• Satellite L300-1AS - load and operate on battery

  I have a Satellite L300-1AS, running Vista. The computer began recently to show it is "connected, charge", but does not actually charge. Start the computer normally to aid decision-making of current, however if disconnected from the electrical network and the laptop died (no charge in the battery).

  I thought that he could have the power adapter, but I also have an older toshiba which has the same exact power adapter, I tried it and it works on both machines (and two adapters to charge the old laptop)

  Then I thought that maybe it's the battery and bought a new battery (the computer is under warranty, but I needed it fast). The new battery will not charge, but shows 6% charge.

  Then, I thought it might be corruption under Vista, so have returned the computer to its factory settings, by reinstalling the software. It has not yet solved the problem.

  I also tried a few other ideas I found in Google.

  I feel that this problem is perhaps something to do with THE system BIOS, I have tried to re - install, but it won't let me, and I can't find a way to return to a previous version.

  Anyone know where I can find an older version of BIOS for my machine and how to change it to an earlier version? It is currently the latest version V1.90 from the Toshiba site.

  This really strange boyfriend s but to me it sounds like a hardware problem... I think it might be the motherboard issue. Maybe the card mother doesn t charge the battery properly.

  In my opinion the best way would be if a cell phone technician would check your laptop. They can test the motherboard and all other parts.

  The switch on the front is on and to the left, the F8 function key turns on the light and offshore, but even with it on, when I try to connect to a network it tells me that it cannot find.   I recently bought a new HD to replace the original that my laptop takes an hour to load.

  I put the new drive hard at in the BIOS setting, I chose to boot from USB... USB is recognized as it appears on the screen of the BIOS. I disabled the LAN option as it gives me PXE error... I think that the USB files are not read. as I handed the old HD and attached to boot from USB but it just goes to the start screen.

  I thought that perhaps I bought the wrong HD, but a new appeared on the BIOS setting... I'm a bit confused and would appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction...

  In your ad you didn t wrote what is on it, and we don t know if USB can operate as boot device or not.

  I put t know what OS you want to install right now but original recovery DVDs or use Microsoft installation disc and install Win7 32 bit. I ve installed on friends L300 and it works perfectly.

What is the corect for this laptop card specification? the slit is wide 54 "L" shaped I was told that it will take a map 34 or 54 Type?.   Now my L300 will not start not (windows (Vista).
  It shows a blue screen saying that windows has been shut down and to check the installation of new hardware or software.
  There is no new hardware or software. He suggested to disable the bios memory options (I don't know how to do this) and suggests to start in safe mode to remove or disable components.

  The laptop does NOT start in any mode not to mention safe mode, repair mode that brings back me to the blue screen as described.
  I bought a Toshiba Recovery disk (a single disc happened?) that begins its process then two locks of "select a language to move forward" or detects an error and request I have "press any key to continue' what I'm doing, it then displays X:\windows\system32 > with the cursor flashing at the end of > and does nothing more , its been like that for 5 hours now... I'm supposed to type something in or I am looking at a new hard drive?

  Suggestions for a greatly appreciated numpty (outside to let computers alone numpty you of course!)

  I think it is s hardware related problem, but I can't say with certainty what part is malfunctioning.
  It may be a motherboard problem and in this case the motherboard needs to be replaced

  Motherboards are more expensive pieces of mobile phones I think you can get a new motherboard for 300-350 you should consider the cost of such replacement and in most cases it's better to buy a new laptop to replace this part.
