  I'm sorry it doesn't - there are perhaps other issues (HP or Microsoft drivers and software) preventing to install printing software and works as expected.

  Migration from one operating system to another can be brutally hard on the file system.

  A few random ideas:

  When you try again - restart all:

  • Shut down / off everything, including the router (and all connected mobile devices) >
  • Leave the router (in condition off the coast) a few minutes > bootstrap router > wait a minute >
  • Start or computers on the network > mobile devices from start > printer start

  Remove any program of printing of programs and features

  Make sure that your Adobe Reader DC is on the latest version (and Flash, too)

  Printer's happiest with an Ethernet - and a static IP address if you have stability issues

  To resolve this problem in xp, you'll sign > Folder Options > File Types > Powerpoint > show and uncheck the box that says "Confirm open after download".  At startup, the Powerpoint file then begins as a slideshow.

  In Windows 7, the folder options method is not available.  So, how can I get the same result.  There is no option in Powerpoint to do this.  I think that a registry hack is required.

• Why defragment my option is no longer available on Windows XP?

  Basically, I defragment my hard drive (C :) it several days ago and the electricity supply was abruptly cut off half feel, though.) Since then, I tried several times to use the app and I got a message saying:

  MMC cannot open the file. It is perhaps because the file does not exist, is not an MMC console, or was created by a later version of MMC. Perhaps it is also because you don't have sufficient access to the file.

  First of all, I am the administrator of my computer.

  Second, I tried a method suggested by:

  b) type C:\Windows\Inf and click on OK.

  ( c) a click on the file defragmentation (because dfgr.inf is not on the menu that appears !);

  d) and then finally clicking on INSTALL.

  The defrag icon always in Start Menu/accessories/tools system and yet, nothing IS seems to have changed! As a result, the same message (see above) appears!

  Can anyone help me, or possibly shed light on what can happen and if I can eventually get it back?

  Once Sfc starts, you will need to install the xp installation cd, leave the

  menu screen... Once the Sfc thru, type: CHKDSK C: /F
