DVD slot on my laptop

Hello world

I was burning the music to a cd, when I came to eject the cd, the slot is opened, when I went to "my computer", the c/d, dvd icon disappeared.

now I can't get the cd out of ideas? Thank you

There should be a small hole in the front of the DVD player.

Straighten a paperclip (fixing of paper) and insert one end into the hole carefully.

Apply just enough pressure so that the tray moves slightly...

Remove the CD, close the drive and restart the machine.

The DVD player should reappear in the configuration.

    Hello

Can you please tell us what operating system you are using and what model of laptop.

In any case, if your optical disc drive can read CD but not DVD, it is possible that the driver is defective or the lens is dirty.
The first time, please clean the lens.

If this will not help it is possible that ODD has problem with the calibration of the lens.

Try using the rescue disk ejects the functionality of the drive:

On the drive, you will see a small hole on or immediately below the disc tray.

    Straighten a paperclip or simillar.

Insert the straight end of the paperclip into the hole and push. You should snap inside the locking mechanism. The tray should come out, you can then extract the drawer manually. On some readers, to push and pull the clip several times until you can hold and pull the status bar.

For your second problem, I suggest as the posting to group Windows 7.

    Hi Bob

Replacement optical drive should not be so complicated. In the lower corner, you will find a screw M2 ODD. When the screw is removed, push the reader and then you can insert if of the Bay.
    I hope that's it.
Check the drive specs and order a new one. I hope that you will be able to again place.

  • Satellite P300 - is - it normal that the buttons CD/DVD turns on the laptop?

    Hi all

My laptop is Satellite P300 - PSPCCE. I noticed that if the laptop is off and press the CD/DVD function it turned on and play Windows media player.

My question is - is this normal, and if this normal how to disable this option?

    Thank you

    Hello

It's definitely normal. It's not on the new Satellite P300, but also on the old models of laptops with these buttons.
To be honest I don't know that I don't know if you can turn it off. Either the buttons are in use or not, but, as far as I know, there is no option where you can disable this option to boot the laptop but then use buttons located under the operating system.

I'll test it on my Satellite A300.

    Here are a few selected information from the Service Manual that answers your questions;

housing for module customer accessible/upgradable memory 1 or 2 (depending on model) 2 slots: DDR3L - 1600 MHz Dual Channel Support (Core processors)

2 slots: DDR3L - 1600 MHz Dual Channel Support (Core processors)

Supports up to 16 GB of RAM in the following configurations: 16384 MB total system memory ● (8192 × 2)

If you have 2 slots and can install 2 x 8 gigabytes of memory to laptop DDR3L-1600 yours is a "Core" (i5).

HP recommends 8 module in concert:

    Module (PC3L, 12800, 1600 MHz) memory: 8 GB 693374-005

    Kingston sells this compatible memory:

    http://www.Amazon.com/Kingston-Technology-1600MHz-PC3-12800-KVR16LS11/DP/B00CQ35HBQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&QID=1456265312&SR=8-1&keywords=693374-005

However, upgrading memory is considered possibly a procedure of "Authorized Service Center only" (the manual is inconsistent on this) and is not easy to do in all cases. It would also potentially negate your warranty, but it is not 100% certain, either. Here is the manual and memory installation is completely up to the 75 percent. It would require removal of the motherboard, we will tell you.

  • What region DVD can read my laptop?

I couldn't find anything on the guide "in Help and Support" or in the control panel.

It should be compatible. What is the format and type of DVD? Is this a movie or a program on DVD?

  • MediaSmart DVD Setup on ProBook laptop error

I posted this earlier the main forums of HP. I got a response suggesting that redirect the issue in the case. I got this laptop at Newegg last Christmas when my other broken; I don't use the laptop for business, more education (college) and general use, including browsing the web and media (like watching movies). I'm not sure either why there are two separate forum sites for the same company, rather than an individual section for business customers in the general network (and why, as I just discovered, the company website has Smileys!), but that's. (Won't to sock a gift horse in the teeth.)

Anywho, I have problems to install the software HP Mediasmart DVD on my ProBook. I downloaded several "softpaqs" with DVD software and made the 'trick' to extract the installer with WinRAR or 7-zip and running setup.exe. Install starts OK but quit unexpectedly with an error: "this software can be installed in the authorized machine." But on the download page for each of the installers I have had HP Web site, it is no list of models "authorized."

I looked at the error message on some other discussions of HP, like this

.. .but have not been able to find a solution anywhere.

I tried to download the version of Windows 7 and even the older ones who were supposed to work for Vista. Other programs mediasmart work very well, I can't get the installation DVD. Is there a way to 'fool' or 'patch' the installer into believing that my laptop is "authorized", whatever that means? It makes no sense that I would not be able to use a HP DVD program because the computer does not have a hard drive (which, I believe, still plays Blue Ray). MediaSmart didn't come with the computer; I copied the SWSETUP folder from an older HP laptop computer to it and ran the installer. MediaSmart SmartMenu works, as do the MediaSmart Music video MediaSmart, MediaSmart Photo and MediaSmart TV & movies. Yet for some reason any MediaSmart DVD everything continues to be stubborn. What can I do to get this install?

Laptop is a product number 4540 s ProBook, 2CE33618W7, C9K70UT #ABA serial number (it's a zero, not letter "oh" as Oscar), running Windows 7 x 64 Professional SP1. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • The CD/DVD drive in my laptop is missing or not detected by my Acer Aspire 4520?

A while ago my laptop Acer fell and the CD/DVD drive pulled after its fall. I thought for sure that it was broken and my laptop. Fortunately it seems not that this was the case and after that put in does what it normally would, the green light would flash and it seemed to work again. However, I never thought not to test with a DVD or CD to see if it actually worked. Is that recently that I started to use CD for games and other and I found the driver to read the discs, but nothing happened thereafter.

Well for some time now, I tried to find a solution to my problem. The driver seems to work, but when it comes to playing the discs it do anything more. Some of my other programs such as Windows Media Player saying that my laptop is missing the driver CD/DVD. I also went to the menu of F2 from the laptop to the startup and after looking around, I find that there is no entry for the CD/DVD drive and that the entry is empty. I'm not sure why my laptop can't detect the drive. I tried many things such as the Microsoft Fix It, but ends up giving me an error saying that some components are not well read or something similar to that.
Any help is greatly appreciated and if there is anything that I can provide for any further help I will do it gladly.
I should also mention that the CD/DVD does not appear in Device Manager.

    Hi Emmanuel,.

It's a hardware problem, your CD/DVD drive is not detected by your computer. I suggest you to follow the steps and check if it helps.

Method 1: Check if your CD/DVD drive is detected in BIOS Basic Input Output System ().

IMPORTANT: BIOS change / oxide of additional metal (CMOS) semiconductor parameters incorrectly can causeserious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

Method 2: Follow the steps in the link and check if that helps.

You can also try to contact Acer support and check if it helps.
