Erratic display

Last summer, in what happens to a heat wave in Seattle, my HP Mini 110 developed the habit fun to show display problems (in fact, it seems that the vertical sync is bad: I see several short images based on what the screen is supposed to look like) but only when the screen is at certain angles. It's true, I can "fix it" stirring the screen a bit, until he settled and fly straight. This, of course, is an open invitation to the cable break, if it is the cable that is the problem.

This could be anything from the video adapter/chip for the Billboard for the cable that connects no doubt. However, I never saw him with an external monitor, is probably not the video adapter/chip. It could be the display panel, but I think would be the cable.

Someone can confirm that cables screen HP Mini, running, probably, between the body of the netbook and the display panel, actually exist? And, if so, whether they are known to have a tendency to fray after awhile. I bought this unit in October 2010, so he's seen some use.

Oh, if it is likely to be a cable, someone at - it anyway much is likely to cost to pay someone to fix it?

Yes, the cable is a replaceable part.

Here is the Manual:

See page 64 for the replacement of the entire screen. Unfortunately, it's a big enough job. I hate working on Netbooks, because they are so fragile and easy to break. So do most of the technicians. You can expect to pay $75-150 more parts to replace the display cable. After all, that he may or may not be the problem. The screen may go wrong at the place where the cable plugs and it is almost impossible to say that a bad cable.

    Hello

If Time Machine won't backup but manual copy-and - paste the same drop-off still works? I don't know if I understand this part. If manual copy still works, I have the following question/request for you: what happens when you make a Time Machine backup on an external DRIVE connected via USB drive?

  • Erratic recognition of monitor HDMI in AO756 for external display on a monitor Acer X233H

I have a laptop 756-2887 Aspire One that I'm trying to connect to an external monitor with a monitor Acer X233H using HDMI.  Sometimes it connects without effort and I am able to set up a beautiful double external screen to the laptop using the external analog and HDMI display.

But sometimes the HDMI display goes on a cycle where it recognized and then down and then is recognized again and it happens over and over again.  In this cycle, a never displays on the monitor.

I tried to turn on/off things and I can't recognize a pattern that allows to connect me with reliability the HDMI monitor.  The monitor works fine with my desktop and I can plug HDMI with DVI connection show desktop.  The monitor detects a HDMI connection and gives me the computer screen, unless it goes into the cycle of decline.

Using the Fn keys to change display options did not help either.  Connect an external analog never present the same problem.

    Here is what happened.

I remembered that during the first time that I managed to successfully install the external HDMI monitor was when I got another second monitor installed as the external VGA monitor.  My hope was therefore a plan of double external monitor to my laptop and I was very impressed that this was possible.

So I tried to go back to the other external VGA monitor an old HP f70 and it worked!  I was able to correctly connect the HDMI monitor and the f70 to the laptop.  The VGA monitor who did cooperate with the HDMI is Samsung SyncMaster 931 b.  I had also used this Samsung to connect to a DVI port on a desktop computer, and he had therefore two connected cables, DVI and a VGA of the notebook.  I tried to unplug the DVI cable and connecting the VGA and HDMI monitor to the laptop and it worked.  The HDMI monitor display.

I went to Samsung and got the drivers for this monitor and I find that after installing the drivers, you have the option to install a digital display or analog monitor.  As I was going to just to use the VGA connection, I chose analog.  After you have installed the driver for the Samsung, I was able to plug both the cable DVI and VGA cable on the Samsung and still be able to display on the monitor HDMI.

The solution was to install the drivers for the analog port of the Samsung monitor.  Who would have done it.  I guess I should have suspected the two cables coming from the Samsung monitor could have done things.

JackE, thanks for keeping me with your encouraging messages.

  • Display photos in erratic Indesign

Mac G5, OS 10.5.6 1 GB of Ram (I know, too littleit is not enough), dual 2.7 GHz proc.

I have never, in 4 years to use InDesign NEVER proven this prob, but since yesterday, I noticed that brought PhotoshopCS3 photos for printing (150 dpi) newspaper are wrong pixelated(sp?). By default in InDesign, each doc for me opens way pixelated until what I click on the view overprinting, but even after I do that the photo remains in what looks like a version low resolution.

The original photos were 300 DPI and many more large physical dimensions. In Photoshop, I have reduced their size and resolution through the dialog box Image size. Orig PIC: 15 "X 24", 240dpi (60MO). New size: 150 dpi and 5 "X 7.5" (2.4 MB).

In InDesign, I went to view-> display performance-> high quality with no result display. I restarted the CPU and it worked fine for about 10 minutes then the problem comes back. I even "uninstalled" and reinstalled InDesign without success. Reset the Prefs. The quality of the resolution's going again between bad and good. When the photos appear good, they print well and vice versa. I also changed in overlay mode to remove the lines around text boxes, etc. The catalogue, dialog, I made sure that in the data graphics-> Send > all is selected. I made View-> display performance-> display object level settings allow.

As I said, it just started yesterday after 4 years of use. There has been no other period of changes to the computer in a month. THIS CURIOUS not to mention a major problem! Is the operating system must be reinstalled?

With the image selected, go to object > display settings > use display settings

    See if that helps.

  • JDeveloper 10.1.3.4 af:table displays the number of rows of erratically

    For the experienced:

There are several pages in the web application I developed using JDeveloper 10.1.3.4, and it allows the user to navigate between the pages back. A page displays the selected rows of a database table, using the af:table component.

To display all the rows returned by the query in the underlying object in the view, I put the Rows of the af attribute: table to 0. However, rather than show lines as expected, the currently displayed lines are.

    1. when the user connects and starts a new session and accessing this page for the first time, the table on this page shows all lines (with the database I check the problem now, ago total 31 lines selected in the database table and all 31 lines are displayed).
2 but if you leave this page, then come back, it shows only 10 lines and the top and bottom of the table actually appear dimmed (i.e., not in use) links "previous" and "next," which did not appear when you went to this page for the first time in the session. And there is simply no way to see other 21 pages.

I thought that the attribute can be defined as lines =-1 and tried. But - 1 is not accepted. So I tried to place the lines = 25 and ran the application. His behavior is as follows:

    1. the first time in a session you navigate to the page, it works as you would expect with the lines = adjustment 25.
    2. When you leave the page and return, it shows the lines 22-31 and lets you click to display 'previous 21. However, if you click on this link, instead of display lines 1-21, it displays lines 1 to 25 and from there, works as you would expect with the lines = adjustment 25.
3 leave the page and come back, it shows the lines 21-31 and displays the 'previous 20' link. A click on it and you do not see lines 1 to 20, but lines 1-25. Again, from there, it works as you would expect with the lines = 25 setting, until you leave the page.

What could be wrong? And is there a solution to this problem?

Thanks a lot for your help!

  • I had an erratic cursor.

I had an erratic cursor.  My battery has 265 cycles and 'normal '.  I tried your ideas and I thank very you much.  Right now everything is OK.  I didn't acting OK for a week yet and not even for a day.

My sister sent me a spam, after that she complained to me that his computer Microsoft OS has been reinstalled.  She only told me she thinks that something came in an email that I sent a few years ago!  Of course, that sounds nuts to me.  But my filters spam because of its using its address, its spam e-mail, passed.  I also received emails with his name and a strange address (not his own.)

So, the problem started after that.

Yet, I worry that it could be the battery.  My question is if the system says 'normal' what it means that the battery is any swelling?

I used a USB mouse when the cursor has gone nuts.

In addition, the level of humidity in the House was very high due to replace a hose where water has permeated interior walls, and more, wet weather and open windows, the water in the basement.  Dehumidifier would be turned off and not drain.

So, I hope that the problems are the following: 1 high, humidity 2 keep the Macbook Pro 2012 procession connected permanently, but for one night surrendered the battery has been used up to almost empty this last week, 3 new OS could help.

That you and I can say, after two days of fiddling, I even downloaded Beta Sierra and ATT McAfee.  My lost, just for this computer, Airport utility has lost access to my Time machine backups.  But, I'm back and used immediately before the OS is loaded.

Of course, it's funny to be part blamed for a computer problem of an older sister, then to have one on a computer that is a problem that is practically free!  My Macbook is amazing, and I hope that it continues to be.

The price tag of $200 on a new battery is nuts.  I was happy to discover that my display problem was so common as to be a free repair.  This was a few years back.  I did get a repair free, although two things told to me in time, free and non-free.  A battery with 265 cycles sounds and swelling sounds like a foul, but if all goes well, it is also good that the information system says it is.

Please advise me on the issue of whether the information system will be accurate as to a battery which is a failure in this way!

Here is the article from Apple support for trackpad issues:

    https://support.Apple.com/en-us/HT203171

What about a battery in full expansion, the ONLY way you can check who is opening the MBP and Visual inspection of the battery.  The State says 'normal' is irrelevant.  Should it be expanded, it must be released immediately and replaced before more expansion damages the MBP.

  • The satellite M60 display problems

    Hello

I bought a satellite M60 a month ago, and since then, I've been strugling trying to solve a problem that has to do with the display (ATI 700 X mobility).
When I play some games (the dawn of war, Unreal tournament...) the computer freezes completely, I actually have to force stop it to restart.
Another problem, that I have seen is with Mixmeister Pro 6, the video playback is erratic, it is as if the computer is unable to handle any overload.

I tried the upgrade of drivers, nothing works, then I installed the third party Omega drivers, but once again, nothing to do.

Since the purchase of the M60, I had to correct problems of Wirless and PCMCIA card through driver updates, but there is nothing that I'm be able to do to resolve this display problem.

I am quite convinced it's a driver issue, but then again, nothing is certain.

If anyone can help me please I'm getting desperate.

    Hello

Well, it's not easy to say why it happens but one of my friends has sometimes even appearance but on another unit. If he plays a high-performance games unity cling.
In my view, this could be a heating problem. Playing games is hard work for the laptop, because all parts (bars of memory, processor, graphics card, etc.) work with max performance and produce a lot of heat. Most laptops are not developed for this.

However, you should always use the graphics driver from Toshiba. I found the latest version of 15/07/05. It is a display 8.121.050.322A driver. In addition, you must install latest DirectX. I think that it s a 9.1. Check whether the fixes for these games are available.

Second, if video playback is erratic, it seems that the OS is fully committed.
In this case, you should check the processes that run in the background of the operating system.
In addition, try to defragment the HARD disk

  • Flash Canon 600 EX - Speedite RT - flash using testfire erratic power

    Hello

For a photography assignment, I had to use an off-camera flash (using the testfire) to capture the different poses of a subject during a long exposure.

However, by pressing the button testfire produced variable results:

    1. the subject was reasonably informed.

    2. the power of the Flash was weak, leading to a very underexposed subject

    3. the test button would not fire at all.

Now, the obvious cause of this erratic behavior would be batteries to be replaced. However battery replacement (using brand batteries good long life) does not solve the problem.

If someone else has countered this problem and if so, is there a solution?

    Kind regards

W, which has no such assignment

When you trigger the test button, the amount of energy it will draw depend on the mode and the settings of the flash.

Mode you are using (manual or E - TTL) and if manual, what power level you have set (for example 1/1 = full, but there is also a 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, etc.)

If give you him a burst of full power in manual mode, you have to wait for the flash to recycle the capacitors before it is ready to fire again.  The capacitors are a bit like rechargeable batteries except for the rate at which you can drain a battery is somewhat limited and a capacitor can pour out his incredibly fast energy.  How flash actually works is to have the batteries to recharge the capacitors until it has enough fire power, and then the power of the flash capacitors (because they can send a power tip to the strobe light).

Most people tend to use E-TTL/E-TTL II mode - or - they use it in manual mode (M).  But there are other modes.

If you want to manually control the flash for your situation, then press the "Mode" button repeatedly until you see the "M", displayed in the upper left corner of the LCD screen (now you are in "Manual" mode and the flash will always fire at the same power level in E - TTL mode, it will try to automatically detect the amount of energy uses and many things can give you varying results because frankly) You asked the flash to automatically detect and vary the power level).

Manual mode is only half the fun... now press the soft key under the LCD panel around the "+/-" and allows you to control the power level.  By default it will pull at full power (1/1).  But you can now turn the wheel to reduce the power level (and you probably want to reduce the power level because 1/1 is a lot of power.)   For example... maybe 1/8 power would be more reasonable... or maybe 1/4 power.

But the other reason to use the manual mode is once you set the power level, it will ALWAYS trigger with the same amount of power (until you change.)

Remember that when you use the manual flash, flash has a 'falling' effect that causes the light seems less intense if the flash is farther or closer to the object.  This is what we call the 'inverse rule of the square law' and it's a law of Physics (not do around him - sorry.)  This means that if you want your subject to get uniform illumination so not only you must use the "manual" mode and set it to a specific for every time... power level but the flash itself must be at the same distance from the subject (if the subject moves... then you need to Flash for the maintenance of this uniform for each shot distance.)

  • How can I get my display what she looked like until I got it home?

After receiving my computer once a virus has been erraticated, I noticed that the display is not as cool as before search.  The fonts look very basic.

You format your hard drive? If so check for display drivers. To search for display drivers: click Start-> settings-> Control Panel-> system-> hardware-> Device Manager. If you see a yellow exclamation next to the screen, you will need to update your display drivers. On the other

Click Start-> settings-> Control Panel-> display... Select the settings tab and move the slider on screen resolution 1024 * 768 or more, then click on apply, wait and see the screen if all ok, then click Yes.

It is a HP Envy 15 starting from 2014, the new model (?) with the intel i7, SSD and GTX850. Don't remember the name of the actual product, sorry...

In any case, since last night, whenever I plug in the adapter there is a humming noise 'loud', gets hotter before (I think) and the trackpad behaves erratically.

Read somewhere that it could be a grounding problem?

    So, what to do?

  • erratic uncontrollable movement on the monitor screen

The erratic movement, as if everything on the screen moves vertically or rolling. It takes 15-20 minutes, then returns to normal. Meanwhile I can nothing except try to close the screen or shut down the computer. This happens several times during the day.

    Hi Sandra,.

Here are a few things that you try.

    1. make sure that the wires to the screen of the central unit are connected correctly. (If you are using a desktop computer)

2 start the computer in safe mode and try to correct the blink rate.

    Safe mode: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows7/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

    Correct monitor flicker rate: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows7/correct-monitor-flicker-refresh-rate

    3. If the problem persists, try to uninstall and reinstall the adpaters screen.

    a. click Start , and then type DEVMGMT. SMC in the startup search box and press ENTER.
    b. click the forward arrow of graphics cards, make a right click on the video driver , and then click Uninstall.
    c. you may be prompted to uninstall the driver software, please insert a check mark to have the driver is completely removed from the system.
    d. restart the computer.

Windows will automatically try to install the video drivers. If this isn't the case, please visit the computer manufacturer to download the latest display drivers.

    4. try to run a full scan on the computer to ensure that it is virus-free.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

Just to check if the monitor is defective:

Press the menu button on the screen and bring up the onscreen menu. If this menu moves then the problem may be with the monitor.

Hope this information is useful. If you have any questions, please let us know.

  • Display external URLS and CERT

    Hello

Looking just for clarification on some things. This isn't how my environment is set up today, but that's how I intend to make

    Display the connection servers:

    viewconn1.mydomain.com - 192.168.200.10

    viewconn2.mydomain.com (replica) - 192.168.200.20

    See Security servers:

    viewsec1.mydomain.com (combined with viewconn1) - 192.168.100.10

    viewsec2.mydomain.com (combined with viewconn2) - 192.168.100.20

All these servers have IP addresses in the 192.168.x.x range. All servers in my DMZ servers are also in this range and I use a firewall to manage any type of NAT.

I intend to load balance all these servers for my internal users, I would like that all reviews / zero clients to connect through the view.mydomain.com address. Really, I wish that my internal users and external (internet) connect via view.mydomain.com

When it comes to certificates, what is the best way to handle this. I'll need a 3rd party CA for my security servers, this way my users who connect with their personal computers do not receive any certificate warnings. Can I purchase a SSL certificate for view.mydomain.com and install it on all 4 servers?

As for the security gateway PCoIP, the external IPs can we internal dmz IP such as 192.168.100.10, because I have my NAT firewall, or must it be the public address provided by my ISP?

I went through the documentation already, but he is still not 100% clear to me.

    Thank you

    Mike

According to what external certification authority you choose, you have 3 Options. (Not all are supported by each CA, your CA representative may help).

    1. A certificate of wildcart, *. mycompany.com. so you can use it on all the components of the view and you're done. Two issues can arrise:

      1. If you address your servers via IP or a name like "view.local.domain"-> cert warning
      2. Some clients may behave erratically or generate warnings when they see wildcard certificates. In an environment of view I never had those problems (I use wildcard Certs issued by Rapidssl and Wiew software Clients, hardware PCoIP Clients and browsers in their latest Version.)
    2. Some CA offers the ability to add "alternative names" to your cert, so you get 1 (!) "Certificate which fits for"view.mycorp.com"as well as regards let them say ' View - 01.mycorp.com and ' view - 2.domain.local", sometimes even the IP addresses are allowed. The good thing: you don't have ' t get a certificate warning, even if bypass you the loadbalancer (view.mycorp.com) and speak directly to a server connection (see - 01.mycorp.com)
      1. Note that it should work in theory, I did it, but never with a view. Not sure if the display server like it.
    3. As discussed in previous discussions, you can obtain a certificate of "view.mycorp.com" and he slam to all servers within the party. I forge avoid this, because:
      1. As soon as you communicate directly with a connection to the server, you get a cert warning, because the name does not match cert. It is not so dramatic for users, but even more for the components of VMWare as talko to each other (maybe it's one Orchestrator, vCops or other)

Regarding the Configuration of your PCoIP gateway: you must configure the public IP (what is known in the world) in the settings of the server, without worrying if the server that has the intellectual property or is behind a NAT device that transmits the requests.

  • Connect Learn feature is erratic

    All the:

I'm hung like autonomous asynchronous training contained Captivate 8 on Connect. Problem is I get erratic results.

I put the settings of realization in Cp8 and publish using Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro settings in a zip on my desktop, then download the file to connect. Once in connect, I create a curriculum, add content and set up registration.

When I test the program, I do the following:

    1. open the course, enable it to load, then close. On the Curriculum information page, I should see the icon change to current and change the button from "open" to "continue".

The feature here works about 85% of the time, 15%, the icon and the button remain in its original state, showing the course as being inaccessible.

2 open the course, take it and do fail the test. Inside captivate, correct feedback appears on the page of test results. The icon should replace 'failed', should change the "Continue" button and the failure score must be validated.

Erratic as hell. Random still shows in its original state before opening, open without having passed the test, or has failed. the result will be show 0/0 in three States, or display the failure score in the failed State and the initial state. When you reopen the course, it resets to zero to allow you to resume the trial regularly.

    3. open the run, fill it in and take the test. The icon should go to completed, the button should change to 'Review' and the score should update the score of the failure of the pass mark.

A little less erratic than #2 above, but remains problematic. The full poster course inside Captivate, but when closed, connect will signal that he did not yet been open about 50% of the time. When it shows as complete, reports the score 0/0, correctly, or like a strange combination (e.g. 350/75 instead of 80/100) when you reopen the course, it will open to the page bookmark with the completed test and pass every time, no matter what the curriculum information page shows.

My hunch, it's measurable objects are initially Connect to panic (my technical term for this behavior). The reason for this intuition is that, when a Captivate course is published which contains no measurable items, none of the above aberrations are present. Alas, as I expect my users to interact with my content and save a viable score indicating a level of competence, is not an option.

    thoughts?

Got it relative to the failure and the unlimited number of quiz attempts - which makes sense in that respect not showing the course as having failed - but would be the last attempt the quiz still appear as the score, although attempts are unlimited?

If the number of retries is left unlimited on connect, then you should see everything. If you make the number of attempts (chess) unlimited in Captivate then it never reports a failure on the server, then you will not see this information. Think about wearing the number of attempts in Captivate fixing the limits of statement. Captivate report will alone when these limits are reached, i.e. If the user passes the quiz or failure, the number of times that you want to allow. But there is no State to these limits. So, if you set number of retries to 3 in Captivate, then the user must fail the quiz 3 times, with an instance of the presentation loaded. So if they fail once and shut it down, you get no information. If they fail it 3 times, and then you get their 3rd failure report, but not their 1st and 2nd. If you have a report of their past, then you know they passed it on their 1st, 2nd or 3rd attempt but you don't know who he is and any failure that they may have. So in short, leave the failure/attempts to Captivate 1 and let the server allow multiple access to the content.

    Brett Helm wrote:

None of the courses have a limit on the number of times where the user can take the quiz. If I put the attempts of one, which does not require the administrator to re-register the user if they fail?

Server side, Yes. If Connect will only accept a single attempt on a route so the admin (or Training manager) would have reset the transcript for users. Leaving the number of retries to unlimited is very much on the side Server and should not affect reporting.

I don't mean to blame Captivate (I think it's the least likely culprit), but I tell myself, it can't hurt to ask. If you can point the support to a specific person with bad reports, they should be able to see when they took the training and to draw the proper papers. Just be the wheel that squeaks and do not hesitate to ask for an escalation.
