happens. I checked the Device Manager' - under readers of CD-ROM/DVD-ROM it shows: MAST * A DVD-RAM UJ862AS, but there is a black exclamation point in a yellow circle next to it. I opened the dialog box 'Properties' and under the status of the device, he wrote:

  • DVD player not working not not Satellite Pro A100 - Code 37 error

    Hello

    Someone help on this?

    I have an A-100 and the DVD player has stopped working in XP. I checked the Device Manager and see XP disc but returns this error "Windows cannot initialize the device of this hardware driver. (Code 37) »

    I also noticed that ASAPI.sys is not running in the Task Manager.

    I'm guessing this has something to do with the problem.

    I tried to reinstall the device drivers, but this made no difference. Any suggestions?

    Hello

    Error code 37 means the driver returned failure from its DriverEntry routine.
    You can try to delete the driver from Device Manager and rebooted the new OS should recognize the drive device and initialize the driver again.

    If this is not enough, try this procedure:
    Run REGEDIT and open the following folders:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
    -> SYSTEM
    -> CurrentControlSet
    -> Control
    -> Class
    {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

    After you click {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} you should see two settings on the right side:
    "Upperfilters".
    'Lowerfilters '.

    Click on each of them, press DELETE, and then click YES.

    Then restart the laptop and see if it was useful.

  • DVD player not working not not on Sat 1800-614

    Hello

    I bought a Satellite 1800 614 3 years ago, provided with a DVD player. At this time there is no problem to read the DVD. I did not use it for a while and when I tried to use it I discovered that it does not read new DVD, I can see the movie but the two images and audios are dispersed and disrupted last year. It only works with the old DVD (2001-2002) and DVX and so on...

    I was told that it is because they changed the format of DVD or something like that. Can you help me to fix it? Is it possible to update the BIOS any help? Maybe the firmware? You know the one that I need and where I can find it? I tried to update the drivers for DVD but it seems that he does not accept the change. Do you know how to update the drivers too?

  • Pavilion dv6-6c53cl: dvd player not working not not after restoring - all missing drivers, does not appear in Device Manager

    Recently, I have restored my computer dvd6-6c63cl of flag State 'out of the box.  The dvd drive no longer works.  When you put a CD, you can hear him swirling but the screen does not open.  In addition, in the Device Manager section, dvd is not listed.  I think that I need the drivers, but I did have luck to find them on hp.com (just a recovery disc, you can order).

    I tried some of the solutions on this forum for other computers, but is it didn't work (FixIt) or things in the registry (filters) were not there and one was something that was 32-bit and since it's 64-bit, I was afraid to try it.  Clearly, I don't know enough about computers.

    In which case it is important, I recently had my fan replaced and do not know if the dvd player worked after that.  Obviously not used often.

    You can provide any help would be greatly appreciated.  The computer is 3 years old so I don't want to add 'guaranteed' type plans, but at the same time, I don't want to replace the computer for something so little.  The restoration of fixed the problems I had (internets public wouldn't connect and updates did not exist).  Thank you!

    You may consider replacing the internal DVD player or using an external DVD burner.

The next day I went to play again and when I clicked on the icon of the DVD player has started and the disc was being read. Can someone tell me why he was working one minute then the next saying that my drive does not exist please? I tried to reinstall and everything, but the same message appears again and again. It will be interesting to know what model of laptop you have.

    By the way: try to disable the DLA to packet writing software. Maybe it helps.
    Modification of a DLA installation procedure is as follows:
    1. open Windows Explorer
    2. right click on the CD/DVD drive icon and choose Properties
    3 click the DLA tab
    4. to disable DLA option erase DLA activate on your box of readers

    Please let me know if it works.

  • I need a update for my HP DVD player & not rely on Microsoft

    I have a problem with HP DVD & I tend to disagree if is saying that my DVD drive (HP DVD RW AD - 7586H) must be replaced. My dvd player works when he wants (has a clean spirit). The last update for my DVD drive is 21/06/2006 (7 years and enjoyed passing updated driver). Ive uninstalled my DVD drive & reinstalled after startup & has nothing there is never, ever a update for my via DriverBooster, DriverScanner or my in-kind Assistant from HP DVD drive & I used a certain programs to update my driver (Driverbooster, DriverScanner etc.). NEVER. If HP can give me a BIOS update, why not send me a DVD Player update through me HP Support Assistant HP?  Well, I think this is a time of combat that HP should create an update to solve all the problems of DVD rather than depend on Microsoft to fix it. If my DVD drive was well Windows I would use the microsoft Fixits, but since it is a HP DVD drive, I think HP should solve the problem, not Microsoft.

    What you see in the Device Manager is the driver control for the dvd player, what are you really need to look at is the version of the firmware on your dvd player & see if a newer firmware is available.

    Usually many even intermittent faults are more material than firmware, readers are very cheap but & can access a job of 2 minutes to replace if necessary more you a better quality disc & spec as you wish.

    I think KH21 is new firmware for this dvd player.

  • Vista Media Center DVD Player not to return to previous position

    Hello and thanks.

    I have Vista Ultimate and I dive into the wonder that is Vista Media Center. It has a great feature! However, one of the points I noticed that lack is the DVD player does not playback from the previous position. As far as I know, there is no option in the GUI. In a spirit of clarity, let me give body to what I mean:

    If I play a DVD movie and stop it in half way through and close Vista Media Center, then restarts VMC and DVD playback, the DVD starts from the beginning and not the position that I stopped. It is not only boring, it is a feature of all the other DVD players I have used offers.

    So, my question is this: How can I activate previous position reading recovery in VMC?

    Hi AShimon,

    Thank you for visiting Windows Vista Microsoft answers forum.

    There is no option in Windows Vista Media Center to resume playback where you left off, after the closure of the Media Center.

    However, I will propose you to pause the video you play and then lock the computer if you do not use or else you can also continue to work on the computer after pausing the video. Whenever you want to watch the video from where you paused just click on the 'play' button.

    Please let us know if it helps.

    Thank you and best regards,
    David

  • DVD player not recognized; error code 10

    Our Museum has a Dell Optiplex 745 on which the XP operating system has been replaced by Windows 7 Professional.  The DVD drive is not recognized, and the error code 10 stipulates that the driver could not be loaded.  I tried upgrading the driver online, but I was told that the driver installed is the right one for this player.  If I remove the drive with the machine on, uninstall the driver, stop and then restart and then restarting to reinsert the DVD, the computer recognizes the drive and install it and it works.  When you restart the computer the next morning, the car disappeared again.  Would appreciate any help I can get!

    Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
    ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
    contacts data with a pencil eraser.

    Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
    manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

    Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
    Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

    Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
    the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

    Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and the
    correct registry entries for your car.

    Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive
    as there will be other subkeys in these keys. Do not forget to ask specific keys involved as well as
    the parameters.

  • DVD player not recognized after the upgrade to windows 8

    I write this to document some odd behavior, that I lived after the upgrade to Windows 8 in the hope that it might save some grief for others.  Of course, if someone could explain why this problem occurs, I'd be very interested/grateful for an answer.

    I recently updated my computer from Vista Ultimate to Windows 8.  I did a clean install of Windows 8, because there is nothing special about the machine I wanted to preserve.  In all cases, the upgrade went without a hitch and I was soon back up with Windows 8 as my OS (I really like, btw).

    The only oddity I noticed after the upgrade is that my DVD drive was not recognized by the operating system.  Remember, this is the same DVD player that was used to install the OS, so I found it rather peculiar.  After a bit of lost time, try software solutions theoretical I started to play with the equipment.

    My motherboard is an ASUS M3A78-EM.  My hard drive is attached to the SATA1 port and my DVD player is plugged into the SATA2 port.  I removed the DVD drive from SATA2, plugged into SATA3, restart Windows 8 (from HDD on SATA1) and Windows 8 now recognizes the drive!

    I thought it was really weird, so I stop, put the DVD on SATA2 drive, rebooted, and the drive was no longer available in Windows 8.

    OK, so I thought that maybe the SATA2 channel was bad (even if he had worked at the Windows 8 DVD installation, just an hour or two before), so I put my HDD on SATA2 and the DVD drive on SATA1.  After doing this, Windows 8 start very well (so there is nothing wrong with SATA2), and it recognizes the DVD on the SATA1 drive.

    OK, so I did that for a while, and virtually all combinations I tried worked as long as the DVD player is not plugged in SATA2.

    I cannot live with that, but thought it was really strange.  Also, I note that the old operating system (Vista) was acknowledging the same DVD player while it was plugged on SATA2.  This leads me to believe that the problem has something to do with Windows 8, but I can't imagine what could be the cause.

    Thanks dude.  After you create this registry key/value and restart Windows 8 was able to finally see my DVD drive on SATA2.  =)
