DVD + writer/copy right protection

I'm a sports videographer. I use Adobe Premiere Elements 2.0 to edit and burn DVDs to play for my clients. My clients tell me that they are unable to take on my DVD clips to create point highlight DVD or video files to send coaches to college on the internet because my DVD is somehow integrated 'copyright protected' or copymaking proof signal or whatever the technical term is for preventing them to realize their project. I'm not knowingly click on any feature to make it happen on purpose. I tried to find the problem and the solution in the manual, but did not find anything. I hope I describe my dilemma properly. Is it possible to disengage this feature so that my clients can do anything they want with the images on the DVD that I do for them?  Thank you for your help.

Welcome to the forum.

As says ATR, pre impossible to create a video DVD with protection against copying. No serious DVD-Video may not have protection against copying, as such, but only replicated DVDs and PrE is not able to produce these documents, even if it means a House of replication. This isn't the issue here.

Now, you provide clients with DVD-Video (with the structure of files VIDEO_TS, to be played on a computer with the software DVD or a set-top DVD player connected to a TV), or provide DVD-data discs, where you simply copy the AV files to a DVD disc for distribution? The disks would look the same, but have structures different record engraved on them.

How your customers are trying to extract the files? With a DVD-video media files will be in a VOB container, and those who may need to be stolen in the DVD-video, to be used. Before you can do this extraction, provided that the DVD-video is 100% compatible DVD. The VOB created by pre should be 100% compatible DVD. Not all NLE (of Non-linear editing) programs CAN import and work with the VOB. In these cases, other software is to rip MPEG-2 DVD AV of cans of VOB, ├a files import and edit those. This may mean an extra step for customers, but it will depend on the software that they have access to and may differ, customer to customer.

As a test, although limited to the pre, I take one of your DVDs, copy the VIDEO_TS folder on a HARD drive internal, then open a new project in pre (NTSC or PAL DV would be the desired project Preset screen or 4:3 Standard and 16:9 wide, whereby you shot), then import the VOB into this project. You get errors? Remember, that ONLY tells you if you have created the VOB, such as PrE can import those. According to the client software, they might, or might not be able to use the VOB directly.

Good luck and sorry to add more questions to the RTA, but the answers to all, can tell the story.

  • DVD writer is recognized but cannot burn files

I am working on a friends computer and had to do a restore point to fix another problem.  After the restore point, everything works except the DVD/CD burner.  I can install a blank DVD or CD and Windows recognizes it and says I need to format it.  I have format it and give it a name and he accepts it. I put this drive on another computer, and it displays the name, I gave and I can use the disc in another computer.  I put the disc into his computer and it shows the disc with the name I gave to him, but I can't copy all of the files for it.  It does not show the ability to burn files when I select the files and if I try to copy or drag them to the DVD writer, nothing happens.  Paste function is grayed out when I select the DVD burner.  I can read files off other disks.  I tried to uninstall the DVD/CD player and reinstall the driver.  I uninstalled the IDE controller and reinstalled the driver.  Nothing seems to fix this.  The computer is an HP Pavilion Slimline s3200t with a built-in DVD/CD burner model HL-DT-ST DVD - RW GSA-H60L.  It runs Windows Vista Edition Home Premium with Service Pack 2. This drive was working properly before using the Restore Point.  I have not found any similar to this problem in the help forums.  Help, please.  Thank you.

Work Yes, but does not properly. Visit the forums to Evan and try the above methods
as sometimes running across these kick will begin a CD/DVD to work properly. As I said
a CD/DVD is 4 disks 1 and one or several parts can fail separately from the rest.

Have you recently added any software CD/DVD? What antivirus/antispyware/securiy programs have
NEVER been on the system - these and the remains of those installed since may cause strange problems.

  • DVD HP dvd200i drive: HP DVD Writer dvd200i installation software

I removed my OEM HP DVD Writer dvd200i from HP Win XP machine died at a Win 7 machine.  It is not recognized, so I guess I need s/w installation.  Am I correct, and where can I get the s/w?  I searched HP support and can't find any s/w installation it for HP DVD Writer dvd200i model.

What you need is not the installation software, but a driver.

To appear in Device Manager?  If so, clidk right it and update driver.  It must install at least one generic driver.

This isn't a young unit and unfortunately HP only provides drivers for it up to Windows XP.  You try to install the driver compatibility by right click on the downloaded exe file then compatibility mode.

  • DVD writer stopped writing - Vista missing files

My dvd writer just stopped working. It crashes 5 dry (50%) and then told me that I don't have a recordable disc. I just noticed, but he COULD have started right after my daughter installed the latest version of itunes. Certainly miss me my IMAPI service cmd = sc query ImapiService returns "the Service does not exist. I have also no controller of ata/atapi IDE showing in my device manager, although my SATA dvd writer appear.

I'm running Vista 64 HP SP2 on a HP 8430f mediacenter. I swapped the device and tried different disks without result. What deleted my files? Two of them are the source of my problem? Can an 'upgrade' of Vista with my old discs to reinstall them?

The Itunes software has caused your problem. Not knowing your daughters age and sensitivities, I can only offer this Advisor, from the season. (Look at my photo for a clue).

You will find a hand for her computer or you share the computer with different accounts.

Now, to solve your problem for now.

    (1) have you tried a "system restore point". Vista has written a just restore point before the installation of applications (ie itunes).

    (2) HP troubleshooting utility:http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00817052&tmp_task=solveCategory&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&os=4062&rule=3540&product=3686668&sw_lang=#c00817052_dm

    (3) can do an "upgrade" to Vista with my old discs to reinstall them? Please, do not use this wording, I get a terrible cold. What your actually implying to use your "recovery discs DVDs" to solve the problem.  This is not an upgrade, it is a destructive formatting your drive, reinstall the original Vista operating system. Have you started shaking? (Any OS) reinstall erases the hard drive. You willlose all your photos, music, documents and all theinstalled programs that you added to the system.

  • Win 7 and DVD writer LG GP50Nb40 USB - device unknown

    Hello

I bought the DVD external USB GP50Nb40 LG burner and I'm under Win 7 64 bit.  I have connected the device with the supplied cable and windows says that there is already a device and refused to play the DVD.

I have a HP DVD writer internal.  so I assumed that there was a conflict and disabled the HP device.  Windows has always refused to recognize the device.

then I activated the HP and put the LG inside installation disk and copied it on my hard drive.

then I opened my office case and disconnect the power cable and sata internal DVD HP.

then I turned the computer back on and the LG software installed disk.

then I downloaded an update from LG as directed by their software.

He failed because he said that I didn't have the specified device from LG.

but I have the LG connected via USB 2.0 hub, but I can't use it all.

    Windows displays an unknown device.

is there anyway to get my external LG to work or do I have to return to electronic Fry?

I've already spent more than 2.5 hours on what should have been a very simple installation, that's why I bought a USB device instead of an internal procedure.

Assuming that you tried to connect to USB ports - preferably a USB port on the back plane of the computer and not through a hub - I assume that the device is defective and return.

From what I can tell, this external hard drive does not have its own power supply and relies on the USB for power.  This can cause problems if you have other devices drawing power.  Try that it connected directly to the computer with no other USB devices connected other than the keyboard and mouse.

    Hello

Yes, I think that it is possible, because the L10-189 has a DVD Super Multi drive installed.
Go to a service partner, they can build in the player for you. Otherwise, you will lose your warranty.

I have Toshiba Satellite A75 and try to connect external DVD writer in USB 2.0. The writer is recognized without problems. She can read and erase CD and DVD but when trying to save in Nero 6.6 I received the error message: "abandoned scsi command.

    Hi Arek

In my opinion, there are many reasons that may be responsible for this problem.

One of them is a conflict with other software of CD burning, that is currently or was once installed on the system. These other recording programs registry changes is the normal cause and only for cleaning the registry after removing the software will solve the problem.

You have some other burning software installed on your device?

Someone has ideas how to get this working again?

  • The DVD Writer driver is missing

    Hello

I use HP Pavilion laptop g6 and it has the same windows 7 Home Edition I got when purchasing the laptop.

I inserted a DVD that had some photos, and then my antivirus has warned that there is a virus. I clicked on "move to the Vault", but he said something like 'located in the optical drive.

Now my DVD writer not bed not any disk. I tried to restart, but it was not successful. Device Manager says "Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) »

    Help, please!

It seems that your antivirus has played a role in the present. What anti-virus do you use?

You had considered using the system restore Windows to upgrade the operating system of your laptop computer to a restore point dated to before this happened?

The following video shows you how to use the system restore. You don't need to go in Mode safe mode system restore is accessible from within a normal Windows desktop.
