DVD writer will not realize any sound recording

I can burn the video portion of the DVD very well, but there is no audio data. all retired to device mgr. When I run the HP optical drive test, get a 'mistake' contact support '.

Hello peter47,

There may be a problem with the DVD writer into the computer.

What make / model of computer are you using?
What operating system?
What program do you use to burn the DVD and have you tried multiple?
You can burn CD which is just audio or do they have the same issue?

  • Satellite A500-141 - the CD/DVD drive will not recognize any disk in the status bar

I watch the DVD yesterday and he played upward halfway through and almost jerky. Ejected and thought no more of him now, the player will not recognize any disc, be it video or sound. I tried a system restore but still the same thing that it is not read disks. Any help appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi quietly,

If your CD/DVD drive doesn't work, how do you have a system restore?

Is the CD/DVD drive listed in Device Manager correctly or you see a yellow exclamation mark on it?

Maybe the lens is dirty and must be cleaned with a Microfiber cloth. Open try CD/DVD and try to clean the lens with a clean Microfiber cloth.

  • DVD writer will not burn disks in XP Pro...

I'm having a problem with a recently re-installed Windows XP Pro (in fact, Media Center Edition 2005, updated with SP3). I can not burn DVD at all; I've tried three different readers of verified and made a 'repair installation' to the BONE, but no dice.

In 'My computer', the drive (SATA, Samsung SH-S223C drive) presents itself as "DVD - RAM Drive (E :) ', but when I insert a blank DVD-R media, the name changes to 'CD Drive (e)' and pushes me, as usual, to open an accessible folder writable.). If I open the drive in the Solution Explorer, controls do not show that it can be "written". The same thing happens with two other known readers, who are all two PATA interfaces.

In the "Properties" for the reader, "Enable CD writing for this drive" is checked. In Computer Services, "IMAPI CD burning... '. ' is running.

I tried various checked drives and different brands of media (known to be good on the other PC), so the problem must be in the OS somewhere. I can't run the "Fixit" tool, because it invites me to .NET Framework 2.0 or later version, and I've got .NET Framework 4 already installed (what is yet another problem?).

    Any help would be appreciated.

Windows XP does not work (not never, will likely not ever) natively write on DVDs.  CD, Yes, he has limited there.  DVD - need a third party application.  You are using.

  • HP pavilion dv7 notebook pc windows 7 64 bit home hp mediasmart dvd player will not play any dvd

format not supported, says please insert a movie

    Hello

    OK, try the following.

As you use HP MediaSmart DVD to play discs, follow these steps.

HP now provides a version of PowerDVD 10 Cyberlinks which seems to be a better solution.  Download the latest installer for it on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp56501-57000/sp56904.exe

Once the download is complete, open windows control panel, open programs and features, make a right click the entry for HP MediaSmart DVD and select uninstall - when this process is complete, restart the laptop.

When windows has reloaded, open your downloads folder and double-click Setup for PowerDVD 10 start the installation.  Once done, see if your discs now plays OK.

  • CD/DVD-Rom will not read the CD

I just upgraded from vista to windows 7 Home premium database on my laptop and now my CD-DVD-Rom will not read any CD I put in the drive. He reads that DVD very well so I'm up for a loop now. My drivers are all far better that I can find. I know it's a CD-DVD-Rom, because before I updated I had no problem reading CDs and DVDs. This is a problem because all my anti-virus and other programs are all on CD. I don't know how to fix this. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    -Thank you

Thanks for the post with suggestions. I have tried it all and still had the same problem. I called Dell and got the laptop computer and an hour with a tech restarted my computer and try to fix it, they decided that something in the upgrade process damaged my CDRom and they sent me a new to replace my current one. I'll get it Tuesday and weather post or not, that is the question. Just in case where there are other people out there who might have the same problem.

  • T520 will not use any device DVD

    People,

I was going to do a backup, when I noticed that the DVD player was no longer under my computer.

I when in Device Manager, where he showed with a yellow X... I tried to update the device driver, it said that I had the right device. I've done many other things - nothing has worked.

I really wanted to get the backup made, so I took my portable DVD player/burner and plugged. The laptop computer found a loaded device OK... but it does not appear in my computer. I had the same problem as the DVD drive internal.

Then I got a USB drive external Passport, connected to the same USB port, no problems... He mounted the disk and I made the backup.

For any other problem of CD/DVD:

References to Vista also apply to Windows 7.

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and the
correct registry entries for your car.

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive
as there will be other subkeys in these keys. Do not forget to ask specific keys involved as well as
    the parameters.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\IDE

  • Tecra M1 will not read any type of SD card

    Help!
According to the title, my M1 will not read any type of SD card. I'm running the SP2 of XP reloaded from original floppies, and it is fully up-to-date with Windows Update.
The little green light adjacent to the slot flashes briefly on the insertion of a card, but nothing happening for example no open option window and nothing visible in my computer.

I downloaded the latest drivers and installed according to the directives of the readme.txt file and even thought to copy the SDDEVMGR.dll in the System32 folder.
I obviously lack something, so any help or pointers are welcome.

    Thank you very much. Craig

    Hello

Usually, books are not all sizes of SD card and so you should be sure that the used SD card is supported and compatible with the Tecra M1 card reader.

But if you are using a compatible SD card the laptop should be able to read/write on the SD card.
I try to remove the SD card in the Device Manager controller and remove the driver software malfunction. Restart the computer and install the latest drivers again.

PS: A registry cleaning would be desirable. CCleaner is a great registry cleaning applications

  • Satellite A300 DVD tray will not open and cause high CPU utilization peaks

    Hello

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite A300 - 1 MM and I have a problem with the optical drive (Mat * un DVD Ram Uj880as):

DVD - RAM plateau sometimes refuse to open. The LED lights up briefly, but still nothing. Windows recognize the drive but the plateau of refuses to open. Eject commands the position of work and management of the computer-> disk management will not work. I can open the tray manually but the optical drive will not read any cd/dvd. No error code in return.

When that happens it cause peaks of high utilization of the processor (from 60 to 100%) in the System Idle Process. Just stop and restart it solve. After that, the laptop also runs fine and the optical drive.

    I replaced Win7 32-bit with a 64-bit version and the problem persist.

    Help, please. Thank you.

I have the same machine with Win7 32 bit and use several players. Everything works perfectly. On this virtual path, it is not easy to say what may be the problem. The configuration of your laptop is not known to us, and we don t know how you set up your operating system and additional applications are preinstalled.

Maybe stupid advice now, but you must install recovery image original Vista that you got with the functionality of your laptop and test with the factory settings. If the same problem occurs we can chat about it.

Try to access the control panel > Sound > Audio. Check the recording tab if the Microphone is on and working. Click on set up and once you see the working driver (i.e., reacts to your voice), right click on it and the default value.
