Equium A60 - 181: strange deformations on the cover

Hello.

I have an old p4 A60-181 for 8 months with screen 15 3.06 inches.
On the external plastic lid, I noticed a strange thing, starting to happen.
Looking forward and down on the cover above the left side about 2 inches to the bottom and 2 inch from the edge begins a discoloration of the blue cover and on a thorough inspection, it feels like it has distorted in an area about 2 inches in diameter.

I suspect that something hot in the electronics of display is originally a problem to the external case.
Not happy about this.
Someone else noted this?

Thank you
Paul

Hello Paul

If you think that there is something serious, in my opinion, you should contact the authorized Service partner and let check the device. One of my friends has the same unit and I was interested if it has the same problem, but everything is as usual.

Good bye

  • Equium A60-181 (PSA67E) - cannot find the display driver

Due to problems with some games I did experiments with other ATI drivers for my laptop.
It turns out that their support for Open GL is scandalously broken so I tried rolling back the drivers.
Unfortunately Windows doesn't let me do it because I need the original driver files so tried to download on the Toshiba support page.
Well although it seems that the Equium A60 - 181 aka PSA67E does not appear as a product more also any attempt to seek A60-181 or PSA67E displays empty hits Unlike Google or Msn.

What happens here? Please tell me Toshiba did not hold for this laptop isn't exactly new or old it is still worthy of driver / BIOS update support especially when needed.

  • Equium A60-181: how to manage the connection to the TV or monitor

    Hello

    I have an EA60-181

Basically I'm trying to look at something I have on my laptop on my TV, I have connected to correct blue port on the back on my laptop and plug the other half into the phone from my pc to my TV, the pc cable. Then I turned my tv on pc workstation, you press fn + f5 for lcd/tv and nothing. I just get a no signal going to my tv as it is said that he is looking.

I don't really know what happens someone please tell me what is happening.

    What is the resolution?

p.s. When you look at the section displayed on toshiba hwsetup that is set to lcd + analog RGB and on the Advanced tab on the control panel display screens Setup ati watch tv is not connected, even if the cable is connected someone help me?

    Thank you

    Wayne

    Hello Wayne

Sorry, but I didn t understand how you connected to your laptop to the TV and you hear with good blue port.

If you want to connect properly and the easiest way, you must use S-Video output port on the back of your laptop and connect it with an S-video cable to your TV (if TV has an S-video port). The S-video port on your TV should be enabled and using FN + F5 key combination that you should be able to get on television.

If the image is black and white, this means that S-video port on your TV is not properly enabled.

    Good bye

  • Equium A60-181: Win XP does not start successfully - the BSOD reboot

    Hello.

I have an Equium A60-181 which has an operating system problem.
Loads of XP logo at the beginning, when it happens to show the log on screen, it is a quick blue screen of death error, and it restarts.

I tried to go into safe mode, but it blocks on atisgkaf.sys.

Is that what I can do to save the operating system?

How can I start to diagnose if it's a hardware problem?

    Thank you, Lawrence

    Hello

The atisgkaf.sys file belongs to the graphics card driver.
But as Akuma has proposed, the Windows operating system does not load 3rd party in safe mode drivers.
This is why the ATI graphics card driver should not affect the start-up procedure.

However, this is only my personal hypothesis and believe me; nothing is impossible, so a hardware problem might be possible.

    But just a question;
Have you tried to reinstall the OS?
The installation process goes smoothly through the unique installation steps?

I think that the new installation of the operating system is a good idea to find out if it is a hardware or software problem.
    Maybe you should try it

  • Equium A60 - 181 Win XP: card incorrect RLAN - icon notification taskbar

    Hello world

Ive took my Equium A60-181 for quite a while now and its been fairly reliable, sound always connected via WiFi to my home network.

Very recently, however, the icon in the tray system for network connectivity was incorrect. He said always I am not connected to the network... but I am, because the internet works and I can still access the network drive that is located on another computer on the network and network printers.

Why is the system status bar tells me that I am not connected to the network when I am?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    And Happy New Year.

    Rhys James

    Hello

I presume that you have assigned the LAN TCP/IP address and gateway manually parameters and these parameters are not set to automatic. Am I wrong?

The same message appeared to me. I connected my laptop to the other PC and changed the TCP/IP address settings.
It was the reason of this message in the taskbar.

All simply set it to auto again and you will get rid of this annoying message.

    Best regards

  • Need battery for Equium A60-181

I'm after a new battery for my notebook equium a60-181.
The mounted battery is a PA3384U-1BRS.
I looked on the toshiba web site and cannot find this model.
As he was replaced by another model, if yes what a number of battery should I look for.

Hello, my friend. I see you are new in the forum. Welcome ;)

    Now to your question:
You can order all the compatible parts and ASP support in your country. I think that guys order it directly from the Toshiba.
Anyway, the European Toshiba site contains a beautiful site on the options and accessories.
You will find lots of devices and parts which are included in the different categories and are compatible with Toshiba laptops.

  • Equium A60 - 181 und external monitor

Hi I have an Equium A60-181 with connected Ati graphics card in and monitor external 19 "CRT. While the monitor seems to work I ran into a few problems. By turning on the monitor XP prompted me to install drivers I assume that they are for the monitor in question sheet etc.

It seems in any case that I'm unable to change the resolution or refresh rate of the screen is set to 1024 x 768 @ 60 Hz. I changed the display properties and selected reverse, but when I OK/apply the cursor goes back to 1024 x 768 and the refresh rate is 60 Hz - huh?
I restarted XP and still have this problem I even Device Manager check for yellow markers so now I'm at loss here is a common problem with Ati?

    Any recommendations would be appreciated.

    see you soon,

    Richard S.

    Hi Richard

I'm not 100% sure but I think that the resolution of 1024 x 768 max for external (second) monitor is restriction of graphics card. Is this the situation even if you use an external monitor just without screen laptop (FN + F5)?

  • Swapping screens: Equium A60-181 > Equium A60-199

    Hello

I'm trying to fix a laptop Equium EA60-199 with a LCD of bust. (Just to save it from the landfill because it works fine also.)
I found and bought an Equium screen on eBay (the whole "cover", not just the bit in the middle), which apparently came from a model of EA60-181.
It looked pretty similar to mine and is also 15 "so I thought I'd be a chance and it was worth risking it.

When I received it today I started taking the lid broke my 199 (off the keyboard and by unscrewing the hinges) - there are two points where the screen connects the main unit: a white rectangular plug caps on a Board and a separate black wire that connects to another point is close (what is Earth?).
However, the replacement of 181 I've got, is there an extra couple of wires (one black and one white) coming out of the lower part of the screen of the hinge.
Does anyone know what that here are to - probably they are included in the big white plug on the 199 and 181 screen would not work unless they were connected?

I'm starting to think that maybe a better option is to take the LCD screen on the cover and exchange the most (using one of the howtos I found on the internet) as I assume the connections to this end are pretty standard. However, I'm not very experienced messing around inside computers for all the tips are welcome!
Really nothing to lose the computer's been written off by its owner in any case - just thought it would be nice to rehabilitate if possible!

Thanks a lot for your help.
    Tom

HM, that only black and white cable sounds like a wireless antenna. To check if this is the case, you should check if on the end of this one thread an orange (or something like) a square is delivered which is then an antenna and should be all over the top of the lcd housing.

If you're lucky, make a picture about it, place it somewhere on a free imagehoster and post the link here, then maybe I can tell you with certainty what could be exactly the wire.

    See you soon

  • System failure-Equium A60 won't boot to the top

    Hey guys & gals
for the first time using this site and need some advice!

    I have a toshiba laptop
    "equium a60 model PSA67E-No.-00200D8J.

Ive had problems with my start up! I get an error message saying: I have a missing driver!

    read the MSG error-"system32\drivers\ntfs.sys".

    Also get message...

"windows was not start because the following file is missing or damaged:
    system32\DRIVERS\isapnp.sys ".

Unfortunately I can't find my original CD boot disk & I don't want to lose the files saved... not too good sense when it comes to problems with this...

If anyone can give some advice please, it drives me crazy! Laughing out loud

    Alan.

    Heyho,

looks like you're in big trouble. I think the only chance to backup your files is to get some linux live CD (knoppix, ubuntu and mandrake) and an external hard drive to copy the files to your hard drive internal to external hard drive attached.

The best way would be to ask a technician or a guy who is VERY familiar with computers to backup your data.

After that you need to reinstall your operating system but without the recovery CD, you are out of luck. Then you don't have a lot of options.
One of these options is to look for startup disk or how to call it: "restore CD". If it is not available you should contact an authorized local dealer servicepartner toshiba and get a new recovery disk. The last option is to buy a Windows XP or to ask someone (family, friends, the one who) for a Windows XP to install.

  • Equium A60-152: how to change the IRQ?

    Hello!

I have an interface audio firewire (Edirol FA-101), who is having a few problems and I think it's to with an IRQ conflict on my laptop Equium A60-152.
When I looked in the Device Manager, I noticed that my firewire host shares IRQ 19 with several other devices (USB, Cardbus etc.).
Is it possible that I can move my firewire host so that it runs on a separate IRQ of these other devices?

I noticed that several numbers are not in use (18, 20, 9-11, 4-7), maybe one of them would be appropriate? Whenever I try to change the IRQ of a device in Device Manager, it is marked as "automatic settings" and I can't change that.

Thanks for any help you can give me!

    Phil

    Hello

Usually it s not is not necessary and not advisable to change the IRQS manually.
The operating system controls all the settings and I guess that all the parameters of this are ok.
Write you about some problems, but you don t say what s wrong.

However, it is a 3rd party material and in my opinion, you will have more chance to solve the problem if you contact the manufacture of equipment support.

    Good luck.

  • Equium A60 does not start after the BIOS update

I have an Equium A60. After being caught with some very nasty malware and Trojan horse, I had the disiccion to reformat the machine and reinstall the OS.

Everything goes well until I updated the bios. Machine crashed and now I can't restart. Press the power button and the machine will start for 3-4 seconds and then stops.

I know it of because of the bios and want to know if there is anything that I can reset this back to the original settings?

Thanks in advance for your help

    Hello

Unfortunately, you can not solve a BIOS is broken down by yourself. At the machine really / judgment of accident during the update process? If Yes, then your machine has disappeared and the only chance to bring back to life is to ask an authorized service partner to help you.
Maybe they have a software to solve these problems. You should try and contact the nearest ASP in your country:

  • Equium A60 BIOS update: what is the Boot Mode?

Due to problems with my graphics ATI I have to do a BIOS update. To do my computer (Equium A60 PSA67E) apparently needs to be in mode 'start-up', NOT 'repeat mode '. In a previously sent forum somebody said the computer just "should be turned off" but I'm still not sure of how go to this mode. Is it just a case to go to the start menu, click on shut down the computer and turn off the computer again? But how do you know when it is in mode 'start '?
Question: How do in boot mode? (I tried the update in 'safe' mode and it does not work)

    Hello

Boot mode is meaning stop the laptop (BONE).
It is important that the laptop is not in stand mode or hibernation mode.
You just simply close the unit. That s all ;)

  • Equium A60: A new version of the display driver is not available?

I have the satellite a60, the drivers available on the official download page for Toshiba are since 2004.

Seriously, who can not be the latest version available.

I think that this may be the cause of a certain display problems that I'm facing with this machine.

    Hello

Many different series laptop is delivered with the same graphic card.
It of possible that the latest graphic driver have been placed in the different laptop computer category. I recommend checking out the different series of the same graphics card which is used in your Equium and maybe you will find the most recent version of the driver.

    Hi Notino,

It sounds as if your CMOS chip has a problem, maybe the CMOS battery has failed and the BIOS settings are lost.

I suggest that you only contact your ASP closest to get your phone checked.
