  I have these three questions of program after reinstallation of Windows Vista and tried (mostly unsuccessful) using Windows Easy Transfer to move and reinstall my programs and files. My computer had some problems before start, (it would be almost always gives me the blue screen at startup and go into Startup Repair). The Startup Repair wouldn't fix anything and just lose about 20 minutes of my time. Finally, he wouldn't even load at all and the Startup Repair did not help so I decided to reinstall Windows Vista. It worked perfectly until what stupidly, I decided to try and use Windows easy transfer if everything goes well "to" my programs this new copy of Windows Vista.

  So now my questions are: Windows Media Player 11 does not open. I don't see a thumbnails of videos that would open with Windows Vista either. Oddly, although I can use Windows Media Center very well. I also installed Quicktime player and it seems to work perfectly.
  It was not catastrophic but especially a gene. I use VLC player to manage most of my videos very well, but love using WMP before.

  Finally, for some reason any after the transfer, eventually after Internet Explorer automatically updated it will completely freeze when I open it. This is for me the prompt to open the session previously was crushed, and if I try that or close the dialog to open just the home page, it will freeze completely, even the blue circle next to the name of the tab to load.
  Fortunately, I have Firefox and Google Chrome installed, both work very well.

  Any help is greatly appreciated. I'm not entirely fretting on IE8 and WMP 11 but I feel really that less stressed if I know that I have a System Restore Point in case my previous numbers start to happen again.

  Try running ChkDsk to check your drive for errors.   My problem was the unresolved question (that means third-party programs are not the problem?) so I was wondering how I can fix the problem. For me specifically is not a file of 4 gb, but the files just randomly with mkv in them. I havn't exactly tested to see if it has to deal with the size of the file or not, but I can tell when I open 2 GB files, they work fine.   In this thread the poster informed origin as "haali splitter" caused the problem. Looks like some programs non-Microsoft is the origin of the problem. We recommend that you check if a non-Microsoft program is the cause on your computer.

  To do this, try the following steps:
  a. open the article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
  b. Article, follow "step 1: perform a clean boot" the implementation of these measures will disable all programs not Microsoft currently running on the computer.
  c. restart the computer and check if the problem persists.

• Answer: File Explorer is invisible when opened

  I've had my computer for about 3 weeks, and up to about 3-4 days there, when I try to open the files or when I click on my file Explorer icon on my taskbar, it is invisible. When I open the Task Manager, it does not show that it is running, but if I move my mouse in Explorer on my taskbar, I see the window that I opened, but it is not on my screen. This happened to my Skype Office a day later. I tried to look online and most of the things I found does not work or was not my problem.

  Alternatively, if you've been paying attention, you can try the method of Win-shift-cursor too.   Still, it would be easier.   But the most reliable would be the cursor method because it does not assume that there is a ghost monitor and is not affected by the question of if you moved your mouse (if you have nothing to click on and drag)...

  Wow.  Another discovery.  I moved the pointer without trying to drag (for example to simulate what I suppose that you did) and I saw the arrow pointer 4 just to move its own.   Then I pressed CursorRight, (given that my missing window was on the left) and apparently it hired drag on the window to the mouse!  Who would have thought?   Then I could just drag it using the mouse without having to resort to a press cursor repeat procedure.   Still not as easy as Win-shift-cursor if.

  I get this error "Windows Explorer has stopped working" for the past few months, every time I try to open a particular folder that contains 10-15 .avi files. This folder is located on an external hard drive and when I plugged the hard drive of a computer running XP it's the same thing. It throws this error and gives me 2 options,

  2. restart the program.

  According to the option that I chose it closes all the windows in the Solution Explorer, and nothing happens.

  I guess you are talking about the Windows Mail program, and that you opened the message in its own window by double-clicking on it. If so, the only way to prevent the next message to open automatically when is to delete the current message to close the current message and then delete it from the message list pane.

  4. Click view all in the upper left corner.
  5. Select the options to solve the problems of Internet explore performance in the list.
  6. Click Next to launch the utility to troubleshoot Internet explore performance.

  Now, follow the on-screen instructions.

  If the problem persists, follow method 2.

  Method 2: Disable the modules

  Add - ons are applications that use browsers to interact with the content of web videos and games. Incompatible modules or outdated cause Internet Explorer runs slowly, crash or prevent the sites display properly. Before disable you all add-ons, try to start Internet Explorer without Add-ons to see if the problem goes away.

  1. click on the Windows of the keyboard key and type Internet Explorer in the search box.

  2. click on Internet Explorer (No Add-ons) in the list of results.

  Method 3: Scan SFC run.
