Error: there is no recording device detected when trying to burn CD or DVD

Original title: drive or CD or DVD disc burning

I have re-installed Roxio Easy CD & DVD Creator 6 on my pc. It was installed and worked very well before.

I have open and try to burn a DVD, and he says there is no record of the found device. I have burned many DVDs using this program before.

I also open iTunes to listen to music and I get this error message.

Caveat!

The registry settings used by the iTunes for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing. This can occur as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes.

I uninstalled Roxio and iTunes and reinstalled iTunes but with no result on the possibility to even burn CDs again. I tried to system restore to before I installed Roxio, but it does not point restoration to date that I have installed (3 December 2010), I also can't go back to November to see if there is a restore point for that month.

Hi fischer881,

Try the following steps to start the IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service and check the result.
a. Click Start, click Run, type services.msc and click ok.
b. in the list of services, double-click IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service.
c. change the startup type to automatic, and then click Start.
d. click on apply and then click ok.
e. restart the computer and check if the problem persists.

Original title: the protected when burning music

I hope that this question is in the right place.

I am trying to burn some my tracks favorite original CD in my library on a blank CD, so I have all my favorites on CD one.

The problem I'm having, is that when I start to the burn, a window appears and says... "that at least one of the tracks is protected"

Where to look, or go to find that trace is in order to remove it, and then burn the rest?

    Thanks in advance.  :-)

    Hello

It seems that burning rights are missing for one of the tracks.
It's ok to burn the tracks. If CD burning rights are missing on the slopes, then you will burn successfully tracks.

If the song file is protected by the rights of use, these rights may allow for playback of the song on the computer but prohibit burn them on a CD. If the Information button appears next to the song in the burn list, click the button to see more information on the issue. 2. the specific issue of burning CD using WMP?

    3. What is the exact full error message?

Your CD or DVD drive cannot read or write media

    http://support.Microsoft.com/GP/cd_dvd_drive_problems/en-us?EntryPoint=lightbox

    Method 2: Clean the disc

Clean the CD or the DVD. To do this, use a disc cleaning kit. Or gently wipe the silver side of the disc with a soft and Lint cotton cloth. Do not use cloth of paper which can scratch the plastic and leave streaks. When you clean the disc, wipe from the center of the disc outward. Do not use a circular motion. If the problem persists, clean the disc with a damp cloth or a commercial CD or DVD cleaning solution. Dry the disc thoroughly until you insert the disc in the drive.

Select a slower recording speed and check if that helps.

    1. in the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the devices tab.
    2. in devices, double-click the CD burner, and then click the recording tab.
    3. in the write speed list, select a slower speed.

    Hello raulganau, welcome.

I suggest to try the system restore to restore the system to a date before the problem started. Try this...
    1. click on START
    2. click on "all programs".
    3. click on "Accessories".
    4. click on "system tools."
    5. click on "system restore."
6 follow the instructions on the screen to restore the system to a date before the problem started
Although the system restore does not target the personal data, I recommend always backup your personal data, just in case something happens.
For reference, I have included a link that provides more specific information about the restoration of the system and how to use it:

If it's a wav file that you need to it on 2 CD download and use Audacity (Editor audio freeware) to edit the file and cut out. Turn it into an mp3 file or burn it as a data file.

Or, if its an mp3 file, open it in Audacity and save it in mp3 format, but with a lower rate.
ATTENTION: not all players can read burned CD, mp3 files first consult their documents.

  • Media Player 11 error: "connect burner and restart the player ' when trying to burn a CD

Original title: Media player 11 on dell e510 in XP.

When I try to burn a cd with media player, have a message 'connect burner and restart player' and burn is dimmed.  I have a sony crx310ee internal d ' training.  Media Player will play cd but does not recognize the burner.  Was able to burn with Roxio but uninstalled trying to get media player to work.  Have you tried to update the driver, but I'm told that nobody no more recent is (over 3 years).  Removed upper and lower filters.  Have not unhooked by car and restarted.  Do you have a regedit and changed the 3 to 2 Volume guid value.    This adds the record to the properties of the drive button.  Have run convenience store and it reports the device is not a burner, which is incorrect.

    Help!

Yes!  Think my problem is resolved.  Had ignored a suggestion to uninstall the burner and reboot.  This seems to have solved the problem since I just burn a CD using media player.

  • Error: ' ATL. DLL was not found"when trying to run any application.

Original title: ATL. DLL was not found.

I can't run applications in my pc someone in my house could not get into the computer and changed operating system to windows xp, which allows to be decommissioning of this t. Now, I get this message when I try to run an application: the application failed, because ATL DLL is not found, re - install the applicationmight solve the problem, but I get this message after you have re-installed and I don't know what else to do. Slow computer charges and freezing, something he has never done before. Same IE you have a problem, the only thing that works well, it is the remote assistant who helped me to get here and to him intermet, actually all of this with the dll thing started after I deleted the firefox browser because it froze the computer. Unable to restore my recovery utility, I tried a TI ran and told me it is impossible to get it back before I uninstalled firefox.

Unfortunately, the support engineer technical 'expert' who is hired by the tips from Microsoft to run sfc/scannow will not help you.

I would say that, as usual, the technical support engineer has not bothered to reproduce the problem and tried their own suggestion.

If the atl.dll file is missing, sfc/scannow will launch but it does not work.

It's just another wild goose chaseSupport Engineer.

A lot of things will not work if the atl.dll file are missing.  System Restore will not work, Event Viewer do not work, you will not be able to get on the Internet, etc., until the file has been replaced.

You try to run the system restore, you see the following message is displayed:

Rstrui.exe - Unable to locate component
The application has failed to start because ATL DLL not found.  Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

Try to open the event viewer, you see a message like this:

MMC could not create the snap.
MMC could not create the snap.  The snap-in may not be installed correctly.

    Name: Event Viewer
    CLSID: {975797FC-4E2A-11D0-B702-00C04FD8DBF7}

Running sfc/scannow will be launched, but it will not run if the ATL DLL file is missing and you will see events like this in the event log (when you arrive, it works again):

The server {8BC3F05E-D86B-11D0-A075-00C04FB68820} is not registered with DCOM within the required time.

You can't get on the Internet using any browser.

You have to somehow replace the missing or damaged file.

The file might really be missing if he has been quarantined (actually deleted) by your antivirus not specified.  If the file is simply missing, you can just replace it and then later determine what happened to the file and decide what to do about this.

You can search Windows on your system for ATL DLL and replace the missing file.

THE ATL. DLL file must be in this folder (assuming that Windows is installed on your C drive):

    c:\Windows\System32

Check and see if you can find the ATL DLL file in this folder, or if he's really missing, you will need to replace it:

Depending on what applications you have installed, when you search for your ATL DLL system, you can find ATL DLL in several places on your system.  You must be sure get you the correct that belongs in c:\windows\system32.

The most likely place to find a good copy of Atlant. DLL will be in one of these folders:

    c:\Windows\System32\dllcache
    c:\windows\system32\ServicePackFiles\i386

Locate a copy of the correct Atlant. DLL from the file in one of these folders and copy/paste in the folder c:\windows\system32.

Answered in the affirmative if invited to replace the existing file.

There is a copy of the file on my SkyDrive, you can download a system not affiliated and then copy the file to a Flash DRIVE or a floppy disk and apply it on the afflicted system c:\windows\system32 folder.  Here's how:

I downloaded a copy of XP Pro SP3 file you need on my SkyDrive (everyone has a SkyDrive for file sharing).

You can download it and when you do, place a copy of the file in these two folders (assuming that Windows is installed on your C drive):

    c:\Windows\System32
c:\Windows\System32\dllcache (this is where XP keeps backups of important files).

Here is the link to my SkyDrive and you can get the file you need here:

    https://SkyDrive.live.com/?CID=6a7e789cab1d6f39&ID=6A7E789CAB1D6F39! 311

When you see the files available for download, you can not see the file extension (.exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys, .zip, etc.), but when download you them they will have the right extension.

When you download the file (especially if you use Internet Explorer), when you get a chance to save the file, your browser is unable to save the file with an extension (by example, .exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys, .zip, etc) then you will need to manually add the extension appropriate to the file when you download the file before you save it.

You can download the file without the extension, and then rename the file to add the appropriate extension.  You do not want to use a file called atl when the name of the file should really be called atl.dll (if the downloaded file has no extension, you will need to change the name of the file to add the appropriate extension to make it work.

You then put the downloaded files in the correct folders on your system.
