  • Scanner driver problems/communication HP Officejet 6310

Background: buy new pc in 2006 (XP Pro)... Bought Officejet 6310 shortly after.  Installation of the software for printing (on the cd) was perfect and as directed.  Computer HP P7 portable bought in 2011, software downloaded from the HP website, installation was still perfect and according to the guidelines.

This week, I upgraded the old pc from 2006 with new boards (re-used only the cases and the power supply).  Running Win 7 Pro 64-bit.  AIO_CDB_Net_Full_Win_WW_130_141 downloaded from HP, has begun to install.  Problem started when, during the installation process, I turned on the Officejet 6310 and plugged the USB cable as shown. The below screen appeared... not all devices have been installed.  He remained that way for several minutes... the photo below was my first indication something was wrong.

After waiting for about 3 minutes, it appeared.

Following the instructions, I unplugged and rebooted, uninstalled and reinstalled the software... I have downloaded and run the Print and Scan doctor... he could not solve the problem either ('Unable to communicate scanning pilot' was the last word of the doctor).  On my fifth attempt to re - install the software, I got this result.

I sat and waited, and waited, and the software concluded that she had properly installed, even if the photo above also indicates.  At this point, I can print it, but it takes forever and hesitates when printing as if very little data is done by the intermediary.  If I try to use the scanner via the control center, I get the message not found 'HP imaging device.  Also, sometimes, my computer not turn off unless I turn the printer off (the "Shutting down" message remains on the screen until the printer is turned off).

And this message was not present at the end of each attempt installation of the printer:

Then... I followed all the instructions (I think), changed USB ports, tried the print and scan doctor... I don't know what else to do.  Been working with it for a day and a half and I'm out of ideas.

    Someone at - it suggestions?

    [Edited 14/07/12]

One of my friends said that it might be that, since the printer is 6 years old, 64-bit operating system can cause problems and HP probably wouldn't need much resources, writing drivers for everything.  I hope that HP support for their products is better than that.  My Officejet 6310 is not ready to be retired!

    [Published 15/07/12]

Stop the presses!  I'm a little red-faced now... at some point I have disabled Windows Update (I do not remember doing that, but anyway...) I saw that by accident, turned back on and installed the printer software.  I noticed that Windows Update several files and installation of the driver software window indicated that everything was successful.  BUT... I still have a problem with the scanner, but it's a different error... See the image below.

I can print ok, I can copy ok, but I can't scan with the HP Solution Center or the physical button on the printer.  It is here where I am now.

If you have spent any time trying to understand the first problem out, I apologize for my lapse in not ensuring that Windows Update has been enabled.  If anyone has any ideas on the situation as it is, please respond here.  Thank you all for research.

I think I found the problem, although it seems so unlikely for me... I replaced the USB cable and installed the printer software and everything worked fine.  To prove that the cable was at fault, I close the printer down and installed the old cable... the State seemed yet, but when I launched a scan he loses communication before the scan is finished.  I turned off the printer and installed the USB cable replacement and performed the function of scan with no problems.  I repeated this scenario again with the same results... with the original cable (that came with the printer 6 years ago) I had communication errors at the beginning or after a scan.  Installing replacement cable took care of the problem every time.

How can a cable go bad?  I don't understand this.  In any case, it seems to be fixed now... thanks to all that looked and perhaps thought about my problem.  I guess I'll leave the message here for reference.

    Hello

The application of scanning HP for your printer is not compatible with Lion.

Please be sure to update the latest drivers by clicking the Apple icon, then click on software update and do not forget to install any available HP update.

After updating the drivers, you can scan using one of the following supported methods:

  • OfficeJet Pro 8000 duplex printing problem

I use this printer with my MacBook Air.  I have the duplex unit installed correctly in the printer.  The 'two-sided printing accessory (duplexer) HP is checked in the system preferences - Print & Scan - pilot.  That being said, I don't see an option for double-sided printing.  I go to the file menu and click on print.  I select Copies and Pages in the menu dropdown.  I think I should then see an option for double-sided printing.  The only options available are:

    -Layout

    -Color matching

    -Paper handling

    -Cover page

    -Paper Type/quality

    -Advance printing options

    -Feeding levels

I did something wrong in the Setup program, or is the procedure I use wrong?  How can I get the operation of duplex function?

This is the only printer that I have, so there is no confusion here.

    Thank you

Have you tried the layout in the menu drop down menu?

  • CRIO 9075 pilot to 9870 (use of the scan engine)

    Hello

I want to use a 9870 (rs232, 4-port serial interface) on a CRIO 9075.  I also want my labview project to run on the analytical engine. (running on Labview 2010 SP1)

I used this Setup several times using a CRIO-9073 very easily.

But now I can't find the correct driver for the CRIO-9075 game to make this work.

    Can someone help me?

The NI 9075 cRIO requires a minimum of LabVIEW 2011 to be supported if you use the real time module. I'm afraid to say you're stuck until you can get a newer version of LabVIEW. I think that's the reason why you are able to up your game to work on the 9073 but not the 9075.

  • Scanning for HP PhotoSmart 5514 all in a series of questions

Hi there, I got this printer as a gift today and all checking to make sure everything worked alrlight, I came across a problem. On the side of wireless printing side and everything else seems to work fine, except for scanning.

    Here's what happens:

    1. the printer tells me that it cannot connect to my PC (even if it is connected wireless).

    2. my PC does not load the HP scanning program, and as he tried to pass the main Actions "Scanner" does absolutely nothing.

    3. scan of the computer is enabled on a permit, he said the printer is connected and I can see the computer in the list under the printer, but then it tells me that it cannot connect.

    Here is what I tried:

1 restarted the computer to try to refresh the drivers.

    2. has tried to update the drivers.

    3. the program doctor help HP for the digitization of Ran, he simply told me that there is a driver problem and he could not remedy.

    4. uninstalled, rebooted, and then reinstalled the HP software that came with the printer.

None of this has worked so far and I have a printer that print but not scan. I hooked up wireless for my computer, I was able to portentially USB plug it, but I was trying to avoid that if possible. I'm pretty positive, there is a problem with the driver on my computer, but don't know what else to try. Any ideas to get this to work?

Managed to get this corrected my own actually. I ran the HP Scan Doctor again and realized that I could skip the pilot error and after that it ran on the rest of his Coachman he managed to solve the problem of scanner. Thanks for all the help on the forums.

  • Issue scan fingerprint with Win 7 and Satellite Pro A300

    SORRY, MODEL IS A300.

Bunk/upgrading Vista to Windows 7 Professional and we found the fingerprint reader does not.
Unable to remove program and custom accept the new installation of fingerprint reader or even of new fingerprints to be scanned. (Former Vista program works in background somehwere?)

Is the fingerprint reader, which was installed under Vista now not compatible with WIndows 7.
It seems to be still no upgrade or downloads for fingerprint drivers for Windows 7.

    Hi mate

To be honest, I doubt that Win 7 drivers would be published for this good old classic.
I mean the Satellite Pro A30 is an older series and even Vista drivers have not been released for this series of models
I searched on the European driver Toshiba page but I found only the W2k, Win XP drivers for this device

So if you want to use Win 7 on this laptop, then you need to collect the drivers of your own hands and it would be the same with the fingerprint reader. Maybe the pilot designed and released for other series would work.

It seems that Toshiba is in the version of the driver for different series you can take a look at the different series and might try the drivers.

Used utility problems and no help.  Works on laptop with 8.1 Windows 64-bit, but not this desktop computer.  Stange scan but it does not print on the desktop.

    Hi zock01,

    Thanks for letting me know.

I checked on our lab and the generic drivers are listed below for window 8 to add to see if this will allow you to print.

Go to the start screen, the type (menu tiles) in "Devices and printers", select settings, click devices and printers.
Click on add a printer in the upper part.

Select "the printer that I want isn't listed."
Click on 'add a local printer or network printer with manual settings.

    Click Next.
Select "use an existing port," select "USB" in the menu drop-down.
    Click Next.
Select "HP" in the column on the left and on the right, select 'Officejet Pro PCL3 class pilot.'

You can also try the "HP Photosmart PCL3 class driver" or "HP Deskjet PCL3 class pilot."

    Thank you.

  • OfficeJet j4680 State there is no scan option

My printer is correctly installed and the message scan is no. OPTIONS ANALYSIS

    Hi JZ,.

You can't have the 'base' installed printer.  For easy and full of scanning options, you need the 'full package', that is, the software feature complete for this printer.

If you can not get the software of full functionality for your operating system, you may be able to use Windows Fax and Scan.  It's primitive compared to other options, but at least it works.  The feature is available on Windows 7.

Be aware that sizes for the full feature software download can be very important (about 110 MB approximately 390 MB)-take this into account if you have a slow internet connection.

I have included below the instructions you need (and more):

    ====================================================================================

Install the printer driver / software

If your printer doesn't work anymore (and this isn't a hardware problem), it may be because of software or driver issues.  There are tools to help you diagnose the problem and help documents to guide you to success.

You might just want extra features for your printer, or need additional tools to help the scheduled maintenance.

In many cases, you can (re) install the full features software for your printer to improve its capabilities.  The HP Solution Center is an integral part of the FFS.  For e-print, you can e-print software.

If you have the CD that came with your printer, use it to install the printing software.  If you do not have the CD, or if the software on the CD is outdated, you can use the installation online tools.

(Re) install the driver software HP printer full-functionality or other basic software for your printer:

Drivers hardware order connected to the computer (wired or wireless).

Software control programs that interact with the user.

    Hi grammy2012,

Printers with lower and 14 driver versions have this feature.  With 20 versions or older printers are not pilots. If you have a new model, no doubt he has the version of the driver above 20 and the function is simply not in the software.

This means the automatic cropping several photos.

With 20 and older driver versions, it is possible to do this, but not automatically.

    1. place your multiple photos on the glass.

    2. scan in JPG

    3. Select the harvest in one of the photos.

    4. click on to add a page.

5 harvest in the second photo.

    6. If you have more than two photos on the glass, perform steps 3 and 4 until all the photos are on a 'page '.

    7. click on save button and assign a name, the photos will be all saved in separate files.

Thanks for posting your request, I'll be more than happy to help you

If I understand correctly the printer to scan does not work after the recent update of the Sierra,

Don't worry, even if the following document does not mention Sierra, the Apple article will guide you through the steps to scan through

    • Printers and Fax preferences in system preferences
    • Scanner / printer queue

The basics of the Mac: using a scanner

I also suggest to use the Apple Scan while you wait for the HP software update. You can use the link below to confirm that your printer is still compatible with your operating system: software of the printer and scanner for macOS Sierra, El Capitan, Yosemite, and the Mavericks.

  • HP Deskjet 1512: Error applying driver settings, then a problem prevented the scanned Document

I can't find any question about scanning on this product, I want to post a picture of my screen, but can't. This occurs when you try to scan anything. The first screen comes up with "Error applying settings to Driver" then then once the product has tried to sweep is the error message "a problem prevented the Document are analyzed. I had this product since almost a year and were only able to analyse once. I tried in vain to follow all the troubleshooting steps and nothing works. I'm starting to hate this printer. I uninstalled and reinstalled, restarted my computer and more after each uninstall and reinstall. I unplugged USB and power cords. This software/scanner driver sucks!

I do not usually bother with these sites, but since I seem to be the only person who knows the solution for application error settings driver with scanners I should share it. I went through three Microsoft technicians and they were at a loss. They usually end by saying that I have installed a bad iso image and need to download a new one and reinstall. But anywho the fix is... run your registry editor and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\StillImage and remove the key from the photo don't worry it will be recreated with the key parameters appropriate because the pilot he rewrites and there you go no scanner error more I have to add that I am on win 10 x 64 with a Canon mp280 printer , but this should apply to windows 7 and upwards.
