No, there is not. However, as an administrator, you can reset a password.

  • Other users but admin is not able to connect to a newly created application

    Hello

My customer has created a new application and only admin users have used until now. Now, they have configured the user rights to a group of people "Sales" but none of the people in this group of users are able to connect to the new application. They get the following error message: "year error occurred while processing this page.» See the log for more details. If please close the current tab and launch the application again. »

I should advice them on the phone, I have no access to this environment right now myself. The 'Sales' people are able to connect to the old application. You have any suggestions what could be harming the user the rights, roles, etc. ? And the error message refers to Essbase journal or... ?

Thank you very much for your suggestions!

PLS, check that the application is not in the section Maintenance (administration-> application-> settings) mode is default settings for newly created app

  • Ask administrator password to make changes, but do not connect

I would like to require the administrator password when the user or a program makes changes to the computer. However, I also need to be able to connect to the user admin without password. I prefer not to create a new user.

I already have my settings configured to require a password for changing the system. Whenever I have add a password to the account, the next password on startup.

If this is not possible through Windows or changes to the registry settings, would the feasibility be to write a program that changes settings of UAC on login and logout. This way, I wouldn't need the password for the connection, but once I have connection, the program will change the system settings to require it.

Sorry, your three requirements are contradictory.

In addition, you cannot change the UAC settings under script control. It would be an open invitation to any pirate.

    Hello

If your account is an administrator account, you can change the password of another user account in the Control Panel/users.  There is also the account by default in safe mode that is not normally protected by except defined by a user.

Otherwise, you will have to wait for the user to return. It is against the policy of Microsoft for users of the forum help others in circumvention of password and other security measures.

  • Need permissions in Win 7 to take possession of the corrupt administrator (user) account

I have a corrupt administrator user account that is only available in safe mode, at the command prompt.  I created another user account that gives me the Windows interface and I'm now trying to "own the administrator account to copy my files to my new user account."

I am not able to access or change anything from anywhere or management; (Registry, other user accounts, other folders or files, properties or fields etc.) due to the restrictions on my PC.  I tried to use the takeown.exe tool, but I'm not sure what should be entered in the command line.  I read on the parameters to TO, but do not seem to get any results.

Your advice is appreciated... Thank you!

Since you were using the command prompt window when you created the new user, I just assumed you have made using the command:

NET user newuser * / add

where 'newuser' is the name of the new user?

Did you also give this privilege to administrator newuser entering control:

net localgroup administrators newuser / add

    While logged as administrator?

It would be necessary to perform the actions that you are trying to do.

  • When I turn on my computer, already set up profiles disappear and are replaced by 'Kiosk' and 'other users' options that require passwords. I can get into 'other users' and find my previous user accounts, but lose them again after the reboot.

I bought a laptop with Windows 7 installed a few days ago. I started to set up user accounts, administrator and a guest. So far, I had been able to shut down and restart with the accounts of users even reappear. I turned on my computer and two 'user accounts' had replaced my previous. Named "kiosk", which requires a user name and password which I do not have access, and one named 'other users' that requires a user name and password. I type in comments and no password and then I can access the guest account. When I disconnect my administrator profile is available next to my usual guest account. Restart the "kiosk" and "other accounts" reappear. If it's any help, as soon as I put on my computer, I had named MDX kiosk and administrator accounts. I deleted the account kiosk MDX. I don't know if this is related at all. It is not necessarily a problem, but a disadvantage however and I panicked when this popped up on my computer.

Yes, you can uninstall MDX (it is called the digital experience of Microsoft) and it will remove the kiosk account and no trace of it, and then restart your machine. All other accounts on the machine should stay, but I would like to make a backup first. This should solve your problem. Associated with the store, you bought from should have done that for you, why they failed, I have no idea (we are instructed to do before the release of the machine to customers). If you don't mind asking me, where did you buy the machine?
