Ethernet/IP - physical port?

Hey,.

I have a CVS-1457RT - which has a primary Ethernet port and two Ethernet PoE ports (for cams)

I need to communicate with a Rockwell RSLogix via Ethernet/IP controller...

I had the driver Enthernet/IP of NEITHER and is trying to use the example of TagReadWrite.vi...

How to configure CVS-1457RT use one of the secondary Ethernet ports for this?

Best regards

Henrik Ehlert

Hi Henrik,

I think that if you connect the primary ethernet port to a network where Rockwell PLC and LabVIEW and PLC PC development are connected to, it should work.

1. you talk about PLC of RSlogix programming and follow-up

2. you talk to CVS-1457RT by LabVIEW programming and follow-up. You must deploy your VI to it. In VI, the PLC IP address must be specified for tag reading and writing.

I don't think that you need to configure one of the secondary Ethernet ports. But in case you do, the jury of the Vision should be a better place to post.

  • AIP SSM - application of physical port

    Hi all

I have an ASA5520 with the AIP SSM module.

I would like to get a quick check on 2 things.

    1. Module AIP-SSM MUST have a physical ethernet port plugged in order for IPS to function?
    2. Module AIP-SSM IP address must be on a different IP range like ASA5520 interfaces. ?

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

As I have it a deployment of ASA + AIP, but due to the imitation of physical port on our network & IP; We are not able to answer for the AIP module.

    Please notify.

    1. physical ethernet port must be plugged in and connected to the network for management purposes. To manage the AIP itself module for the GUI of IDM.

    2. No, it didn't need to be on the different range of IP addresses as the interface of the ASA. It's just another IP of your network, and it must be connected to the network via its management port (physical port located on the IAFF himself module), it may be on another subnet within your ASA interfaces.

The only way that you can manage the AIP via the GUI (IDM) module is via its physical port. However, if you are happy to set up and manage the module AIP via command line, you can always just session through the ASA command line, however, it can be annoying AIP CLI management.

I have a system with an NI PXI-8420/16 card.  From time to time a small problem in my PXI system occurs such as my RS-232 physical ports are assigned to different COM port numbers  So, I have to go to MAX and reassign my alias to realign my LabVIEW application with my port hardware.  Is there a way to stop these seeds from happenning?  OR is it possible to identify by program number of a physical port com?

  • WRT160N V2 physical ports seem to be dead... * beep *.

I got this router installed in my home network for about a year.  The firmware is updated.  Brief description of the home network:

    Comcast Cable Modem

    WRT160N v2

2 wireless laptops connected to the router

HP Business Inkjet wireless connected to the router

1 iMac hard wired (or wireless) to the router

1 NAS200 hard wired to the router

1 Epson printer connected to PSUS4 connected to the router

Sunday night while he was working on the mac, I got a message that I lost the internet connection. I tried powercycling the modem and the router, no change.  I can't connect to the modem (192.168.1.1) of the Mac when connected to the router hard.  If I turn on the wireless on the mac, or use a laptop computer connected wireless, I can connect to 192.168.1.1.  When I do, none of the wired devices appear in the table of network. The Modem is connected to the router, but not connected (DHCP 0.0.0.0) and there is no internet connectivity. If I connect a computer directly to the modem cable, there is a link and it works fine.

Any troubleshooting I can do, it seems that the physical ports are dead.

Explanations, or suggestions would be appreciated.

    Justin

Time to reset the router and reconfigure.  Press and hold the button of reset for 30 seconds and then release.  Wait 30 seconds and now the router power cycle.  Disconnect the modem for now.   Connect to the router via a computer wired to 192.168.1.1 with empty user name, admin password.  Now, reconfigure the router back to your configuration.

  • How to assign to the logic of distance in a separate in Logic Pro environment physical port entrance

Is it possible to assign the logical KEYBOARD with a separate entrance in the port of entry of environmental Logic Pro physics?

    Thank you for your advice.

I don't think so.  Logic of distance is considered to be a controller. Controller input data stream are made (by logic) before stopping the logic entry in physics. I "think" (I'm not an expert on remote logic) that the flow of midi is available on the port of the sum.

I'm still not aware that you can change the channel of the South on the logic of distance. So it must be channel a (connected) and your other controllers must be able to have their midi outputs assign other channels if you demux their output.

(please, correct me if this is not correct about the logic of distance - more conjecture on my part because I use remote logical not)

But the normal usb storage devices only works very well in this port. So, I tried to connect the ethernet to another USB port near the seizure of power, which seems to work very well. Hello world

I think I have either disabled or deleted the ethernet LAN on my NB200 to remove it from the system tray. (I can use WiFi integrated for networking and access to the internet or an external Bluetooth adapter with my Telstra Next G phone as a modem.)

Now, I want to activate and use the ethernet port, so I can connect to an old - ish computer using a crossover cable to copy a bunch of files, however I can not the LAN ethernet works again. I tried several times to add hardware and uninstall/reinstall the driver (downloaded from this site), reboot, & etc. without success.

Any tips or suggestions? Has anyone seen a similar problem before?

    Thank you very much!

If she is there, she is disabled? If yes then you can activate it. Right-click on it and select enable from the list.

  • No internet when you use the Ethernet on WRT54G port

Router worked OK in hours, but in / op later that day. Ethernet light works when it is plugged in it, but not of the internet on the desktop computer. Get free WiFi on laptop. Unplugged Ethernet port to #2 and can get internet. The parameters seem to be the same, but I'm not an expert, so who knows what happened. Tried rebooting, turning all power off and went to brouser 192.168.1.1 page to see if something has changed. Also, the USB connected to my Tivo shows a signal but is more connected to the network. Any ideas? I have Windows XP. Also I have updated drivers WRT54G after that was the problem.

The computer has an active PPPoE connection. Connect directly to the internet without going through the WRT via ethernet or because connection that your modem has a USB port added through which your computer connects to the internet, effectively blocking any other connection.

You must cancel the PPPoE connection. Select "Internet Options" in the control panel. Tab connections make sure you select "do not establish connection" (below the list of configured connections). OK the change. Then, disconnect your connection PPPoE ("Centurynet") in the network connections Panel.

After you have disconnected the PPPoE connection, you should be able to connect again to http://192.168.1.1/. Your router must also be able to connect with PPPoE now. Check on the status page. If necessary, press Connect. It should if you have correctly configured your router to your PPPoE connection.

  • Access to the network of a device ethernet via the ports of the router.

I was wondering if someone can help me with a router configuration. I have an ethernet device, a built-in Digi Connect me stack ethernet. I put the IP, subnet, gateway, etc. on this device. It has a serverver web and telnet and FTP features. What I want to do, this is the device connected to a WRT54GS router to one of the ports on the back. Then I want to connect internet routers connecting to my local network. On the LAN, I have a PC I want to use to access the web page of the Digi device through the router. The LAN has affected the PC an IP address of 3.11.201.33 and assigns the router IP Internet of 3.11.201.32. The PC is set to dynamically set an IP address. I have configured the Digi device to have an IP address of 192.168.1.100. I want to open a web page on the PC and connect a digi device. I can't get this to work. I tried to add the IP address of the device Digi to the DMZ on the router, but that did not help. How can I get from the PC via the LAN, through the router, on the port that is connected to the Digi? Any help is apprecieated!

Outgoing FTP for multiple devices behind the router need not any special installation... you will not need to pass all the ports for that.

You can port forward more than a device with the stock firmware digi... I just forgot how port forwarding 'niche roles' it is on the page... the WRT54G V5 has 10, so assuming that no other device in transmitted port, you should be able to forward the ports ftp and telnet for 5 devices.

  • PowerConnect 5448, how all the trunk of physical ports and allow all the VLAN tags to pass transparently

I would like to achieve such a goal, do all acts of switch ports 5448 as 'trunk', that is, just as an entry-level switch. Yes, I want all the tags VLAN through seamlessly.

Let me explain more clearly. If

    • With MAC1 PC1 is connected to switch port 1 (port 1) in short, PC2 with MAC2 is connected to port 2.
    • PC1 sends a packet with vlanid = 30 ethernet VLAN tag,.

I want the ethernet packet must be SENT to port 2 without modification, i.e. 2 PC will receive the package with exactly the same byte packets that PC1 sends.

Currently, I want to configure all ports from the switch to act like this, but how to do this? Can someone tell me the more concise CLI commands to achieve? Alternatively, it is possible via the web interface?

I must again complain the poor manual, which talks about this concept and this notion over and over again (both of ambiguous statements that the author of manual does not), BUT doesn't explain them not at the level of the content of the packages, so I'm totally at a loss.

I tried the web interface. Simply together port 1 and 2 for access mode or general mode does not work.

Please help me. Thank you in advance.

Thank you, Josh, you begin to point me in the right direction.

Now, I know just affecting a Trunk port, or general mode is NOT sufficient.  I have to give what kind of package VLAN (i.e. what VLAN ID) are allowed to pass through.

To do this assignment, I have to take 2 steps. say first of all, the database "vlan" to recognize a VLAN ID in the world, then say that some specific port is allowed to pass through with this VLAN ID specific packages.

Thus, in order to pass packets VLAN with VLAN ID 18-25 no modified (marked packets in packages marked on) g7 to the g8 to port port, I have to do:

    Console # config
    Console (config) # vlan database
    Console(config-VLAN) # vlan 18-25
    Console(config-VLAN) # exit

Console (config) # interface ethernet g7
    Console # switchport general mode
Console # switchport General allowed vlan add the tag of 18-25

and again for the g8. And if I want to 48 ports to act like that, I have to write this kind of order 48 times right? All the shortcuts?

  • New Port USB 2.0 with digital video duplicator - what is Ethernet at the back the port used for?

Received last week, plugged into my W500 (Windows XP Professional) - seems to work very well, but I'm mystified by the Ethernet port on the back of the replicator - that is it for?

I'm sure it's a simple question with a simple answer, but I don't know what to do with this port - does not seem to make a difference if a network connection is connected to this port or not?

Thanks in advance for the help.

You can download usb based ethernet dongle. The ethernet on the port replicator port simply acts as a your computer's ethernet connector.

The point of having a port replicator, is that it acts like a Replicator of ports on your computer.

In both cases, the loopback driver is set up because I do not have these ports connected to anything. But it's not important at this stage. The thing is that I have two ways to set up the same thing, but I don't know which is the right.

    Thank you very much

    Emiliano

    Hello Emiliano,

In both cases, the encapsulation for xconnect is mpls only. the other encapsulation tht you defined as the service instance is to map an incoming tag to a service instance. If you receive an image without any tag it will be mapped to the instance of service 1.

Say assume that instead of 'default of encapsulation' we confiure "encapsulation dot1q 10" then all the frames coming with 10 tag will be mapped to this service instance.

Now a major difference between the two implementation is, one is the port-based EoMPLS is second evolutionary EoMPLS. In EoMPLS based on port, you can use this port only to L2 circuit service, while as part of the CVS, you can create several service instance and use them for different services.

Probably the biggest advantage of the VCA framework is the ability to support several services by physical port. This means that under a single physical port, you have the following mixed together:

    -802. 1 q trunk

    -802. 1 q tunnel

    -Local connect

    -Scalable EoMPLS (EoMPLS xconnect)

    -Multipoint Bridging (L2 bypass)

-Multipoint Bridging (VPLS, focused on the SVI EoMPLS)

    -L3 termination

    Kind regards

    Assani

Site 1 has 50 users with Server 2003 SBS, SQL Server, Intranet, Helpdesk and PC Reporting.

Adding all sites operating systems, data, Mail etc etc I will use about 1.5 TB

What I want to achieve a realistic budget for 130 users: -.

Virtual (that's why I'm here.  LOL)

Reasonable return without having to go to a full SAN environment blown for 3 sites

vMotion - HA - DR - continuity - Easy Backup and restore - centralized management – storage centralized redundancy - a kind of failover (but), Site replication to the other and, ideally, no. SPOF.

I just bought the following Kit to test and then use in the direct environment and buy the additional kit if it is the right path to follow.

    HP HP/3COM Couche3 routing V1910 - 16G Ethernet Switch 16 Port - x 2

    HP 633405-421 PROLIANT DL380 G7 E5649 2.53 6 C SFF P410I/256 460W - x 2

    HP 500662-B21 30 GB of RAM per server (3 x 8 GB) - DDR3-1333/PC3 - x 6

    HP 605835-B21 HP 1 to 6 G SAS 7.2 K 2.5 in. MDL - x 6

HP 8 GB Secure Digital High Capacity CLASS 10 Ultimate - x 2

    HP 516914-B21 HP DL380 G7 8SFF CAGE KIT for 8 bays SFF - x 2

    HP 503296-B21 HOT PLUG REDUNDANT POWER 460W - x 2

    HP 593722-B21 HP NC365T Gigabit Ethernet Card - PCI Express x 16 - x 2

    HP 468406-B21 SAS Controller - Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) - PCI Express 2 - x 2

8 TB of QNAP TS - 459 Pro 4-bay Turbo NAS - 1 x II (no second RAID controller)

    MS Datacenter 2008 R2 - x 6

    MS Exchange 2010 - x 1

My thoughts for 130 users between the 3 sites are:-

Put all of the Group 1 local domain with unique authentication and replication DFS R2 server 2008.

Head Office hosts will have x 2 Server 2008 R2 domain controllers DC01 and DC02 (primary and secondary DC)

1 IP and subnet within the group structure

    Site 1 - 192.168.0.X 255.255.0.0

    Site 2 - 192.168.1.X 255.255.0.0

    Site 3 - 192.168.2.X 255.255.0.0

Have 1 exchange server at the Head Office of the group.  Server 2008 R2 - Exchange 2010 Std

Have 1 Intranet server at the Head Office of the group.  Server 2008 R2

Have 1 Helpdesk server at the Head Office of the group.  Server 2008 R2

Have 1 DC server at the Head Office of the group.  Server 2008 R2

Have 1 Intranet server at the Head Office of the group.  Server 2008 R2

Having enough material on the site of 2nd to make appear the VM headquarters is in a DR situation.

    Host 2 will be DC03 DC04 Vm

3 host will have DC05 and DC06 Vm

Acceleration of VMware Standard Kit with up to 8 cpu

x 6 servers DL380 G7 (see specifications above) - x 2 servers on each site with 6 simple core cpu for each server

    With a 16-10 k 600 GB SAS or x 16 x 1 TB 7.2 k MDL SAS 6 GB

    x 2, 4 port NIC - edge - 4-port 4-port HP NC365T

HP P4000 VSA across x 16 discs on both servers for vMotion and HA

A kind of QNAP backup software

x 2 QNAP 8TB NAS, x 1 at Headquarters, x 1 to Site2 to VM backup of (QNAP to QNAP allow replication to Site to Site)

My budget is of approximately: -.

    Around £50 k / 60 k give or take a little.   Just brought 10 k worth of kit leaving 40 k / 50 k.

    My questions are:-

    (1) would this setup and kit look if he'd work with future expansion?

    (2) what recommendations and how I would go about setting up the structure/IP subnets and vswitches/pswitches/groups etc. to which physical ports?

    (3) are there other recommendations or suggestions for me to watch given the fact that I never touch before vmware, and I'm going to do the installation, configuration and deployment?

I know that, don't tell me "I have my hands full" LOL any help would be great.

    Thanks to advanced

    Trevor
