Equium A60 will not start - get a beep code

Hello

This laptop has problems with ATI (even those included on the recovery disk) display drivers. He created a blue screen on a dll file.

After reading around, I found that it was recommended to upgrade the bios, after going to the appropriate section of the Web site, I downloaded the flash tool from windows for the laptop bios.

I ran and it opened, returned to the laptop and the screen is blank, a blue ring around the power button is on, but no display.

I left it for a period of time see if it would to restart or something, but nothing has happened, it would not be the button turn off so I unplugged the power and removed the battery.

To again turn on the laptop, it only stays on for about 3 seconds then turns off again.
I get the beep code: short break, Long, short break, beep, beep beep, then it turns off.
The caps lock and numlock keys are turned on.
The DVD drive light blinks.

But other than that, no display etc.
Ive tried the battery leaving aside for awhile.

Anyone have any ideas why flash bios toshiba own this would cause? Also what can I do about it? in any case to recover the bios etc via a recovery mode?

Thanks in advance.

Hello

Well, unfortunately for me it looks like a hardware failure.
Maybe the motherboard is broken.
These problems may occur if you use a bad BIOS or the incorrect BIOS update procedure.

Please check this document FAQ How to upgrade the BIOS:
IOS http://eu.Computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/FAQ.jsp?z=234&service=eu&from=faq_selection&CFID=B & FID = TRO0000000b07

Unfortunately if there is something wrong with the hardware you should ask Toshiba service for assistance.

  • Equium A60 will not start

Hi, I am despartely needing help with my A60 equium that won't start. When you turn the button lights up, fan and starting, but then in a few seconds the cutting power. I tried different sources of energy, also just by using ac power and battery just all produce the same results. I had installed a memory chip a few months back and thought it might be that, but when I took it off the laptop has always been the problem.

Is there that anyone may be able to help me with this problem? Thank you

    TAF

    Hi Michael,

The first thing that happens when your, press on the power button on your laptop, it's that the CMOS chip (which contains your BIOS) through a pre-deignated POST (Power On Self Test) process that verifies the functions of the material of base components after what the BIOS will be charged which will lead in turn to the operating system itself being started.

If a failure or a problem occurs during POST and then power on the sequence stops (usually after a series of beeps are emitted that are coded to help the diagnostic process. The actual beep codes are specific to the manufacturer of the CMOS/BIOS chip.

If you receive no all audible sounds, then it is likely that the problem is very early in the POST process and may indicate a problem with your main card or your electronic internal.

You can try to remove and and reinstall devices such as RAM memory modules, hard drive, optical drive, etc to see if this corrects the situation, but if not then you will need to take the device to authorized, Service partner who has the diagnostic equipment needed to perform accurate control.

  • Equium L10 will not start

Please help - my Equium L10 will not start.

Power supply is OK. When the power is connected the orange battery light comes on. I press the power button the green power light turns on momentarily (literally a Flash), then both the Green and orange lights out with orange alone returning it on about 2 seconds later.

Else does nothing - no fan activity, no hard disk, no activity of the screen activity, no other light - you get the picture!

    I tried the following:
Removed battery and tried to start with AC power not only - no joy
Removed AC power and I tried booting with battery only - no joy
Barrette of RAM removed and reinstall - no joy

Does anyone have ideas before considering a tech? Suggestions (with the exception where to paste!) would be welcome.

Hmm .He doesn't sound good. For me, it looks like a motherboard problem. It is maybe something wrong with electronic power to the Board of Directors of s. But not for sure.

What you can do is to remove the battery and unplug the power adapter for a while.
Wait about 20 minutes and connect the battery and adapter for the laptop. Then try turning on the laptop computer.
If this does not help I recommend contact the ASP technician, because I don t think you will be able to know what's exactly wrong.

So I hope that the technician can find the fault quickly and can solve this problem.

  • Equium A60 will not burn DVD - Mat * a replacement UJ-820 s?

    Hello

My toshiba equium a60 will no more DVD burn.
Can anyone help? Or I need a replacement dvd writer? Cheers ron

    > I need a replacement dvd burner
It possible s that CD/DVD drive failure and that only the new would be useful.

But first, you should try some common solution opportunities.

-Try using different media DVD because not all CD/DVD are compatible!
-Try to burn the DVD with another burning software (for example Nero Burning ROM)
-Remove the drive from Device Manager CD/DVD and restart the laptop. After restarting again the OS should install the drive again.
-Remove the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters completely from the following registry key values:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

If all of the procedures of this will be not useful so the replacement drive would probably be necessary.

My Equium A300D does not start. It just displays 'the file is possibly corrupt. The file header checksum does not match the checksum calculated. Why? What can I do? I have only a few months.

Have you installed lately new RAM? Its important to the RAM test before use. Or the standard RAM is possibly defective.

Go to www.memtest.org and run Memtest for a few passes (it is a bootable CD).

The file system may be damaged, try running CHKDSK from the Recovery Console. http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/314058

The HARD drive could be faulty, Hitachi DFT is a good HARD drive tester. Run the test advanced to search for bad sectors.

    Thanks much for any help.

    Hello!

In my view, this could be a problem with the drive HARD or Windows.

First of all, I would like to check the HARD disk:
    http://www.HitachiGST.com/HDD/support/download.htm#DFT
With the Drive Fitness Test, you can test your HARD drive. Download the CD image, burn it to a CD and boot from it. You can then the HARD drive.
On the same site is a user's guide if you want to know more.

If the HARD drive has no error I would reinstall Windows with the recovery because you disk as no access in safe mode.

  • Equium A60 does not start after the BIOS update

I have an Equium A60. After being caught with some very nasty malware and Trojan horse, I had the disiccion to reformat the machine and reinstall the OS.

Everything goes well until I updated the bios. Machine crashed and now I can't restart. Press the power button and the machine will start for 3-4 seconds and then stops.

I know it of because of the bios and want to know if there is anything that I can reset this back to the original settings?

Thanks in advance for your help

    Hello

Unfortunately, you can not solve a BIOS is broken down by yourself. At the machine really / judgment of accident during the update process? If Yes, then your machine has disappeared and the only chance to bring back to life is to ask an authorized service partner to help you.
Maybe they have a software to solve these problems. You should try and contact the nearest ASP in your country:

  • Equium A60 will not work without battery

    Help!

My A60 will work on a full battery but when I put the power cord in it, it still works on the battery even when he says he gets the sorce of power and count the percentage until he spends.

Then I let it charge a big short TI. I got a new battery still, a unit of power too much and it does as an update of the bios.

It's like the charger is there for the battery.

I agree with Richard. Perhaps is there some problem with electronic supply power. I think that the technicians can run test or some diagnostic programs to verify if really power electronics is damaged.

Generally electronic power should recognize the power running and automatically turn off battery power and start charging the battery.

  • After RAM upgrade my A60 will not start

Today I attemed to install new RAM in my A60. It didn't go very well and when he was in and I tried to start the computer, it would have started with amd before turning off again a few seconds later.

So I took the new RAM and tried to start it and it was fine. I then put the new ram back in and had the same problem, so he pulled out again, but once again with the new RAM it wouldn't start.

How can I get to do it again?

    Hello

Of course, you use the incompatible module and because of this unit do not start correctly. Please, send it back and order form.

  • My computer will not start, getting warning that the iertutil.dll is missing for Internet Explorer

Anyone know how to fix this problem? I get a warning saying that the iertutil.dll file is missing for internet explore. When I start my computer, all I get is my screensaver with no office. The only way I can continue any part of my computer is to go to alt del to get to the control task manager.

Do you mean you see a message like this:

Explorer.EXE - unable to locate component
This application has failed to start because iertutil.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

That file should never be missed and it takes an extra effort to remove it on purpose because there are one of 3498 files who cares about Protection of file Windows (WFP).

If explorer.exe is not running, all you will see is your screen background image.

The file is in this folder (assuming that XP is installed on your C drive):

    c:\Windows\System32

Since you can get into the Task Manager do the following:

Since the Task Manager, click file, new task (run...) and then click Browse and navigate to this folder:

    c:\Windows\System32\dllcache

If you are unable to find or do not see the dllcache folder, because your system is not configured to display hidden files and folders, simply type the path to the folder name in the "Open:" box

    c:\Windows\System32\dllcache

Make sure the "Files of type" box is set to show all files (or you will not see any), and then click OK to display all files.

Locate copy the iertutil.dll file backup in the folder c:\windows\system32\dllcache, made a right click and copy and go back up a folder c:\windows\system32, right-click in an empty area and paste the file there.  Answered in the affirmative if invited to replace the existing file.

If you can't find the file in the dllcache folder (should be), depending on your installation, there may be a copy of the file on your system in this folder:

    c:\windows\ServicePackFiles\i386

If you find there, copy the file missing from there and paste it where it belongs

It is possible that some malicious software or your antivirus/antimalware indeterminate quarantined (actually deleted) the right file and the backup copy of which must be in the dllcache folder.

In this case, you can download a copy of my SkyDrive and use networks disks (on foot) to bring it to the system afflicted on a USB key or a floppy disk.

You may be able to 'Run' iexplore.exe in the Task Manager to get on the Internet and just download it.

I downloaded a copy of XP Pro SP3 file you need on my SkyDrive (everyone has a SkyDrive for file sharing).

You can download it and when you do, place a copy of the file in these two folders (assuming that Windows is installed on your C drive):

    c:\Windows\System32
c:\Windows\System32\dllcache (this is where XP keeps backups of important files).

Here is the link to my SkyDrive and you can get the file you need here:

    http://CID-6a7e789cab1d6f39.SkyDrive.live.com/redir.aspx?RESID=6A7E789CAB1D6F39! 311

When you see the files available for download, you will not see the extension of file (.exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys, etc), but when download you them they will have the right extension.

When you download the file (especially if you use Internet Explorer), when you get a chance to save the file, it cannot save the file with an extension (for example, .exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys) then you will need to manually add the extension appropriate to the file when you download the file before you save it.

You can download the file without the extension, and then rename the file to add the appropriate extension.  You do not want to use a file called rundll32 when the name of the file should really be called rundll32.exe (if the downloaded file has no extension, you will need to change the name of the file to add the appropriate extension to make it work.

You then put the downloaded files in the correct folders on your system.

That may not solve all your problems, but at least you will be spending this part and we can then fix the rest.

Since it is all very suspicious to meI would follow with this:

Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs at:
    Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/
They can be uninstalled later if you wish.
Restart your computer and solve the outstanding issues.

My laptop L20 primer not. A black screen appears "apologize for the inconvenience, but windows did not start successfully.

Then tells me to highlight a choice of starting up, but when I choose, it moves quickly on a blue screen that I cannot read, then goes back to the same black screen.

Help! It feels like Groundhog Day.
    Cannot make it work.

    Hi Donna,.

More simple you take it out of this situation is to reinstall your operating system of the recovey CDs. Unfortunately this won't replace your data (unless you have partioned your hard drive and store your data on a second partition).

This problem is usually caused by a missing or corrupt system files that prevent Windows from loading. Of course, you can try to recover the situation by using the since the original Microsoft Installation CD Recovery Console if you have one.

It is also possible that the failure is due to a defective hard drive but it will become apparent when you try to re - install.

    Kind regards

  • Satellite Pro A60 will not start up CD/DVD

I have the above and it does not start from cd/dvd. I know that the cd/dvd is bootable and works well. I can boot from the floppy drive and access the cd/dvd without problem, but that dose not allow me to load windows XP. If this is not the drive or the cd/dvd. So what is the problem?

    Hello

How did you try to boot from the CD drive?
Have you tried to press the C key immediately after starting the laptop?

Alternatively, you can press F12. The start menu should appear and you should be able to choose the drive as a boot device.

  • T60 will not boot receive the beep code 1-3-4-3 any suggestions on what this might be?

    Hi guys,.

My T60, does not start all of a sudden. I can't access the BIOS. I received the following beep sequence: 1-3-4-3.

I looked around and got as a message for phoenix BIOS beep code 'Test 512 K base memory '. Anyone has an explanation, and I should do or change?

Thanks a lot for your support!

    Antoine

I don't have one of them, but if it's a mistake of memory, the best way to test is to substitute known good memory. If you have two SODIMM modules installed, remove them and install one at the time and the test.

Sometimes remove and reset of memory are sufficient to solve the problem.

If this does not help, a good 'generic' method that I use on all laptops with a no boot situation is to remove all the drives and cards, then see if it will boot to the BIOS, or post at all. I've seen poor readers force a system not to post, so remove everything that is not required will be an easy way to identify the cause. Usually, if it will not always display, you'll have a system board failure.
