  Here is a link to a document that deals with the alphanumeric codes for your printer model. Generally, alphanumeric codes appear when there is a problem with the hardware of the printer.   Thanks for getting back to me with your operating system. I would first run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool, which has the potential to solve the error analysis on its own. If the tool picks up a more serious problem, it will warn you. If this is the case, please take note of the issue or save a screenshot and include it in your answer.

  If the tool does not work, you can also try a cleaner tool to remove all files for printers so that we can install the printer costs back on your PC.

  Once the uninstall is complete, reboot your PC and reinstall the printer. You can either install by running the HP printer install Windows Wizard or by downloading the driver here: HP Officejet full feature and driver software

  I will not erase and returned just if I disconnect power and reconnect it.

  This could be the highlight of death for your printer.  There is still a reset, you can try called a partial reset.

  To make a partial reset:

  1. Make sure that the printer is turned on.
  2. Pull out the power cord from the printer.
  3. Pull out the power cord from the wall.
  4. Wait 30 seconds.
  5. Plug the power cord into the wall, but are not reconnect the printer again.
  6. Press and hold the 3 and # buttons on the printer.
  7. While maintaining the 3 and # buttons, plug in the printer.
  8. As soon as the lights turn on, release the buttons.

  If the partial reset doesn't fix it, you will need to get a new printer.

  Please completely remove the software installed as follows:

  * Please note that the following steps will delete all HP software installed.

  1. click on menu go (click the desktop, then watch the menu in the bar at the top of the page)
  2. Select Applications
  3 select the Hewlett-Packard folder
  4. double-click on uninstall HP application
  5 follow the uninstall to prompt to select a device to uninstall
  6. press and hold Ctrl + Alt + Cmd keys on the keyboard at the same time as you click on uninstall
  7 approve any prompt to uninstall all HP software.

  Then repair disk permissions to avoid problems installation:

  1. open the Applications folder.
  2. go to the Utilities folder.
  3. double-click on disk utility.
  4 Select the hard disk that contains the boot volume.
  5. go to the first aid tab and select Repair disk permissions.
  Note: This process may take several minutes depending on the Mac and the amount of the permissions that need to be repaired. The journal of the progress will tell you when the process is complete.

  Download and install the Mac OS X 10.6 full of features below:

A couple of months, I have spent many hours (literally) with a HP technician (a couple of them!) and we couldn't do anything else than give an error message. New drivers do not help.   Update! Shortly after this announcement (such as minutes), I saw an announcement on how to reset the scanner bar and that was the problem! I am now and scan and grateful for the greasy68 of the display. Feels so good to have my scanner back! Life is good.
