Environmental parameters for Start Up and recovery path

Is this the path variable normal environment for start-up and recovery in Control Panel?

"% SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem; C:\Program Files\Fichiers SharedCOM Shared\DLLShared\; C:\Program Files\Fichiers SharedCOM Shared\DLLShared\; C:\Program Files\Fichiers SharedCOM Shared\9.0\DLLShared\"

Also in the services, I started and running a secondary connection with an unattached profile and another service called 'readyboost' with another unattached profile that is disabled, but these two have passwords on them.

I reinstalled vista windows from a recovery disk that I ordered from HP.  I have a Pavillion DV6500 and the new facility took 6 hours to complete.  Also my service packs keep uninstall and I have more than 40 x active controls in my addons on new IE8 running without permission.   Is this normal?

First, it is not normal that Roxio entries be in the path of the environment (although I don't know what Roxio did when installing - it can for some reason any add them, but I can't imagine why).  Did you install Roxio or came with the HP recovery disk?  I would like to remove the entries from Roxio, but it is your decision to do that I don't know what effect this will have on your system.  Roxio doesn't play well with Vista in general (or you can leave them alone because they are probably not wrong).

Secondly, it is not normal to have 40 controls ActiveX in IE8 modules quickly and without add them yourself.  I don't know how they got there or what they're doing.  I all would disable them until you get this thing figured out.  It is possible that they have been added by HP because you used their recovery process - but I don't know.  Ask HP.

Thirdly, it seems that the recovery of the system did not work properly.  To install service packs, you must first do a complete update of Windows (perhaps several times), before appear no more.  And then install SP1 (unless it was one of the updates).  Then run Windows update again until no furter updates appear and then install SP2.  Then run Windows Update again until no other updates appear and you will be updated.  If you have tried to install service packs without installing updates firstly this is perhaps why they do not work properly (it isn't normal for service packs to uninstalll on their own).  You need to contact HP again and explain the situation - they can send you bad discs or you will have to start the process.  They may help you with the process and problems of this result.  We can't really help you because it it to HP to start the process and non-Microsoft.

I hope this helps.

Good luck!

    Hello

    This process will allow you to do a Vista repair disc. This isn't an installation disc, but will allow you to use the Vista Recovery Console that is available on commercial versions of Vista.

    Download the file from the link below.

    Vista 64-bit

    It is a zipped file.  If you do not have an extraction utility installed, download and install 7-Zip, when installed, right-click on the zipped folder, select extract files and then click Ok.  You should now see another folder containing the ISO file.

    You will need software to burn the ISO to a CD.  If you don't have that guy on the software installed, download and install ImgBurn and use it to burn the ISO to a CD.

    Once you have created the Vista repair disk, follow the guide on the link below to see if it undertakes to repair your installation - you may need to run this several times.

  • Failures of start-up and recovery Dell XPS 8700

    The system is 2 years old.  No recovery image was never created.

    Here are the original symptoms.

    1. cannot start Windows 8.1 on Dell XPS 8700.
    2 OS refresh fails.
    3. OS restore points fail.
    4. OS auto repair fails.
    5 restart the failure of Options (Safe Mode, start Debug mode).
    6. command prompt fails (cannot find all administrator accounts).

    Done so far:

    Created a bootable flash drive. After changing the BIOS setting to boot using the USB key, first of all, the PC started successfully. Then, I was able to access the command prompt and save the user data files.

    Then, I went back into the BIOS and changed the boot order to the internal HARD drive. I rebooted and finally started a reset from the PC (factory restore). After the reset process has reached 4%, I got a reset failure message. A subsequent reboot then gave me an error message file BCD 0xc000000d "the BCD file is missing information". The next restart gave, I can best recall, 'no partition not found on the internal hard drives And I could see no longer the menu of UEFI, just the BIOS (A06) firmware. After change the order of boot and boot to the flash drive, I could see that a lot of files apparently had been marked for deletion on the C: drive as user profiles did not appear. At one point, the flash player had become the C: drive and HARD drive is X:. But which cleared up later. After getting the quick C: folder to the HARD drive, I published the following commands Bootrec /fixmbr and /fixboot, Bootrec scanos Bootrec rebuildbcd Bootrec. After trying to start once more on the internal HARD disk, I had another variant of the BCD file error, 0xc00000098 "the BCD file contains no valid information for the operating system".

    Any chance of recovery in this situation?  Otherwise, I guess we will have to get a replacement drive (that is, SSD) and a copy of Windows 10.   Thank you.

    Hi 2Tallinva,

    Yes, that sounds like a hard disk failure. You can try this site to download a disc Windows 8.1. Of course, a free update to win 10 is better than paying for an OS you already entitled to.

  • Drive hard new for the car and recovery

    Hello

    I have a Pavilion dv4-2141nr S/N: [personal information deleted]. I installed a new model of disc hard WD WDBMYH0010BNC-NSPS, + 2.5 - inch SATA 3 Gb/s. I set the BIOS to start fron DVD/CD and it appears "no boot device - insert boot disk and press a key" on the screen. I tried to reset the hard drive several times and it always comes to the top. What I am doing wrong?

    Sorry, that didn't work.

    It could be a bad set of recovery discs, a bad DVD player, who knows?

    But there a sure fire way to know, if you're in the game.

    Make your own bootable installation of W7 Home Premium DVD.

    If you can still read all 25 characters of the product key of W7 on the bottom of your laptop, you can use the support that you have installed windows (assuming that the set of recovery disks is bad).

    http://MSFT.digitalrivercontent.NET/win/X17-24209.ISO Windows 7 Home Premium x 64 English

    Make sure you get the entire file to download.  Occasionally he sometimes displays a full download, but you don't have the file xx GB 3. integers download.

    Then use this tool to transfer the ISO to a flash USB 4 GB or DVD drive.  This tool will also make a bootable media.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/en-us/download/Windows-USB-DVD-download-tool

    If you can boot from the DVD drive (assuming you make the DVD) so you can contact HP and ask to have your money back, or make another set of recovery discs you sent.

    If you cannot start from ther DVD once again, there is a hardware problem any.

    Try to put the ISO file on a 4 GB USB flash drive and if you can boot from that and install Windows, then you know that there is some sort of problem with the hardware with the DVD player.

    4. stupid question, but not Windows 8 come with folders "My Documents" and "My Photos" already installed or do I need to create those myself?  I looked at several tutorials, but I'm not clear on this issue.

    Hello.

    1. According to the website of "create a recovery USB disk", it is usually between 3 and 6 GB, 8 GB USB key should be a lot.
    2. To copy your photos and documents to Windows 8 of your flash pen, simply plug the flash drive, open Explorer (shortcut +E) and drag - move the files in the folders of photos and documents.
    3. With the help of a local account prevents you from using OneDrive for backups of files online and save your settings.  I recommend creating a local account first, and then 'connect' to a Microsoft account.  In this way, you get all the benefits of an online account without sacrificing your local account, and you can always disconnect it later without affecting your local account.
    4. Yes it is safe.  These folders are in the same place as usual (under C:\Users\YourName), but they appear also as shortcuts when you open Explorer, to facilitate access.
  • Need a script for the trails and clipping paths

    I have over a hundred images (.tif or.) TIF) which have cut a path, but the names are all different. In addition, some have been activated for clipping paths. I need all paths tracks/clipping named path 1. I found an old javascript to do this using ExtendScript Toolkit, but it does not work. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    var selFolder = Folder.selectDialog ("location of pictures to treat... ») ;

    var files = selFolder.getFiles (/.) TIF | TIF / I) ;// must change to different formats

    argument newPathName var = prompt ("Put your cutting path name that you want," "path 1,"Clipping name"")

    for (var f = 0; f < files.length; f ++)

    {

    var doc = app.open (files [f]);

    var numberOfPaths = doc.pathItems.length;

    for (variety p = 0; p < numberOfPaths; p ++)

    {

    If (doc.pathItems [p] .kind == PathKind.CLIPPINGPATH & & argument newPathName! = doc.pathItems [p] .name) doc.pathItems [p] .name = argument newPathName;

    }

    doc. Close (SaveOptions.SAVECHANGES);

    }

    It is not a translation problem, after all, some of the files had problems sharing & permissions so I changed them all to & read/write. So I ran two separate scripts because I do not know how to combine them into one. It's what worked:

    This is script is for the NORMALPATH railways:

    var selFolder = Folder.selectDialog ("location of pictures to treat... ») ;

    var files = selFolder.getFiles (/ \.tif$/i) ;// must change to different formats

    argument newPathName var = prompt ("Put your cutting path name you want", "path 1", "Path name")

    for (var f = 0; f)< files.length;="" f++="">

    {

    var doc = app.open (files [f]);

    var numberOfPaths = doc.pathItems.length;

    for (variety p = 0; p)< numberofpaths;="" p++="">

    {

    If (doc.pathItems [p] .kind == PathKind.NORMALPATH & argument newPathName! = doc.pathItems [p] .name) doc.pathItems [p] .name = argument newPathName;

    }

    doc. Close (SaveOptions.SAVECHANGES);

    }

    This is for the CLIPPINGPATH railways:

    var selFolder = Folder.selectDialog ("location of pictures to treat... ») ;

    var files = selFolder.getFiles (/ \.tif$/i) ;// must change to different formats

    argument newPathName var = prompt ("Put your cutting path name that you want," "path 1,"Clipping name"")

    for (var f = 0; f)< files.length;="" f++="">

    {

    var doc = app.open (files [f]);

    var numberOfPaths = doc.pathItems.length;

    for (variety p = 0; p)< numberofpaths;="" p++="">

    {

    If (doc.pathItems [p] .kind == PathKind.CLIPPINGPATH & argument newPathName! = doc.pathItems [p] .name) doc.pathItems [p] .name = argument newPathName;

    }

    doc. Close (SaveOptions.SAVECHANGES);

    }

    I didn't have a single file with two paths inside and a dialogue has come, and I changed it to track 2, no sweat.

    Thanks for all your help!

  • Dell backup and recovery file storage location

    I am trying to locate where a backup of files of initial data with the help of Dell Backup and Recovery on my new Windows 7 laptop (Jan 2015), stored backup files.  I failed to provide parameters to use an external hard drive for backup.  I want to clean up backup files it does I can start using an external hard drive as storage location.  I looked everywhere, both on my laptop and Google search to find the location.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    I know that it is a bit a necro but since it is unanswered.

    You can determine where the Dell Backup and Recovery Software stored your files by default when opening the software and start to run another backup. (Note: when you run the software again you may see the option to run another backup from the home screen.) In this case click on the drop-down menu almost invisible in the title bar (blue arrow), then select "Backup" (red arrow) in the menu.)

    On the screen "Data Backup", check the "local".

    'Creating data backup' screen will display a box titled "Browse...". "under the title"Where. "

    At the bottom of this box, you should see the path where Dell Backup and Recovery saved your backup.

    For me, the default location is "C:\users\CURRENT_USER\Documents". (CURRENT_USER is your user name).

    If you navigate to this location in Windows Explorer, you should see a folder named "Profile1". Here's my Dell backup files are stored by default.

    If for any reason you do not see a folder named "Profile1" I open the files in the default location and search for files with the .inp file extension. What are your backup files.

    BTW, for anyone reading the FAQ is NOT DELL-Jesse L linked to you to note what the FAQ for Dell backup and recovery that is currently in use. This is the FAQ for their former Dell DataSafe Local Backup 2.0 software which they no longer use. If you read that FAQ you can noticed the question and the answer below:

    How can I move backups of the system to another location for storage?

    Backup system can be moved to another storage location if you wish. Simply open Dell DataSafe and edit the backup for backups of your system profile. When you select the location, select the location where you want that all backups of the system to create. The application will automatically move all backups of your system to this new location.

    I just tested this in the current version of Dell backup and restore (version 1.8.1.70), and he did NOT move my old files from backup to the new location, he created a new copy from the backup, so you should delete old copies manually.

    I hope this helps someone.

  • STOP: c0000221 {Bad Image Checksum}. The image rpcrt.dll is possibly corrupt and recovery XP says error during the extraction process. Details of error: path not found___

    My friend turned on their laptop packard Bell recently and had the following problem. Windows XP screen loads but is then followed by a blue screen that says STOP: c0000221 {Bad Image Checksum}. The image rpcrt.dll is possibly corrupt. The header checksum does not match the checksum calculated.

    I can't the laptop to go further. I have accessed the Microsoft recovery Panel and try a non-destructive recovery as there are some precious photos that need backup. However, when you select 'no profile' to begin the recovery, I get the message:

    Error during the extraction process. Details of error: path not found

    I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to this sort of thing, but if someone can provide step by step help giving rise to lose photos, I'd be willing to give it a try. I also have XP Home Edition disk that came with the laptop but has never been opened. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

    You hear your message said something about rpcrt4.dll?  It is important to relay the exact message you see.

    Please provide additional information on your system:

    What is your system brand and model?

    What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

    Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, MSE, Comodo, etc..

    The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination?  (this includes the plug pulling, buttons power, remove the battery, etc.)

    The afflicted system has a CD/DVD drive work?

    You have a true bootable XP installation CD (it is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?

    You use some CD to access this Panel of Microsoft recovery where this "no profile" option is?  I don't know what all this means if it isn't some CD shipped with your system, in which case, I would use it for a coaster instead of something to fix your system.

    If the c:\windows\system32\rpcrt4.dll file is missing or afflicted, you do not start in the last good known Configuration.

    You also will not start in any kind of Mode safe no more.

    Even if you could boot mode safe, you would find that sfc/scannow does not work in Mode without failure in all cases (never).  If you try it, you'll see a message like this:

    Windows file protection could not initiate a scan of protected system files.

    The specific error code is 0x000006ba [the RPC server is unavailable.].

    Failed to start the RPC mode server safe either.

    I can't recreate your error exactly, but it is easy to replace the rpcrt4.dll file.  Looks like you have a working CD drive, so put yourself a Hiren boot CD and when you started on this, you can copy your precious files to a USB device for safety.

    There should be a backup copy of rpcrt4.dll already on your system, here or here:

    c:\Windows\System32\dllcache

    c:\windows\ServicePackFiles\i386

    You need to rename or replace the rpcrt4.dll file which is in c:\windows\system32 and replace it with one you will find the backup copies.

    There should be a backup copy of rpcrt4.dll already on your system, here or here:

    c:\Windows\System32\dllcache

    c:\windows\ServicePackFiles\i386

    When you get the Hiren's CD's, you can use to replace the missing or suspicious file.  If you need help with that, first get the Hiren's boot CD made and start over, then we can continue.

    Do you have a Hiren BootCD you can download here:

    http://www.hirensbootcd.NET/

    On the left, click on download, scroll down, choose the latest version, the download link is a little hard to see.  It is at the bottom of the page, above the drop for older versions and looks like this (click this component to download the ZIP file):

    Direct HTTP mirror + Torrent, Torrent Magnet

    Click the "Live HTTP Mirror" link to start the download and save the ZIP file on your desktop of somewhere that you can remember.

    The ZIP file is large, so the download will take probably some time to complete.  Then unzip the download to extract the Hirens.BootCD.ISO file that will be used to create your new bootable CD.

    Create a bootable CD. ISO file is not the same as simply copying the. File ISO onto a blank CD.  You must use software that includes how to burn a. ISO to a CD to create a bootable CD.

    File ZIP the Hiren is the file BurnToCD.cmd that you can double-click to launch it.  The BurnToCD.cmd will use the file BurnCDCC.exe to burn the. ISO file onto a blank CD using your existing CD burner.  You can also use your own burning software as long as your software is able to create a bootable CD. ISO file.  More modern burning programs can create a bootable CD. ISO image.  Create a CD from an ISO image bootable is not the same as just the file on a CD burning.

    If you need a simple and CD burning, this is a free software popular software:

    http://www.ImgBurn.com/

    Here are some instructions for ImgBurn:

    http://Forum.ImgBurn.com/index.php?showtopic=61

    It would be a good idea to test your new bootable CD on a computer running.

    You may need to adjust the computer BIOS settings to use the CD-ROM drive as the first device to boot instead of the hard drive.

    These adjustments are made before Windows tries to load.  If you miss it, you will need to restart the system again.

    When starting on the Hiren's CD, you will see a menu of options.  Choose Mini XP.  It will appear while Windows is loading and you will be presented with a desktop computer that has the look and feel of the interface of Windows Explorer, you are already accustomed to using.

    Using the Mini XP, you can access Internet, maneuvering around your system, search for files, copy files, replace the files and run the scans for malware, edit the text files (like the c:\boot.ini) etc.

    There are dozens of free and useful tools included in the CD that can be used to repair your system or copy your important personal files on another device (like a USB device or an external drive) in the case where you just give up and decide to reinstall your XP (I hope that you will not make this decision)

    Do, or do not. There is no test.

  • Paths multiple parameters for RDM attached to ESXi 5 guests

    We are implementing a new SAN, an EMC VNX and have been advised by soing installation provider to set multiple paths for all devices to roundrobin.  Also advised it us to change the OPS are / s by default of 1000 to 1.  So I wrote a PowerCLI script to do this and everything works great.  I run the script every day to ensure that all new devices are replaced with the recommended settings.

    Yesterday when I ran the script, our attached SQL of VM with RDM server has started having huge disk latency issues.  As soon as we have changed the OPS are / default 1000 s, disk latency issues went away.  We could not find EMC information saying that RDM devices should have their IOPS / s set at 1000 or what their Multipathing parameters should (currently runnin on turnstile without no significant problem), but we found information from other storage vendors saying that we should go with the settings best practices of Microsoft at least the multi-pathing is set to MRU.

    Anyone out there has any information or advice on what we should do.  We will of course ensure that the OPS are / s for the RDM are set to 1000, but what are the recommendations for multiple paths of the RDM.

    See you soon

    Ant

    As a general rule, Multipathing for RDM must be the same as that of storage of data VMFS, with the exception of MSCS RDMs, which are required to be set multiple access paths, by VMware

    I'm going to guess in your case that you had a few LUNS of the questions that you should study the trespass (or get Powerpath/VE for your env and never worry about it again).

Alas at step 2 the progress of rescue and recovery, the new generation of the system stopped. Black screen with the message: «backup system is...» 0 % ». Here I wait for hours. Nothing progesses.

    What should I do? Island of 'progress' is already happening for 6 hours! (I see that my external HD flashes from time to time, but the computer does not seem to do anything).

    What should I do? I fear that if I press the power button to restart the computer, I will plant it completely.

    Please help me!

    Thanks in advance

    Roger

    Rescue and recovery hung several times for hours. Yet, it seemed to work after 20 hours. Puhhhh...

    Lenovo at: Your UI during the rescue and recovery process is ineffective. He left me without any feedback for hours. Almost, I rebooted the computer during critical backups. Here you certainly should help the user to understand what to do and what not. How can I find out, it's OK to have a bar saying 0% progress made for 8 hours.

    Even now, I don't know what to do. The computer restarts, windows is OK. But now I can turn off the computer or is always something during rescue and recovery. The last time, he says, it is step 2 on a total of 5 steps. Is it still now something in the back? The rescue is complete? Where is the message telling me, he did the job.

    All users: be patient, do not hit anything it either by running a rescue and recovery.

    Lenovo: By the way, I had - after installing my computer with xp - makes a backup of the system. that I repeated it several times. When my HD arrived full, I remove some of the older versions, because anyway, I had the newer versions which worked perfectly. Alas, I didn't, which obviously rescue and recovery done a system save, later versions are simply updated. By removing the first version, I lost all the! So, I ended up having no actual backup of a validating at the beginning.  In short: Rescue and Recovery can be a tool very well for an IT expert. For the average user, there are much too many traps. Lenovo: Try to it you like-centered-design user instead of the user Board Chinese garbage, if in the future, you want to keep as «almost IBM» brand name For me, Lenovo - in this regard - is more "almost Chinese It-garbage".
