By restoring the system you mean the recovery procedure?
Have you used the Toshiba or Toshiba HDD recovery recovery disk to put the laptop back to factory settings?

    > She tried an external mouse and I tried a different external mouse.
I m wondering about this question, I assume that you have connected a USB mouse to this laptop, and you cannot move the cursor by using these external USB mouse.
    Is this right?

In my opinion, even if the touchpad wouldn't work or would be disabled, the external USB mouse should work because both devices are unrelated to each other.

  • Mouse and keyboard stopped working on Windows 8

I have a laptop Sony Vaio model VGN-NS110E 2010 number middle. Since a few days ago my mother used it, and after it was closed and she turned on, the keyboard and the mouse do not work (the mouse wont even see on the desktop). (Yes, I tried to plug in an external mouse and keyboards, the computer won't even save) It seems that the keyboard does not work for a second before loading windows because I can press the NumLock key and the light comes on and goes off. But once windows starts loading, it stops working. The mouse and the keyboard also works if I get the computer start in recovery mode (the blue screen with the options to perform a system recovery, etc.). I can't the computer to boot in safe mode. And I tried to do a reset back a few days or a few weeks, and the mouse and keyboard still do not work. I'm guessing that the drivers are not loading, for some reason any. I guess the logical solution would be to do a factory reset, but my mom has all these bookmarks saved in his internet browser explorer, that she does not want desperately to lose. Anyone has any suggestions on how to fix or at least on the way to save somehow my moms stuff and if a reset?

    Hello Duane,

Thank you for the update on the issue.

If the keyboard and mouse does not work in one of the option, this means there could be a hardware problem is not getting detected so you may have to perform a refresh of your computer, but for this, there are also a working keyboard and a mouse. The best option that I can help you is to contact the manufacturer of your computer (SONY) or technicians who can check it physically and can reach to the root cause.

Keep us updated on the issue.

Someone has any idea how to solve this problem?

    Hello

I don't think there is a way to solve this problem. Also, I assume it is the related issue of the BIOS. Is perhaps the time to be up-to-date and use new and compatible equipment. ;)

  • My mouse pointer moves in the opposite direction, I intend when I use the touchpad on my laptop. It works fine when I use my docking station and external mouse. How can I fix it?

I'm using Windows Vista with a Sony Vaio laptop.  At the office, I have a docking station with keyboard and external mouse.  Everything works fine with this Setup.  But when I unplug the docking station and use the touchpad on the laptop, my mouse pointer moves in the opposite direction, that is my intention.  I move my finger and the pointer down.  I move to the right and the pointer goes left.  How can I fix?

Go to start /Control Panel, and then double-click the icon '' mouse. '' When this window opens, select the tab "Touch Pad" at the top. There's a box near the bottom called "Touch sensitivity", click on that. Change the settings a little bit lower than what they are currently at.

Driver Manager put it under "Other devices" and he know 2.4 GHZ 2WAY RF RECEIVER, then I go online to search for a driver. the last driver that it was since 2006 and I downloaded it, but I didn't know where to put the files. so I ignored it. and went to the microsoft site answers found a guy with a similar problem, but he said 'I then plugged it at startup after uninstalling the Device Manager.

I did and it worked! I logged on then he know... INSTALLING DEVICE... • Mouse Wireless Dell Inspiron 2320 & keyboard unresponsive

So today, I discovered that the mouse and keyboard no longer work with the all-in-one device, I.  I replaced the batteries and also hooked to a keyboard and a wired mouse.  If I launch the Dell and press F2 or F12 I can use the wireless keyboard, but once the system is in place at the main screen I can not connect using keystrokes or mouse.  Can someone please respond and tell me what I should do next.  I checked the forum, but did nothing found and went to the support site and found nothing more.  I need to get the device upwards, but not sure where to go next.

Thanks in advance for support or a response to this post.

Are the totally separate keyboard and mouse or do they share a single or shared USB connection?  Have you tried one or several different USB 2 ports?

Was this an upgrade from a previous version of Windows or a clean install of win 10 (what version)?

    Try this for starters:

    1. Turn off and unplug the cable from the PC, not just the wall
    2. Disconnect all external devices, including the mouse and the keyboard, including wireless dongle, if used
    3. Power button press / hold for about 30 seconds
    4. Reconnect the only USB mouse and keyboard (try wireless, if who preferred)
    5. Reconnect the power cord to PC
    6. Reset
  • 27 - k350xt (J6S80AV): wireless receiver USB for mouse and keyboard included

The online manual for my PC notes (page 65) there is a possibility to use USB in the back of the stand. When I turn on the PC it's side to watch, I don't seem to see a.

Where is the one at the bottom of the stand? It's behind one of the stickers? I have the warranty will be void if one or more of the stickers are removed to access? Or... If I buy a new mouse with a USB dongle wireless, can I use only the mouse and re-pair to the receiver connecting? I don't want to take another USB port for just a mouse.

    Thank you

    Hello @TeeDubya,

    Thanks for the quick response!

I took a glance at the situation for you.  The manual seems to indicate that there are only installed USB key that will pair the keyboard and mouse.  However, according to your specifications, there are only 4 USB ports on the appliance.  So as you say, it seems to be an internal Communicator.  I don't think that you can connect a different external device for the Communicator, as most of the Bluetooth devices come with something, you can use to connect to the desktop or laptop computer.  If there is such an option, it should be located in the control panel.

    I hope this helps.

    Kind regards!

  • no error code just that mouse and touch pad on laptop does not work

My D610 delllatitude's cd-rom problems, so when I contacted dell they told me to delete some of the files in the registry and now with my new drive hard to 100 GB when the computer was delivered on the pointer is located in the Center or there abouts and my wireless mouse or my touchpad moves it. When I put my original hard 40 GB drive but it works fine but I have an external hard drive here kit and I am able to run the 100 GB in this way drive. By pluging in there through the usb cord.

any suggestions as to how I might solve this problem? off silver shop and cain't difficulty or buy a new one or believe me I replaced it with a new HP laptop in a heartbeat.

After you have installed Windows on the new drive, have you thought to install all the drivers for your hardware? Looks like that you did not do this. Plug a USB Wired mouse and go to the Dell website and download all the drivers/utilities for your Latitude. This includes the touchpad drivers. Wireless mouse drivers need to be downloaded on site of the mouse mftr. and then installed.

Dell Support & drivers - go to the site Web and download/install the drivers and utilities for your operating system from Dell. Be sure to choose the drivers 32 or 64-bit according to the case. Enter your Service tag to get the drivers for your specific model computer.

Ensure that your data is backed up / copied to external media. It seems that your PC has a hardware problem. If it's a name brand PC, for example Dell / HP etc it may have preinstalled utility test read the manual or manufacturer's web site

If it's a generic PC, then your machine to HD will have a free test bootable utility, for example SeaTools from Seagate

  • trackpad is not working I use an external mouse

trackpad is not working I have to use an external mouse.

Hey there, here are some tips that might solve your problem.

1 - Make sure you are on the last update. To see if updates are available for your trackpad, open the App Store and click the updates at the top of the window.

    2-

    Check your settings

Assuming that there were no updates available (or they do not solve your problem), the first port of call should always be your trackpad settings. Many complaints can be resolved simply tweaking a few options
