  I don't know where to ask this question. I have a site on my own domain name with hosting and I always coded from scratch. No third-party software. I use an FTP client and the notebook and write all the code myself. It's not like a lot of work as it may seem from my site only has about 10 pages and is primarily html/css with some thrown in php. It takes a minute or two to update.

  Since I have CC, I wanted to experiment with adding new features of functionality and design of my site as well as the creation of a second site using third-party software. I watched the videos from Adobe and read a few tutorials both Muse and Dreamweaver. Here's my problem:

  Muse seems like an excellent choice for my second site because I can drag and drop things and get the behavior/layout I I don't know how to code myself except that after the design, I want to export the code so that I can manually change (pull and remove any owner who is not actually necessary to design) and it seems that it's not good for this (can I change the HTML that Muse exports in an HTML editor such as Dreamweaver or Coda?).

  Dreamweaver seems to be an excellent choice to download my main site and tweak it or clean the code except that it does not have a "Visual Editor" where I drag something again in and modify the code on the spot. I feel like I need a hybrid of both applications and I don't know how I could do, so I decided to continue editing my site from zero and just copy and paste examples of code from Dreamweaver/Muse needed. Is this possible?

  I mean, this is, say, I want to add something concrete like a slide show, then I go to Dw/Muse, find a slide show code and simply copy it? Or the apps work in a way where they won't actually you show the code unless it is inside a project work? I think that Dreamweaver may be the best bet for this, but when I installed it, I couldn't really find where I would go to just to get codes for things specific and thought that I would ask.

  I was hoping that it would be a web 'library' of frequently used that I could just go in and pull the code from the design elements.

  Watch excerpts of Code from Dreamweaver.  Also the components "bootstrap" and "bootstrap".

  MU is for non programmers who cannot or will not learn to work with the code.   Everything that comes from ease-of-use at a price.

  Working with exported code generated MU is also fun to have a root canal.   The code is ugly, bloated, shredded, sometimes agonizing.  And MU Widgets add an extra layer of complexity to the mix.  You won't learn anything useful from generated code of MU.

  I discovered the error. There is a problem with special characters in in-navigation-editing. If the menu item has a special character as a tittle, N, etc. I can't edit this page and I get the error:

  

  I changed the name of the Muse pages, downloaded again and now it works.

• Muse, built websites are editable with Dreamweaver?

  I plan to get a creative cloud membership to replace my outdated suite CS3 Design Premium. In addition to the regular design applications, I build a website fast with Muse just setting up a site & running.

  Does anyone know if that site built Muse can be later updated and maintained with Dreamweaver (also from cloud creative) if additional features are needed that Muse may not perform?

  It's Saturday as I write this, and as much as I know there is no technical support available Adobe to discuss or take calls.

  Any help would be appreciated,

  Technically, it is possible to change the code, but it is not advisable or officially supported by Adobe to change Muse pages in Dreamweaver.

  The reason is, the code that is generated by Adobe Muse does not suit or you can tell has not been designed for editing in other html editing software.

• Academic Edition of Dreamweaver CS6

  I am a teacher of elementary school and currently employed full-time. I have the opportunity to buy Dreamweaver CS6, not open and never installed or registered.

  The version is the student/teacher edition for the Mac. I would still be able to register the product by providing the appropriate documentation and ID?

  I read the forums and there seem to be a lot of discussion about whether this works with El Capitan and seems many users said that it works very well.

  My main concern is whether she can still be registered and activated. Any help would be appreciated.

  It is mainly a user forum, so unless you get a response from someone with a STAFF badge below their avatar, the advice you will get here is not official.

  Dreamweaver CS6 is now four years old, and it will never be updated. It could operate satisfactorily on El Capitan, but it is not certified for it. The latest version of Mac OS X it is certified for is 10.7 (Lion). If you try to buy CS6 directly from Adobe, the sales agent will not sell it for any version of Mac OS X late 10.7.

  I don't know how the registration and activation of the academic versions works, but if you buy a legitimate version of the program, there should not be any technical problems with the activation.

  Even if you can register and activate the program, the fact that it will never updated means you run the risk to not work on the latest versions of Mac OS X. purchase a perpetual license does not mean that the software will work in perpetuity.

  In my view, that there are special academic rates for the creative cloud. Although it's in progress payments, it might be a better investment than CS6.

• I can turn a small WordPress site into a static site I edit in dreamweaver

  We have a customer who wants their revamped site. It is a small site on WordPress.com. I know that you can create static pages, but I don't see anything that allows you to transform existing pages in more static. Is it possible in Dreamweaver that we can open the site and convert.

  Let's not waste time, arguing the merits of Dreamweaver v. WordPress. I just need an answer.

  No, there is no automagical button in DW to do this, but, you might be thinking more than it anyway.

  You can simply copy the source code of the page (the page of final output sent by the server to the Viewer) online and who bring in DW as a new page. Then it's just a matter of copying the images, javascript and css files and and their restoration of links.

  Photoshop Cs6 comes with my creative cloud membership? If that's the case I can't open in Muse to change my psd. Which sites are most useful for the tutorials/help?

  Yes, Photoshop is included in the subscription of creative cloud, but it is a separate product that Muse.

  Different products are included in the subscription package that you can use.

  Muse is a different product, where you can design/create sites. For image editing, you can use Photoshop.

• Question about editing a Dreamweaver template

  and have blurred by editing it and went 'ok' according to my criteria.

  Pending a question I have is how to something 'UNDER' my left navigation bar.

  If you look at my site http://mpalitigation.com/index.html you will see a waaaay button from paypal to the bottom on the left side, I was hoping

  to put this button under the links for navigation but not just with them.  I tried to do a crash course on the float, clear, etc... but

  the best I could do was clear after the navigation bar left float but then the content in the middle is pushed down under the end of the navigation bar.

  Any help would be appreciated.

  I know I just posted a question, but I have a quite separate issue. (the joys of web design!)
  
  As I said in my other post, I have a crossword site and use Crossword Forge to make puzzles.
  
  Inside the .app when you export the crossword for the web, it makes a folder containing different files.
  1 cwf_live.swf
  2 index.html
  3 puzzle.xml
  4 .jpg (for the background image)
  5 .pdf (for the answer key)
  
  To change what anyone on the crossword page, you need to open the file index.html.
  I tried to edit these pages, so that they coincide with the home page and so on. It is fine if I just put in the text.
  When I insert my bar of navigation, logo, and all the other stuff the flash player for crosswords disappears when I publish it. It's all still there when I open it in Dreamweaver.

  Well well, thanks much for the help. I actually figured this out on my own. I will briefly describe just in case where in the unlikely event that someone else has this problem.
  I found that my navigation bar has been making crossword puzzles disappear. Code of the navigation bar was lifted in the middle of the code flash player inserted by Crossword Forge. I had to copy and paste chunks of code here and there and retype parts. But it works now.

  What? You don't need to use Contribute unless you and other editors are
  collaborate on the same site of edition.

  If you are the only person on a site, then you need only Dreamweaver.

  Hello, I have a bit of a dilemma in Dreamweaver now and I was wondering if anyone might know a potential solution. I'll try to be as clear and understandable as possible.
  
  When I build a Web page layout in Photoshop for import into Dreamweaver, once I use the tool to prepare my page for output, my page is transformed into images. I have no problem with that, except when I need to place some editable elements (such as text, for example), on them inside of Dreamweaver, which is where it becomes a problem.
  
  My question is, how would one time on the creation of these "circles" (that is what they are called?) in a way that allows the content to be placed here, without treating them as an image Dreamweaver and so gave rise to the disability to place content there?

• Fireworks edit in Dreamweaver pout and refusing to update.

  Again, I am new to Fireworks... Let me know if I'm completely off base here. Before we begin, I'm using Fireworks CS3 and Dreamweaver CS3 as part of Adobe Creative Suite 3 Web Premium. I use an iMac running OS 10.5.2, Leopard.
  
  I just finished the design of a new navigation bar in Fireworks for my company's website. The HTML exports and very well integrated in the existing pages (so far). I'm testing each page with the new HTML Fireworks to see if something is going nuts until I take it direct.
  
  Here is where I could be delusional. I insert the HTML in a page, and then use the option "Edit in Fireworks" in DW to change the default state of a button by using the option "display in 'down' State of charge" (depending on which page is currently facing upwards). I noticed that even if I use the option "Edit in Fireworks" to do other things (for example minor spacing problems) with marginal success... FW is not reflecting the changes "in State" DW at all. I swear I've done this before and it worked, however!
  
  When I'm doing these changes and "Outlook" in FW, everything works as it should. However, as soon as I hit 'done', no update is reflected in the DW page... or they are saved in the original HTML the FW file when I go back and check.
  
  If I'm completely wrong, what would be the best way of reflecting a button 'to the low state of charge"for each page of the Web site? I have to make the changes and their re-export resave files?

  I just worked through this exactly the same problem today so I'm happy to help you. The easy answer is that when you export the HTML to Dreamweaver, you must check 'Multiple Nav Bar HTML Pages' in the 'Specific Document' tab (under the button options in my Fireworks MX).
  AFAIK, you end up with a navigation bar to each of your links and I then have to import these each of your pages that is not helping with the use of models. I hope I can find a different answer to that one.
