Exernal HDD guard after ejecting disk access

I use a drive external HARD of Fantom Drive with USB3.

When not in use, the supply unit keeps making even the sounds that you normally hear from a hard drive when accessing r/w. Even after unplugging the USB, the device continues to work on the disc. I waited for more than 15 minutes and it does not stop. Without USB connection, it is clear that there is no software on the PC in interaction with the device.

Any idea?

Hello

It sounds like a firmware issue, or possibly a mechanical problem with the drive (motor solenoid does not receive the correct stop signal). In both cases, it's a hardware problem and not something that we have on the software side can help with. A site that could help is Tom's Hardware, which also has a Forum like this. Go here: http://www.tomshardware.com/ .

Let me know if this helps you.

Kind regards

I guess you are talking about hard disk access and not a CD/DVD disc access. If I'm not mistaken, your hard drive is probably faulty and you should test it.

Test the hard drive with a diagnostic utility downloaded from site of the disc mftr. or use SeaTools for BACK of Seagate. You create a bootable CD with the files you download. • Filed to load the disk access driver

Partition Wizard displays "Classified to load the disk access driver" after his laptop with ThinApp.

Could you please tell me how to fix this error.

I bet that the application has a device driver, used for access to / manipulate the disc. ThinApp can virtualize device drivers. Generally, disk tools are poor candidates for ThinApp. You don't want a virtualization layer between your disk tool and the disk.

Looks like a problem of equipment, is that the reader is able to read data/audio CD or DVD? If this isn't the case, then you may need to replace the drive. If only a few CDs or DVDs are affected, check if they are always clean and not scratched. Tim Baets

    Hi Drumminman,

    1. what happens when you try to close the defarg?

    2. you receive messages or error codes?

3 have you tried to use the computer during execution of the defragmentation?

Usually if the disk is very fragmented evil, it can take a long time to perform the defragmentation.

You can try these steps and see if it helps.

    Step 1:

You can also temporarily disable the security software and firewall installed on the system and check if the problem persists.

Note: Be sure to enable the security software on the computer after checking.

    Step 2:

You can also scan [SFC] System File Checker on the computer that will replace missing or corrupt files & check if the problem persists.

  • Access denied message to scan and a program after running disk check

Original title: chkdisk found bad sectors on my hard drive and seemed to move them, but now I have deinied for my scanner and a program so far. How can I fix it

I cnt day Quicken or use my scanner. I get "access denied".

    Hi rosiemate,

To check if the following is useful.

    Method 1:

Step 1: Disable Zone Alarm temporarily and see if you still have access denied message. If there is no error, you may need to look in the settings of the program.

Note:  Check that you activate your anti-virus protection on the computer back after you complete these steps. It is not recommended to disable these settings on the computer. It's just to solve the problem.

Step 2: As you can see the files unusable for Quicken, you can follow this article to check the issue.

Alternatively, you can consult this article.

It may also be a possibility of a corrupted user account.

    Method 2:

Step 1: Create a new user profile to test the issue. See the "create a new user profile on the computer working group" section of this article.

Step 2: If the problem does not occur, follow the "copy files to the new user profile" in this article.

    I hope this helps.

  • Tecra R840-109 - alert HDD - unable to get disk information

I turned on my Toshiba Tecra R840-109 and everything looks that the factory settings have been restored, but I still have my files on the hard disk in the users folder (where the system has also built a temporary user I'm connected now, I guess).

At the opening, the computer asked me to do the things you do when you get a new computer (for example accept the license, install browsers, register fingerprints, if applicable etc.). In addition, it showed an error, alert HDD/SDD saying "Could not get the information from the disk, cannot use the alert function".

Is there a way to solve this problem, that is, to apply the previous (original) user?

An obvious solution would probably be to restore the system, but I don't have a backup set to the top (which I will fix as soon as this problem will be solved). Tried to reboot, nothing has changed.

    Any help is appreciated!

    Hello

To be honest situation described sounds pretty confusing and not logical for me.
If you do not have recovery (DVD or USB) media create using preinstalled Toshiba recovery media creator tool.
After this use this bootable media and reinstalling the recovery image so you will have 'presets' again. After the installation of clean operating system, it is not possible to have the old data stored on the HARD drive, not on the C partition.
The fact is that before the installation of recovery begins any HARD drive will be deleted and formatted.

Sorry if I got you. If you have any concrete and clear questions do not hesitate to ask.

I would like to replace my dv7 - 6143cl HDD with a SSD boot drive and using the OEM HARD drive as secondary storage.

I have the SSD and the caddy

    I need to:

    delete the original OEM HD

    Install the SSD

install OEM HARD drive in secondary Bay

Install Win 7 (I don't have install disks - what is on the HARD drive in his backup partition)

    or I have to

    delete this HD

    Install the SSD

go into the BIOS, and then assign him drive in AHCI (etc.)

    Install Win 7

install OEM HARD drive in secondary Bay

    etc.

I want to dual-boot, if possible, but I think that the second HD (start-up disk) does not start, even if I change the settings in the BIOS

    is this true?

    Thank you very much

    Hello:

Your BIOS is set to AHCI (or RAID) by default. It cannot be changed.  Look in your device manager and in the IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers section, look to see if there is a controller SATA ACHI he.

If so, you have an AHCI BIOS default.

If you go further down the line in Device Manager and see a section of storage controllers, click on that, you would see a SATA RAID controller and your BIOS is set to default RAID.

I don't have your model laptop so I don't know if HP has implemented some models double disk RAID or AHCI.

So... First, copy your original C:\ drive SWSetup folder and save that to a portable hard drive. That must contain all the files installation for the drivers and the software provided with your PC. You can search this folder for programs that you may want to reinstall after your new SSD drive HARD primary.

To install W7 on your SSD, check your own install of W7 disc.  Here's how:

If you can read the Microsoft windows 7 25-character product key, you can download simple Windows 7 ISO files to burn on a DVD for the version of windows that is installed on your PC, and which is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC case.

Burn the ISO with the option to burn the ISO on your DVD burning program and burn it at the slowest possible speed that will allow your program. This will create a bootable DVD.

Or use the installation of Windows 7 USB/DVD tool to compile the ISO file that you download from Digital River. Link and instructions below. You need a 4 GB flash drive to use the USB compilation method.

    http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/HTML/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool

Use 25 characters on the PC product key to activate the installation.

The key will activate a 32 or 64 bit installation.

Then go to the support of the PC and driver page to install the drivers you need.

Link to downloads ISO of W7 is below.

    http://www.mydigitallife.info/official-Windows-7-SP1-ISO-from-Digital-River/

Can't answer your question on the dual boot as I never did before.

You must remove the hard drive and get a hard drive of the computer laptop usb adapter and plug it into another computer to copy and paste the files that you want on the other computer.

    Here is the Manual:

    Your manual

Remove the hard drive appears on pages 2-9 to 2-10

This is the kind of card you need:

    laptop hard drive box

With an external box that you can use the drive as a portable storage drive after you delete the files you want or keep stored on the old disk of the laptop.

    Good luck

If the system is really slow on its own without worrying about all things Internet that I'd work on that to know first since you said "Browse online or offline is painful."

Dell made a lot of laptops to do so that we can see what you have:

Click on the button/ORB start in the lower left corner of your screen. Or, press the button of your keyboard Windows logo.

    In the type box:

    Msinfo32

Select / click msinfo32.exe and the system information dialog box opens.

Click System summary, click on edit, select all (Ctrl-A), copy (Ctrl-C) and then paste (Ctrl-V) the information back here in your next reply.

For information about video drivers, expand components, click view, click on edit, select all (Ctrl-A), copy (Ctrl-C) and paste (Ctrl-V) feedback here.

    For the Canadian Techtdo this:

Expand components, storage, click on disks, click on edit, select all (Ctrl-A), copy (Ctrl-C) and paste (Ctrl-V) the information back here.

There will be some personal information (such as the user name and the name of the system), and anything that turns information private for you, simply delete the pasted information.

Sooner or later, it would be nice to have a list of your startup items so while you wait to do this:

Download and install the free version of CCleaner here:

    http://www.Piriform.com/CCleaner

CCleaner will want to install an additional startup item in your configuration (that you need not) on the first Setup screen remember to choose to customize the installation and make it look like this, then install CCLeaner:

CCleaner allows you to manage most of the startup items and also do some other operations oriented cleaning.  Some people will you recommend is not to use the registry functions in CCleaner to avoid these features for now.  I have no problem with it for me, but sometimes it's a contentious issue, I prefer to avoid as much as possible!

You can uninstall CCleaner later if you don't like it.

Run CCleaner and choose Tools, boot and bottom right, click on the button "Save to text file" to save the startup information in a text file on your desktop with a name you remember - something like startup.txt

Save the text file startup information to your desktop (or somewhere you can find it) open the text file with an editor (Notepad or WordPad) and select all (Ctrl-A), copy text, all the text selected in the Windows Clipboard (Ctrl + C) then paste (Ctrl + V) the contents of the startup list of back here in your next reply.
