  Hi all

  Please help me - I've updated my curve today but my PC is dead to half way through. Now when I turn on my phone it just comes up with a list (files, pictures, contacts, etc.) and the statesBlackberry platform 5.2.0.67. I try and close, click on them, but it just says error. How do I fix my phone back to normal?

  There are two methods for recovering for you to try:

  Method 1:

  • Open the Blackberry Desktop Software and connect your device to your PC with the USB OEM cable and without inserting the battery.
  • You will get three options: try again, update or cancel; Click Refresh.
  • Once, it is at the stage of initialization of 'pocket', insert the battery.
  • If this does not work, and you get stuck on the safeguarding of social data feeds, go to the second method below.

  Second method:

  • Start your BlackBerry in safe mode. KB17877 How to start a smartphone BlackBerry in Mode safe
  • Connect to the BlackBerry Desktop Software and allow handheld to connect. If you are prompted to update, cancel the upgrade for later.
  • IF you can not connect or your desktop software does not recognize your device in Mode safe, please follow the instructions here to force detection: Article ID: KB10144 how to force detect the BlackBerry smartphone using the Application Loader
  • Go to device > delete > SELECT DATA > select this option to remove the Social flow and smart card data bases and follow the rest invites you to complete.
  • Now, you can go back and click to update the device through the Desktop Manager, or restart the BlackBerry in normal mode and continue on the upgrade of the air.

  I need some serious help here as soon as possible, I can't reach all my friends with Q10 and Z10 by bbm normal message on my 9900... It will always bring X nothing I try to send them a message bbm nomal and Pings. I will receive their own message, but my own come deliver it to them, I will also see their updates of the pm and the will to see mine too.  Pls help me.

  Sorry for the trouble, but I noticed this same problem with few other users, who could not send pings to any BlackBerry 10 there BlackBerry 7 devices.

  To solve your problem, I suggest to re-install BlackBerry Messenger!  To do this on your homescreen go to Options > device > application > locate and remove BlackBerry Messenger from there. After deleting to do a battery pull reboot as this device powered on remove the battery wait a min. then reinsert back.

  Finally, after the reboot, use your BlackBerry browser and go to www.blackberry.com/bbmdownload and download the latest available for your phone model. If device reboot prompt do then sign in with your ID BlackBerry even.

  If the old BB is really dead, then it is not available as a source for restoring your data to your new device. Instead, you must use another source, one that you created before the old BB died.

  If you made a backup of office, you can use the backup as a restore source file:

  • KB10339 How to use BlackBerry Desktop Software to restore data from a BlackBerry smartphone from a backup file

  If you were synchronizing with a Desktop Organizer (for example, Outlook), then you can use that as source for restore reconfiguring the RIM Desktop software now work with your new BB:

  As you use BB Protect, is also an available food source:

  You must be sure to connect to, on the new BB, the same BB ID that you used on the old BB. If you have already created a new ID BB on this new BB, then you go to your old ID BB:

  This will allow even you to migrate other things that were on your old BB - for example, documents of purchase/download AppWorld.

• The mail icons new blackBerry Smartphones

  I have no unread messages, but there are two icons of mail on the screen. One leans to the right with a red 'x' in the upper right.  The other seems normal and the number goes down I read a message.  I deleted all my messages, but said leaning box 7 and the normal box says 1.

  If maisl isn't here as stated above then you must erase your SMS database.

  To clear the TEXT completely check following the steps:

  1. Connect the BlackBerry smartphone to the computer.
  2. Open BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
  3. Double-click on the backup and restore, and then click Advanced.
  4. In the list of device databases, select the appropriate database.  For your problem, select SMS.
  5. Click clear.
  6. In the warning window, click OK.

  Don't forget to have if you erase your SMS as mentioned above, then all Messages will be lost and cannot be extracted unless you have a backup.

  10. click on Next -> Finish

  11. once the process is complete, the load succeeded message

  12. click close to return to BlackBerry Desktop Manager.

  If you don't know where is the backup file, search your entire hard drive for a file with an extension of the RPI (*.ipd). Inspect the results - mainly date/time of the file. Select the candidate most likely and use it as a source in the above procedure.

  I have a white envalope with an icon for blackberry menu at the top of my backberry where notification is. I open it, but it does not show me a notification.

  It could be a lot of things.

  Click on the Messages icon, then press the menu key and select display folder.  If you scroll through the records one by one, you should be able to locate the message.

  Thanks for the replies.  I sort after 4hours of faffing! I have connected on mail Virgin as usual and then asked Tina on the reception of e-mails on BB and she gave solutions, I changed the settings POP3 and Email in the settings page of e-mail to accept/enable them, reset my password BBID, out the battery and restarted the phone, it then let me enter the password email address and to sync with my phone. Don't know what little of it has helped me.

• Help blackBerry Smartphones! I lost my e-mail icons

  I removed my Sim Card (and the battery of course) to test another phone.  When I replaced both and turned on my ATT BlackBerry "BOLD", my 2 Email account icons were passed many times the original shortcuts and then menu the full menu of the icon.  I went to the configuration and e-mail accounts are still displayed as active.  I even deleted and restored one of the accounts, but the situation has not changed.

  A fact, I hid sort icons?  Anyone know what could be the problem?

  Everything else seems to work ok.  That said, the profiles icon has disappeared at the beginning but reappeared when I plugged the phone on the charger USB (why would it?).

• Help blackBerry Smartphones... Need some clarification by e-mail.

  I'm a new user who uses the Curve 8310 for the work.  Our work email is a POP3 server on a Web server.  At this point, I can send and receive emails, but when I remove them from the BB they won't delete my outlook Inbox.  It also applies if I open an email on my BB they will show not open in outlook.  With this configuration I would be able to remove messages from the BB and have messages deleted in outlook?  If my email and BB communicate better?  any help is greatly appreciated.

  When I say it synchronizes I mean it is not reconcile.  Sorry, I should have used that term.

  They will never delete in both places.

  I tried to get the email of my work on my phone with no luck.  I contacted our it guy and he gave me the parameters and I still have no luck.  He said that Blackberry probably does not support a good secure Webmail.  The Outlook has been upgraded a few months back.  IPhones, cudgels and other work just fine with the email.  Is it possible to configure it to work?
